Pickup artists insist on the importance of "avoiding the friendzone" because having women as friends would make it easier for you to understand exactly why what pickup artists say is total bullshit.

Even if you only care about getting laid, having women as friends would only help you. Even if a specific woman doesn't want to have sex with you, she could easily be beneficial for your quest to get laid. You can still listen to her talk about what men do that make her uncomfortable so you have an idea for what you can avoid doing yourself. She could easily have a friend who wants to have sex with you, or eventually have a friend who does. When women see that you have women as friends, they're more likely to trust you because it shows that women feel safe around you.

And that would render pickup artists obsolete. And they wouldn't like that.

The New Mutants deal with a pickup artist

For some reason, the fictional Barry Thee Artist was invited to the First Hellfire Gala. He tries his bullshit on Magik who straight up threatens to cut his hands off. He does not take the not so subtle hint.

Karma arrives to hang out with her friends and Barry uses ableism to neg her. He's just the worst.

He tries to 'bro down' with Warpath and even Warlock thinks he's disgusting. Karma uses her powers to have him dump drinks on his own head, and his ego can't take that.

When he escalates instead of taking the exit provided for him, Karma shocks him speechless with a truth bomb or two. 'Be grateful for your lack of importance' is brutal and pretty damn satisfying. This piece of shit isn't real, but there are many men like him. They see women as things to be possessed and manipulated instead of people. Keep in mind that they're losers and don't let them close, watch out for your friends.

I kinda wish he came to the third Hellfire Gala so we could see him get murdered by Nimrod, but Karma's clapback is brutal enough.
