Characters: Thomas Hunt, Alex, Bogart Hunt (puppy) Book: Red Carpet Diaries [Hunt x F!OC] Word Count:  ~550 Prompt: ice cream — @choicesmonthlychallenge ; @wackydrabbles “Why did you say that?” (in bold)

Synopsis: Bogart tries ice cream for the first time! (this takes place shortly after getting Bogart."

"Must the dog stand on the table?" Thomas raised his brow questioningly as he returned.

"Why did you say that?" Alex covered Bogart's ears quickly, even though she knew it was too late—the word had been said. She smushed his face lovingly between her hands, his tongue licking her fingers in reply.

"People eat there."

"That's not what I meant, and you know it!" Alex lowered her voice, "You used the d-word." She leaned in, kissing their little pup on his nose. "Also, that's why I put down his blanket first. It protects the surface and him from splinters."

Thomas rubbed the space between his brow, trying to conceal the slight upturn of his lips at the sight.

Her attention shifted to the small vanilla cone in his hands, her grin widening. She stuck a little dog bone in the top of the treat to designate it a puppy cone. "Alright, Bogart, who's ready for their first ice cream cone?!"

His eyes widened, and his head tilted to the side in consideration of the tasty treat.

"Go ahead, sweetheart," Alex encouraged, expertly taking pictures of the moment while holding the cone in her other hand.

Bogart licked the air as she brought the cone to him. His little tongue slipped out curiously, lapping up the first taste of the sweet dessert. His tail beat happily through the air as he moved in for a second try.

"Awww!" She cooed, nudging Thomas. "Look at him! He likes his baby ice cream cone."

Bogart alternated licking and biting the frozen treat.

"Sticking a do—" He stopped himself. "Sticking a bone in the top does not magically change the composition of the ice cream to one for d—pup—babies."

She chuckled at his difficulty. "A little human ice cream won't hurt him. And besides, you know you think this is just as cute as I do. You can't hide that smile from me, Mr. Hunt. I know you too well."

The slight upturn of his lips grew. Thomas pressed a kiss to his wife's temple.

A soft giggle erupted from her lips as ice cream dripped over her hands.

Bogart was quick to lick it up. As the ice cream reached the point of the cone, the lab pup stuck his nose inside, lapping up the last of it. He turned his head, opening his mouth around the cone, hoping to find more of the cool snack. A new round of tail-wagging began when he realized the cone was edible too!

"All gone!" Alex beamed, holding her hands up. "Ohmygosh, look at that face."

Thomas schooled the laughter threatening to rumble in his chest. He reached for a napkin and guided the dog to him. Carefully, he cleaned the pup's face, which was splattered with ice cream droplets. "There you go, Bogart. All better."

"Aww!!! You love him! One day you'll admit it!"

Bogart yipped excitedly, hopping in front of Thomas, looking for attention.

He sighed, picking up the happy pup, who licked his cheek.

Her eyes widened as she squealed in delight. Alex took the opportunity to photograph the tender moment. "Okay, but the two of you are adorable!!! New home screen! Oh, and I sent it to you."

His phone dinged at the notification as if on cue. He looked down at the dark, loving eyes of their smiling pup. His chest rose, but his next disapproving sigh was lost in his next breath. "Thank you."

"Told you! You love him."

"Let's not push it!"

A Sea Side Stroll 🌊

I'm so excited to be done with this one. It took forever (aka 3 days and countless hours). I couldn't get Alex's top right. I redid it probably 6 or 7 times, but I'm finally happy enough with how it turned out!

I know it's not perfect and I really get focused on the flaws, but I'm trying to remember that I just started digital art at the start of this year so I'm working on being proud of my progress and posting this, flaws and all.

Without Beard:

I prefer Hunt with a beard, but I'm self-conscious about the beard so I'm including the non-beard version too.
