Friendly[ish] Competition
A/N: Dedicated to the bff @alj4890 who has been dealing with things I’m unsure how any human being can function at this point but—this ones for you, A! Feel better ASAP! I need chapters 👀🙊😂💀JK [ish]
Pairing: Thomas x Amanda [OC], Matt x Addison, Ryan x Holly [platonic], Seth x Jessica [implied]
Guys, 1) I’ve NEVER played RCD so uhm go easy on me. If the characters are off, sorry 😬. It’s my first time writing for them. And 2) Last time I played laser tag was back in elementary school 👀🙊😂. I’m going off of pure memory in this.
Since shifting the car into park, his only thought is the innate desire to run...
From the people he foolishly acquainted himself with to the frivolous building he found himself walking through with its dingy doors.
“Hey! Look who made it!”
“Ryan,” Thomas’s voice devoid of emotion, “Was this necessary?” He gestures to the dim lighting in the room.
The actor doesn’t notice Thomas’s scowl at the friendly arm around his shoulder.
“Very,” Ryan simply said.
5 MINUTES LATER
“Ready?,” Matt asks no one in particular.
“Been,” Seth is the first to answer.
Thomas shakes his head at seeing the solemn look on the comedian’s face.
“Let’s goooo!,” Chadley shouted, sprinting out of the room.
“I’m coming for you Holly,” Ryan hovers over the bench, his eyes fixate on the exit door as he double-knotted the laces to his sneakers.
Thomas disregards the competitive spirit in the room, carefully placing his cufflinks into an assigned locker, he rolls the sleeves of his dress shirt up to his elbows.
“Just so you are aware,” he calmly states, “I will be removing you all from my life when this is over.”
10 MINUTES LATER
“Go, go, go!”
Matt whispers to the four men crouched behind him save for the bored director at the end of the line who stood tall, scanning his email.
“Thomas!,” Ryan pulls on his arm as they inch closer to a corner.
“He’s going to get us killed,” Seth muttered.
“And become a hero,” Thomas said, his voice mildly amused.
Matt ignores the conversation and motions with his hand for the dysfunctional team to move forward.
15 MINUTES LATER
“You’re brilliant,” Holly’s eyes begin to moisten despite the commotion surrounding her.
The compliment does little to slow down the usually calm blonde who has become a ball of energy, quickly helping Amanda with her gear.
“We have to hurry!,” Addison exclaimed, her voice low on purpose.
“Remind me again,” Amanda is barely able to get the words out before a weapon is thrust into her hands, “Why did you ask me to keep my visit a secret from Thomas?”
The disturbing grin on Addison’s face did not go unnoticed.
“Addison? Are you okay?,” Amanda asked, she looked between the two women who had recently become close friends on her numerous trips to Hollywood.
“I’m fine.”
“She’s in the zone,” Holly said with a tinge of excitement.
30 MINUTES LATER
“Man down!,” Chadley shouted from an unknown location.
Matt, Ryan, and Seth looked to the direction of his voice.
“Damn it,” Seth groaned.
“I can’t believe I’m asking this but can I leave...now?,” Thomas impatiently asks, noticing the time on the clock nearby.
“No!”
“Ssshh!,” Matt hurries to quiet a panicked Ryan. “They’ll hear us!,” he whispered.
“No one leaves until the timer is through,” he clarifies to an irate Thomas, “The team with most members on the floor in the end, wins.”
“How much time do we have left?,” Ryan searches the nearby walls for the timer.
“20 minutes,” Seth answered. “We’ll have to take one out to at least tie with them.”
45 MINUTES LATER
Amanda crawls behind the make-shift barrier made of old tires, trying her hardest to focus on following the vague instructions given to her by Addison.
“Man down!”
She recognizes the voice belonging to Seth and stops to take shelter behind the dirty tires.
“I’m coming for you, Summers!”
Amanda turns her head to Holly’s voice nearby, hoping to see her or at least another team member.
“Amanda!,” her prayers are answered when Addison suddenly appears next to her, behind the barrier.
“Holly got him!”
“Who?,” Amanda asked.
“Ryan!,” she gives a breathless account of Holly’s heroism.
1 HOUR LATER
With his back against a wall, Matt surveys the seemingly empty floor,
He was the last of his team still standing.
Except, Matt looked back at his only other companion, who was now on the phone.
“Amanda,” Thomas unbothered by the dwindling number of his teammates, “I’m stuck at this ridiculous place,” he continues his message on her voicemail, “But I’m on my way out. Call me when you get this, please.”
“We still have a few minutes left Thomas,” Matt reminded him.
He winces at the outburst of expletives coming from the director’s mouth.
1 ½ HOUR LATER
“Was that Thomas’s voice?,” Amanda eagerly turned with an enthusiasm she didn’t know she possessed. The exhaustion from her red-eye flight was beginning to set in.
Addison pulled her back into their hiding space.
“We’re still tied, Amanda.”
“I know,” she admitted. “We can always come back later and break the tie.”
Amanda attempts to stand from her crouched position before she is pulled back down.
“No!,” Addison’s strength and sheer will caught the Duchess off-guard. She’d never seen the usually level-headed, costume designer in this light.
It was almost frightening, Amanda thought.
1 HOUR 45 MINUTES LATER
“It’s over Matt,” the two remaining team members walk side by side towards the locker room.
“I know,” the actor accepted somewhat begrudgingly.
“Actually…,” a voice from behind surprises the two men as Matt feels the gear strapped to his chest power down, “We still have about two minutes left.”
Addison lifts her hands up in superiority, celebrating her team’s victory while jumping over Matt in excitement. He covered his ears in an attempt to protect himself from hearing loss at her squeals echoing the room.
Her solo party is quickly cut short when she feels the neon gear attached to her upper body power down.
Both Addison and Matt look to Thomas, lowering the laser-gun in his hand, face devoid of emotion.
“You were the last one Ms. Sinclair,” he said, tossing the gun away.
“I’m leaving now.”
He turns in the direction of the exit, ignoring the celebration Matt was now having, when Amanda suddenly walks in.
Thomas narrowed his eyes, skeptical of his eyesight. He blinks a few times, confident the enclosed space he had been trapped in for the past hour was now making him delirious.
“Hello Mr. Hunt,” she playfully greeted.
Amanda can’t help her smile, watching the realization dawn on the features of Thomas’s handsome face.
It couldn’t be, he thought to himself, yet he found his pace quickening towards her.
Or someone who bore a striking resemblance to Amanda.
It isn’t long before the long-distance couple is reunited with Thomas immediately pulling her to him in a loving embrace.
“I’ve been calling you all afternoon!”
Amanda gave him a remorseful shrug.
“I wanted to surprise you.”
The knowing smirk on his face brings a faint blush to the Duchess’s cheeks.
“Let’s go to my place,” he quickly moves to lead her out.
In the corner of her eye, she spots Addison eyeing the timer just above her head.
“5 seconds, Amanda!,” she shouted.
Thomas, confused by the sudden outburst, turns to look back at her when he sees Matt shaking his head.
“Behind you!,” he yelled to Thomas.
It was too late.
Thomas glances down at the now darkened, unpowered, neon-colored chestplate.
Addison’s celebratory squeals are once again heard throughout the room.
“Suck it Matt!”
“Cheaters!,” he accuses her.
A few feet from the quarreling Rodriguez couple, Thomas stares at the woman who claimed to be in love with him.
“Not you too, Amanda!,” he grumbled.
She sauntered over to him and placed her hands on his broad shoulders. Leaning into him, she briefly gazed into his eyes, her lips inches away from his.
“Surprise, Mr. Hunt,” she purred.

RCDAW Day 6 - Side Characters (Love) - It’s Time
So, this is kinda really late, I apologize, but it is finally finished. I hope this doesn’t come out as rushed as I think it is and I hope y’all like this! I focused on one side character and a LI so I’m not a hundred percent sure I followed the rules, but then again, when do I ever?
Pairing: Matt Rodriguez x Addision Sinclaire

They had arrived to the Hunt’s holiday party together, but he had lost sight of her blonde hair cascading down the back of her deep red dress. He searched the guests in his friend’s home, searching for the young wardrobe designer, the young woman who is talented beyond belief in her field. The young woman who stole his heart years ago, but he never had the courage to tell her. They always stayed in that zone, friends, but neither had dated in some time. After Stephanie went to Thomas, Matt kept his heart guarded until he had ran into Addison at Ryan’s birthday party. They hadn’t seen much of each other after his accident. He had kept to himself, not talking to many of his old friends, but as soon as he saw her again, his heart sped up and he wanted to be near her again. He needed to be near her again. She’d try to be there for him during his recovery, but he pushed her away. He hated anyone to see him in the state he had been in and he felt terrible for doing that to her. She didn’t deserve that and he wanted to make it up to her.
They’ve been spending most of their free time together. They discuss the films they’re working on, random things that either of them bring up which usually ends up causing a laughing fit to occur. He had never had so much fun with anyone as he did with her. The different memories came flooding back to him.
Late nights in his home while he didn’t feel like going out. She would stop by, bringing ice cream to delve into and cheer him up when he felt hopeless. The smile she pulled from him was reserved for her only and he had to think that only meant one thing. One thing he hadn’t ever considered until just now when their eyes meet in the middle of the crowd at this party.
Her sapphire blue eyes lighting up when she sees him already focused on her. Her smile widens and she shrugs lightly, indicating her apology for being away from him. Matt chuckles and shakes his head, matching her smile as he silently reassures her. He watches as she gets stolen back by Stephanie and Holly. The three girls smiling and laughing, yes, Holly is laughing. He turns away before her beautiful features encase him in a trance.
He loved her.
That’s what this was.
And wow, did he love her beyond measure.
Now he just needs to express those feelings. That would be the real challenge. He’d been broken before, hell, he is currently standing in her and her now-husband’s home. The woman who had broken his heart, unintentionally, was obviously not the one. Because the one for him was a bubbly, bright girl who he had been denying his feelings for far too long. It was time he faced his fears and went for what he wanted. Fears be damned.
It’s time.

Day 3 Treat
For Choices RCD Appreciation Week 2022
(Matt Rodriguez x Addison Sinclaire) I know in RCD these two are only friends, but I always want them together, LOL.
Prompt: "What is that smell?" "It was supposed to be gingerbread cookies, now it's just a pile of coal."

Baking Woes
"Addison!" Matt coughed as he rushed through the smoked filled house. "Where are you?!"
A tearful wail drew him to the kitchen.
He coughed some more as he made his way towards her. His worry grew when he saw her slumped across the kitchen counter.
"Addison?" Matt tried to pick her up.
Tear filled blue eyes lifted toward him.
"Are you hurt?" He held her tight as he quickly scanned her for any visible injuries.
"No." She yelled to be heard over the smoke alarms screeching their warnings.
"There's a fire somewhere!" He yelled back. "We have to get out of here!"
"I put it out!" She struggled out of his arms to open up the kitchen windows.
Matt watched her in disbelief as she fanned the smoke with a badly singed cooking magazine.
It wasn't long before the smoke alarms shut off.
"Is that what was burning?" Matt asked, pointing at what was left of the magazine.
"What?" She looked down at the item she swore would help make their first Christmas as a couple special. "It wasn't the only thing on fire."
Matt's eyes widened as he took in the disaster that had struck his once pristine kitchen. Mixing bowls were littered all over the table and bar. Egg shells were scattered along the counters, dripping egg whites down the cabinets. Flour was strewn about the floor and sink. Measuring cups held the residues of mysterious liquids.
Addison herself appeared to have taken part in a battle. Her shiny blonde hair was nearly white with flour dustings. Strands had escaped her messy bun to hang lopsided along the tips of her ears and the back of her neck. Smudges of egg and brown goo were dotted all over her red apron and green leggings. He knew she'd donned a white t-shirt earlier. He wasn't certain what color it would be after it was thoroughly washed.
Whatever she'd fought in here had beaten her.
And that aroma...
"What is that smell?" He asked.
Addison slumped once more upon a clean spot on the kitchen counter.
"It was supposed to be gingerbread cookies, now it's just a pile of coal."
"Gingerbread cookies?" Matt couldn't believe a cookie could do this much damage in so little time.
He looked about and saw a tray with blackened, oddly shaped objects.
"I ruined them." She sniffed as tears began to fall. "I ruined everything!"
The one thing Matt couldn't take in life was seeing Addison's tears.
He pulled her in his arms, ignoring the squish of whatever she'd spilled on herself and the feel of cold liquid seeping through his clean dress shirt.
Matt pressed a kiss to the top of her head as she cried against his chest. He left his head bent too long in her flour coated hair and ended up sneezing multiple times.
"Oh no!" Addison wailed louder than before. "Now I've made you sick!" She wiped her eyes with the back of her hands. "Christmas is ruined!"
"No, it isn't!" Matt tilted her face up, gently wiping the stray tears that continued to fall. "You're here, right?"
He kissed her forehead.
She nodded while reaching for a paper towel to wipe her nose.
"And I'm here." He pressed another soft kiss to her cheek.
She mumbled an agreement.
"Then it sounds like the perfect Christmas to me." He gave her a tender kiss.
Addison slipped her arms around his neck, sighing when he ended the sweet exchange.
"This is why I love you, Matt." She snuggled within his arms. "You always point out the good things when bad things happen."
He smiled while holding her close.
"It's easy whenever you're around."
She looked up at him. Her typical bright smile appeared once more.
"There's my sunshine girl." He mumbled against her lips. "I was worried she disappeared in the smoke."
She giggled, shaking her head over such a nickname. Her attention was then drawn to the man-made disaster she'd created.
She'd been so sure she would end up being a wonderful baker.
Boy was I wrong, she thought to herself.
"I'm sorry I destroyed your kitchen." Her bottom lip began to quiver as new tears filled her eyes.
"It's no big deal." Matt tugged her back in his arms.
He leaned his head down until he was eye level with her when she began to sniff.
"Addison, I don't care if this kitchen has to be demolished and I have to start all over again with contractors."
"I don't think it's that bad." She mumbled.
He grinned. "I know that and now you do too."
"Okay." She looked up at him. "Now what do we do?"
"I say we leave this room and pretend it doesn't exist for a while."
"Matt!" She giggled even harder as he took her hand and made a dramatic show of sneaking out of the kitchen.
"There!" He playfully wiped his brow. "We made it."
"What am I going to do with you?" Addison asked.
She wrapped her arms around his waist, leaning close to kiss his lips.
"I definitely love where your head is at right now." He said between kisses.
He lifted her up, smiling against her lips when she wrapped her legs around his waist.
"I have to make it up to you somehow." She kissed down his neck. "Not only did I destroy your kitchen--"
"The room that shall not be named." He corrected.
She laughed in the midst of his kiss.
"Not only did I destroy the room that shall not be named, I also ruined our treats for tonight."
"Hmm. That is a problem." Matt pretended to ponder this. "There's only one way to fix this."
"And what's that?" Addison asked.
He placed her on the couch then covered her body with his.
"You'll have to be my treat tonight." Matt replied.

Day 13 Family Dinner

Little Helper
"What are you doing, conejito?"
Matt stood in the kitchen doorway, watching his youngest daughter, Ally, push a stool to the counter.
She smiled at him as she pulled herself up on it. "Helping you."
Out of all his children, Ally was Matt's shadow. He couldn't help but smile that she chose to help him with dinner each night instead of playing with her brothers and sister.
Addison had surprised everyone a few months back, including herself, with a surprise pregnancy. She was teased often by their friends and family that she should have recognized being pregnant for the fifth time at the moment of conception.
Nearing the end of the third trimester during California's heat wave had drained her of energy.
Between Matt and their children, they all tried to help her with anything she needed.
Michael and Marcus were quick to carry laundry baskets and to fetch whatever their mother needed.
Ashley was the miniature general, giving everyone jobs while she monitored Addison's rest and relaxation.
Nothing made Matt prouder than to see his children focus on helping each other while keeping their mother's spirits up.
Three year old Ally was deemed too little by her siblings to do too many chores. Tears filled her big blue eyes (that were an exact replica of her mother’s) at not being able to be of use, breaking Matt's heart. He immediately swooped in and said that he needed a little helper around the house.
And just like that, his little shadow beamed.
"Dad!" Michael ran into the kitchen. "Mom says the baby needs hamburgers tonight."
"Again?" Matt shook his head. With all the red meat Addison was craving, he had begun to tease her that they were having a carnivore.
"Again?" Ally mimicked, placing her hands on her hips.
"Again." Addison waddled into the kitchen. "Sorry everyone, but this baby has some definite opinions."
"Mommy!" Ashley chased after her. "You have to sit down. Daddy says you have to rest."
"I will." Addison opened the freezer door and leaned into it. "I needed to cool off." She closed her eyes and stuck her face further in. "It hardly feels like the air conditioner is on."
Marcus came in, pulling a jacket on. Their one child that seemed extra sensitive to cold backed away from the open freezer.
"Dad? Can I have some hot cocoa?" He climbed up on another stool. "What are we having for dinner?"
"Hamburgers." Ally shyly announced. "Baby needs them."
"Mommy." Ashley whined. "You need to sit down."
"Ash, I'm fine." Addison pulled a tub of ice cream out. "Why don't you and your brothers go look in my sewing room and bring out the boxes that say baby # five?"
The three rushed out of the kitchen.
Matt cocked an eyebrow. "We're telling them tonight?"
"I thought I could wait but I want us to decide once and for all on a middle name. I thought they might want to offer some suggestions." Addison took the spoon he handed her. "You have to admire us for waiting nearly four months without any of them finding out."
Matt kissed her cheek then placed a kiss on her belly. His smile brought out Addison's. "This is definitely a first for us."
Ally was quietly wiping the spot on the counter that she usually helped her father mix ingredients as her parents whispered and laughed.
She pushed her bangs out of her eyes, gave a little impatient huff, then put her hands on her hips. "Daddy! Myles needs hamburgers."
The couple slowly turned toward her.
"How did she--"
"Do you think she overheard--"
"I didn't tell-"
"Me neither."
Ally slipped off the stool and tried to hug Addison's enormous tummy.
"We love you, Myles." She whispered. "And we’re making hamburgers for you."

Part 4
Amanda's Suite, The Beverly Wilshire, the next day...
Thomas stirred when he heard a faint knocking.
His senses continued to slowly awaken, letting him acquaint himself with his surroundings.
When he reached blindly for what would have been his nightstand in his bedroom, his eyes opened on encountering someone's body.
His eyes opened to see his date from the night before, snuggled close.
Memories of the previous night came to the forefront of his mind, bringing a smile to his face.
After dinner, the two had gone for a long drive around Los Angeles. Since neither was quite ready to say goodnight, they had returned to Amanda's suite to watch a movie.
More conversation followed, late night room service, and of course seeing if the sparks were still there when they kissed. They were happy to discover that the sparks had increased beyond what they expected.
Another movie was started and by three in the morning, Amanda had begun to doze off. When she noticed Thomas doing the same, she insisted he stay the night.
The two then climbed into bed, still dressed up from dinner and fell asleep.
Looking at her now in the light filtering in through the crack in the drapes, he couldn't recall when he had wanted to spend as much time as he possibly could with someone as he did with her.
He gently placed a kiss on the back of Amanda's neck, smiling when she turned toward him.
"Someone's at the door." He said softly.
"I'm too comfortable to move." She mumbled.
His smile grew when she leaned forward to kiss him.
"Good morning." She whispered against his lips.
"Good morning." He kissed her again.
Her eyes dropped on his dress shirt and slacks. "I can't believe you slept in that."
He tugged at her dress. "You weren't exactly dressed comfortably for sleeping either."
Her teasing grin appeared. "It seemed rude to change clothes when my company couldn’t do the same."
Before he could respond, a louder knock was heard.
Both sat up and looked toward the door.
"I must have forgotten to hang the Do Not Disturb sign." Amanda scooted out of bed.
Thomas followed her out, running his fingers through his mussed hair.
Thinking it was housekeeping, she opened the door without checking.
Maxwell came inside, smiling at her.
"So? How was it?" His eyes widened at her still in the dress he had picked out for her. "Did you just get home?"
"No, I--"
“You mean you and Ryan, um,” Maxwell shook his head, not really wanting to know about how her night ended. “Are you alone?” He whispered.
He froze when he saw Thomas in his rumpled clothes.
"Good morning." The director greeted.
Amanda cleared her throat. "Maxwell, you remember Thomas."
Her friend narrowed his eyes. "I do." His blue eyes then cut to Amanda. "What happened with Ryan?"
"At dinner we ran into Thomas and Nadia." Amanda began.
Maxwell glared at Thomas. Not only had he been with the one he wanted, he had somehow intruded on his best friend's chance at happiness.
"...Ryan realized we all felt something for people we were not with and decided to rearrange our dates." Amanda continued.
"He did what?" Maxwell paid attention to that last part.
"Ryan figured out that I wanted to date your friend." Thomas explained. "The only reason I went to dinner with Nadia was because it was my sister who had matched us. Nadia and I discussed this at the very beginning of our date." He slipped his arm around Amanda’s waist. "She and I both confessed to having fallen for other people."
Maxwell's furrowed brow smoothed in understanding. His dimpled grin began to form. "So, you and Nadia are…?"
"Are nothing." Thomas explained. "She fell for, well, you."
Maxwell fought his elation and closely scrutinized Amanda and Thomas. He wanted to make certain no mistakes had been made for his best friend.
The first thing to stand out was that Ryan had never looked at her the way the director did. He noticed the way Thomas had his arm around her waist, keeping her nestled next to him. Amanda didn’t seem bothered at all, in fact, she seemed to be drawn to Thomas just as much as he was to her.
He knew when to admit defeat. Amanda looked far too happy for him to insist she give the actor another chance. Perhaps Ryan wasn’t the right one after all.
"Then I'm glad it all worked out despite mine and your sister's interference." Maxwell decided that he, himself, didn’t deserve all the blame for the wrong matchmaking. "I have a brunch I have to get to." He smiled at them. "Enjoy the rest of your day."
"We will." Amanda winked at him once they were at the door. "Talk to you later?"
"You know it." He pressed a quick kiss to her cheek and left the suite.
*****************
The Blvd...
Rachel peeked over her menu at Steve.
Last night had possibly been the best first date she had ever had. Their dinner followed by a night of dancing had been nothing but one romantic moment after another.
And then for Steve to ask her before they parted for the evening to brunch this morning and another date tonight was just the icing on the cake.
She couldn't recall any of her past relationships where the guy was this honest in wanting to be with her.
No games. No waiting around in agony wondering if he’ll call or text. Just a direct and simple, “I want to be with you.”
Rachel felt like she was in uncharted waters. Her doubt that he was being sincere in this sudden attraction threatened to ruin what she currently had. Only more time together would prove whether or not he really wanted to be with her like she did him.
Steve winked at her when he looked up from his menu and noticed her staring at him.
She quickly averted her eyes while her face turned red.
He chuckled at her embarrassment and reached for her hand. "See anything you want?"
Her face turned a darker shade of red before realizing he meant food.
"I'm trying to decide." She mumbled, fighting the shiver down her spine when he brushed a kiss to her knuckles.
She turned her attention toward the other patrons of the restaurant.
Steve gently tugged her hand when he noticed her tensing. "What's wrong?"
"I think I see Nadia," Rachel leaned over the table, eyes narrowing as she tried to see just who her friend was with.
"Oh?" He followed her gaze. "Should we invite--"
"How dare he!" Rachel scrambled out of the booth and marched over to her friend's table.
***************
Nadia wondered if her heart would ever beat properly again. The constant speeding up followed by a number of skips couldn’t be healthy.
When she approached the booth, Maxwell had swept her in his arms and captured her lips in a passionate kiss.
Neither seemed to recall they were in a very public place having their first kiss nor that they had people watching them. Then again, if asked, they probably would not have cared.
All their attention was on each other.
As the kiss continued, a sound drew their attention.
"Ahem!"
Nadia vaguely recognized that throat clearing. When she heard it a second time, she jerked away from Maxwell.
"Rach!" She hugged her friend who was shooting glares from her dark eyes at the man that had kissed her with such blatant abandon. "What are you doing here?"
"We came for brunch." Steve explained, coming up behind Rachel.
He hoped he could keep this from turning ugly.
"Oh my gosh!" Nadia clasped her hands together over her heart. She was thrilled at seeing the man who had been so romantic the day before still with Rachel. "From the way you two look, the date must have gone well."
"It did." Steve slipped his arms around Rachel's waist, momentarily diverting her attention.
"Ooohhhh!" Nadia beamed at him. "I take it my recommendations helped?"
"Immensely." Steve held his hand out to Maxwell, greeting him.
Rachel eased out of Steve's embrace. "What happened with Thomas?" Her eyes narrowed to mere slits. "You recall My brother, right?"
Nadia glanced at Maxwell. "Last night, Thomas and I bumped into Ryan and Amanda." She nervously twirled a lock of her hair. "And, well, we um, we switched dates."
"Switched dates?!" Rachel gasped. "Whose idea--"
"Rach, Thomas and I had a talk before Ryan and his date came in." Nadia explained. Her eyes filled with tears over her friend's obvious anger. "We both have fallen for someone else." She blinked, trying to keep the tears from falling. "Thomas has feelings for Maxwell's friend, Amanda, and I have fallen for Maxwell."
Rachel's angry expression eased into one of concern. "Why didn't you tell me you fell for Maxwell?"
"I tried to. I didn't want to upset you since Thomas is your brother." Nadia sniffed while wiping her eyes. "Plus, I know you love me and only want the best for me. I couldn't ignore your advice, especially after my years of disasters."
Rachel pulled her into a tight hug. "I wanted you and Thomas to find happiness." She leaned back to look at the couple. "If Maxwell," she sent a warning glare his way, "is someone who treats you the way you should be treated, then I'm happy for you."
"Rach!" Nadia hugged her again. "Promise you're not mad?"
"I'm not." She responded a bit hesitantly. "It will take me a few moments to get used to the idea of these new matches." Her smile was a bit rueful. "I can't help but admit it: I selfishly wanted you to end up as my sister-in-law."
"You'll feel differently when you meet Amanda." Maxwell interjected in the hopes of smoothing things over. "She's always been crazy about your brother."
Rachel's narrowed eyes landed on him once more, causing Maxwell to squirm somewhat.
"If I ever see you remotely taking advantage of Nadia's sweetness," she warned, "You better hope I never find you."
Maxwell swallowed a bit nervously. "Okay."
Steve snorted softly with his laughter. "We'll leave you two alone--"
"Let's have a double date!" Nadia interrupted. "We haven't been on one in ages."
Before Stephen or Maxwell could insist that they wished to be alone with their dates, the two ladies were seated and already in deep discussion over last night's dates, possibly sharing entrees, and what other evenings they could double date.
Steve clapped Maxwell on the shoulder. "Looks like you and I will be spending a lot of time together."
For some reason, that brought an even bigger grin to Maxwell's lips. He couldn't recall a time when he had been in a relationship long enough to enjoy something so simple and sweet like a double date.
"Yeah, it does." He sat down next to Nadia and began to talk to Steve about things they could do on their double dates.
****************
Thomas Hunt's home, late afternoon...
"I don't have a lot of time." Thomas explained to Rachel. "I'm picking Amanda up at six thirty."
"When do I get to meet her?" Rachel asked.
"We'll plan something." He said as he searched his closet for something to wear.
"When?" She persisted, following him into his room.
He grit his teeth. "When do you want to?"
"Tonight."
"Not tonight."
"Tomorrow then."
Thomas stepped out and folded his arms. "Did you act this way with Nadia or am I the lucky one?"
"I had a meal with Maxwell and will be going out on numerous double dates to get to know him better." She told him. "You aren't as easily accessible."
"Rachel." Thomas ground out. "One would think that my sister would respect my privacy as I do hers with Steve."
His sister blushed at her date’s name. "But you already know Steve and like him. Shouldn't I be allowed the same with Amanda?"
"Fine." He went to start his shower, locking the door behind him. "You can meet her tomorrow."
Rachel saluted his closed door in triumph. "I have to go. Steve is picking me up." She yelled through his door. "I'll call tomorrow for a lunch date."
*****************
"You're telling me I did it?" Addison pumped her fists in the air. “I stopped those wrong matches form happening?!”
"Looks that way." Steve started laughing when Addison did a victory dance around his office.
"I still can't believe the dates ended before they even began." Holly leaned back in her chair while in deep thought. "Ryan didn't end up with anyone."
Addison slowed her movements. "That's right! Poor Ryan." She tapped her chin, pretending to think about his predicament. "We should probably find a way to make it up to him."
Holly looked up at her. "You think so?"
"Definitely." Steve added. "Nothing bruises an ego like not only losing out on one woman, but then finding that no one had fallen for him.”
"Maybe we should take him out tonight." Addison suggested. "Get his mind off of last night's failure."
"Okay." Holly looked up at Steve. "You want to come?"
"Nope." He grinned at the two. "I have another date with Rachel." He stood and slung his blazer over his shoulder. "In fact, I can predict that most of my free time will include her."
As he strode out the door, his two friends begged him for more details.
He stuck his head back into the room and winked at them. "I'll talk to you later."
***************
A little over a week later, Tommy Phelps's party...
"Phelp's must have invited everyone he has ever met!" Holly yelled out over the loud music.
"He’s been excited about The Royal Romance." Ryan yelled back. He laced his fingers with hers so he wouldn't lose her. "Let's see what's going on outside."
She nodded and held tight to him as they wound their way through the crowd.
***************
Second floor balcony of Tommy’s house…
"I can't believe you righted all those relationships." Matt teased. "I thought you would be like me. I was only thinking about how much I missed you while we were apart."
Addison looped her arms around his neck. "I did miss you." She stood up on tiptoe to kiss him. "Why do you think I got so involved with everyone's love life?"
He chuckled, holding her close. "I think it’s because you couldn't resist having a hand in making sure they met the perfect person."
"That too." She admitted with a proud smile.
The pair looked out over Tommy's backyard at the new couples.
“There’s my latest.” She pointed at Ryan and Holly greeting the Cordonian group. “I finally got them to look at each other like they should.”
Matt quietly observed his two friends as they wrapped an arm around each other.
“And look at Steve!” Addison pointed toward the left. “Who would have thought he could be so smooth and romantic?”
Matt snorted softly while watching their other friend brushing Rachel’s windblown hair out of her eyes. His finger tilted her chin up so he could press a tender kiss to her lips.
Addison sighed. “He is such an attentive boyfriend.”
Matt quirked an eyebrow at her.
“Well, he is.” She mumbled.
“So where’s Rachel’s friend?” Matt asked, deciding he did not want to discuss how wonderful other guys were tonight.
“Hmm.” Addison scanned the backyard. “Oh! There they are! Dancing.” She pointed them out. “Nadia is the one in white.”
“They seem to be having a good time.” Matt grinned at the pair’s smiles.
“Yes, they really are cute together.” Addison slipped her hand with Matt’s. “Almost as cute as we are.”
Matt tugged her close for a kiss. “Alright, I know the real reason you brought me out here was to see your work with Thomas.”
“He has always eluded my attempts at matchmaking.” Addison grumbled. “Who knew that what I needed was for him to be distracted with someone else matchmaking him so that I could swoop in with my own?” She grinned when her eyes found him talking to Amanda. “He never knew that it was me pulling the strings.”
Matt eyed the evil gleam in her eyes warily. “You will use these powers for good, right?”
She looked up at him. “Of course. Just look down there.” She waved toward the evidence of her deeds. “Look how happy everyone is.”
He wrapped his arms around her. “I guess I should have known you only cause happiness wherever you go.” He lowered his eyes to the engagement ring twinkling in the torch lights. “That’s all you’ve brought me.”
“I try.” She teased, laughing when he tickled her for ruining his romantic moment. “Just wait, our wedding won’t be the only one happening this year.”
*************
Epilogue…
Addison’s prediction was correct. Her wedding wasn’t the only one to happen.
Maxwell spent a lot of time the next few months with Nadia in New York. Using the excuse that he needed to be in the United States for his book tour and movie, he found an apartment not too far from his favorite artist.
The night of The Royal Romance’s premiere, he proposed to Naida. Though they had only been dating for about five months, he knew that he would never find anyone like her. She said yes, her heart so filled with love and hope for their future. Their wedding was held in New York with her family and all he loved from Cordonia in attendance. They even invited those they had grown close to in Hollywood.
The star-studded affair drew a lot of attention from the press. Nadia and Maxwell gave numerous interviews about how happy they were together. The next few years of marriage saw the pair grow from a family of two to a family of four. Their smiles and laughter continued as they raised their son and daughter.
Steve continued to do all he could to sweep Rachel off her feet. Together they traveled to romantic cities around the world, appreciating the architecture and each other. When he was offered to teach in Rome, he expressed his wish for her to join him there.
He asked with a four-carat diamond solitaire. Steve explained that he couldn’t stand the thought of not seeing her, having her by his side as he moved into this new position.
She said yes. After a small, private ceremony and with her brother giving her away; the two were married after dating for nearly a year.
They settled into a villa overlooking the Colosseum and enjoyed their first three years of marriage living in Rome. They then returned to California when Rachel was offered her own dream job. They supported each other in all they did as each transitioned in their careers.
They were also a devoted aunt and uncle to Thomas’ s children. With all their interests involving the freedom to travel and move wherever their careers took them, they decided to not have any children of their own. They are completely content with having each other and their extended family.
Holly and Ryan surprised everyone with an elopement in Las Vegas a little over a month after Addison pushed them together. The reason for the sudden nuptials appeared nine months after their first date. What didn’t surprise anyone, was that Ryan and Holly seemed meant to belong together. Ryan needed Holly’s snark and calmness to keep him grounded while she needed his charm and sense of humor to draw her out of her cynicism. Together, they enjoy life with their two daughters.
Thomas and Amanda tried the long-distance dating for the first year. It was difficult at first with having to spend long periods of time apart with nothing but video chats, especially since the two loved to spend as much time as they could together. Thomas decided to shoot his two planned films in Cordonia that year, just to be near her.
Since he was spending so much time in her country, he knew he would need to have a small studio there. What better place to build one than near her duchy? While it was under construction, he proposed to the duchess he had lost his heart to.
The two were married a month after his proposal in St Orella’s chapel with only those they were closest to present. They allowed Ana De Luca to be the one photographer for their wedding.
Amanda wore a wedding gown that Addison had designed for her the moment she knew the duchess was right for Thomas. A year and a half later she would be given maternity dresses that the fashion designer had made just for her.
Addison proudly showed the video she had of when Thomas and Amanda first met at both the wedding reception and to the Hunt offspring that followed. She would whisper to Matt that none of this would have happened without her interference.
Addison and Matt had a wedding that was photographed for every magazine out there. Their ceremony was held at Shutters on the Beach with their nearest and dearest on hand. A noticeably pregnant Holly was matron of honor while Ryan beamed as best man.
The couple were wed six months after everyone was matched. While walking down the aisle, Addison noticed those she had a hand in matching and felt a great deal of pride at the amount of love present for her wedding. The only thing that could take her mind from her greatest triumph was having the love of her life say his vows.
And with that, they all lived happily ever after…

Picture Prompt Request
(Matt Rodriguez x Addison Sinclaire) with the picture prompt
As requested by @krsnlove
Matt x Addison in a Choices Red Carpet Diaries drabble
A/N My bff took my picture prompt and quickly wrote something amazing. Gotta return the favor. Going back to book 2 of RCD when Matt had his accident for this one. Not quite sure why I thought of this with the picture. And forgive me if I mess up the Spanish terms. I took French in High School and college. So...hello Google translate 😂

Mi cielito means "my little sky" and is an endearment usually used by grandparents according to my research.
Song: All I Have to Do Is Dream
Dreaming
It stopped. How strange. First there was the sensation of falling. Then agony. Not one part of my body was without pain. Then blessed unconsciousness. But then someone brought me to just to ask me questions. Broken English with a heavy Russian accent isn't the easiest to comprehend when every single nerve in your body is screaming. I think they mentioned a surgery about to happen. Now I have peaceful nothingness.
Matt decided this void was just what he needed. He might never leave. It was certainly better than the alternative.
"¿Mi cielito?" A soft, sweet voice drifted through the darkness.
Matt turned toward the sound he immediately recognized. It couldn't be. His precious abuela had died nearly fifteen years ago.
"It is you." A woman with silver streaked black hair approached him. A warm light followed her, chasing away the blackness surrounding him. "My handsome Mateo."
Matt shaded his eyes. "Ita?" He whispered the endearment in disbelief.
The short lady stopped a few feet from him and held her arms out. Her beautiful smile that he had inheirted formed. He blinked back tears and ran to embrace her.
"Mi cielito!" She exclaimed again, cupping his face between her hands. She pressed a kiss to his cheek. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm not sure." He looked around now seeing what looked like a courtyard of some sort they were standing in. A fountain gurgled nearby. "Where are we?"
She studied their surroundings. "It looks like my old home." She spun around, laughing. "Mateo, we are where I grew up!" Her rich, brown eyes met his. "Remember when I took you to San Felipe when you were eight years old?"
He nodded. "I do. Dad had to film a movie and you decided we should go on an adventure."
She beamed at him. Her brow slowly crinkled in thought the longer they looked around. "Why are we here?"
"I don't know." Matt rubbed his forehead as he searched his memories. "The last thing I can remember clearly is falling."
"¡¿Qué?!" She gently touched his face and then his arms. "Where are you hurt?"
He chuckled at her fussing over him. "Ita, I think from the height I fell, that I am hurt pretty much everywhere."
She shook her head as tears formed. "You shouldn't be here." She chewed on her lip while plucking at the bottom of her blouse. "Muy joven."
Matt took her hand and led her to sit with him at the fountain. "Ita, I'm sure the doctors are doing all they can."
She hmphed. "Then perhaps you are here for something else." She seemed to cheer at that thought. "Tell me, mi cielito, what is your life like?"
He grinned and explained his film career and friends.
She waved her hand impatiently. "No, no, no! Am I a bisabuela?"
"Ita!" He shook his head. "I haven't settled down yet."
"¿Que es esto? My grandson hasn't married yet?" She nearly screeched. She grasped his chin and turned his face to the left and right. "Impossible. You should have women falling over themselves to marry you."
He couldn't stop smiling at her. "I haven't married because I haven't found the right person."
She tilted her head in that disconcerting way that always made him think she could read his thoughts. "You have, mi precioso niño."
"Ita." He sighed. "She doesn't think of me like that."
"Did you ask her?" She asked.
He shook his head.
She exaggerated a groan and muttered a few insults in Spanish before facing him. She didn't bother to hide her frustration. "My grandson does not let chances go by." She stated firmly. "Now show me this woman."
His brow furrowed. "How?"
She tapped his forehead. "There used to something in there."
He snorted with laughter. "Alright, Ita. Her name is Addison." He closed his eyes while a smile formed. "She has long, golden hair. A pair of the most striking blue eyes I have ever seen. Her smile is warm and enchanting. She is even sweeter than she looks, and--"
"Oh." Ita's whisper of surprise made him open his eyes.
Matt's eyes widened at Addison standing before them. She was wearing a ballgown of shimmery gold that only highlighted her tanned skin, sunstreaked hair, and eyes that he usually found himself lost in.
Addison looked down at herself. "I love my dress you picked for me." She did a few twirls, smiling at the sparkly effect it had with the setting sunlight shining upon it.
Matt's grandmother noticed the darkening sky and attempted to keep her tears from falling. "Our time grows short, Mateo." She pulled him up and led him to Addison. "You must tell her what is in here." She pressed her hand against his chest.
Matt noticed he was in a tux. "Where did--"
She shushed him. "My doing." She smiled at him. "Now, let me see you dance with her as you would during your wedding."
"Ita--"
"¡Espere!" She held a golden tiara in her hands. "Your bride must wear my grandmother's bridal crown." She placed it on Addison's bent head and stepped back to study her. "Perfecta."
"There's no music, Ita." Matt reminded her. "How am I supposed to--"
A melody seemed to come from the very stars that were beginning to appear in the sky. His grandmother would choose The Everly Brothers' song, All I Have to Do Is Dream. He could remember catching her dancing to it with his grandfather in the kitchen.
And the song did seem quite appropriate under the circumstances.
He gazed down at the vision of Addison and smiled.
She stood on her tiptoes and pressed a sweet kiss to his lips while they slow danced.
He held her close as the sky darkened. He glanced at his grandmother and saw her with an expression of pure joy on her face. As the shadows fell across the courtyard, she blew him a kiss.
"Remember to tell her, mi cielito." She said while disappearing.
Addison pressed another kiss to his lips, making them tingle. "Please wake up, Matt." She whispered. Her hand gently cupped his cheek. "I can't stand the thought of this world without you."
Matt leaned in closer to her touch, amazed how real it felt. "Can't we stay here?" He asked, cuddling her closer.
She shook her head, tears forming. "Come back to me. I have so much to tell you." She tilted her head as if listening to the song. "I need you so, that I could die. I love so."
"Addison!" He tried to hold onto her as she began to recede into the darkness. "I love you. I need you to know that."
"Open your eyes." She begged from far away.
He began to feel smothered by the darkness. That initial comfort had disappeared along with his love.
He blinked and felt the rush of pain hit him. He took a deep breath, regretting it immediately when his cracked ribs reminded him they were there. He looked about the stark hospital room and finally saw the blonde head bowed next to his bed.
"Please come back to me." Addison pleaded softly. "I should have told you I loved you but I thought you were in love with Jessica." She sniffed and covered her face. "I can't lose you, Matt."
He tried to move his hand and grimaced at the effort it took to do so. He finally felt her silky hair.
Addison looked up. Her eyes were puffy from all her crying and she had dark circles under them. He wondered how long she had remained by his bedside, how long he had been unconscious.
"Matt?" She whispered.
"Addison." He croaked. He grimaced at that raw sensation in his throat.
She began to make half gasp/half sob noises as she realized that he was truly awake. "Oh Matt!" She took his hand and pressed her lips to it. "I've been so--the call--and Jessica said--" she began to cry harder.
Matt wished he could put his arms around her and comfort her.
She suddenly surged forward and kissed his lips. That familar tingle he felt when in the courtyard sparked against his skin. She backed away and lifted vulnerable eyes to his.
"I love you, Addison." Matt whispered. "So much."
She kissed him again, trying to stop her tears of joy when he deepened the kiss.
She cupped his cheek while whispering her own love for him.
Matt closed his eyes for a moment when Addison left to let the nurse know he was awake. Thank you, Ita, he whispered
When he opened them, he could have sworn he heard his abuela say, "Cásate con Addison y dame un bisnieto. Muchos bisnietos."

A Free Moment
Matt stepped into his trailer and peeled off the soaked t-shirt. He tossed it in a pile with the seven exact others. Today's shoot was brutal in the Miami heat. Add multiple pyrotechnics, and he had been more than happy being blown into the Atlantic Ocean.
With his new status as the number one action star in Hollywood, he had been offered numerous roles. He was terrified to step out of his comfort zone and try something new. What if he lost the chance to act? As much as he wanted to try something with fewer explosives and cheesy lines, he didn't feel the timing was right.
He paused drying off and opened his door.
"Here's the shooting schedule for next week." The assistant director handed him a sheet of paper
"I don't have a scene?" Matt asked.
"Martin thought you could use a break." He replied. "He wants you back the week after."
A grin formed on Matt's face. "Tell him I appreciate it." He shut the door and thought about what he might like to do with his free time.
***********
The next morning...
"Addi!" Shannon exclaimed. "We overslept!"
"Huh?" Addison lifted her head and rubbed her eyes. She reached for her alarm clock and shot up. "No! We missed our flight!"
"I know." Shannon dropped her head in her hands. "I can't believe it. Hunt is going to fail us for missing class. I just know it." Her panic grew. "Addi! We won't graduate in May!"
Addison shook her head. "We'll tell him we needed to stay longer to make sure we accurately depict club life in Miami for our short film."
Shannon flopped back on her pillow. "We are so screwed."
"Shannon!" Addison threw her pillow at her. "Who cares if Hunt fails us?"
"Me! I care!" Shannon argued. "I want to be taken seriously as an actress. Everyone knows if you study under Hunt that you can pretty much walk onto any set and be hired."
Addison hugged another pillow to her chest. "I promise to make this right. You'll become a famous actress. You'll marry another famous actor and have picture perfect babies."
Shannon snorted in her laughter. "Yeah right. 'Cause famous actors like Chris Winters are secretly holding out for someone like me."
"It could happen." Addison mumbled.
"It could." Shannon's brown eyes twinkled with mischief. "Right after I build the first apartment building on Mars."
"You really enjoyed that class project of building our own sets." Addison picked up her phone and silently ran through ways to get Hunt to excuse them.
Shannon sat up. "I know your powers of persuasion are extraordinary, but you haven't ever tested them out on Professor Hunt."
"You're making me so much more nervous." Addison pressed the call button under the grumpy professor's number.
It rang three times before his sharp voice answered.
"Hey Professor!" Addison said in her syrupy sweet voice.
"Ms. Sinclaire." Thomas replied. "I assume you are calling about an extension."
“Wow.” Addison said. “You must be part psychic.”
Shannon slapped her hand to her forehead. Hunt was going to throw them out of the university. She could practically see her degree going up in flames.
"More like that is the only reason students call." He corrected. "What reason are you about to give to keep me from marking zeros next to your name and Ms. Wright's?"
"Remember when we said our film was going to be a romance set amongst Miami's night life?" She began.
"Of course." He grumbled. "I also remember asking why you thought Miami would be the best setting for this story?"
"Ha! Yeah." Addison responded nervously. "Anywho, we decided to spend Spring Break in Miami to work on our film."
Silence was all she heard.
"And we, uh, need another few days to film the final act." She quickly said.
Shannon pulled a pillow over her face. They were doomed.
"I see." Hunt replied in a deadly serious tone.
"I promise, professor, that we have been hard at work this whole time." Addison pleaded. "We wanted our location to add another level to the story: two tourists meet and fall in love, then part ways knowing the promises to see each other again are not going to happen."
Shannon sat up and leaned closer to hear his response.
"Normally I would end the conversation with a do not bother darkening the classroom door. You have to learn that delays should be avoided at all cost when filming." He cleared his throat. "As it so happens, I have to cancel classes next week. I've been asked to be one of the judges for a film festival in Cordonia."
Shannon covered her mouth as she jumped up and down on her bed. Addison bounced on her own at the miracle. "That's awesome, Professor!"
"Yes, well, I expect your finished film to be waiting on my return the following Monday. Understood?" His tone dripped with icy disdain.
"It'll be there." Addison promised. "Thanks again Professor."
He grunted a goodbye.
Addison dropped back on her bed and kicked her feet into the air. "Woo! That was a close one."
***********
Matt sipped his drink while looking out at the packed South Beach nightclub. He had asked around the set on where he should go for a night out and everyone had recommended LIV. It was certainly interesting.
He had already spotted a handful of celebrities in film, music, and even a few athletes. He wished he saw someone that was an actual friend or at least someone he enjoyed being around.
He motioned for the bartender and ordered a refill. His attention dropped to the petite blonde that suddenly appeared beside him.
Her bright smile seemed contagious.
"Two tequila sunrises, please." She yelled out over the music. Her hips moved in time to the beat of the current song. She looked around at the patrons then finally lifted her eyes up at him.
His smile appeared making her blink.
He's...so...wow, she thought.
She smiled back.
He leaned down. "Hello."
Her eyes lowered. "Hi."
"Are you here with someone?" He asked.
"Just my friend." She pointed over where Shannon was. Her friend was dancing near the edge of the dance floor and it seemed that she had caught the attention of--
"Is that Chris Winters?!" Addison exclaimed.
"I think so." Matt chuckled at her shock. "Would you like to meet him?"
She twirled back around toward him. "You know Chris Winters?"
"Yeah, after we did that buddy cop film, Hickey and Marks, we--"
Addison covered her mouth. "You're Matt Rodriguez!"
He nodded. "And you are?"
"Matt Rodriguez!" She repeated in shock. She should have known who he was the moment she saw that sexy smile. "I have a poster of you shirtless over my bed." She dropped her head at that TMI.
"Really?" His smile couldn't get any bigger.
"Er, let's forget that last part." She let out a nervous laugh. "I'm Addison."
He shook her hand. "Want to dance?"
"Are you kidding? Of course!" Addison picked up her drinks and told him she needed to take this over to Shannon first.
He followed her and yelled out to Chris.
The actor looked around before spying Matt. His own highly recognizable smile popped up when he saw his old friend. He glanced at the beautiful brunette who was still oblivious to him.
Shannon looked past him when Addison called out to her. She squeezed past people trying to get out on the floor and ended up plastered against Chris.
Shannon looked up to apologize and froze.
Her shock brought out a chuckle.
"I--I am--so sorry." She stuttered.
"I'm not." He replied, his dimples deepening with his smile. "I have been spending fifteen minutes over here trying to work up the nerve to ask you to dance."
"You--me--here?" She took a deep breath and tried again. "You want to dance with me?"
His arms wrapped around her waist. "I'm just waiting on a slow song."
"Oh my--"
"Hi!" Addison looked back and forth at the two. "I brought Matt Rodriguez and a drink over."
Without taking her eyes off of Chris's face, Shannon took the offered glass. "Thank you."
Addison's lips curved in an excited smile. She just had the most brilliant idea ever. "Chris! How would you like to act out a scene with Shannon?"
"Who?" He mumbled still looking into Shannon's rich brown eyes.
"The one in your arms." Addison pointed out.
"I'd love to." He quickly responded. "As long as you would like me to."
"I would." Shannon managed to say. "It's a love scene for our student film project."
He pulled her closer. "Then we should rehearse."
Shannon’s lips parted with no words in response.
Matt watched his friend with a great deal of shock. Chris never acted like this with women. "He must have fallen hard." He whispered to Addison.
"I think she has too." She whispered back.
She set her empty glass down. "Come on." She took his hand and led him to the dance floor.
**************
The next few days found the four working on the girls' final project before graduation.
Days and nights were filled with getting to know one another and deciding how best to present their film. Matt helped Addison with all the behind the scenes while Chris coached Shannon with her acting. With the guys' input and star power along with Miami's setting, a film worthy to be shown in cinemas was created.
**************
Matt's suite...
"I can't believe it." Shannon threw her arms around Addison. She started hopping up and down with her as they watched the credits roll. "We did it! We made a movie!"
"I know!" Addison squealed some more. "I can't wait to get on that plane tomorrow."
Chris and Matt's delighted smiles dimmed.
"You leave tomorrow?" Matt asked.
The girls froze, realizing what that meant.
"Yeah." Addison's shoulders slumped.
Chris rubbed the back of his neck while looking at Shannon. "I won't be back in Hollywood for at least another two months."
Matt frowned. "A month for me if I'm lucky."
Shannon sat down on the couch. All her earlier joy had disappeared. "Oh."
"We still have tonight." Addison reminded them.
Chris straightened up and walked over to Shannon. "If you guys don't mind, I would like some time alone with Shannon. I--" he paused when she lifted her face up. "We need to make plans for when I return to California."
Shannon looked questionably at Addison and grinned when her friend nodded. "I'll see you back in our room Addi."
Once the couple were gone, Matt sat down beside Addison. "Is there anything you would like to do on our last night?"
She shook her head. "No." Her shy smile appeared. "I've had so much fun hanging out with you."
"Me too." His heartbeat skipping smile popped up. "I know we never really went on a date--"
"No. We didn't." She muttered, not even bothering to hide her disappointment.
"I don't suppose that once I'm back in L.A. that you might want to go out with me." He waited, his eyes touching on her face framed by her sun streaked golden curls.
Her bright blue eyes twinkled with mischief. "I might want to." She leaned closer toward him. "What would a date with Matt Rodriguez look like?"
His arm curved around her shoulders. "Pretty normal. Dinner. Dancing." He lowered his lips close to her cheek. "It's the ending that really makes it special."
She realized she had stopped breathing with that soft kiss touching her cheek. "Really? And how do these typically end."
Matt turned her face toward his. Their lips met and Addison pulled away, suddenly shy.
"You've probably kissed a dozen or so beautiful, talented women." She bit down on her bottom lip. "I'm more of a friend to guys like you--"
He captured her lips again. She melted against him under the passion he was conjuring with such a kiss. He lifted his head and met her awed gaze.
"Sorry Addison, but we will never be friends." He told her, smiling when she yanked him back for another kiss.

Prompt Request/Rachel Green Friends Quote Prompt
(Matt Rodriguez x Addison Sinclair) with the quote, "Come on, Name! Let's go have sex!" As requested by @krsnlove
(Matt x Addison) in a Choices Red Carpet Diaries fanfic.
A/N A little angsty in parts but fluff always abounds with this particular pair 😉

Messed Up
"ADDISON!" Shannon cried out.
She and Holly burst into Addison's West Hollywood apartment.
"I'm in the kitchen." Addison yelled out.
The two friends rushed in there, expecting to see mass amounts of blood, broken bones, perhaps even a severed limb.
The emergency text they had received earlier had said, 911 I'M DYING!
Instead, the two found their friend with an open tub of ice cream, a bottle of rum, and a can of whipped cream.
Holly folded her arms. "I thought you were dying?"
"I am." Addison whined. "I messed up big time tonight." She squirted some whipped cream in her mouth. "I either have to die or move to another country."
"Addi." Shannon slumped over the bar. She held her hand up and put her thumb and index finger close together. "I was this close to getting Chris ready to talk about our future."
Holly softly snorted. "I was sorting laundry." Her usual smirk formed. "I'm all for an embarrassing story."
Addison dropped her head back. "I can't believe what happened."
"Just tell us." Shannon pleaded.
"Remember when I said I was going to that party of Marianne's?" She scooped ice cream in her blender, poured some rum and milk, then added caramel sauce. Within minutes she had the three of them some boozy milkshakes.
Holly and Shannon took their drinks to the couch while Addison settled in her oversized chair.
"I might have made a fool of myself." She began.
**************
Earlier that night...
"...and these are a sample of what the fall styles will be." Marianne flipped through some of her mockups.
"These are gorgeous." Addison gushed. "I can't wait until the Milan fashion show."
Marianne smiled indulgently at her favorite former student. "I'm going to end it with your winter gown designs."
"No! Really?" Addison squealed and hugged her. "I can't believe it! Thank you so much!"
The doorbell rang.
"Enjoy the party." Marianne winked and hurried off to mingle with those that had come in.
"Someone's happy."
Addison spun around. "Evan? Where--when did you get back in town?"
"Yesterday." His bright smile glowed against his tan skin. "I was hoping I would bump into you."
"Really?" She couldn't quite keep the bitter skepticism out of her tone. "When--"
**************
"Hold up!" Shannon interrupted with her hands up in the air. "Evan was there? Evan, I'm the biggest cheating scumbag walking, Richards?
"Yep." Addison shot another burst of whipped cream in her mouth
Holly rolled her eyes. "Your mistake that you are dying over doesn't have anything to do with your ex, does it?"
"Kinda." Addison stirred her milkshake. "Anyway, at that moment...you know who walked in."
*************
"Looks like the tabloids are correct." Evan whispered.
"Huh?" Addison followed his gaze and felt her heart drop.
Matt had arrived with that skank, Elisa, on his arm.
***************
Shannon choked on her drink.
Holly added more rum to her own shake. "You're not wrong. She is a definite skank of the first order. A destroyer of men. A plague upon the innocent. The pain in my a--"
"And let's continue with the story." Shannon quickly interjected. "What is our sweet and precious Matt doing with someone like her?"
*************
Elisa Marinova smiled as she held fast to Matt's arm. The famous model made sure to be on her best behavior while around the movie star.
She basked in the attention she was drawing by having someone like Matt by her side. It was just the change she needed to reinvigorate her career. Her agent could not have given better advice than to pursue Hollywood's nicest guy.
Surely if he appeared to like her then everyone else would and the acting offers she coveted would begin to pour in.
"Can I get you anything to drink?" Matt asked.
"I would love a cosmo." She watched him walk away and smoothly settled within a circle that had a number of producers and directors in it.
***************
"Who was in the group? Was Thomas? Please tell me either he or Marcus was." Shannon begged. "I would love to see them set her in her place."
"They weren't." Addison sniffed and held her glass out for Holly to add more rum. "Tommy Phelps was there and he kept going on and on how he needed her smokin' body in his next film." She took another hit of whipped cream. "The very movie he has cast Matt in."
Holly shook her head. "You still haven't gotten to the embarrassing part."
Addison dropped her head in her hands. "Evan called out to Matt."
*****************
"Rodriguez!" Evan motioned with his head. "Get over here."
Matt's friendly smile firmed into a thin line when he saw Evan's arm around Addison. "Hey. How are you?"
"Good. You?" Addison asked.
"Can't complain." He muttered. His eyes lingered on her a moment then focused on Evan. "How did the shoot go in Prague?"
"Great." Evan replied. He squeezed Addison closer. "Missed a few people while away." He winked at Matt. "Luckily there were a few locals that kept my morale up."
*************
"That sleeze! He actually said that he hooked up with locals while hugging you?" Shannon held her glass toward Holly for another refill. "He--he--somebody needs to punch him!"
"You at least stepped on his foot?" Holly asked. "Stomped on his instep? Quick elbow to the groin?"
Addison shook her head. "Not exactly." She tucked a blonde lock of hair behind her ear.
***********
"So you and Elisa?" Evan said in a low tone. "Nice."
Addison and Matt glared at him.
"How did you manage that?" Evan asked, oblivious to their annoyance.
Matt rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, we aren't exactly--"
"I was afraid you forgot about me." Elisa cooed while settling her arm around Matt's waist. She focused her practiced smile upon Addison and Evan. "I don't believe we've met."
"This is Addison Sinclaire." Matt said. His smile turned tender. "If you're lucky, you have worn at least one if her creations."
"Oh, you're a designer?" Elisa asked. "I don't think I've heard of you." She shrugged with a laugh. "Of course, I do typically work only with the top of the fashion profession."
*************
"That skank!" Shannon hiccupped. "If you ever dress her, I will burn the outfit." She took another sip of her melted milkshake. "Preferably with her in it."
"Shh!" Holly hissed. "I need to hear the embarrassing part!"
**************
"Evan Richards," the movie star introduced himself while Matt and Addison fumed at the intended insult. "Weren't you a Victoria Secret model a couple of years ago?"
Elisa giggled. "I was." Her eyes cut in a coy manner. "You have some memory there."
"One has to in my line of work." His eyes drifted down her figure. "I think it helps to remember someone when they have such distinguishing characteristics."
*************
Holly clapped her hand over Shannon's mouth. "Don't stop!" She commanded Addison.
**************
"My Matt said the same thing." Elisa leaned her body against his side. "Didn't you?"
**************
Shannon ripped Holly's hand off her mouth. "I would give anything to have been there to tell that b--"
"I wish you had." Addison picked up the bottle of rum and poured more into her empty cup. "It would have helped me keep my mouth shut."
"Finally!" Holly slumped back into the couch. She held her glass up with a grin. "What did you say?"
*************
"I don't think I said--" Matt squirmed, trying to be free of her.
"Evan thinks the same about me." Addison declared. "Don't you?" She elbowed him in the ribs.
Evan dragged his eyes from Elisa's chest. "Huh? Yeah, sure do." He smiled down at Addison. "Everyone knows you're cute."
"Addison," Matt's tone gentled. "Can I talk privately to you for a moment?"
"Is it okay with you, Evan?" Addison tried to keep a look of adoration on her face as she gazed up at the slimeball.
"Sure." His lips curved. "I believe Elisa and I can keep each other occupied."
Elisa stood up on her tiptoes and kissed Matt's cheek. "Don't be gone too long."
He untangled himself from her and followed Addison to a secluded corner.
"What did you need to talk about?" She asked.
"You're not seriously back with that jerk are you?" He asked.
Addison narrowed her eyes. "No, but it is tempting."
Matt rubbed his hands over his face. "Addison, I can't stand the thought of you going down that road again."
"Why?" She prompted, hoping he would say what she wanted to hear.
"Because you're too good for someone like him." He replied. "You're one of my closest friends and I don't--"
"Friends." She mumbled. "Is Elisa a friend or something more?"
"I--" he colored some. "She would like us to become closer but--"
"And you talk about my taste in men." Addison folded her arms. "I can't believe you would choose someone like her to date."
Matt's temper flared. "I think of the two of us, your choice is much more worse than mine."
"No one is worse than your gorgeous Elisa." She glared up at him. "I didn't know you were the type of guy to go for looks only."
"I don't--" Matt's jaw spasmed as Elisa and Evan interrupted them.
"Matt, is she upsetting you?" Elisa carressed his bicep. "Why don't you let me take your mind off of everything?
Addison refused to witness Matt leaving with this skank. She grabbed Evan's arm. "Come on Evan. Let's go have sex!"
Matt's jaw dropped. "Addison! Wait! I--"
She jerked Evan along behind her, ignoring Matt's pleading.
Once outside, Evan pulled her into his embrace. "Baby, I knew you couldn't resist me." His lips barely brushed hers. He groaned and doubled over. "What the hell?!"
"Don't ever touch me again!" She yelled, shaking her hand. His abs were not the place she should have hit.
*************
"Wooooohooooooo!" Shannon bounced on the couch. "I'm so loud--cloud--proud of you." She slurred.
Holly narrowed her eyes. "So Matt thinks that you are here with Evan in naked congress?"
Addison nodded after downing her rum. Tears filled her eyes. "Why didn't I tell him the truth?"
"The one where you think he has a cute butt?" Shannon asked with a giggle.
"The one where you secretly write his name and yours in little hearts?" Holly tipped the bottle toward her lips, swallowing down a gulp of rum.
"The one where you have six babies within the first ten years of marriage?" Shannon reached for the bottle while a goofy grin formed.
"Yes!" Addison exclaimed, burying her head in the throw pillows. "He'll never like me like that now!"
"Whatcha doin?" Holly slurred, when she noticed Shannon tapping on her phone.
"Drunk texting." Shannon sputtered, causing both her and Holly to laugh.
"What's Chris saying?" Holly leaned over to read the text and ended up sliding off the couch.
Addison and Shannon laughed until they were crying at the look on Holly's face.
"He's on his way!" Shannon struggled to her feet. "I gotta meet him at the door."
Holly patted Addison on the back. "You be good. We'll check on you tomorrow."
"Thanks." Addison hugged them both. "You guys are so great."
Shannon broke away when there was a knock on the door. "There he is!" She stumbled over, holding the wall when she got dizzy and opened up the door.
"Matty!" She threw her arms around him. "Thanks for hurrying!"
"I was driving past when I got the text." His brow was furrowed as he noticed how drunk the three ladies were. "What's wrong?"
Addison stared at him slack-jawed.
"Addison messed up!" Holly's glasses were askew as she grinned. "She meant to tell you to come here for sex instead of that walking STD."
"Holly!" Addison cried out. She covered her face, praying that everyone would leave.
"We'll go so you two can Mar--hic--Mar--hic--Vin Gaye it." Shannon swayed as she walked out. "G'night!"
Holly followed her while humming Let's Get It On.
He closed the door and silently studied Addison.
She twisted the bottom of her pajama top while avoiding his eyes. "Have a seat."
He stepped into her living room and bent down to pick up the rum bottle. "Seems like you had a better party here."
"Heh. Yeah." Addison mumbled.
Matt sat down in a chair near where she sat on the couch. "Addison, I--"
"Matt, I--"
They both hesistated. She motioned for him to go first.
"I'm not with Elisa." He explained. "She asked me for a ride to the party and I didn't know how to get rid of her."
Addison looked up at him. "Thank goodness. She's such a skank."
Matt snorted and coughed on his laughter. "Anyway, Shannon's text said you needed to tell me something important and that I had to rush over."
"Oh." She rubbed her sweaty palms on her pajama pants. "Well, I'm not with Evan. And I didn't have sex with him." She shuddered. "Makes me want to throw up thinking about it."
Matt smiled at her. "Good. I'm not sure what the masculine form of skank is but he is definitely that."
Addison giggled and looked up at him. "I'm so glad you're back home."
"Me too." He murmered. "Why don't you get some rest and I come by tomorrow? We can spend the day at the beach. Go by that Chinese resturant you love so much for dinner." He gently cupped her cheek. "There's something I would like to talk to you about."
She searched his eyes for some clue to what he wanted to talk about. "I'd like that."
His smile made her own form.
He pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Me too." He wished her a goodnight and opened her door.
Addison scrambled off the couch and called out to him as he headed toward her building's elevator. "Did Shannon text anything else?"
Matt nodded. "She did."
Addison quirked an eyebrow in silent question.
The elevator chimed and the doors opened. Matt smiled at her as he stepped into it. "She said we needed to finally admit how in love we are."

“What are you doing, conejito?”
Matt stood in the kitchen doorway, watching his youngest daughter, Ally, push a stool to the counter.
She smiled at him as she pulled herself up on it. “Helping you.”
Out of all his children, Ally was Matt’s shadow. He couldn’t help but smile that she chose to help him with dinner each night instead of playing with her brothers and sister.

I CANT WITH THIS FIC 😭
Mattie’s culture coming in strong in this one and I loved every bit of it. I took Spanish in junior high but always skipped it so I’m useless to the Spanish terms used besides Abuela 😅...looked right to me 🙊😅
Idk much about the storyline and Matt’s injury but so glad it brought these two together.

You are the best bestie M! Just in case I don't brag on you enough 😍 And I LOVED THIS!
I could picture Thomas right off the bat wanting the night to be over before it even began 🤣
I'm sure Matt, Ryan, and Seth (and even sweet Chadley) were all thinking the same thing with his attitude 😂
And Addison 💀💀💀😂😂😂 I so headcanon her getting into this.
Ryan and Holly's death match 😂
And then the surprise for Thomas *squeal* even from here seeing how happy he was to see Amanda 😏
This made me smile and laugh the whole time. Thanks again M!
Friendly[ish] Competition
A/N: Dedicated to the bff @alj4890 who has been dealing with things I’m unsure how any human being can function at this point but—this ones for you, A! Feel better ASAP! I need chapters 👀🙊😂💀JK [ish]
Also, this is for the @choicesmaychallenge for day 6: Rescue. Poor Thomas can’t catch a break.
Enjoy!
Ryan hovers over the bench, tying the laces of his shoes.

Matt stepped into his trailer and peeled off the soaked t-shirt. He tossed it in a pile with the seven exact others. Today’s shoot was brutal in the Miami heat. Add multiple pyrotechnics, and he had been more than happy being blown into the Atlantic Ocean.
