Some rampant crust fungi making fantastic shapes while overgrowing moss. It's probably Phlebia rufa again, or maybe Phlebia radiata.

Possibly Phlebia incarnata. Difficult to narrow down IDs when all I have to go by are my photos and can't look at the mushroom itself anymore. Many of them are only differentiated by the tiniest details.

Hello :) I recently brought down a dead limb on my 70+ year old willow oak, in the south-eastern US, and saw some interesting lichen I don’t recall seeing before. The gray-blue lichen grows on all the trees, predominantly on north-facing sides of trunks. But this orange lichen, which I thought was fungus when it was still 25-30’ above me, is one I don’t think I’ve ever seen. It seems to only be on the dead wood. I would love to know more about it :)

The orange one is not a lichen, but is some sort of saprophytic fungus. You can tell in part from how it is growing out of cracks in the bark, and from its general puffiness. Maybe Phlebia radiata?

Golden splash tooth 》 Phlebia subceracea
This seems to be an early-mid stage of this crust fungus, before it has developed its elongated teeth! (㇏(•̀ᵥᵥ•́)ノ)

what's ur favorite kind of mushroom (edible or not)?
this is a hard one bc im heavily biased towards golden oysters right now... their bright yellow color and shape and texture and flavor are all so appealing to me and they make me smile big whenever i see them. but i recently discovered phlebia incarnata in my backyard and am always on the hunt for more because of its sweet pink color/fuzziness

(not my pics)
i also hope one day to see bloody tooth fungus!

Not far enough into Consider Phlebias to judge properly but from what i know of Culture minds being:
- massive computers advanced enough to calculate a safe path through the nuclear explosion literally of their own detonated ship and briefly transcend physical space
- infamous and annoying sense of humour
- communists?
They seem eminently fuckable. Will continue on with this in mind
