#sewing#skirt is Salix by Unendlich Schön#lengthened by a full 30 cm#because yolo#bodice is from the Riviera dress by Lotte & Ludwig#straight neckline and no fake button placket#fabric is Aina from IKEA#and a lil square of jersey in the back#you're supposed to not wash the linen on normal#and don't put it in the dryer#whoops#it's now soft as a cloud#skirt go spinny#I might need to get more of this fabric#also 10/10 would recommend just straight up replacing a back panel with jersey instead of putting in a zipper#you do have to gather (part of) your skirt onto elastic but that's still more idiot proof to sew or wear than an elastic#and yes#there's pockets#smaller than intended#but still plenty big for my phone and wallet#i then showed my creation to a sewing friend who loves skirts that are knee length or higher#she said she would immediately wear that dress if it were half as long#GOOD NEWS#it's supposed to be#and you can even make it a patchwork pattern#we're not gonna talk about how long this took to hem#pictures taken outside because it was the first warm day of the year#and also because I can't spin it safely while indoors#i could remake it in manic cartoon but it would cost at least twice as much

Trying to gently remind myself that I've only been at this job for 2 months (as of today) so it's okay that I'm still learning. It's okay that I don't know everything yet and that I still have to ask questions. It's okay that I occasionally feel out of place and lost. It's only been 2 months. I haven't even had my 60 day review yet. It takes time to get to the comfort and knowledge level the rest of the team is at. I will get there. And I need to keep reminding myself that at my 30 day review, my manager said I'm doing great and that I'm learning things faster than expected. So I'm not failing. I'm not slow. I'm not dumb. I'm doing great. Everything is just fine. So fucking relax yourself, brain, okay? Chill out please. I just hate the feeling of not knowing how to do my job (especially because it's a customer service job and customers turn on you fast and that scares me) so I'm trying to rush myself and it's making me anxious. If my managers had any issues with my performance they'd let me know. I'M DOING FINE.

#fun story#i ordered 3 things from hot topic. they shipped but never arrived so a couple weeks later i messaged them abt it#and went back and forth with them for a while bc their customer service agents cant read apparently#before being told i had to call bc one of the things i ordered went out of stock and i was replacing it w smth more expensive#so i call and im on the phone for like a fucking hour missing the 15 minute window i have to eat between jobs#and being on the phone at work for a while lmao#i finally get it done and the guy fucking forgets my apartment number in the shipping address. it's in the billing address tho??#so i email them AGAIN and im like yo your man forgot my apartment number. they cancel that order and place another#the effect this has is that the $14 payment for the more expensive item is cancelled as well. bc again they don't read#so im like sick i will effectively get these $60 pants for $15 (im very good at sales and also manipulating customer service)#but apparently when they replaced the order they put ny apartment number not in the address‚ but as part of my name?????#so i think its fucking up usps. but it came in 2 packages and 1 has arrived so i still have hope. but thats not the end#yesterday guess who fuckin calls me. its hot topic. my original order arrived to the fuckin store in my local mall#and theyre like i think we fucked up bc we just found this package but it says you picked up your order already. do u want it#and i was like yes? not really sure what package to be expecting and its my ORIGINAL FUCKING ORDER#so once this package arrives i will have gotten 2 of the same shirt‚ 2 kiki sign things‚ a sweater‚ and a pair of pants for $40#and i figure i can return one of the shirts and one of the signs that i have duplicates of for store credit of their full price#so anyway yeah. thats been the past 3 weeks for me.

I have no idea why people send parts that don't match the listing. "aaaah looks close enough" my brother in christ it does not fit what I bought it for and is unsuitable as a replacement part! It's not likely that the buyer won't notice!

THE PART THAT MAKES IT WORK)#worst part is I CANNOT work out where I ordered the previous one from (that DID fit)#aaaaaaaaaaaa and I only found out it didn't match when I was about to instaaaaaaaaaall it. I may not be good at repair/handyman stuff but I hate spending money and I refuse to replace things until they are literally unusable so I convince myself I can fix things. that’s my one toxic male trait
#I’ve sewed up holes in a sock until there was literally not enough sock left to sew together. multiple times#I held onto an iPhone 6 for years. it had less than 2hrs of battery life by the time my mom bought me a new phone without me knowing#I replaced the wifi card in my computer not at all knowing what I was doing. it was a 3rd party part and required masking tape to work#i will fix it with tape and craft glue and thread or it is staying broken#I do not trust a single repair person any more than I trust myself. this is also why I cut my own hair#i know it’s going to be fucked up and if I do it myself at least I won’t have paid for it#also if smthn has cosmetic damage but still works I’m not fixing it???#like my proudest moment is still convincing a body shop not to paint my replacement bumper#bc why would I pay $300 just for my car to be all one color#’it has a crack in it’ ‘it has stains’ ‘it’s faded’ but it still works?? it doesn’t need to look perfect to work??

Getting your payment a day early but being unable to pay rent that's due tomorrow because your phone is in the repair shop for who knows how long (they closed today still having my phone) and your bank's site never works on your desktop for some reason
#I messaged landlord-roommate about it and he saw but never responded#I miss my phone#it finally stopped charging all together and died this past Monday#theta was kind enough to take it to the repair shop but they had to order a replacement charging port#and because of Baltimore's ungodly delays in the mail that's warranted a congressional investigation#the part only came in today and they didn't call before they closed saying the repair was finished#hopefully it's fixed by tomorrow because they're closed Sunday#I've already had one friend contact theta in a panic because I hadn't responded to the convo in days#I'm worried my clinic has been trying to check up on me because they know I was in the E.R. last Friday night#I can't remember if theta is my emergency contact or if they'll do a welfare check on me#Also I need to ask my PCP about potentially writing a new prescription for my pneumonia meds because I ran out of one#and am about to run out of the other#and I'm still a sick. doing better tho#but we'll see how long that lasts without meds#anyway I miss my phone
