whew i was going through it last year. i wasn’t using tumblr much but i had no outlet to vent my frustrations, but i kept it in my drafts.

this was the beginning of my villain era, i’m the evil daughter-in-law that won’t let me or my husband be taken advantage of. it’s frustrating when adults who are older than me really thought they could move in and just sit around and smoke all day. i didn’t really want them to move in with us in the first place but we were struggling and needed the extra help.

also to explain the car situation better, my husband gave said family member a car he owed only $1500 left on (family pressured him to do it) with the promise that they would pay on time and pay the insurance, because we had just bought another car and didn’t need it. in florida if car insurance isn’t paid for a car in your name your license gets suspended (even though we had separate insurance for our 2 other cars). they did not tell us they weren’t paying it, and my husband fucking drove for a living back then. like this person literally had no bills other than a $20 phone bill, so there’s no reason they couldn’t pay. they never apologized either. when i tell you i almost got arrested that say cuz i was ready to 🤛🏻💥

I like to headcanon that Melog is just the biggest busybody. It's been bored and alone on a dead planet for decades with no one to talk to, the mundane day to day drama of other people is such a novelty to it, it can't get enough. Plus it can become invisible and doesn't have a great grasp of privacy so it's forever listening in on conversations and generally getting way too invested in everyone's personal business.

Which means Catra, to her vast dismay, knows everyone's secrets. She would really REALLY rather not and has tried to teach Melog about boundaries but the creature does what it wants. But it means that sometimes she finds out about some misunderstanding or missed connection going on that is so downright stupid that it's just going to drive her nuts if she lets it continue so she begrudgingly has to insert herself into this drama to match-make or clear up an argument literally just so she doesn't have to hear about it anymore.

Which means, to her absolute horror she gets this reputation of being near psychic, so good at resolving personal drama that people come to her with their problems no matter how she tries to deter them and meanwhile it's really because Tealog over here is addicted to gossip.

I just watched the movie A Real Pain and it made me cry and my right sinus is blocked now and I'm sleep deprived and it got me thinking a lot.

Everyone's pain is so real, and so uniquely their own, and cannot compare to each other's or 'worse' stuff and it's stupid to try, because they're all just different. And yet. They're the same. We're the same. We feel pain. We show it in a multitude of ways. Some people hide it. Bottle it up, "tuck it away" and "carry on" "moving forward" "take a pill" "swallow it down" but it's there. It shows through the cracks. You hold on so tight your fear is in every line of you. You let it out in overwhelmed bursts and you apologize for burdening people with the weight of it. Because you know they have their own to bear, because it can't compare. Because you're not supposed to pity yourself or feel bad for yourself or sound like you think your feelings are more important than anyone else's, can't be selfish. Can't feel. And then there's the honesty you can't avoid. The people who see right through you, right into you, deep down in the dark of you. Because that's where they live too. Because they see your pain and they feel it too. Because they have their own. And it's a piece of the same tapestry. Ripped up into threads and sewn into all of us. Through time and space and generations. We have the pain of humanity woven into our souls, the past, our past, their past, your past. All of it. Everyone's, everywhere, all at once, is, was, and will be. It's all there. We feel it. The honesty of feeling it for others to show, the tears and snot and suffering in the moment, the pity and the sorrow and the self indulgent feeling washes over and through and out of you. It's so heavy, and yet when you let yourself feel it, it somehow gets lighter. When you let yourself share it, it's somehow not a burden you have to bear alone, but a way to bare your soul and connect, let people see you, understand and see themselves in your reflection.

My eyes hurt. My sinus is clear again finally. I'm so tired. And I'm hurting. I've distracted myself from it for a long time and yet it's never gone, I never really forget. But it's lighter somehow when I open the shutters and let the darkness meet the light of day.

my mom was tryna tell my dad her work drama but he kept falling asleep so she was getting mad but i was listening bc i love the drama so i was nodding along so then she got excited and started telling me and then i was like “oh i should get ready for class” and she visibly got disappointed so i was like “oh but we’re just doing research today so i can do it from home” and she literally nodded like “yes you might as well stay home if you don’t have to go. don’t waste gas” and went right back to gossipping 😭💀
