Adjagender
Ok so I've been digging and I haven't found a gender identity that exactly describes how I feel, so I decided to coin one. I'm not super familiar with the culture of MOGAI so if I commit a major faux pas just let me know and I'll try my best to fix it.
Adjagender is a descriptive umbrella term to describe the feeling of being adjacent to a gender in a way that is neither wholly binary nor non-binary.
[More flags/descriptions under the break. Image IDs in alt text]
While this term may overlap with demigender, paragender, perigender, offgender, sortagender, and similar terms for some, adjagender describes the grey area in between identifying entirely as a binary or nonbinary version of that gender.
The following terms are examples of how this can be used:
adjabinary- being neither wholly binary nor nonbinary
[the general adjagender flag at the top of the post can be used as an adjabinary flag too!]
adjaboy/adjaman- having a miaspec gender that is neither wholly binary nor nonbinary
[left: adjaboy flag. right: adjaman flag]
adjagirl/adjawoman- having a fiaspec gender that is neither wholly binary nor nonbinary
[left: adjagirl flag. right: adjawoman flag]
The colors of the main part of the flag represent the wide range of genders that can feel binary-adjacent, the black bar represents a feeling of separation, and the rightmost bar represents a binary gender.
You can append the adja- prefix to any gender identity to show that your identity is adjacent to the binary understanding of that gender. You can also add the black stripe/color stripe to any flag to denote that it's an adjagender (assuming there isn't anything important over there).
As an example, here's what an adjacatboygender flag would look like:
[flag source here.]
The color of the stripe on the right can be anything that you think represents the most binary version of that gender.
(Sorry, but I can't help you figure out if you're adjagender. If you vibe with the term, use it. I'm also not accepting requests to make adjagender versions of preexisting flags. If you want to make your own, the rightmost stripe should be the same width as the main stripes and the black stripe should be half that width. In flags with vertical stripes, feel free to make the two added stripes horizontal)
Alright thanks for reading, I hope this is helpful for somebody out there :)
-DNI-
TERFs/gender critical DNI: I am a grown adult reflecting on my own gender. I'm thinking critically about my own identity.
Anti-MOGAI/anti-neos/anti-xenos DNI: See above.
"Men DNI"/"mspec gays DNI" DNI: I'm a dude. I'm in a gay relationship, and I'm usually attracted to other dudes. Even though I can be attracted to any gender, gay is a pretty good descriptive term for me (in my book at least).
Otherwise, go ham :) You're allowed to make color edits or different versions of the flag (as long as they're not mean towards a group of people). Just don't sell it as merch or anything without asking me first :)

Perineutral!!
Perigender is a gender with two possible definitions. The first, and most common definition, is when one identifies with a gender, but not as that gender. One may feel like their gender is comparable to a certain gender, but is not that gender or does not full fit the definition of that gender. It may be similar to offgender. The second definition is a gender that is not currently known, but is becoming clearer over time. It is a transitional identity.

Paragirl
Paragirl
Paragirl (parafeminine, parafemale): a paragender subset which is connected to feminine or feminine aligned identities. One's feminine identity will make up 51%-99% of one's gender, whilst the remaining percentage may be any other gender or combination of genders.
[Image ID: a flag with nine horizontal stripes of different sizes. Their colors are, from top to bottom, grey, white, light orange, orange, red, orange, light orange, white and grey. The red stripe is smaller than the others. The grey ones are bigger. End ID]

flags by pride-flags
These are terribly drawn but I think(hope) you get the picture.
These are flags for perigirl and periboy respectively.
From the Greek “peri” meaning around. It’s when you feel your gender is comparable to a certain gender, but is a non binary identity and not even partially that binary gender.
Maybe you could remake them? It’s just dark grey, pink (or blue for periboy), light grey, light yellow, and medium grey.
Grey signifies the grey area between this gender and the binary genders. Pink/Blue signifies the binary genders. Yellow signifies the non binary-ness of it all.

Questioning culture is being unsure if you really feel like your agab if you were just socialized to do so. But at the same time feeling enough like it to not fully consider yourself agender.

Since we seem to be talking about gender. I don't really know what to call myself. I'm okay with identifying as a girl and going be she/her pronouns, but I pretty much could hardly care what you call me. Like I feel like a girl while at the same time it's like nothingness.
hooo boy alrighty lemme just grab out mah dictionary! you can identify as more than one gender if it fits you! ♡
Agender– Having no gender or a lack of gender identity
Approxigender– when you feel that you are not exactly a gender, but that the gender is the closest thing that fits. If you are approxi-agender, for example, you feel that you are not exactly agender but that agender is the closest term to what you feel.
Commogirl–When you know you aren’t cisgender, but you settle for your assigned gender for the time being
Femgender–A non-binary gender which is primarily feminine in nature. Do not use femmegender unless you are a lesbian, as otherwise it is appropriative of lesbian culture.
Genderblank– Having a gender which can only be described by a blank space; when one’s gender is called into question, a blank space is all that comes up.
Gendernegative– A state in which one feels that their gender is not present, similar to genderflux.
Gendervoid– A gender that is filled with void. also known as voidgender
Gyragirl– Having multiple genders, which you don’t understand, but knowing they have feminine qualities. Subset of gyragender.
Juxera– Feminine gender similar to girl, but on a separate plane and off to itself.
Libragender– Feeling agender, but with a particular connection to masculinity or femininity, e.g. librafeminine.
Nullgender– Being without gender, but it is not agender or neutrois, a term for those to give a “tangibility” to the intangible thing that is their gender.
Offgender– A gender that closely represents/is most closely represented by another gender, but is not that gender. Can be alikened to what the color off-white is to white for descriptive purposes. Similar in definition to paragender and perigender.
Paragender– Feeling very near one gender, and partially something else, ex. paragirl. The “something else” may or may not be known.
Perigender– Identifying with a gender, but not as that gender.
Perogender– Wanting to be a certain gender, but not being of said gender.
Personagender– A term used to describe a gender which is used in public as a social identity even though the individual doesn’t completely identify that way, eg. personagirl.
Subgender– Mostly agender with a bit of another gender, ex. subgirl.
Xirl– Someone who identifies in some way as a nonbinary girl or nonbinary girl-adjacent. Someone who identifies with some part of woman/girlhood but who wants a more nonbinary and neutral sounding word because they aren’t entirely girls or don’t want to be associated with the typical ideas brought up by the word “girl.”

so like, i know pre- is an orientation but can you be a pre gender? like as in not feeling like your far enough in your experience with your gender to know what your gender is?
Pregender is defined as “a feeling that one’s gender is growing into, but not quite yet at, a particular gender. A preboy, for example, may feel that their gender is transitioning towards, but has not yet reached, male”. I don’t think that would be the same thing as what the orientation pre means.
These labels may be slightly more accurate:
Perigender: “A gender identity that is not currently known, but is becoming clearer over time. A transitional identity. Not to be confused with Paragender.“
Anongender: “A gender that is unknown to both yourself and others.“
Apsconsugender: “A gender identity that is a process of elimination. What it is--is unknown, but the person is able to define what it isn’t.A gender where you know what it isn’t, but not what it is. like the gender is hiding itself from you.“
There are also other labels that have to do with unknown genders, and gender questioning, of course. But idk. I don’t think I would personally have a problem with a second definition for pregender or with a new label either...? Usually it’s best to have separate labels, but I feel like pre as an orientation is more well known. Idk.

I’ve been perusing the Gender Wiki (which I stumbled upon whilst looking up the nonbinary and demigender flags in preparation for drawing my nb Danny icon) and it occurred to me that I might be using Daniel to try to figure out my own gender. Last week, I started writing a fic where he comes out as nonbinary - I had somehow come to the conclusion that the Ancient language has separate pronouns for multiple genders, both binary and nonbinay, one being masculine-adjecent, and then immediately decided that he would use those, which is how I came to hc him as nb. [And then I made myself sad seeing as Ancient is basically proto-Latin and Latin only has masculine, feminine, and neuter forms, and also we currently live in a society that’s largely pretty queerphobic or at the very least cisheteronormative despite being influenced by a society that was much more liberal… but that’s beside the point.]
But the thing is, while I am figuring out how I see Daniel’s relationship to gender, I still have no fucking clue what mine is. All I know is I’m afab and consider myself neither cis nor trans. So if this was supposed to be an unconscious attempt to figure out what exactly my gender is, it ain’t working lmao
#gender is honestly so fascinating#idk how many i’ll manage to remember but i have learned so many new terms today for nb genders#offgender and perigender might apply to how i headcanon danny#before i’d just gone with demiboy or the more general nonbinary (or occasionally genderqueer)#basically like for me except i prefer demigender over demigirl#anyway i’m probably gonna go with the nonbinary flag for him since it includes ALL nb genders#i don’t gotta worry about using the demigender or demiboy flag and then later realizing that opp nope that’s not how i hc him actually#daniel jackson

Pentrois
Describing pengenders/penugenders/penegender/paenegenders/paenugenders/paengenders, paragenders, quasi-genders, -jux-/-prox(imal)- genders, perigenders and almogenders. Who are proximal to certain gender in the spectrum.
Based on penultrois/penultimatrois, pen- meaning "almost, nearly", just as in penumbra and peninsula. Alternative words: penutrois, paentrois, paenutrois, paenetrois, penetrois, peritrois, paratrois, pertrois, partrois, proxitrois, pæntrois, pænutrois.
Ultimatrois
Or ultrois. Conoting ultimate genders or gender ultimacy, your final/last gender (previous/prior/recent/subsequent) or its extremity/maximum. Your foremost, furthest gender (innermost/utmost/midmost/topmost), but it's ultimary not citimary/citrois, ulterior(ity) not citerior(ity) [citi-/citer-/citra- is the opposite of ultra-/ulti-/ulter-].
Ultimarity could be an (ant)arity that goes beyond limits or is subsequent/ends somewhere. Uls denotes beyond, just as extr(a)-/exter-.
Paenultrois/paenultimatrois can result in (pro/pre)antepenultrois/(pro/pre)antepaenultrois/(pro/pre)antepaenultimatrois/(pro/pre)antepenultimatrois, indicating gender(s) before the penultimate one, that you may or may not have.
