I'm back! Kinda! Did you miss me I hope you did - I come bearing gifts of the Rift! Convex variety below the cut. No warnings, I don't think.

 The sun was a deep warmth on Scar’s back as he gently stroked his fingers through Cub’s hair. They were grey and sharp, betraying his own comfort of being around his soulmate. Vex elders be damned, he deserved this.

Cub’s soft snoring stopped some time ago, but Scar didn’t really take note of it. If he wanted to lay in bed pretending to be asleep for just a little bit longer, that was his prerogative. A vex wing stretched over Scar’s chest, draped loosely over bare skin. This felt right to Scar. Blatantly.

He should be allowed to have this always. He knew Cub would, eventually, decide they were too close. That they were being too risky. Flee in the night like the vex he was, disappear ever again. Scar wished he could convince Cub he could keep both of them safe. They had Mumbo, they had friends in high places, they had the whole town. What trouble Scar experienced over the years was miniscule at best.

Deep and piercing green eyes settled over Scar’s features and whatever he had been worried about melted from his mind. Cub was one of the most beautiful people Scar ever saw, and he’d seen many of them over his multitude of lifetimes. His vex said nothing but gave a little groan of awareness. Scar smiled.

“Hello there, my world,” he said. Fondness rumbled in his chest like thunder. He got another little groaned laugh as Cub moved closer.

“My end…” Cub muttered softly into the fabric of the bed, letting Scar move to follow. He found Scar’s hand and pressed a kiss to the back of it. “You know, I think it’s a little early to be staring at me.” Cub’s voice was soft, ladened heavy with sleep. Scar moved, wanting to breathe the same air as his counterpart.

Cub shifted now, reaching and brushing Scar’s hair from his eyes. By their centuries together, Scar could tell he was being studied. For what, it didn’t matter. There was no way to tell what Information Cub was after or what he wanted to use it for.

He rolled forward and pressed a kiss, soft but deep, into Cub’s mouth. The hand that was gently brushing hair away tightened its grip and Scar let out a soft sound.

Cub pulled back, smug and sure as he turned his attention away from Scar. “Tree’s growing in nice,” he said. His tone was casual, as though he was talking about the weather. The hand remained in place. Scar nodded against the slight tugging at his scalp.

“Yeah – yeah.” Scar couldn’t keep the affected tone from his voice, something turning sharp and possessive right at the end. “Should be a good home in a few years, with the right touch of fae magic. Mumbo is looking for his own place so, you know, could be nice and private-“

“Don’t you think that’s a little too obvious.”

Scar’s chest panged. The same breath that carried those words saw Cub’s hand drop from his hair. Cub’s face was more serious now, as he watched the town come to life outside the window. Whatever moment they were having was over.

“I think it would be good to grow roots! Set up something to protect ourselves. And with Mumbo’s help-“ Scar couldn’t keep the desperation out of his voice as his Body followed Cub, tensing and drooping all the same.

“I have to go.” Cub drew from the bed quickly, moving fast to leave no room for argument. Scar’s throat made an involuntary noise of protest, but he knew better than to argue the issue. Stronger.

Still, he followed Cub, leaving the warmth of the bed to press one last and desperate kiss to his partner. “Be safe,” he begged. He did not notice if Cub nodded before watching the vex creature take shape and disappear in a mere second.

Synopsis

We got Volo!! I've been thinking about Mahoumas again now that my school workload is lighter, so I finally got to draft Volo's champion design. Worst to ever do it, can't wait to draw him fighting our main duo.

Since I've had time to think about it, I've also done some more refining on where the magic comes from. Essentially in this AU, legendaries are such powerful divinities that just being in a place will cause immense damage to the nearby environment and creatures as a result of the energy they let off. In ancient times they would "resolve" conflicts by whaling on each other, which would obliterate any nearby settlements and mess up the ecosystem. Arceus then decided that the best way to protect all his children would just be to simply stop them from doing that by only allowing proxies to fight.

The basic idea is that a legendary has a divine champion (diplomatic assistant) that meets with the champions of others in order to discuss and settle issues. This ensures no region ending damage and also makes sure that decisions aren't rash, spur of the moment actions. The champions are protected under the rules too; once in contract to a legendary, they aren't to be attacked or harmed by other champions unless they've already been cleared and confirmed for trial by combat. There's some other specifics too but in essence they're basically just there to keep the peace and represent their divinity.

What makes Volo different (and such a pain to deal with) is that he's Giratina's first champion, so he got a lot more benefits that champions generally shouldn't have. Giratina had never had to set up a champion before, plus was excited to have one after eons, so Volo was lavishly spoiled. Since Giratina doesn't talk to other legendaries, he was also pretty much unchecked and just doing whatever he wanted without any regulation. This is a problem in general but it is especially troublesome when another champion (cough, Ingo) tries to revert the "corrections" he's making.

Anyways bonus doodle: since he was the first, Giratina wanted a little whimsy for him.

so how does wild sign since he lost an arm? does he use a modified version of sign? did raurus arm decompose after totk ended? did it just disappear? does his zelda have any draconic features left over?

what minish/wolf features do twilight and mini have? i havent played minish cap yet but i think the minish are really neat!!!

Summary:

There was a tug. Cold though it was, it filled Scar with a warmth all its own. He couldn’t exactly say he was happy to be where he was, given the circumstances, but any excuse to see Cub, especially before he was supposed to, was a welcome one. Scar followed the glowing ball of light as it exited from his chest. It was the only thing visible in the staticky space of the void. He spread his fingers and felt the familiarity lap at the place between them. It licked at the nape of his neck, and he let it enter his mouth and nose and fill him entirely before taking a step forward.

I wanted to do a scar chart for my boys, not only to know where scars are, but also to figure out body types! I struggle a lot with unique body types so this is a challenge, but that’s fine! Challenges are good.

With Sky, I wanted him to have a more softer but strong look to him. He’s very strong in the game, so his arms are pretty toned. But he has some tummy cuz he just doesn’t care about looking toned or anything. He does what he wants. He has a lot of various scars here and there, but the biggest one is from his battle with demise.

Minish is a blacksmith and is very strong with his arms and chest. He’s short but he’s very toned. A lot of his major scars come from Vaati.

Time is the strongest on the team. He’s tall, he’s buff, he’s done farm and ranch work for the past 10 years, he’s terrifying. Idk what happened to his head but pls ignore how small it is. The sketch made his head really big so I shrunk it so he’d still look tall and now he looks ridiculous 😔 [EDIT: I can’t take it anymore. I had to change his head size. It looks normal now] he doesn’t have a lot of scars from his actual adventures. His body traveled back in time but his mind stayed in place, so a lot of injuries that would scar didn’t. The only scars he has is from his final battle with Majora. All other scars are from his time at lon lon and other scars he got as a kid. Also I gave him my issue with super itchy legs. I have them scars myself UwU

Legend has powerful legs, so they’re much stronger than the rest of his body, but he’s well toned thanks to his sword fighting abilities. I… haven’t played or am familiar with his games save for la so his scars are kinda lame, but let’s just say that he did a good job at keeping big scars from scarring. (This is a half joke but he has a burn scar from Aganhim on his butt. For obvious reasons you can’t see it)

Totem has very strong shoulders and arms thanks for all the totem times he did. So he has a strong upper body. He should probably work on leg day tho. He has two injuries from accidents regarding totem time (falling on his face while being the guy on top and having someone’s boots scuff his shoulder) but he’s a totem master now!

Rift only has rift-shaped markings on his body, and he’s a very lanky kid. He’s a bit toned in his arms and chest thanks to sword fighting but that’s about it. He doesn’t focus that much on his body anyways.

Hyrule is a very small and skinny kid, with some muscle showing on his arms thanks to swords fighting. But generally he’s small, which is good for him cuz that makes hiding easier. A lot of scars from his first adventure.
