claire and thomas get married on august 30th, 2019. so happy five years to them! ten years in total. that’s a lot. i like them. i was going to post these separately at first, but i decided not to. they look nicer together:)

I've gone back into an huge high school story hyperfix for No apparent reason for this past month and half so i decide to make a new tumblr! it's been a while since i've been in an fandom space so i decide to stick to an more niche(? i guess) fandom with not so many people still here as it's not as overwhelming for me.

these girls have been with me since 2013 and 2014 respectively with many many different changes! however their core characteristics have stayed the same.

i was planning on drawing them about a week ago buuut my drawing tablet has decided to die on me and my only drawings of them are from <2022. which isn't ideal. then i remembered a few days ago i can just create them on sims, so for the time being i'll use ts4 as a way to visualize them until i get a new tablet!

a little brief introduction to them -

vivienne is my high school story prime mc and she transfers over to berry high in her sophomore year. bc of this the timeline is a bit different to the canon one (especially since the choices games are canon to the original timeline) as in my tl hss prime takes course from her sophomore to senior year (there's NO way all the stuff that happens in hssp happens in one year!!! pixelberry u can not convince me otherwises!!!). side confession but despite hss/hwu being an defining part of me i've never touched choices... which means i've just never considered were those games would fit into my timeline. so i guess i'd consider my tl an au.

agnieszka or angel is my hollywood u mc who i miss dearly and i'll forever be torn up by the fact that hwu is unplayable now. she's vivienne half sister (vivi is a product of affair. there's A LOT of lore that i'll hopefully go into in later posts) and the two aren't aware of eachothers existence until around 2010. despite this angel loves the fact she has an younger sister, even in unconventional circumstances, and wishes to grow closer to her. vivienne is hesitant at first but by 2018ish they have a very good relationship!! sure it takes a while but the two had to overcome a lot when it comes to their family.

for the years vivienne starts berry high in 2013 and agnieszka starts hwu in 2014 (basically when the games came out). they don't start having an consistent relationship until about mid-to-late 2015.

also this is my first time doing character sheets that aren't heavily drawn so hopefully they aren't too hard to read/understand. this is all i'll say for now as i don't want this post to get too long! i'll drop more info abt them as this month goes by.

OMG…

these quests are bad and awful but also i find them extremely funny in a way. and i do agree with you; the mc is terrible here. i wouldn’t say this is completely ooc for the hwu mc, as they are more… immature… than hss mc, but pixelberry was very heavy handed with it. the mc is extremely unlikable and the plotline is very dependent of the main questline for you to root for these two characters together. and even then… questionable. i find some parts of these quests nonsensical too (sometimes it feels For The Plot, like in drive me crazy; and characters contradict themselves, like you pointed out with addi) and extremely rushed even though there are 10 of them. this all happens, apparently, in a span of 2 weeks btw.

i like hunt in these quests and he reacts like a normal person would tbh. and i like the “i don’t respect you” because he was obviously 100% pissed, but also. why would he respect a person who went undercover to trick him into liking them? pixelberry does something with this phrase later on too. they try to make it like the mc “knows something hunt doesn’t”/knows his true feeling and it’s just a bit pushy, but they’re so weird. leave this man Alone. by quest three you’re like, my god hasn’t he suffered enough already?

but you’ll notice this thing about them trying to make it not his fault later on. lol. they wanted to write a student/teacher relationship but didn’t want to commit to it because it’s, well, a student/teacher relationship. it has power imbalance and a lot of conflict of interest, of course. so they have to find it a way to make hunt blameless, which hurts the plotline a lot. you’ll see how this harms the writing starting on quest 6, i suppose.

not a Big fan of those but since i read them 10 years ago there’s a sentimental attachment to them. in a way. i also like reading them to torture hunt. every time i read them he’s suffering so that’s cool!

Reading Hunt Part 1

In (dis?)honor of huntclaire (@hsslilly-blog ) I’m reading the Thomas Hunt armour quests for the first time, and writing my thoughts as I go.

MC is Fortuna because luck, and cause O Fortuna is an epic song.

On the Hunt:

Not yet? Girl you’re literally lying to his face right now, creep. (He thinks you’re a stranger, but you saw him put on his mask)

Delicious dramatic irony here. Years spent analyzing nuances of physicality and behavior? I’m already starting to like this character.

Oh hi Claire! I guess you do get everything you want.

This should have been a timed choice so you could fail it. Just panic and he has to take the lead to avoid embarrassment.

I’m glad he tries to shut it down as soon as he knows it’s you. Though “I don’t respect you” is harsh. Much worse than calling you loathsome earlier that night imo.

The Reluctant Professor:

Wow Addison has totally flip flopped

Surprised by how much I’m on hunt’s side. A while ago I said i assumed the Hollywood U MC was a stalker, and I guess that’s not exactly what this is but like. He keeps saying no. Clearly, immediately, explicitly, no. Leave him alone!

What? No it’s not real. You don’t know anything about each other. He’s not choosing to spend time with you or enjoying your company.

Pixelberry has always been good at these little glimpses into characters.

I like how the question is slightly more personally asked each time. But also. What were you going to do if he said no? I highly doubt that would make Fortuna give up based on these past two quests alone.

I know this is a really long arc, and a lot of stuff gets headcannoned away (like knowing it was him at the mascarade). But the MC is such a massive creep! The writers are going to such lengths to make this not Hunt’s fault so being your teacher won’t be a power imbalance. But the MC is so consistantly stomping over boundaries, why should I root for them? Pixelberry, you’re trying so hard not to make him the bad guy! You didn’t have to write him as your teacher.

Since you write for multiple Choices stories, I'm curious: (how) do they all intertwine? Do your various MCs know each other? How do they get along? How did they meet? If any of your stories don't exist in the same universe, how would the characters get along if they did?

What a great question... now if only I had a proper answer 🙈

I think about this often. I'd love for them all to exist in one universe however, I already have two universes for Thomas and Alex (Hollywood U and Red Carpet Diaries) .

From there, I started with Ethan and Ellie, who through Love & Scotch exist in my Hollywood U universe.

So that leaves me with everyone else. (this is long, I'm so so sorry)

Initially, I was writing Olivia as MC (for like a week) so Ellie and Olivia were in different universes.... but I hated it. MCs personality and job and everything didn't fit Olivia. I had Olivia trying to be Ethan's intern while also being a pediatric specialist, which made no sense. So Olivia was rewritten as a full OC, which meant she could be in Ellie's universe but I had both Ellie and Olivia interacting with the fellow interns but never each other so it feel incongruous to put them together.

So that made me think that Olivia could be in the RCD universe, but in my RCD Alex has mentioned Ethan and Ellie even though my current Ethan and Ellie only exist in HWU. Alex mentions that much like her and Thomas who find each other in every universe, Ethan and Ellie do as well, which then puts me to trying to reconcile how Olivia and Ellie coexist. Even if my current Ellie is HWU only, I'd have to see how RCD universe Ellie is. I assume they'd be similar but not the same as Alex and Ellie wouldn't have the same relationship as their situations are not the same. Plus I'd HC that Ethan and Ellie get together before Alex and Thomas in the RCD universe.

BUT there is something else to consider... Danny!

In HWU universe, Ethan and Ellie's storyline follows Open Heart at least through the attack, so Danny died. However, in my RCD universe, I wrote Danny having moved to LA to have a cameo in a fic, so in my RCD universe, regardless of how Ethan and Ellie get together, their story will be different to some extent because Danny is already different.

Leaving this mess to the side for a minute.... some quick ones to rule out. I'm not trying to make fantasy meet reality so

Mal & Daenarya, Beckett & Emma, and Troy & Astraea are all in separate universes. (for now at least)

So that leaves Justin & Mari and  Levi & Laura

I always HC that Levi and Laura are in the same universe as Olivia and Bryce. I have a wip that may never get finished, but Levi does a benefit concert to help raise money for the pediatrics ward.

Justin... oh Justin, I haven't written him in ages, but I do adore him (despite all the hate and threats I got when I did write him). He could honestly be in any universe.

OOO Ben Park from LoveHacks! I forgot about him! Okay, so Ben Park (preLoveHacks) exists in my HWU universe and is featured in the #HollywoodHacks storyline.

Okay and there is Whiskey Business which is my one shot crossover with The Royal Romance. This exists in my HWU universe. This includes Liam x MC, Drake, Max, Bertrand, Olivia, etc

However in my RCD universe, Liam also exists and is a friend of Thomas as mentioned in Seducing Mr. Perfect. So I guess their friendship exists in every universe. (as does his and Drake's lack of friendship/arguments over proper scotch)

I think that's everyone in the Pixelberry Universe that I currently write for!

Now on how they get along...

HWU Alex and Ellie become very close and get along well. Alex is sometimes a lot for Ellie, but she endures it and Alex definitely convinces Ellie to step out of her comfort zone.

Olivia and Alex would both get along well. I think they could have a lot of fun together but also work together to raise money for a good cause. I'd love for Olivia to be the twin's pediatrician, but Boston to LA isn't really all that convienient.

Olivia and Ellie... I think they'd get along, but I don't see them as being close friends. They have very different personalities and they work in two different fields. They might have friends in common that bring them to the same events, but I don't really see them hanging out alone. They work together, they like each other, but nothing more. The attack changed Ellie (forever) and she is definitely more closed off than before. It has a permanent effect on her so she has a couple close friends but that's it. (maybe that's why I'm having trouble figuring out how they fit together in a universe.) But also this is Olivia and HWU!Ellie... I don't know if HWU!Ellie is identical to RCD!Ellie or if things are different. So maybe one day I'll start a new AU for Ethan and Ellie and explore how the two universes differ... maybe the attack is different in RCD universe which would mean Ellie would be different. Maybe her and Olivia could be closer.

Laura and Olivia would get along well. I actually have Laura going back to school to become a nurse. I'd love for Laura to be the nurse at Sunshine Pediatrics.I want to set MOTY in New England so that I could build the relationship between Laura and Levi with Olivia and Bryce. I do think these two couples would be fun to explore together.

i do not think they'll have a tumblr because tumblr is not a profitable website. when pixelberry was first starting out they had tumblrs for HSS, HWU, choices etc because tumblr was still a relevant website back then. even the then-ceo oliver miao had a tumblr and was interacting with fans on here.

i also do not think the fandom bullied pb off this platform lmfao. it's the 2020s, and tumblr is not the social media giant it was in the early/mid-2010s. it takes money to pay for a social media manager. this is why you'll find abandoned tumblrs for stuff like xmen days of future past (released in 2014) while major media properties do not even bother to make blogs to promote their stuff today and go to tiktok instead (and why pb has a tiktok too).

so my tablet is still on its death bed buuut i had a bunch of outfits from the sims saved from my introductory posts so here's the rest of them for my hss prime and hwu mcs!! i could spend hours on cas. ive had a very productive week. totally.

vivienne: vivi's style is very much inspired by the prep movement that happened in the late 2000s - early 2010s. though it's a little more lowkey and practical (as practical as a girl can get in an plaid skirt!). browns, whites, blacks and occasional dark greens are usually the colors she chooses to wear her love for the color brown is so strong that it even transferred to her hair! common clothing choices are skirts (duh!), mary janes or heels, sweaters, barrettes, necklaces and bow motifs on her dresses. she doesn't experiment with her style a lot (preferring to play it safe) though she falls in love with legwarmers after stumbling across 2000s j-fashion blogs in 2014. when she gets older she basically almost always wears dresses, and yes, with large bows on the front.

agnieszka: her style is a lot more spontaneous. though there is some common patterns. blacks with pops of bold colors, washed out denim, belts, caps/bucket hats, tights, platformed shoes and cropped tops. her style is quite modernized which is mainly bc ts4cc for 2010s fashion is very limited but i'd like to say she was just ahead of her time. after she stopped being so financially dependant on her family she would go to thrift stores and experiment with the clothes she bought from there. she never really belonged to any subculture but this is mainly due to her lack of identity within herself (which i'll go into a whole other time). i think this is what makes her more prone to playing around with colors unlike vivi who mainly sticks to the same browns/whites. when she gets older her style does mellow out a little but it still has the exuberant edginess that her style had at hollywood u.

fun little fact but in color psychology🤓brown is associated with dependability, resilience, comfort and warmth while black is associated with mystery, strength and protection. i think this could align with their characteristics but i DO NOT want to ramble on too long. bring up color symbolizing to me and i'll ramble for hours (studying graphic design and constantly having to work on color theory has ruined my life).

A Free Moment

Matt stepped into his trailer and peeled off the soaked t-shirt. He tossed it in a pile with the seven exact others. Today's shoot was brutal in the Miami heat. Add multiple pyrotechnics, and he had been more than happy being blown into the Atlantic Ocean.

With his new status as the number one action star in Hollywood, he had been offered numerous roles. He was terrified to step out of his comfort zone and try something new. What if he lost the chance to act? As much as he wanted to try something with fewer explosives and cheesy lines, he didn't feel the timing was right.

He paused drying off and opened his door.

"Here's the shooting schedule for next week." The assistant director handed him a sheet of paper

"I don't have a scene?" Matt asked.

"Martin thought you could use a break." He replied. "He wants you back the week after."

A grin formed on Matt's face. "Tell him I appreciate it." He shut the door and thought about what he might like to do with his free time.

The next morning...

"Addi!" Shannon exclaimed. "We overslept!"

"Huh?" Addison lifted her head and rubbed her eyes. She reached for her alarm clock and shot up. "No! We missed our flight!"

"I know." Shannon dropped her head in her hands. "I can't believe it. Hunt is going to fail us for missing class. I just know it." Her panic grew. "Addi! We won't graduate in May!"

Addison shook her head. "We'll tell him we needed to stay longer to make sure we accurately depict club life in Miami for our short film."

Shannon flopped back on her pillow. "We are so screwed."

"Shannon!" Addison threw her pillow at her. "Who cares if Hunt fails us?"

"Me! I care!" Shannon argued. "I want to be taken seriously as an actress. Everyone knows if you study under Hunt that you can pretty much walk onto any set and be hired."

Addison hugged another pillow to her chest. "I promise to make this right. You'll become a famous actress. You'll marry another famous actor and have picture perfect babies."

Shannon snorted in her laughter. "Yeah right. 'Cause famous actors like Chris Winters are secretly holding out for someone like me."

"It could happen." Addison mumbled.

"It could." Shannon's brown eyes twinkled with mischief. "Right after I build the first apartment building on Mars."

"You really enjoyed that class project of building our own sets." Addison picked up her phone and silently ran through ways to get Hunt to excuse them.

Shannon sat up. "I know your powers of persuasion are extraordinary, but you haven't ever tested them out on Professor Hunt."

"You're making me so much more nervous." Addison pressed the call button under the grumpy professor's number.

It rang three times before his sharp voice answered.

"Hey Professor!" Addison said in her syrupy sweet voice.

"Ms. Sinclaire." Thomas replied. "I assume you are calling about an extension." 

“Wow.” Addison said. “You must be part psychic.”

Shannon slapped her hand to her forehead. Hunt was going to throw them out of the university. She could practically see her degree going up in flames.

"More like that is the only reason students call." He corrected. "What reason are you about to give to keep me from marking zeros next to your name and Ms. Wright's?"

"Remember when we said our film was going to be a romance set amongst Miami's night life?" She began.

"Of course." He grumbled. "I also remember asking why you thought Miami would be the best setting for this story?"

"Ha! Yeah." Addison responded nervously. "Anywho, we decided to spend Spring Break in Miami to work on our film."

Silence was all she heard.

"And we, uh, need another few days to film the final act." She quickly said.

Shannon pulled a pillow over her face. They were doomed.

"I see." Hunt replied in a deadly serious tone.

"I promise, professor, that we have been hard at work this whole time." Addison pleaded. "We wanted our location to add another level to the story: two tourists meet and fall in love, then part ways knowing the promises to see each other again are not going to happen."

Shannon sat up and leaned closer to hear his response.

"Normally I would end the conversation with a do not bother darkening the classroom door. You have to learn that delays should be avoided at all cost when filming." He cleared his throat. "As it so happens, I have to cancel classes next week. I've been asked to be one of the judges for a film festival in Cordonia."

Shannon covered her mouth as she jumped up and down on her bed. Addison bounced on her own at the miracle. "That's awesome, Professor!"

"Yes, well, I expect your finished film to be waiting on my return the following Monday. Understood?" His tone dripped with icy disdain.

"It'll be there." Addison promised. "Thanks again Professor."

He grunted a goodbye.

Addison dropped back on her bed and kicked her feet into the air. "Woo! That was a close one."

Matt sipped his drink while looking out at the packed South Beach nightclub. He had asked around the set on where he should go for a night out and everyone had recommended LIV. It was certainly interesting.

He had already spotted a handful of celebrities in film, music, and even a few athletes. He wished he saw someone that was an actual friend or at least someone he enjoyed being around.

He motioned for the bartender and ordered a refill. His attention dropped to the petite blonde that suddenly appeared beside him.

Her bright smile seemed contagious.

"Two tequila sunrises, please." She yelled out over the music. Her hips moved in time to the beat of the current song. She looked around at the patrons then finally lifted her eyes up at him.

His smile appeared making her blink.

He's...so...wow, she thought.

She smiled back.

He leaned down. "Hello."

Her eyes lowered. "Hi."

"Are you here with someone?" He asked.

"Just my friend." She pointed over where Shannon was. Her friend was dancing near the edge of the dance floor and it seemed that she had caught the attention of--

"Is that Chris Winters?!" Addison exclaimed.

"I think so." Matt chuckled at her shock. "Would you like to meet him?"

She twirled back around toward him. "You know Chris Winters?"

"Yeah, after we did that buddy cop film, Hickey and Marks, we--"

Addison covered her mouth. "You're Matt Rodriguez!"

He nodded. "And you are?"

"Matt Rodriguez!" She repeated in shock. She should have known who he was the moment she saw that sexy smile. "I have a poster of you shirtless over my bed." She dropped her head at that TMI.

"Really?" His smile couldn't get any bigger.

"Er, let's forget that last part." She let out a nervous laugh. "I'm Addison."

He shook her hand. "Want to dance?"

"Are you kidding? Of course!" Addison picked up her drinks and told him she needed to take this over to Shannon first.

He followed her and yelled out to Chris.

The actor looked around before spying Matt. His own highly recognizable smile popped up when he saw his old friend. He glanced at the beautiful brunette who was still oblivious to him.

Shannon looked past him when Addison called out to her. She squeezed past people trying to get out on the floor and ended up plastered against Chris.

Shannon looked up to apologize and froze.

Her shock brought out a chuckle.

"I--I am--so sorry." She stuttered.

"I'm not." He replied, his dimples deepening with his smile. "I have been spending fifteen minutes over here trying to work up the nerve to ask you to dance."

"You--me--here?" She took a deep breath and tried again. "You want to dance with me?"

His arms wrapped around her waist. "I'm just waiting on a slow song."

"Oh my--"

"Hi!" Addison looked back and forth at the two. "I brought Matt Rodriguez and a drink over."

Without taking her eyes off of Chris's face, Shannon took the offered glass. "Thank you."

Addison's lips curved in an excited smile. She just had the most brilliant idea ever. "Chris! How would you like to act out a scene with Shannon?"

"Who?" He mumbled still looking into Shannon's rich brown eyes.

"The one in your arms." Addison pointed out.

"I'd love to." He quickly responded. "As long as you would like me to."

"I would." Shannon managed to say. "It's a love scene for our student film project."

He pulled her closer. "Then we should rehearse." 

Shannon’s lips parted with no words in response.

Matt watched his friend with a great deal of shock. Chris never acted like this with women. "He must have fallen hard." He whispered to Addison.

"I think she has too." She whispered back.

She set her empty glass down. "Come on." She took his hand and led him to the dance floor.

The next few days found the four working on the girls' final project before graduation.

Days and nights were filled with getting to know one another and deciding how best to present their film. Matt helped Addison with all the behind the scenes while Chris coached Shannon with her acting. With the guys' input and star power along with Miami's setting, a film worthy to be shown in cinemas was created.

Matt's suite...

"I can't believe it." Shannon threw her arms around Addison. She started hopping up and down with her as they watched the credits roll. "We did it! We made a movie!"

"I know!" Addison squealed some more. "I can't wait to get on that plane tomorrow."

Chris and Matt's delighted smiles dimmed.

"You leave tomorrow?" Matt asked.

The girls froze, realizing what that meant.

"Yeah." Addison's shoulders slumped.

Chris rubbed the back of his neck while looking at Shannon. "I won't be back in Hollywood for at least another two months."

Matt frowned. "A month for me if I'm lucky."

Shannon sat down on the couch. All her earlier joy had disappeared. "Oh."

"We still have tonight." Addison reminded them.

Chris straightened up and walked over to Shannon. "If you guys don't mind, I would like some time alone with Shannon. I--" he paused when she lifted her face up. "We need to make plans for when I return to California."

Shannon looked questionably at Addison and grinned when her friend nodded. "I'll see you back in our room Addi."

Once the couple were gone, Matt sat down beside Addison. "Is there anything you would like to do on our last night?"

She shook her head. "No." Her shy smile appeared. "I've had so much fun hanging out with you."

"Me too." His heartbeat skipping smile popped up. "I know we never really went on a date--"

"No. We didn't." She muttered, not even bothering to hide her disappointment.

"I don't suppose that once I'm back in L.A. that you might want to go out with me." He waited, his eyes touching on her face framed by her sun streaked golden curls.

Her bright blue eyes twinkled with mischief. "I might want to." She leaned closer toward him. "What would a date with Matt Rodriguez look like?"

His arm curved around her shoulders. "Pretty normal. Dinner. Dancing." He lowered his lips close to her cheek. "It's the ending that really makes it special."

She realized she had stopped breathing with that soft kiss touching her cheek. "Really? And how do these typically end."

Matt turned her face toward his. Their lips met and Addison pulled away, suddenly shy.

"You've probably kissed a dozen or so beautiful, talented women." She bit down on her bottom lip. "I'm more of a friend to guys like you--"

He captured her lips again. She melted against him under the passion he was conjuring with such a kiss. He lifted his head and met her awed gaze.

"Sorry Addison, but we will never be friends." He told her, smiling when she yanked him back for another kiss.
