Hello mycologists, mushroom foragers, and general fungus lovers, can anyone help me identify this shelf mushroom?

It's growing on a sugar maple tree in the midwest United States and seemingly popped up overnight. The tree is healthy and has a full canopy, but the spot it's growing from is an old scar. The mushroom is very big, probably about the size of my hand (I did not touch it!!)
