Loki probably thinks he’s good at holding grudges, but really he’s so bad at holding grudges he can barely do it at all and I don’t think the fandom revolves that in our minds enough. Like when Thor leaves him getting shock-tortured and 2 hours later he pops up and doesn’t even bring it up, just worries about Thor’s eye and saves the day by accepting the resurrect-Surtur-suicide-mission.
Loki: I’m so so good at holding grudges. I stand up for myself. I don’t forgive and never forget. I am getting a good grade in vengeance. I’m getting revenge right now this very instance!!
Thor: you’re monologuing again
Loki: MALEVOLENT MONOLOGUE OF GRUDGE-HOLDING!!

my post series recommendation is that if you've never listened to the orchestral version of hero by faouzia while thinking about Wilhelm and Simon's utter trainwreck of a romance, you should. I think you should.
#shows#young royals#I have loved this show truly#and it can never not be political for me given where I grew up and my own convictions but I don't think the crew copped out of the politics#maybe it's a gentler version of the story than reality would allow but it's a wonderful example of#thoughtful naturalistic visual storytelling that is largely uninterested#in overexplaining or justifying it's narrative#while still remaining loyal to it's thematic baseline#I'd love to actually get around to some of that meta I vauged about post s2 on class and setting and possibly I will in May#when I have room for thoughts#because I do still want to make my points about how the personalisation of politics usually makes people blind to the systemic issue at han#which I think the show balanced pretty nicely#if you grew up or are growing up in a constitutional monarchy and you're not really engaged with your local republican movement#maybe now would be a good time to start thinking about it#a lot of people think 'well it's an archaic system so it should go' and leave it at that but the issues run so much deeper#than who the head of state is and this stuff is really worth considering if this is the political system the currently defines your future#anyway I'll put my praxis down for the time being#and just take a moment to appriciate this fantastic variation on the age old theme#isn't love really just a form of madness#like doesn't first love just kind of make you utterly lose your mind in a way that could conceivably bring empires to their knees#in all of it's single minded innocence and utter irrationality#cause yeah....yeah I remember that

TELL ME 5 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT YOURSELF!
(Let's try and pass this thing on) And after you finish, tag five different people just to tell them how much you appreciate them for being with you on this platform! <3
thank you @sarcasticqueerblob for the tag! decided to make my own post because the original post is long & my contributions will make it worse, HAHA.
i tag @paimonial-rage @mimi-cee-genshin @andromeda-nova-writing @pen-observing @dustofthedailylife (just nice. i only know 5 people on his hellsite AHDJSJDJSJKD. no pressure btw)
i can only write chronologically. by that i mean in the order the fic will be read. i've tried writing the middle or end before the beginning, but it didn’t click with me.
most of my works were written while i’m travelling. i love being alone for long train/bus rides because it’s the perfect pause to retreat to my inner world.
i started reading fanfics on wattpad in 2013. i don’t remember how i found reader inserts, but it’s wattpad. so… :P
i draw! it’s not great, but it’s something. now i just got to dip my toes into music production (e.g. lo-fi, instrumentals) and then i can take the first step to be the triple threat younger me always wanted to be for storytelling.
i started a tumblr in… early 2010s? unfortunately, i deactivated that account, which would have been an amazing time capsule. i wasn’t thinking much when i let it go.

comforting love
ft. Price, Soap, Gaz, Simon
⋆ ˚。⋆ fem pov ୨୧˚ warnings: none {wc: 778} ༄ I just love sweet tf141
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thinking about being Price's wife and the rest of the guys just love you. Honestly they adore you before even meeting you, just glad the Captain’s found someone that makes him gush like a teenager just talking about you to them.
And then when they meet you, they totally get the way he acts now. You were so sweet, even bringing them all personalised care packages based on things Price had told you about them. You had said you were bringing Price one and felt bad leaving his boys out, especially when they all probably missed home whilst at base.
For some, it was a cute gesture, one not too unfamiliar. But to Simon, receiving something made with such care from someone was foreign.
He thanked you and tried to act indifferent but as soon as he was in the barracks, he was studying everything inside. Some much needed snacks and drinks, a small cute hand painted cartoon ghost figure typical as well as a new journal and a fancy pen that he had no idea how to use. Price must’ve told you he’d began journaling to help his thoughts.
Everyone managed to move on pretty quickly from the thoughtful gifts they received but Simon really cherished it. He ended up having a heart to heart with Price one evening about it after one too many drinks, a few tears even making an appearance, that he claimed was allergies.
A night that Price told you about, the memory of it surfacing as you visited the base again and as you greeted them all, Simon just gave you a really long and silent hug. You didn’t know exactly what he was thinking, but you let him have this moment and he was grateful for it.
Then there was Gaz. Typical sweetheart. Always complimenting you, a kiss to your hand here and there, maybe even a friendly kiss on the cheek, earning a chuckled “Don’t try and steal my missus.” from Price.
And when you returned a compliment one time, he couldn’t find any words for a good few minutes, cheeks burning hot before clearing his throat and mumbling an almost shy, slightly inaudible thank you.
He’s always asking Price how things are with you and what you’ve been up to when the group doesn't see you for a while.
He jokes that he can live vicariously through Price and hoping one day he can find someone as sweet as you. And when you hear about this, you’re tempted to set Gaz up with a friend of yours but Price convinces you that it’s an awful idea so you refrain.
And of course Gaz sends you flowers for valentines day along with a sweet note and a thank you for keeping their beloved Captain happy.
“How big was the bouquet?” John asks,
“I don’t know, normal size?” you question,
“Not bigger than mine?” he adds,
“No.”
“Good, can’t have Gaz upstaging me like that.”
And of course, Soap. Shameless flirting right from the start and awful cheesy jokes on top of that. He was exactly the way Price described him, if not amplified about a thousand times more in person.
“I mean ma name’s John too, I’m like basically halfway to being your husband anyway.”
The guys appreciated his jokes but they could only hear them for so long before losing their mind. So when you were on base, he was running through every joke and story in his head so he could hear actual genuine laughter at his humour.
And by the end he was definitely addicted to the sound, a tiny bit jealous that Price gets to hear it so often, even if he would never admit it.
“So for her birthday, I was thinking we could get the second instalment of that book she loves.” Soap says with a grin.
“I know what to buy my wife Soap, I’ve got it covered.”
“Alright, well I know the lass well enough now to give you great suggestions, you should listen.” Soap mumbles as he adds the book to his basket, followed by a few more, earning a pointed stare from Price.
When you were visiting Price on base, you gave all of the guys a home away from home and they all appreciated you massively.
You visited for your husband of course, but you got to know them all, looking out for them as well. Making them feel loved even when you didn’t need to.
“So when do we get to see our girl-” Soap begins,
“My girl.” Price interrupts with a warning stare.
“Our girl.” Gaz repeats Soap's words.
“Yeah. They’re both right, Cap'n. Our girl.” Simon adds.

James: Ooh here’s a story I like to tell people before we started dating. Even Regulus doesn’t know it—
Regulus: I know it.
James: Wait what-
Regulus: Yeah, the time you stole my zippo and didn’t give it back until we officially started dating?
James, appalled:
Regulus: James. Did you really think I wouldn’t have noticed? I smoked a lot. It was a personalised zippo as well.
James: What, so you just let me have it?
Regulus: Yes, my love. I knew you’d give it back eventually.
James, muttering under his breath but holds Regulus’ hand tighter:

When you have plushies
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Ot8!skz × Gn!reader (individually)
Genre: fluff, reactions
Request: so if skz had a partner who sleeps / collects plushies??? maybe also add a little where the reader is a tad bit embarrassed of it?
Warnings: none
A/n: if you saw this when I posted it for the first time no you didn't!
Tumblr media
Bang Chan
Y'KNOW THAT LAUGH OF HIS
The one that's so adorable and it looks like a giggle while his eyes are like crescent moons
THAT ONE
It's the one he gives you while he tries to understand that somehow he is dating the most adorable human being in the whole world
He literally has no problem if you want to sleep with them, will reassure you when it comes to that
"Do you think I can take one of your plushies with me for the tour? It'd make me feel closer to you"
Lee Know
Of course he will tease you
That's like one of the things that are included in his boyfriend package: relentless teasing
He will stop immediately if he sees that you aren't feeling it though
Will take a picture of you cuddling your favourite teddy bear and set it as his phone's wallpaper
AND will buy you some plushies and put them in his dorm
So you can feel more comfortable even when you're away from your own collection
Will never admit but he cuddles with it when he misses you
"Dori was sleeping with the plushie I bought for you. I'm going to send you a pic"
Changbin
Now that he knows, there is nothing stopping him from buying you thousands of plushies
Your collection will double in less than a month if you let him (please let him)
Might even buy some matching ones so you guys can share something in common
But he'll feel a little betrayed if you don't cuddle him to sleep and instead hug the teddy bear
"Why are you cuddling a plushie when you have me right here?? Like, c'mon now!!"
Hyunjin
You know those things where you can make a teddy bear from scratch and then gift it to someone?
He would do that for you😭
Would probably gift you a personalised plushie in your first valentine's
But overall he finds it adorable
Laughs endearingly every time he sees you sleeping while cuddling one
But will not lose the opportunity to replace the plushie and hug you throughout the night
"Would you rather have a dog or a bear as a plushie? No specific reason"
Han
Wants to give names to some of them lmao
And finds you 200% cuter because of it
Like, he knew you were adorable but you always surpass his expectations somehow
And if you get embarrassed abou it he finds you even cuter
But will make sure you don't have a reason to be embarrassed
He will throw himself in the pile of plushies, feeling like he's in heaven and making sure you knows he likes this side of you as well
"This one looks just like you! Oh my God, it's literally you"
Felix
HE LOVES IT
And he would be so casual about it as well??
Like, you'd be kinda scared of his reaction but then he's just the kindest about this
Wants to know about their names and stories you might have about them
The kind of guy who'd stitch one of them if they need to get repaired (I love him btw)
Tries to win plushies for you in those claw machines
"Which one do you want? I'll win it for you"
Seungmin
Is kinda intimidated at first lmao
Like I can see him just standing still while an army of plushies stare at his soul 😭
After the initial shock though I think he'd find it cute
Especially if there is a plushie who kinda looks like him/his skzoo
If that's the case he'll just tease you (while finding it so endearing)
"You should name this one 'Minnie'"
"I'm not naming every single one of my plushies after you"
"Why not?"
I.N
I think he wouldn't react at first, but mostly because he doesn't know what to do
Will you get sad if he teases you? Will you get embarrassed if he says it's cute?
He ends up not saying anything lol
Acts like he sees a huge collection of plushies every day
Might give you some plushies as gifts after finding out
"I just bought a very cute teddy bear in Japan. I'm giving it to you once I come back home."

Manners (Part 2, Final)
Viscount Joshua Hong is by far the most eligible bachelor in London. Rich, handsome, and renowned for his excellent manners and refined tastes. Young woman would kill for the chance to be the Viscount's chosen bride. But nobody can quite determine which of the young ladies he prefers, and you are beginning to have your doubts. Is the Viscount really as gentlemanly as the ton seems to think?
Genre: Joshua Hong x Female!reader. Regency!AU (It's sort of Bridgerton-esque in the sense that I give zero attention to historical accuracy and prioritize aesthetics lmao) You are a sibling to all the Lees (Woozi, DK, Dino) so your last name is Lee but the reader has no other specific characteristics, physical or otherwise.
Word Count: 5.2k+
Part 1
Series Masterlist [I would highly recommend reading the earlier stories in this series, Patience, and Candle, before this one but it's not strictly necessary.]
Tumblr media
You had never been formally courted before, and therefore had no inkling of what to expect from your new courtship with Viscount Hong. Indeed, you had scarcely even processed the events of the night before. The entire evening- right from Viscount Hongs' unannounced arrival up until his proposal of marriage- felt rather like an intense fever dream.
You were awoken from a fitful sleep early that morning by your maid.
“Miss- oh miss, you must  awaken, there has been a delivery for you!” she cried frantically.
You sat up in bed and rubbed your tired eyes. Lily and Nessie ran into your room in their nightgowns, giggling as they climbed up onto the bedcovers. They were followed by two maids struggling to carry an enormous basket of arranged pink and red roses between them. They placed the assortment precariously on your bedside table.
“What is this?” you asked, confused.
“A delivery for you miss- there is a card as well.”
The maid handed you the card and your sisters climbed up behind you eagerly to peek at it.
“Read it aloud!” Lily ordered, and you had no choice but to take the card into your hands and read out the message written in Viscount Hong’s neat and careful handwriting.
Miss Lee,
I thought perhaps some flowers would brighten your morning- I hope the events of last night have not caused you too much distress. I did fear that writing to you would be too forward but then again, I believe we can agree that the mistake I have made so far is failing to be forward enough.
May I persuade you to join me for a ride in the park this evening? If you are concerned about the lack of a chaperone, you may bring Chan- I will ensure an extra horse is available for him.
Yours,
Joshua
Lily and Nessie squealed in delight and even the maids were biting back their smiles. Sending flowers and a personalised invitation was a bold and romantic gesture indeed; you could not help the fluttering that arose in your heart.
It appeared that Viscount Hong meant business.
—-----------------------------------------
“I did suspect that Joshua might harbour some affection for you,” Jihoon admitted over breakfast. Your father was eating in his study, leaving you and your siblings to speak freely about the previous night's events in the dining room. “He always asks after you whenever he sees me or Seokmin.”
Seokmin agreed, mouth full of scrambled eggs. “He does ask about you often, now that I think of it, but I thought he was only being polite. The Viscount is always so well-mannered.”
You frowned at your brother. “Unlike you, Seokmin. Please swallow your food before you speak.”
“It’s only us siblings here,” Seokmin protested.
“You should be setting a better example as a gentleman for Chan.”
Chan scoffed before sipping at his tea. “Please don’t insult me, sister. I know better than to emulate anything Seokmin does.”
They began to argue and you did not have the energy or inclination to interrupt them. The gravity of your situation was slowly beginning to set in. You still harboured a certain girlish pleasure at the thought of Viscount Hong being in love with you- but you were also forced to begin thinking about what this proposal from a nobleman so superior in station to you would mean for you and your family.
Jihoon noticed your expression.
“Are you all right, sister?” he asked gently as Seokmin and Chan continued to argue.
You turned to your elder brother with a hesitant smile. Jihoon was certainly the most mature of your siblings, and you trusted him implicitly.
"Do you think it will be alright? The entire ton has been watching to see whom the Viscount will marry. I cannot even begin to think of  how many young ladies must have their sights set on him. The thought of the gossip alone…"
Jihoon smiled kindly. "I did not think you were the sort of woman to be easily disturbed by gossip, sister."
"I-I am not, but you must admit that people will talk about it and you know that everyone holds him in exceedingly high regard while I am…" you bit your lip and looked at your brother, hoping he would understand your fears.
Jihoon sighed and nodded. "I won't lie. It is an unexpected proposal and will certainly generate some surprise among the ton."
"What should I do?"
"I am sure word has not spread just yet. You should speak to Joshua about your fears."
You sighed and nodded. Perhaps you should.
—--------------------------------------------------
It was a warm and pleasant afternoon; perfect for a ride in the park. Unfortunately, this meant that many other members of the ton had made similar plans. You were uncomfortably aware of the curious stares of some young ladies who passed by you on the walking trail.
The Viscount was already waiting for you and Chan with the horses, but you had to stand aside and wait for a few moments as Chan monopolised the Viscount's attention. Once your younger brother's questions had been answered and he had taken his pick of the horses, the Viscount carefully took the reins of the horse you would ride and turned to you with a smile.
"May I help you up, Miss Lee?"
Joshua stepped closer to you when you nodded. You tried not to show how flustered you felt when he gently took your hand and placed it on his shoulder, giving you the boost you needed to push yourself up onto the horse and seat yourself side-saddle.
"Are you comfortable?" he asked with a caring smile.
"Uh-yes, yes thank you very much," you replied.
The Viscount and Chan each mounted their own horses. The three of you began a slow-paced ride around the park, but Chan could not resist pushing the purebred horse for a little more speed.
"Chan! Don't go far, stay within sight!" you called after your brother as he went further ahead. Your brother merely lifted a hand to signal that he'd heard you.
The Viscount brought his horse up to trot gently alongside yours. He was a skilled rider.
"I… I received the flowers you sent me this morning," you began awkwardly in an attempt to make some conversation with Joshua. "Thank you. They were beautiful."
He nodded. "I am glad you liked them."
"I did. Very much."
"Have I made you uncomfortable, Miss Lee?" Joshua asked suddenly. He had a worried smile on his face.
"N-no, why would you think so?"
"You seem to be avoiding my eyes."
You cleared your throat. Why did Joshua have to notice? It was true. You couldn't look at him, and not only because he was extremely handsome and his kind eyes caused butterflies to erupt in your stomach. You were simply too aware of the people watching you- there was a group of young ladies near the trees that gaped at you openly, and another pair of gentlemen who had been casting glances at you since Viscount Hong had helped you up onto your horse.
"It… it is nothing," you said quickly.
Joshua sighed. "Miss Lee. Please. The intention behind this courtship is to make you more comfortable with me and to trust me. If there is anything that troubles you-"
"There are too many eyes on us," you blurted out.
Joshua was silent for a long moment.
"I see. I've made another mistake," he said quietly.
You turned to him with wide eyes. "No, not at all-"
"I have. It was quite foolish of me to ask you to come here with just your brother and no proper chaperone- and our courtship is not yet common knowledge to the ton. I failed to take your feelings into consideration, and-"
You felt miserable and rushed to correct him. "Viscount Hong, please, I never meant to suggest that you were responsible for this-"
"But I am responsible."
You shook your head and began to explain that it wasn't his fault, that it was your own insecurities and fears that were making you uncomfortable. But Joshua had already set his lips in a straight line and spurred his horse forward to catch up with Chan, leaving you behind.
This was not a good start.
Not at all.
—-------------------------------------------
The ride at the park ended earlier than it should have; Chan was vocally disappointed but you were too mortified by the entire incident to object and Joshua was firm in sending you home safely escorted by his servants.
Still; the damage was done.
Word of your potential courtship with Joshua Hong had spread among the ton and you were faced with the full extent of the situation not three days later, at the ball hosted by the Hessingtons.
Joshua had sent you flowers every single morning leading up to the ball, and had even written to apologise for his thoughtless invitation to ride in the park. He requested you to reserve him a dance at the Hessingtons' ball.
You had, of course, accepted.
The reality that this would be the first, formal social event where almost every single person in the room would have their eyes on you was clear from the moment you made your entrance with Jihoon and Seokmin.
You had become accustomed to blending into the background at balls- Seokmin was lively and charming, hence rarely had trouble obtaining his desired female dance partners. Jihoon was more reserved when it came to women and dancing. But he had many friends among the ton and was often in the company of other gentlemen engaging in conversations about business. You had always been content to sit at the sidelines, accepting the offer of a dance when you received one and mingling with other ladies when they approached you.
But a lady being courted by Viscount Joshua Hong did not have the luxury of being ignored by the ton.
“Miss Lee!” cried one of the more obnoxious gossip-mongers, Mrs. Patty, as soon as she found you alone at a bench. “You must come and dispel these strange rumours about you. Is it true that you are being courted by our lovely Viscount Hong?”
You hesitated. “Erm…”
“Ha!” Mrs. Patty cried triumphantly, turning to her companions. She understood your hesitation to be a confirmation of her beliefs. “I knew there was no chance that little Miss Lee could capture our Viscount. I have been quite observant of his attention to the Duchess of Graham of late and I believe it is only a matter of time until they announce their engagement.”
One of the other ladies tutted with disapproval. “But then Miss Lee must explain how she came to be riding in the park with Viscount Hong!”
Your response was interrupted by the sound of a strong female voice behind you.
“Miss Lee is not required to explain anything,” a young lady said sharply as she took your arm. You recognised her immediately, despite never having conversed with her before.
This was Miss Hong. Viscount Hong’s infamous younger sister.
"Miss Hong-" you began to greet her.
"Come, Miss Lee. I have saved a seat for you near the refreshment tables, and you must sit with me until the dancing begins," Miss Hong said simply.
You allowed her to lead you away from the gossip-mongers.
You knew what everyone in London society said about Miss Hong. She was praised for being the most skilled pianoforte player among the ton, and it was well established that there was no young lady who could rival the musical talents of the Viscount's sister.
But Miss Hong also had a reputation for being excessively fashionable, vain, and quick-tempered. While her status and wealth prevented anyone from saying so to her face, Miss Hong did not enjoy the same universal approval of society that her older brother did.
"Miss Hong," you said gently. "Thank you for interrupting on my behalf. I really did not know how to answer their questions."
She brushed off your gratitude. "You need not bother about Mrs. Patty. That odious woman has been trying to make my life miserable since I was a child. I am not surprised she attempted to sink her claws into you."
You smiled awkwardly. "I see."
"I have been looking forward to meeting this elusive Miss Lee that seems to have the power to make my brother miserable," she said. You were shocked by her words, but when you turned to look at her, she was giggling.
"I-I am so sorry, I really have no intention of upsetting the Viscount," you tried to explain.
"Oh Miss Lee, you are such a sweetheart!" Miss Hong said with a carefree laugh. "I meant that my normally suave brother makes the most foolish mistakes around you and then renders himself miserable afterwards. You needn't apologise to me, I find the whole affair quite entertaining."
You relaxed a little. You had been anxious about how Viscount Hong's family would react to your courtship but, judging from Miss Hong's behaviour, she at least did not openly disapprove of you.
"I warned Joshua he was being hasty about the proposal and that he should have someone speak to you first to assess your reaction," Miss Hong continued as she gestured for you to join her on the bench. "But he said it was not appropriate and that naturally he had to seek your father's permission before speaking to you."
You nodded. "I see…"
Miss Hong gave you a sympathetic smile. "My brother is kind but he is still a man. Society is more forgiving towards his type. He does not understand the fears and pressures that we face as young ladies."
You felt the need to defend your Viscount.
"He has certainly been very thoughtful and considerate towards me-"
Miss Hong laughed. "Has he? Or perhaps you are blinded by your love for him."
"But the entire ton agrees that the Viscount has the most excellent manners, and-"
"Oh," Miss Hong said scornfully. "The ton. Miss Lee, I am sorry to say that if you intend to marry my brother, you must learn to take the opinions of the ton with a pinch of salt. Being a Viscountess is not an easy job. And it is certainly not one for a weak or feeble-minded woman."
Her words struck you like a blow to the face.
A Viscountess. You would be a Viscountess if you were to marry Joshua. It suddenly occurred to you how much power and authority came from a title like that, and the strength and poise with which women carrying such coveted titles conducted themselves.
You had certainly never seen a Viscountess who stumbled over her words in front of gossiping old women.
Miss Hong noticed your sudden silence.
"I apologise if I have offended you, Miss Lee," she said quickly. "It was not my intention to call you weak or feeble-minded. I am sure you are neither. But if I may be so bold as to make a suggestion, purely coming from my goodwill as your potential future sister-in-law…"
You nodded at her. You did not know if Miss Hong was as vain or quick-tempered as the ton claimed. But in this confusing reality, she was the only person willing to tell you the truth.
 "Please do," you said.
"You should use this courtship wisely. Not only to consider whether you wish to marry my brother… but also whether you wish to become a Viscountess. If you choose to marry Joshua, you should carry his title as a matter of pride, not as a burden. That is the only way you can be happy together."
Oh.
You took a deep breath as you considered her words and then turned to Miss Hong, clasping her hand in yours.
"Thank you," you told her quietly. "For your honesty."
She smiled- a sudden, genuine smile that was rare for the fashionable young debutante.
"Thank you for not being offended by it," Miss Hong replied. "Now, I regret to inform you that the dancing has begun and my brother approaches to claim your company for the first dance."
You nodded before turning to see that Joshua had indeed appeared from the crowd with his usual handsome smile.
"Miss Lee," the Viscount greeted you warmly, offering you his hand. He raised an eyebrow at his sister. "I hope my sister has not been troubling you."
"Not at all!" you said quickly. "She has been very kind."
Miss Hong stood and smiled as she smoothed down the front of her fashionably decorated ball-gown. "Excuse me- I have promised this dance to Mr. Hessington," she said lightly before disappearing into the crowd.
The Viscount turned to you.
"And I believe you have promised this dance to me," he reminded you with a smile.
"So I have."
You allowed Joshua to lead you out onto the floor for a pleasant waltz. The dance was not very demanding- and it allowed you both the chance to have a much-needed conversation.
"I do hope my sister did not trouble you," Joshua said slowly. "She is known to be rather…"
"Honest?" you asked.
"I was going to say impudent," he replied with a chuckle. "Although I dare say she usually means well."
"No, not at all. She helped me put things in perspective. I will admit that everything about our courtship is… new to me. I cannot help but have some fears and concerns about it all, and… I… I do not want you to think that I am ungrateful for the flowers and letters because I really am not, you have been very thoughtful and kind, I-I only…"
You were beginning to stumble over your words and your cheeks turned hot. Joshua's hand squeezed your gloved one reassuringly.
"Tell me," he pressed you softly. "I would like nothing more than to hear your feelings."
"I wish we could have a conversation," you admitted slowly. "Only the two of us. Without- without any interruptions or eavesdropping chaperones so that-that we could have an honest discussion about the future and what this really means for each of us."
Joshua's expression was gentle.
"Of course, Miss Lee. I agree entirely. I think we have stumbled blindly through this courtship without understanding each other. An open discussion would certainly help."
You nodded. "Well, yes. Open but…" you cleared your throat and glanced around you anxiously. "Well. Discreet, if you understand my meaning. Since we are not officially engaged."
He chuckled.
"Of course. I understand perfectly. Would you do me the honour of coming to the assembly rooms on Thursday evening? I believe I can arrange for our… discreet discussion there."
You smiled and nodded.
"Yes. Yes, that sounds wonderful."
"Excellent."
—---------------------------------------------------
Viscount Hong was a man of his word.
You arrived at the assembly rooms on Thursday; Seokmin had been glad to accompany you as he had a bet to settle at the card tables with Mr. Yoon Jeonghan.
Upon your arrival, the Viscount offered you his arm and requested your company for a walk around the gardens. You accepted- after all, you were now openly courting him, what harm could a walk about the gardens do? To your surprise, Joshua led you towards a thick copse of trees at the end of the path that provided complete cover and privacy from the rest of the gardens and the assembly rooms.
"Shall we speak here?" Viscount Hong asked you.
You nodded hesitantly. "Yes- I am shocked that you discovered this, it is such a private little corner."
Joshua looked slightly embarrassed. "The spot was recommended to me by Mr. Kim Mingyu. He is rather more… experienced than I am when it comes to finding ways to do things that society may not approve of."
You giggled. "You mean he is a rake."
"He admits it quite openly," Joshua agreed.
"And we will not be interrupted- nobody will accidentally stumble upon us here?" you asked nervously.
"It is unlikely. In any case, I have asked Mr. Kim to watch over the garden path from the balcony. If anyone begins to walk in this direction, he will send us a warning," Joshua replied.
You were flattered that Joshua would go to so much effort to indulge your simple request for a private conversation.
"Thank you," you told him honestly.
"It is the least I could do, Miss Lee. I understand that I have thrown quite a wrench in your life this past week. You have me quite flustered- I seem to repeatedly make poor judgements in your regard, and I will strive to remedy that."
You looked up to see the genuine regret in his eyes. It was still so strange to you that the Viscount should care so much about you and you could not help but feel a warmth towards him.
"Viscount Hong, please do not say so. You have not made any mistakes, really."
Joshua reached his hands out hesitantly towards yours. You realised that he was seeking permission to hold your hands- and you offered them to him freely.
His warm hands clasped yours.
"May I go first?" he asked.
You nodded.
"You asked me the other night why I wanted to marry you," Joshua began. He spoke slowly- as though every word was being carefully considered. "I will admit I was not prepared for that question, and I did a poor job of answering it. Will you allow me to answer it again?"
"Of course."
"Over the last year, ever since it became clear that the time had come for me to marry- I have met and considered many young women of my acquaintance. They all have their charms, of course, but I found that only your charms made a consistent and lasting impact on me."
You looked at him with surprise.
"My charms? I must insist you tell me what these are, Viscount Hong, since I am entirely unaware of them," you laughed as your cheeks slowly turned hot.
Joshua chuckled. "I would be glad to elaborate. I know your brothers well, Miss Lee, and I am familiar with the difficulties that your family has faced. I have watched you bear them with quiet dignity. You have a strength and maturity that is rare among young women of your age- indeed, rare for any person at all. Even in the face of my hasty proposal, you had the presence of mind to stop me and question me. You are kind and generous; but not a woman who is easily swayed. That is what makes me confident that you would be a perfect choice for a life partner, and makes me want more than anything in the world to be your husband."
Your heart swelled. It was strange; you had expected some vague words from him about love and admiration- something along the lines of what you read in novels.
But Joshua's answer gave you more confidence than any declaration of love could have.
You now understood that his proposal, as sudden as it may have seemed to you, was not a rash or hasty decision on his part. Joshua had watched you, considered you, understood you… and still chosen you.
"I… don't know if I deserve such praise," you told him softly. "I have not behaved very maturely this past week."
"What makes you say that?" he asked gently.
"I have been selfish. My fears and insecurities got the better of me, and I worried about the gossip that our courtship would create and what people would think. How they would react to you proposing to someone like me."
Joshua shook his head. "Those are reasonable fears. And I have not done a very good job of protecting you from the ton's speculations."
You took a deep breath and looked up at him.
"You do not need to protect me."
Joshua looked startled. "Miss Lee…"
"I have had time to think about what I want from our courtship, and what I can offer.  Entering into this with the expectation that I should be protected from the hardships involved is foolish. If we are to be married, then I will be a Viscountess. I cannot live my life fearing the opinions of the ton."
Joshua smiled. Your face had taken on a determined expression. It was the first time since the night of his proposal that you looked like yourself again- without that fear and anxiety looming behind your eyes.
"You have nothing to fear from the ton," he assured you. "I will always be with you."
"Your sister said something to me that struck me deeply," you told him. "She said that if I was to become a Viscountess, then I should carry the title as a matter of pride and not as a burden."
Joshua sighed. "My sister has a strange relationship with pride."
"Perhaps so, but I think there is some truth in what she said," you replied. "It boils down to this… I would be proud to call myself your wife. And as long as you would be proud to call yourself my husband, then I do not think that there is anything society can do to ruin our happiness."
Joshua's eyes twinkled. His grip on your hands pulled you closer to him- you were mere inches away from him now and you could not tear your eyes away from his.
"Dangerous words, Miss Lee," he warned.
"Oh?"
"You are only making me fall more in love with you."
Your cheeks turned hot but you smiled up at him. "And you are treading dangerous waters, Viscount Hong. We are alone here, without a chaperone. I thought you were a gentleman?"
Joshua nodded. His eyes briefly flickered down to your lips. "I am. Will you allow me to kiss you?"
You flushed. "We are not even engaged…"
"I will stop if you ask me to."
"... Do not stop."
Joshua's right arm wrapped around your waist and pulled you closer to him. Your hands naturally placed themselves on his shoulders as he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours.
It was a delicate kiss; one filled with passion and longing. Joshua was careful with you. One of his hands cupped your cheek as he pulled away slightly. He pressed his forehead to yours and gave you a small smile.
"Have I made another mistake?" he asked breathlessly.
You felt light-headed from the kiss but you managed to look up at him with a small pout.
"You know perfectly well that you have not," you scolded him.
"I had to check- my judgement always fails me around you. You cloud my senses," Joshua whispered. "You are the only woman that can make me doubt my own actions."
You looked up at the handsome man in front of you with adoration.
"I would never want you to doubt yourself," you told him firmly.
"Then shall I kiss you again?"
"Please."
Joshua kissed you again- and again, and again, until you were both entangled in a mess of lips and tongues and limbs, allowing your bodies to express the adoration that words could not satisfy. In your heated whispers between soft, sensuous kisses, Viscount Hong became Joshua, and Joshua became my love.
—---------------------------------------------------------
The passionate courtship that ensued had the ton in an uproar.
It was all over the gossip sheets, and on the lips of every member of the ton: Miss Lee had cast a spell on Viscount Joshua Hong and he was absolutely smitten with her.
Joshua made no effort to abate the gossip. Instead, flowers and letters arrived at your doorstep every single morning. Some days he would send you presents; pretty little hand mirrors, ribbons, satin gloves…. always accompanied by love notes stating how they made him think of you. (He even once sent you a set of silk garters that was almost opened by Nessie. You scolded him thoroughly and his gifts remained family-appropriate thereafter).
Joshua danced with you-and only you- at every ball. It caused an immense displeasure among the ladies of the ton and Mrs. Patty even saw fit to complain to you on one occasion.
"How unfortunate that Viscount Hong will not look at the Duchess anymore," Mrs. Patty bemoaned openly to you. "She would have suited him so well- so rich and with her own title."
"Yes," you said to the older woman calmly. "It is unfortunate indeed that Viscount Hong has no need to marry for riches or titles. He shall have to settle with marrying for love, instead."
Mrs. Patty gave you a sharp look but you heard no more from her on the subject.
The whispers were not all pleasant, naturally. Many gossiped about how Viscount Hong was clearly marrying down, how your dowry and station and beauty were so far beneath his. It was painful when these whispers reached your ears- but it was a pain that you would gladly bear for the privilege of being with Joshua. To his credit, Joshua swiftly and politely silenced anything that reached his ears.
The weeks flew by; and on the 30th day from his initial hasty proposal, Viscount Joshua Hong appeared once more on your doorstep just before suppertime. (This time with notice- Dotty had been able to prepare her venison pie.)
"My father is away on business," you informed Joshua as you led him to the dining room where your siblings were all waiting for supper to be served. "So I am afraid that you will not be able to ask for his permission to  propose to me again."
"How unfortunate," Joshua said with a chuckle as Lily ran up to him and greeted him with a hug. He lifted her into his arms easily and set her down in her seat at the table. "It would be very inappropriate to propose to you without permission- but whose permission shall I seek?"
Chan piped up. "You could ask Jihoon."
Jihoon looked up from his plate with a raised eyebrow. "I would not dare to assume such a monumental responsibility. You will have to seek permission elsewhere."
"Seokmin?" Joshua asked.
Seokmin shrugged. "Ask me again after supper. I am too hungry to grant any permissions at the moment."
Joshua chuckled. "Chan?"
Chan rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I could be persuaded… for the price of an Arabian horse, perhaps?"
"Absolutely not," you said firmly.
Joshua settled down into his seat and turned to your little sister Lily, who was looking up at him with a big smile and a gap in her teeth.
"What shall I do, Lily?" Joshua asked her with a mock sigh. "I had hoped to propose to your elder sister tonight, but your father is not in town and none of your brothers will grant me permission."
Lily frowned. "Why do you need permission?"
"It is good manners to seek the permission of a woman's loved ones before making an offer to her."
"Then I shall grant you permission, Viscount Hong! You may marry my sister."
You couldn't hold back your laugh; Nessie giggled and the corner of even Jihoon's lips curved upwards. Joshua gracefully accepted her permission and then turned to you with his usual handsome, charming smile.
"Well, Miss Lee; what say you? Will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?" Joshua asked you with a chuckle. Lily looked up at you expectantly with big eyes.
You smiled back at Joshua.
"Well, since Lily has granted her permission…"
"Is that a yes?"
"Yes, Viscount Hong. I would be honoured to become your wife."

What is it about Weddings? || Lando Norris x Reader
Summary: Lando and the reader attend a wedding together, and find out a lot more about their friendship than they expected.
Word Count: 3.3k
Warnings: Swearing (once)
a/n: this is unintentionally long, and I probably could’ve cut some of it out but here we are. here’s some fluffy friends to lovers (kind of, it’s implied) with everyone’s fave mcclaren driver.
Tumblr media
“And I’m supposed to what? Pretend to be your girlfriend for the day?” You asked, laughter beneath your voice as you released your wet hair from the towel. Lando’s pixelated head nodded on the other end of the video call and you scoffed, shaking your head in disbelief. “I agreed to this as your friend. How am I supposed to convince your family otherwise?” “Please, Y/N. They’ve already started asking questions and I - “ “You’re too scared to dodge them? Correct them? Tell them the truth?” You brushed through your hair, wincing at the knots in the ends. “I’m sorry. I know you’re mad at me - “ “I’m not mad at you, Lando.” You interrupted him again, causing him to roll his eyes which luckily went unnoticed by you whilst you leaned down to plug the hairdryer in. “I’m just feeling a little unprepared.” “All we have to do is maybe hold hands, agree on a story of how we started dating, and dance together a couple times. Do you think you can do that?” He asked, adopting his famous puppy dog eyes that you fell for every time, that you’ve been falling for since you met him three years ago. You sighed, throwing your towel into the laundry basket then looking back at the phone. “Alright, seems easy enough.”  “Thank you! I owe you.” He clasped his hands together like a prayer, blowing you a kiss through the screen. “Oh, you absolutely do. Now go, I’ve got to dry my hair and make sure I’m ready in time!” “The wedding doesn’t start for another two hours.” “And the clock is ticking! See you later.” You smiled, not even giving him the chance to say goodbye before hanging up the phone.
Exactly two hours later you were sat in the middle of the venue waiting for the music to begin and the bride to enter. Enough of the small talk was already over, and you were finally able to let go of Lando’s slightly sweaty hand. You teased him for it, earning you an elbow in the ribs and another eyeroll. “It’s the middle of Summer, your hands aren’t exactly pleasant to hold either.” He whispered, causing you to snort with laughter then hold your breath to silence yourself. The wedding was like many others in your opinion. The vows were long, made even longer by the bride and groom choosing to personalise them, and it took a good twenty minutes for the room to fully empty out. By then, you were bursting for the toilet and hoping to make a beeline for the nearest one without being stopped by any of Lando’s family members. “Prosecco?” A waiter asked you, balancing a stacked tray in his hand. You grabbed a glass, nodding a thank you whilst speed-walking past everyone. You downed the drink and left the glass on a wall after struggling to find somewhere more suitable. Ducking into the first cubicle, you locked the door and took the opportunity to take a deep breath. Pretending to be Lando’s girlfriend wasn’t exactly difficult, but lying to his family was. You desperately wanted to impress them but were worried you’d slip up and say something wrong. You could tell how excited they were to meet you, and the last thing you wanted to do was disappoint them.
The main door flew open as you stood up to flush, pausing before you did as you heard voices outside. “He brought his new girlfriend, have you seen her?” A girl said, snickering as she spoke. “I saw them arrive together. I didn’t even know he was dating anyone.” You leaned closer to the door, trying to spy through the crack near the hinge but the most you could see was the back of a purple dress. “Well, she won’t last. We all know what happens when Lando and I bump into each other at events.” Her tone was suggestive, and the mention of Lando’s name made you stagger back, your heels scraping against the tiled floor. Subtle, you thought. You didn’t like the idea of somebody gossiping about Lando behind his back. It didn’t matter what they said about you, but you’d defend him in a heartbeat.  On that note, you flushed, smoothed out your dress and unlocked the door to step out of the cubicle. The two women turned to look at you, embarrassment laced on one of their faces. The other - purple dress - looked you up and down, nostrils flaring and lips curling into a disgusted frown. You opened your mouth to speak, but the two slipped right past you and left the room, slamming the door behind them. Real mature.” You muttered to yourself before washing your hands and re-applying your lipstick. You were surprised to come across someone so childish considering the environment you were in. But, after all, what’s a wedding without someone trying to cause drama? “There you are! I thought you’d ditched me.” Lando called over as you went back outside, the sunlight hitting you directly in the eyes. You reached into your bag and grabbed your sunglasses, sliding them on to match your friend. “I think I may have just made an enemy.” You shrugged, linking arms with him as you both made your way to the large white tent at the bottom of the garden. “An enemy?” “A girl in the bathroom was talking about us. Blonde, purple dress, garish yellow bag. She’s over there.” You lowered your voice, gesturing towards a group of people to your left. “Oh… We used to go out when I was like, seventeen. Clearly she is still that age in her head.” “You’re telling me! You should’ve seen the way she looked at me. I’ve seen people have better reactions to piles of cow shit!” The both of you laughed together, huddling over as to not attract anyone’s attention. “She seems to think she could still have you given the chance.” “Not anymore.” Lando shook his head, his distaste for the girl evident on his face. Despite not being able to see his eyes, you knew him well enough to tell how he was feeling just by the scrunch of his nose and downturned lips. The two of you were soon ushered inside the tent and to your table. You were seated with Lando’s parents which wasn’t so bad. You imagined Lando had already given them a story of how you met and convinced them you were a real couple, so you didn’t have to prepare for any more questions. “They sent a menu out a couple of weeks ago. I chose for you, I hope you don’t mind.” Lando said, smiling. He reached over and laid his hand on top of yours in your lap, his thumb stroking the back of your fingers. His touch wasn’t unfamiliar, and you knew he was just trying to play the part in front of his family, but you liked the feeling of his hand on yours for those few seconds. You almost forgot you were pretending and felt a slight pang of disappointment when he pulled away to adjust the napkin on his lap. You linked your own hands together, patiently waiting for the first course to be served.
---------
“Well, that was…”
“Dissatisfying? Disappointing? Gross?”
“I was going to say posh.” You laughed, Lando fake gagging beside you. You slapped his chest to shut him up, almost knocking the wind out of him. “It wasn’t the worst food I’ve ever eaten.”
“Come on Y/N, you and I both know we’d have enjoyed a Domino’s more than that.”
“What? More than a tiny piece of lamb in some funky sauce? Obviously.”
“The dessert was the worst part. What’s wrong with a simple sponge cake? Why does it always have to be some fancy ‘berry compote’?” Lando adopted a stereotypical posh accent, sticking his nose in the air and waving his finger around. It always surprised you how little he enjoyed luxury things, considering how he was raised and the career he’s in. When you met him, you expected him to be more of a snob.
You hushed him, grabbing his hand and holding it by your side. The two of you couldn’t hold in your laughter and curled over like a pair of giddy children, tears brimming in your eyes. Why do the giggles come at the worst of times?
“What are you two laughing at?” Lando’s father asked, crossing the grass to meet you. You stood up straight to greet him, little bursts of laughter still coming out.
“Oh nothing.” Lando sighed, wiping his eyes.
“Y/N. they’re gathering all of the ladies near the pond for the bouquet toss. Would you like to join them?” Adam asked, stepping aside for you. You sensed it was more of a rhetorical question, and reluctantly set off towards the pond to join the group of women you didn’t know. Ironically, the girl in purple caught the flowers which made you laugh to yourself. You felt sorry for the poor soul that would eventually marry her. You clapped and cheered with everyone else, making a point to flash her the most sickly, fake smile you could muster. Her eyes flickered back to you a few times whilst she tried to concentrate on her conversation with the bride. The last time she looked, you’d already walked off to find Lando again.
“What if she comes back up here with that bouquet? You do know what it means…”
“Come on, Dad.” Lando snickered. You got the feeling this wasn’t a conversation to disturb, so you stood back behind a flowerbed to listen in. The bigger part of you knew it was wrong to eavesdrop, but you wanted to leave Lando to this one. You’d done enough storytelling for one afternoon.
An older lady approached the two of them, and you recognised her as one of Lando’s aunts. She hugged her nephew, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. “Where’s that lovely girl of yours, Lando?” She asked.
“I’m sure she’s on her way back.” There was a pause, and the sound of feet shuffling, until he spoke again, “So, you like her then?”
“Of course! What’s not to like? She seems really nice from what I’ve seen. How did the two of you meet again?”
Oh, this should be good, you thought. You hadn’t heard Lando’s version of events and how you came to be his ‘girlfriend’, but you trusted he’d made up a good tale. You crouched, resting your right hip and leg on the flowerbed to duck down a little lower.
“It was at a party.” You could hear the smile on Lando’s face and you were impressed with how well he was playing along. “You know when you spot someone across a room and just, know? She was stood near the wall beside this extravagant fish tank with glowing blue lights, and they were reflecting off of the silver top she was wearing. I watched her for a few minutes before mustering up the courage to talk to her. We spoke about everything from racing, to our favourite movies, to our least favourite childhood games. I hung on every word she said.” As he spoke, the realisation hit you – he wasn’t telling a made-up story. He was telling the true story of how you met, and you remembered every conversation from that night.
“Are you joking? Splat was the best playground game!” You laughed, polishing off the remainder of your drink and setting the glass down on the nearest table.
“Agree to disagree! Bulldogs was far better.” He retorted, waving his beer bottle in your face. You slipped it out of his hand and took a swig, the liquid warm and flat.
“Ugh, you need a new drink. And get me one whilst you’re at it.” You fluttered your eyelashes at him, pushing your glass into his hand. He shook his head, a smile stuck to his face as he gave into you. Little did you know, he’d have done anything you asked him that night, and he probably still would.
“She was dating someone at the time so I spent six months getting to know her as a friend. I was the one she came to when it went South, and I wanted nothing more than to comfort her, but I didn’t want to cross a line. It was kind of good for me though, as I was able to spend more time with her and get to know her better.” Lando’s aunt cooed at his words, which simultaneously made you blush. Everything he was saying was right, and you wondered whether he was just moulding it to sound romantic, or if there could be some truth in his feelings.
You stood up from the flowerbed and rounded the corner, re-joining the three of them. “Y/N, we were just talking about you.” Adam smiled, turning to Lando and raising his brows. “All good things, don’t worry.”
Lando smiled at you, cheeks a little flushed but you could easily put that down to the weather rather than his potential confession. Was he flirting with you that night? Had his ‘playful’ flirting over the past few years been more than just a joke?
“Lando is very lucky to have you.” His aunt beamed, grabbing your hand and giving it a light squeeze. “Don’t let him go.”
“I wasn’t planning on it.” You squeezed her hand back, then looked back over to Lando who was smiling at the ground. “Shall we get another drink?” You asked to break the silence. Everyone murmured in agreement and disbanded, leaving you and Lando behind. You started to walk in front of him, but his hand on your shoulder stopped you in your tracks.
“Thank you, Y/N.”
“You don’t need to thank me… I suppose it’s a shame they like me so much.” You joked, but the hint of sadness in your voice did not go unnoticed by Lando. He cocked his head to the side, studying your face for some kind of clue but came up with nothing. You linked arms with him again and pulled him back towards the tent, where the tables had now been moved to make way for a dance-floor.
You sat down and watched Lando interact with everyone. It was nice to see how well he got on with his family, and they were all eager to listen to his racing stories and find out what he’d been up to around the world. Unbeknownst to you, members of his family admired the smile on your face from across the room as your eyes followed Lando around. To the ordinary person, you looked exactly like a woman in love. Lando turned and caught your eye, smiling and holding his hand up to wave at you. It didn’t cross your mind that anyone would be witnessing your interaction, so you didn’t realise the wedding photographer was nearby snapping pictures of you and the smile you were aiming in your friend’s direction.
Soon after, the string lights around the tent came on and the music was turned up, the dance floor flooded with people busting their tipsy moves. You dragged Lando through the crowd and into the best space you could find. “You know I’m a horrible dancer!” He yelled over the music as you lifted his arm and spun underneath it, trying to get him to join in.
“Nobody is looking at us! Come on, loosen up.” You spun again then pulled him closer to you, swaying your bodies to the sound of the cheesy song. Who doesn’t love ABBA at a wedding?
“What have I done to deserve this torture?” He fake-whined, his hands falling to your waist. You wrapped your arms around his neck and were nudged even closer to him when someone spun and bumped into you.
“Sorry, uh - “
“No, stay close.” He said quietly, hands sliding from your waist to the bottom of your back. He held you steady, the song changing to a slower melody. Couples around you came together to do their best slow dance, and the rest retreated to their tables.
“This is the part where the singles leave the floor.” You said plainly with no real intention to stop dancing.
“Then we better stay put, hadn’t we?” He smiled, leaning in to whisper in your ear, “I forgot to tell you how pretty you look today.”
“Lando Norris, how much prosecco have you had?”
“Enough to start handing out compliments, clearly.”
You laughed softly, your cheeks burning from a mixture of the alcohol consumption throughout the day, and Lando’s sweet words. Taking somewhat of a risk, you laid your head on his shoulder and closed your eyes for a moment, letting him guide you across the floor. “You know, I think we pulled it off today.” He said, his voice low in your ear. You hummed in agreement before lifting your head up and looking at him. He was smiling, the type of smile that reached his eyes and made his cheeks look full. It was infectious, and your own face felt sore from smiling straight back.
“I think you’re mostly responsible for that.”
“What do you mean?”
“I heard your little story earlier when you were talking to your dad and aunt. For a moment there, even I was convinced.” You knew you were taunting him, but you had to hear what he was going to say.
“You heard that?”
“Every word. It was pretty believable.”
“Well, it wasn’t exactly a lie, was it?”
“You tell me.” You raised your brows at Lando, catching him off guard. His furrowed in return as he gave you a weird look.
“You remember that night as much I do.”
“Yes, but not from your point of view.” You leaned forward and rested your chin on his shoulder then whispered, “if it makes you feel any better, I had a crush on you too.”
“Bullshit! You were dating somebody else.” Landon grabbed your arms and held you in front of him, his face ridden with shock.
“Hey! A girl is allowed to admire the view! I wasn’t doing anything wrong.”
“So you admit, you were checking me out?” He said cockily, kissing his teeth. You poked him on the chest playfully and he did it right back, leaving a red finger-shaped mark on your collarbone.
“Says you! No guy remembers what a girl was wearing when they met.”
“Your top was silver with holographic straps  and your skirt was black. You complained about your tights falling down all night and eventually took them off in the bathroom… Do I get a point for passing your quiz?”
“I don’t remember asking.”
A silence washed over you, and you realised you were now the only two dancing as everyone else had disappeared to have cake and more drinks. Even the bride and groom were nowhere to be seen. You strolled back to your table, Lando’s hand finding yours. You stopped but didn’t sit down. “Is it just the alcohol talking, or is there something going on here?” You blurted, interlacing your fingers with his tighter. “You have to give me a clue because I can’t tell.”
“I was hoping you were going to answer that.”
“Christ! We’re just as bad as each other.” You covered your face with your spare hand, shaking your head. “I don’t know if I want to hit you or kiss you.”
“Slow down! How about you do neither, and we get out of here instead?”
“Lando! How is that any slower?!” You whisper-yelled, your lips fighting to curl into a smile.
“I don’t mean that!” He laughed, watching you sigh with relief. “Why don’t we go grab that pizza instead? Then we can dry out a bit and see what sober Y/N and Lando think of this sudden revelation?”
“You’ve got a deal.” You grinned, grabbing your bag and slipping it onto your shoulder. You didn’t let go of his hand as nerves and excitement bubbled through you. You’d just agreed to an impromptu first date with your best friend, and had no idea what it meant. “What is it about weddings, huh?”

Five Stars: Sam Carver x Reader (NSFW)

Sam likes working with his hands, he gets a sense of satisfaction in fixing things that other people think are broken. When he stays over you always find him the next morning with his tool kit out, building something, or making an alteration. The shoe rack you didn’t know you needed, the floating shelves above your desk, the borders for your flower beds.  He liked to help out, make himself useful.
The thing about you, you like to watch. He worked that out early on in the relationship. Other people they don’t usually pay too much attention to him but you, you can’t keep your eyes off him. It does something to man.
Already he can feel your gaze on him from the armchair in the corner and his skin prickles with anticipation. When he glances over his shoulder, your book is resting on the driftwood end table he salvaged a couple of weeks ago and your eyes have a hint of mischief in them. You’re wearing one of his t-shirts, your thighs rubbing together underneath the fabric.
“You’re getting off on this a little aren’t you?” He murmurs as he straightens the shelf before stepping back to admire his handiwork. “Seeing me doing things around the house, it plays into something for you?”
“Handyman may be one of my fav categories on Pornhub.” You say as he turns to face you and he smiles then, because his baby, she knows how to take care of herself on those nights when he’s away on shift.
“Oh.” He says as he drops onto his knees in front of you. “And how do those videos usually go?”
His calloused palms come to rest on your thighs, spreading your legs and he can already see the damp patch blossoming across those pretty lilac panties.
“Usually she can’t pay for his services but…” You trail off, your head tipping back as his nose brushes lightly over your clit.
“You don’t like that.” He remarks, his breath ghosting over you as his eyes flicker up to meet his. “Because it’s transactional, it lacks intimacy.”
He thinks it’s the power dynamic too, you’re a headstrong, independent. Getting on your knees to pay for services rendered, it certainly isn’t your thing.
“Hm…” You respond as his thumb traces over that needy little hole of yours, exerting just the slightest pressure and you keen at the sensation.
“Well baby, this handyman is all about customer satisfaction.” He murmurs as he draws your panties aside with his fingertips. “It’s a very personalised experience.”
His tongue laps over your clit, a wave of pleasure crashing through you as his hand delves underneath the hem of the t-shirt. His calloused palm comes to rest on your breast, his thumb tracing over your nipple bringing it to it’s peak. You’ve always been a little sensitive and you love it when they’re the focus of his attention.
His mouth delves lower, his tongue thrusting deep and you cry out, your fingers threading through his hair. He tweaks your nipple and the ecstasy it hits like a tidal wave, crashing through your entire body as you climax on his tongue.
Christ you’re beautiful in that moment, wild eyes and flushed skin, it drives him fucking crazy.
“Fuck Sam.” You murmur as his calloused palms chase up along your body, his lips following suit. He guides the t-shirt up and over your head, leaving you completely bare against him.
“Oh honey, I’m not finished with you yet.” He teases, his mouth brushing over yours as the denim of his jeans grinds against your core. “I’m after that five star rating remember?”

Hey 👋 I've been watching videos of Joseph during the Liverpool convention (hope you had a good time by the way) and got the idea of a Joseph x Reader story where they meet during a meet and greet perhaps during signing?
Tumblr media
(Started writing this and it’s kinda giving yandere!reader vibes but she just a crazy obsessed fan like the rest of us🤷‍♀️)
Also in this he is not married! And this is gonna be set in America maybe a few years earlier?
Favourite Fan
Y/n had watched the vampire diaries and the originals religiously. They were played continuously and she could speak each episode word for word. Her favourite character was Klaus by far, she loved Joseph Morgan’s acting and who he was truly.
So she saved up, a lot, and decided she would see how many conversations she could see him at.
She knew he was doing conventions in a couple states that year so decided to go and meet him.
The first time it was to have a picture of him signed as well as a photo.
When she got their, she was practically bouncing. She waited in line and finally got to meet him.
———————————————————————
Joseph had been switching between photos and autographs all day. It was the afternoon and he was growing tired. Time between each person was getting shorter and shorter but he didn’t want to disappoint any fans so he tried his best.
But when he glances up at Y/n, for some reason he decided he would talk to her for a little longer. His eyes were locked on hers, her bright smile seemed to warm him as he wrote her a personalised message on the item she wanted signed. She then shyly asked if he was allowed to hug her to which he let out a soft laugh and nodded.
He pushed his cheque back and stood up, moving around his table and welcoming her into his arms. He smiled at the way she clung to him, it wasn’t uncommon among fans. He gently rubbed the top of her back before she pulled away and thanked him. His eyes followed her as she walked away and he continued with the autographs for a while.
By his last set of photos with fans, he was exhausted and hungry. Some of the other stars were taking a break while others were flooded with people.
He sighed softly to himself, his face hurt from all the smiling but he was used it. He could feel the heat getting to him as he stood in far too many layers but nevertheless he wrapped his arm around the next person and gave an award winning grin for the camera.
He glanced to the next person and saw a familiar face, the same girl from earlier. His smile was smaller but it was real. So was hers as she quickly approached him and immediately wrapped her arms around him. He chuckled and hugged her bag, accidentally smelling her hair as he felt her face against his shoulder.
“You ready sweetheart?” He murmured softly to her and she nodded, her cheeks pink as a blush spread through her. She pulled away and turned to the camera, his arm stayed around her waist and they both smiled. He waved as she left and turned to his next person with a better attitude.
———————————————————————
He saw her multiple times in that year alone, in a few different states across different days.
He began to look for her in the line or when he was walking from photos to the autograph tables. Occasionally he would spot her, she was always already looking at him which made his face warm as a soft blush rose to the surface. Joseph would always wave at her as he went by.
By the time he got round to seeing her, he was always tired. She seemed to uplift him throughout the day.
So when he got to her again, for maybe the 7th time meeting her, he was relieved to have her in his arms again. He could hear and sense his co-stars giggling and staring as the hug lingered for longer than it should have.
“I made you something” she whispered to him as they parted and he smiled
“You did?” He asked and she nodded, holding out a few pieces of paper. One of which was a hand written letter and two were portraits of him in a remarkable amount of detail. His smile broadened and his face went pink again “you made those yourself?” He questioned and she nodded nervously.
“You don’t have to-“
“No no, I want them” he took them from her hands and she smiled back at him. “They’re wonderful, love” he told her and she looked down “thank you” he whispered “will I be seeing you again later?” He asked eagerly.
“No…not this time” she sighed softly “I booked late, couldn’t get anything else. Next time?”
“Definitely” he smiled, subconsciously raising his hand to brush her hair away from her face, ignoring the ‘ooos’ from his co-stars.
They smiled at each other and said their goodbyes before she left and he turned back to his next eagerly awaiting fan.
———————————————————————
Joseph’s friends teased him, Daniel, Phoebe, Claire, Charles. The lot of them knew, as soon as they saw Y/n coming, Jospeh would be a blushing mess.
One of those days, when Y/n was lining up for Joseph again, Daniel came up behind her. He effectively scared her and made her laugh, he whispered to her secretively and had her dial her number into Joseph’s phone.
Joseph and Daniel had been given private rooms to do their photos and signings and Y/n was the last in line for Joseph so Daniel saw it as perfectly set up. He gave her a hug and winked at Jospeh who looked a mix of embarrassed and horrified.
Once she got to him, they were both red in the face and their hearts were beating fast.
“I’m sorry” he whispered “he’s rude and-“
“It’s okay” she smiled “I know it’s just a joke, you can delete the number” she told him but he shook his head
“N-no no I’ll keep it” he whispered, his eyes trailing her body without his permission. She could feel his eyes on her and she could feel herself getting hotter
“Can I have my hug?” She asked quietly and he cleared his throat with a nod
“Yeah- yes” he mumbled, pulling her close and holding her against him. His nose buried in her hair and the soft skin of her face pressed to his neck. His eyes fluttered shut and he held her their for a short well, his hands gently caressing her hips and waist.
He knew it would be inappropriate to touch her, to think of her in any indecent way but part of him just couldn’t help himself. He was attracted to her in every way, she was so kind and thoughtful. He wondered how happy she was on the day to day. He wondered how many people got to see her big smile and get given personal gifts from her.
Sometimes he worried that it would be bad to date a fan, would he be taking advantage of her love for him? And then the worry would settle, does she like him or his characters?
It clouded his mind and he felt her pull back, looking up at his face. “You okay?” She whispered, seeing his eyes zoned out. He seemed to snap back when her hand touched his face and she quickly retracted it “I’m sorry”
“No, it’s alright” he smiled, squeezing her hand gently before stepping back. “You were here for the autograph again?” He asked, and she shook her head
“Photo” she corrected and his face went red, glancing to the camera man who was looking thoroughly amused
“Right” he whispered “a photo” he repeated and she laughed softly
He pulled her close and smiled for the camera. She was the last one so he walked her back to the door, his hand automatically on her waist as though it belonged there.
———————————————————————
After that, Joseph had very nervously sent a message to Y/n. She had assumed it was on of her friends messing with her and told him to go away. He proceeded to ring her and prove her wrong making her apologise profusely and promise she didn’t know it was him. She could hear Daniel Gillies laughing in the back ground and Jospeh telling him to shut up but letting her know it was okay.
They messaged more and more frequently, video calling sometimes in the evening.
The two would talk about the next conventions and when they could see each other again, Joseph felt bad that Y/n had to pay so much to see him for a few minutes and offered to pay for her but she always refused. Until one day, a few months later when she couldn’t afford to go and he practically begged her to send her bank details so he could transfer her.
When she came and saw him, she hugged him so tight and kissed him on the cheek. He felt like he was floating, he went to his her on the cheek back but caught her lips. He could hear people around gasping but he couldn’t care in that moment. All he could think about was her lips on him, his finger weaved into her hair and he kissed her with as much passion as he could show without putting his tongue in her mouth.
He didn’t want people getting to many pictures so he turned her around, away from everyone so they could just see his back as he kissed her gently. His hand cupped her cheek once he reluctantly pulled away, his eyes on her swollen lips before their lifted to her eyes. She was breathing fast but Joseph knew he was too.
“I hope the next fan doesn’t get that too” she whispered and he laughed
“They won’t, I promise” he murmured, kissing her once more and grabbing his pen without turning around. He scribbled his signature onto her shirt, right on her breast making her grin. “I’ll call you later” he muttered, pecking her cheek
And with that she walked away, other fans squealing and looking at her as she floated through the crowds.

2 Truths 1 Lie : SMOSHBLR EDITION
Tumblr media
y’all ive been thinking about this one for a while lol- after the ‘smoshblr assumptions’ game was received so well i was like we haaaave to do another one- it brings the fandom so much closer and is honestly such a good way to get to know moots better <3
SO. without further ado- I present to you SMOSHBLR’s 2 Truths 1 Lie organised by yours truly with some help from kind friends @xxsuicidalravenxx & @babychosen <3
Here’s how you play:
Rb this post with ‘#i’m in’ so i can keep track of who’s playing
Between the hours of 9:00 am EST - 12:00 (noon) EST on Wed. June 5th (check what time that would be in your area) post a 1-day poll to your blog with 3 facts about yourself (the reason it’s a specific time is so we don’t miss any/have polls end at different times and make the game an endless loop )
Self-explanatory here, 1 of the facts should be completely false and the other two should be true.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE. please. do NOT give away personal information/intimate life details that could identify you. despite how awesome smoshblr is, the internet is still a scary place.
You can tag the poll whatever you’d like but please include #smoshblrtwotruths somewhere in the tags so i can rb it ;)
After your poll is up- you now have 24h to go on the #smoshblrtwotruths tag and have fun speculating on other’s facts in the replies of their posts and
VOTE FOR THE OPTION YOU THINK THEIR 1 LIE IS!!
You can ask others questions about their facts to help verify their stories via asks or replies on their polls, but keep in mind, just like in smosh’s real game version, they could be lying ;)
Be silly, be goofy, be kind.
After the polls end (sometime on Thursday the 6th), rb your poll explaining what the truths and lies actually were so we can see if we were right!!
At the end (Friday 7th) i’ll make a masterlist of all the truths & lies so we can clearly see who the winners were <3
AWARDS:
🎩 The Lesbian Wonkas 🍭 (The Winners)- people whose lie does NOT get found by collecting the most votes on the poll- will get a personalised playlist based on the vibes their tumblr gives off straight from my chaotic ass spotify <3
🐦‍⬛ The Birds of The Amazönê 🚬 (The Losers)- the losers will get sprayed with water a.k.a an influx of asks with nothing but 💦🔫💦🔫💦🔫💦🔫 in them (by participating in the game, you consent to this so don’t be annoyed at me. get sprayed, bestie)
okay. that’s it. please reply or send asks if the rules are unclear!! i’d suggest scheduling ur 2 Truths 1 Lie poll as soon as you have your facts so it can go up during the mentioned time with all the other polls and you don’t have to worry about posting it 🫶🏻
i’m tagging some moots so they know this is happening and just bc they’re awesome @lilac-hecox @sage-lights @japhan2024 @baflegacy @shesmore-shoebill feel free to tag your friends too <3
Let’s get truthing and lying, smoshblr!!!

Hi! What are your opinions on the leaks of the new season of Winx? Did you like the animation or the costumes?
My feelings on the new leaks are mixed.
On one hand, I'm a bit iffy on some of the designs (*cough* Stella *cough*), but on the other hand, I see where they were going with it and I think most of them will grow on me. The transformations I'm not hugely fond of, especially since Rainbow is leaning towards full reboot, so these being the starter transformations just doesn't sit right with me. They feel a bit busy while also being a bit lacking in personality (except Musa, who always get the best transformations and now is no exception). And the wings, while unique compared to the past few we've got, they all feel like the same shape. They are far more personalised, though, which I do like.
I am hard side-eyeing the fact that Musa seems to be lacking monolids in the final design. They could include that in the concept art, but not the actual show??
As for the animation, I think they're doing a pretty good job for the medium! I prefer 2D over 3D, especially for winx, but I understand why they made the decision, and I think they're making the best of it. I have a small feeling that the transformations will be a little lacklustre, but that tends to be a given in 3D if it's not a million dollar Disney movie. Honestly, as long as the story is good, the animation doesn't have to be amazing. Flora's transformation looks well-done for what we've seen.
Things I'm very excited about, though, are 1. the voice-acting, and 2. the new Alfea design.
The voices they used in the teaser are, imo, amazing choices! They sound, to me, like a good mix between the cinelume dub and the 4kids dub, which not only adds to the familiarity but also, the og voices were well cast and reflected the personalities in a way these new voices seem to do. Special mention to Flora's VA sounding Hispanic to reflect her being coded as Latina. Also, Tecna's made me laugh because she sounds like every emo character ever, and the contrast between her original personality and the emo voice is hilarious. Not bad, but certainly strange.
As for the new Alfea, I love it. It looks fantastic! It certainly sets a precedent for the environments we'll see throughout the show, and I really hope they live up to it. The classrooms look fabulous and the individual rooms we've seen (Wizgiz, Palladium, Faragonda, the dorm common area, the library) are all detailed in the best way. They have so much personality and the architecture is stunning. Even if the show ends up bad, if the scenery is even half as good as the concept art, I'll be happy.
Overall, I have my gripes, but I knew from the first announcement that I would. Rainbow can't please everyone, and even if they're doing a lot to please the older fans, it has to still be able to draw in a new audience. This reboot is a huge gamble for them, so I'll remain cautiously optimistic and try to not bash on it before it comes out.
