been playing the new pokemon thingy, and so far .. i liked arceus way more :I the character customization is really neat in this one but i miss the more active and dynamic fight/catch system, really made it all feel more "real"

In an attempt to exorcise these thoughts from my brain (this movie has taken up residence in my soul), here is an incomplete list of the things I notice and love in Red White and Royal Blue.

1. Henry staring in utter disbelief at the frosting-covered whiskey tumbler Alex plops distractedly into his hand whilst pawing ineffectually at the mess all over Henry's shoulder. Comedy gold.

2. Nora pretending she doesn't know either of them and hiding her face as they scuffle in front the cake.

3. How Alex has Henry literally in his pocket while talking turkey.

4. During Henry's "what does it mean" crisis talk over The Kiss, the entire scene is dressed in bi flag colours. Nora is in pink, Alex in blue, with a purple poster in the background.

5. The soft "whoa" of the white house staffer, who walks into Nora's office just in time to hear her ask Alex: "How many guys have you been with?" She hesitates, stunned, and then looks as if she'd like the ground to open up and swallow her now, thank you very much.

6. His Royal Hardness making flustered small talk with the UK Prime Minister and the US President, while the FSOTUS goes in for a cheeky squeeze. You ridiculous, giddy, fools.

7. Ellen's exasperated "my son thinks he's a fucking comedian" look in reply to Alex's "The night is young, Ma" and his shit eating grin, before diplomatically, and very sensibly, removing the British PM from the vicinity of these two horny idiots.

8. Alex's warm and teasing delivery of "Are they known for their homosexual tendencies?" after Henry says he's "as gay as a maypole." Boy is smitten.

9. When Henry invites Alex to the charity polo match, his initial awkward nerves transition to fond derision when Alex's tells him, crestfallen, that he doesn't know how to play polo. Bless.

10. Henry on a horse. Very much in agreement with Alex on this one.

11. The interleaved editing of the polo match and tack room shenanigans. It reminds me strongly of the interlaced 'what if' scene in Steven Sodenburg's Out of Sight, which is executed at a far slower pace but delivers that same feel of two people being inexorably drawn to each other, almost as if events are fated to happen.

12. The lighting in the Paris cafe scene. God damn those are two beautiful men.

13. Henry's gleefuly bashful admission of innuendo in the Paris cafe. He's just given Alex his full Royal name, but its Henry Fox that's in control here and he's revelling in bringing every moment of his inner fantasies to life.

14. The heartbreaking disconnect between their two perspectives in the Paris walk scene.

Alex has spent his life pushing defiantly against societal expectations. Henry has spent his life weighed down by them, isolated in a way that Alex only barely grasps.

15. I wish, with all my heart, that the fairytale political landscape of this movie was real.

16. The entirety of the morning after scene in the hotel room during the DNC is perfection and Zahra is the MVP. Matthew Lopez said he had no idea he was going to get that mini panic attack from Sarah Shahi and kudos to Sarah for that perfomance. Inspired.

17. How quickly and assertively Alex say "No" to Zarah's "would it make any difference if I told you not to see him again?"

18. The way Zarah says "Everytime I see you, it takes another year off my life." This phrase plays on loop in my brain during shitty work meetings.

19. The coming out scene with Alex and his Mom. A joyous balm for those of us who never got to experience that with our own parents.

20. Forehead touches. Ugh.

21. My brother in Christ, sharpen your knives Oscar, what did that pepper do to deserve that?

22. The catatonic state of sadness that Henry exists in after swimming away from Alex. My heart hurts.

23. The pride flags in the crowd outside Buckingham Palace. Again, can we all have this universe, pretty please?

24. The way Henry takes Alex's hand with such ease in public after the election win. If only Paris Henry could see you now.

-Also not into it. -Though if he was really into you, he'd continue to date you if you promised to quit. -His family would actually accept you with time. -As I actually believe Midorima's family does just wants him to be happy. After all, they always put up with all of his weird habits. -If you were the daughter of a sex worker and struggled with the whole underworld looming over your childhood, Midorima would actually be someone who'd help you. -His family in this scenario would adopt you if they could.

Aomine

-Into it. -Though he'll punch every guy bothering you after work. -He can also get pretty jealous. -Momoi accepts you. -Aomine buys and has a pole installed into his home. -He loves seeing you dance for him, and he will jerk off as he watches you. -He wouldn't interrupt you during a performance though, he wants to appreciate you. -Will break when you give him a lap dance, and he'll take you right there and then.

Murasakibara

-Doesn't care. -He's not posessive or anything, and grants you your freedom as you please. -Does like it when you perform for him in a candy girl aesthetic. -He lives for that sort of thing. -His family doesn't cares much either. -Murasakibara is just the one who's the most cool with everything.

Kise -Very much into it at first. -But I think he'd be more jealous and uncomfortable with it once you're married and settled down. I just get that vibe from Kise. -Just like I have the vibe that his older sisters will recommend you specific outfits to tease him (he definitely seems like the type to get teased by his older siblings). -Kise will errupt into nose bleeds if you wear them, and will pretty much be in a daze when he watches you perform. -If you'd be interested, Kise is the one who can arrange roles for you in the film industry, like being an erotic dancer in a strip club scene. -Kise has some videos of your perfomances stored, so whenever he has to go to another country for a shoot or fashion show, he can pleasure himself watching you. -He's your number one fan.

Quashing this Michael Gregson/Downton Season 4 rumour once and for all (hopefully).

I've seen this going round for a while, that because of Charles and his busy schedule, Gregson got killed off and never made it past season 3.

Here’s the rumour taken from a Screenrant article:

Where did this come from? Who said this? Fellowes? Production?

Charles?

Certainly not.

Under the cut is my theory (only a theory, but based on evidence I have gathered) as to the real reason why we got no Gregson after s3.

The biggest red flag to me is that Charles himself has stated that he was actually very keen to come back, saying,

"I’d have liked to have married Lady Edith, of course I would. It was denied me. I don’t know why.” - interview from OfficialLondonTheatre.com

I don't know why.

Now if the rumour was true, you would think Charles would have said something like, "I would’ve liked to have married Edith, but due to my other work commitments, I could not fulfill this wish," instead?

Granted, during season 4 filming, he was doing a stage job at the West End (a few Downton allumni, inc Joanne Froggatt, went to see him during its run), so maybe the rumour started based on the fact he already had a job so couldn’t have fit Downton in, right?

Not necessarily.

Did you know, that during season 3 filming, Charles was actually doing two acting jobs? Yes. Downton during the day, then a National Theatre production in the evening. His play opened on 23rd Feb 2013, then the day after, he was spotted filming in St Pancras station with Laura Carmichael. So it is entirely possible that he could have fitted in season 4 filming alongside a stage job if he had to.

But but but, I hear you cry, Charles would have had to take some time off from his play to do Downton? He could have done that yes; actors have been known to break off a theatre run for other projects, but nope. He made it to every single performance. The theatre would have announced if he had to leave for a period due to other acting commitments, but never did. So 🤷‍♀️

I'm going to add Fellowes could have also gone, "Right Charles, we're signing you up for season 4," and if he had already accepted the stage job, could've cancelled and done Downton as top priority (Charles did once have to forfeit a stage role for a TV role due to a scheduling clash - in 2022 he was signed up to do Best of Enemies at the West End, but Rings of Power was a much bigger commitment than preciously predicted, and due to a plethora of reasons, filming ROP AND perfoming BOE would have been an impossible feat).

So in conclusion, it wasn't Charles's fault we got no more Gregson. It was Fellowes's doing; he didn't want him back. Or did, but couldn’t think of how to bring him back.

TL;DR: Charles wanted to come back and could have fitted season 4 into his schedule, but Fellowes didn't ask him to return.

As Buck arrives to the emergency room Eddie switches with Chim doing compressions, and he is the one that got his pulse back, i’m-

the doctors say they’ll do their best, Eddie shouts “Do More!”

Okay i’m going to go off the racks with this one, but while he’s in a coma Buck is having this dream of how things would’ve gone if Daniel did’t die, and it’s sort of a search for himself and the reconciliation with the kid that he could have been, the family and the parents that he never had, in order to grow.

I feel like Eddie wasn’t in that dream for a reason and it’s gonna sound crazy but here we go. As Buck realizes that he is enough he runs through the hospital and comes across people trying to stop him from returning, like obstacles he has to overcome. He doesn’t come acrosss Eddie, but he does find Christopher.

Christipher says: “help i’m lost, can you help me find my dad?”

Buck “sorry you’re but you’re not real and i have to go

as he runss away he says “i know i’m going to regret That one later. “

My theory for why eddie wasn’t in the dream was

1. Buck would have probably stayed with him (dead) 😅 and

2. up until that point he hasn’t seen Eddie for what he truly is, and he has to find himself and accept who he is in order to find Eddie too

but buck couldn’t have stayed in the dream with Eddie because he hadn’t figured it out yet, he doesn’t understand yet that he is lovable and that there are people in his life that love him for who he already is, he can’t see himself clearly.

S6:E12 Recovery

I love the couch theory 😭🫶 In this episode Buck can’t sleep in his couch (the one his mom bought) at all, and when he leaves a note to Maddie saying he was going out, he actually meant going to Eddie’s house <3 as soon as he touches the couch he is 😴 out of it. Buck it feels like the only place you are safe and comfortable is your best friend’s couch. See also every one of them has their spot on the couch! 😭 Buck left > Chris middle > Eddie right.

Eddie subconsciously realizing that he has never dated a woman for real and that comes from his upbringing of heteronormativity and fear of divorce? i know for my part (i’m mexican) that divorce is viewed as a failure and a disgrace. i also liked that he talked to his tía Pepa and he finds out she has divorced an remarried, he looks surprised because as i said, divorce are sort of a hush hush and taboo topic in our culture. so hopefully he starts his growing journey soon.

S6:E18 Pay It Forward

I know this is not the purpose of this rant thread but i loved seeing the mirroring between the first season when there is a full moon and the women are giving starting to give birth simultaneously and Buck is close to useless and that woman has to give birth herself 😂 and now, where Kameron is starting to give birth and he is caalm, and calls 911 and knows exactly what to do and what to say, i think it was a great example of his growth 🫶

Buck doesn’t learn, he’s just gonna jump and ask Natalia to pick a couch with him 😐

Weeping Wisteria

-Yuu Fujisaki after his debut performance of Fuji Musume, 10 y.o

I've been slowly working on Yuu lore and how it'd affect the current twst story + his relationships and manerisms.

One of the things I've focused the most on is his childhood as an Onnagata trainee.

I think that to follow up on Yuu's literal " a genius that's god's punching bag" trope, I'd do a couple of retconning to his backstory. Most of these are minor changes, but methinks it will impact how he interacts with people— esp a couple NRC students.

(Base info pre-retcon about the Fujisaki clan can be found here)

To start off, Ataru (Yuu's father) would be laid off right before Yuu was born, meaning Yuu wouldn't have known a life before Kabuki training.

This would serve the purpose of reinforcing Yuu's belief that he himself is a bad omen or a bad luck magnet for people, as his family probably wouldn't have struggled so much if Yuu was not born.

Also, though it's common for women in JPN to be housewives after marrying, Yuu's mom, Kanna (環花), would probably also need to resume working if they're struggling. I think Kotonoha would also start tutoring underclassmen for some extra cash to help her parents out + save for college education. His family adores him and each other, of course. And would try to spend as much time together as possible, but sometimes it just can't be done.

This would change Yuu's upbringing in two major factors:

1. He would have spent a lot more time with both his grandfather and great-uncle, which would mean he'd be inducted in two very different sides of Kabuki + also very different, contrasting expectations of what he should be like.

2. He'd have to learn to be independent fairly quickly.

Hiroshi and Nagisa are complete opposites of each other. Whilst Hiroshi gives indiscriminately no matter how little he has, Nagisa is overzealous of the family's wealth─ both knowledge and resources.

Nagisa may have accepted his grandson back into the family, but he only accepted his grandson. He would pay for his education and help with Yuu's needs with a monthly allowance, but that would be it. The rest of the family would still be left to fend by themselves.

Yuu's not dumb, he would notice the difference. After all, why was he given expensive brand-name clothes and attended a prestigious academy that he had to be taken to and from with a private driver, whilst his sister shopped in thrift stores and went to their local public school by foot? Why did his dad never come pick him up from practice and was picked up by his uncle instead? Why were his parents so stressed about pinching pennies to pay next month's rent when grandpa's manor was full of empty rooms?

He would've caught on quick to his position as a very real bargaining chip to maintain his family's finantial stability.

So, I think that Yuu, even though he would grow to hate performing as an onnagata, would not quit Kabuki as soon as possible. In fact, I think he'd continue until high school, were he'd enter an indefinite hiatus just so he could have a normal teenage experience + focus on university before returning to perfom.

Also, I think with how close he is to his cousin Nagihiko, he would not want him to suffer under the stress of becoming the Fujisaki heir— at least not while their grandfather is alive and imposing such standards. He wants Nagihiko to have the carefree childhood Yuu was robbed of because of family politics.

Because of this fact, I think Yuu would be much more prone to sacrifice his happiness if it brought out a greater good. I don't think it's out of pure selflessness, though. He's very pragmatic about the pros and cons of things— and ifthe suffering of one ensures the happiness of many, he does not see any problem with it. I think he would also see his self value in what he is useful for, hence why he would eventually hone his abilities to the point of polymathy.

Then, there's uncle Hiroshi. God bless his man because he actually tried to give Yuu a normal childhood. Whenever he wasn't at his grandpa's slaving away at different subjects, he would be at his uncle's theater office or exploring the backrooms of the place. Hiroshi was a busy man, of course— he had his own business to run, but he did his best to keep him entrtained with what he could. He also was the one to notice Yuu's academic potential as the little bugger would rather read his uncles dusty finance and politic books than the fairytales and picture books he bought especially for him. Hiroshi would have been Yuu's biggest advocate, and since Ataru didn't have the money or leverage to fight back against Nagisa, I think Hiroshi would take that place instead. Hiroshi is described to be extremely generous to a fault, so, as a result, I think Yuu would've witnessed the various times his uncle was backstabbed and taken advantage of, yet still managed to rise back and continue working on his passion.

That's what Yuu's goal was before he got interloped; he wants to bide his time and keep his head down, so once he has enough strength and leverage himself, he can finally stand up for his family... or at least the side that genuinely cares about him.

Yuu loves and admires his uncle, but he does not want to be hurt as many as he was. So Yuu would end up being much more closed off and stand-offish than his own personal hero. He would be reluctant to have close friends and confidantes, effectively making most his relationships superficial except for maybe 3 or 4 close friends he holds very dear to him. None of which are from TWST. I think he's the type of friend that listens to all your problems and knows so much about you, but when you look back— Yuu's NRC friends would realize they don't know anything about him other than the very rare nuggets of trivia he allows them to have.

Yuu is also observant and patient. Let's be real for a second— Yuu is at an infinite disadvantage. He has no magic, no money, no family name, and his smarts can only get him so far in a world he knows nothing about. He knows he needs to play things safe if he wants to survive NRC and its students— at least until he finds something he can fight back with. Humans are endurance predators, after all. (He's still a piece of shit with a big mouth, though)

There's so much more I want to elaborate on, but much like Galatea, it'll take me a while organize all my word vomit. Either way, Yuu's backstory and family dynamics are something I have so much fun of thinking about, because his life was so rich before twst! He had friends, a family and responsibilities to take care of. It's both tragic and freeing that he got taken just at such a pivetal point in his life, where he would have to make the choice to continue living for others or start living for himself.

Haruto: Mine is a Night Crow TR145HF/S, but I call it Raven. It's a stamina type bey, I don't battle much or have any time for it, really, but I guess I base my style on dodging strategies, especially in the first half of a fight. Raven uses it's perfomance tip to change it's speed very quickly and be almost impossible to hit, until the opponent loses it's speed. Although the fusion wheel doesn't deal much in attack, the spin track usually gives Raven enough momentum from the opponent's previous attack to push them very quickly out of bound. As for it's spirit, I noticed that Raven's spirit form's size depends on how much energy i put into a fight. It can go from an average sized crow to one of the size of... I don't know, like a lamp post I guess? It's pretty rare though.

Shoyo: My beyblade is called Forbidden Actaeo. He has an spin track just like Hyoma's Aries, an Eternal Defense 145 track, and a Coated Stamina performance tip, like Masamune's Striker has. I'd say my battling style is pretty interchangeable, though I prefer to play on avoidance most of the time. Actaeo is very fast, and he often plays on his performance tip to stop in his tracks and strike from a different direction. His stamina and defense stats are very good, and his attacks are reinforced by the high speed he manages to maintain during fights. It's a really good balance type, I always manage to get out of sticky situations thanks to his resourcefulness! Though... there are some aspects of him that I have yet to be familiar with... Or want to use. But that's not important, sorry. His spirit is a deer, he actually has changed a lot, it's like he's been growing alongside me! Now he has antlers, and more hair around his neck too! Though sometimes his eyes look like a whole other animal... But- I must be imagining things. It seems he's not done transforming, it's a little scary but I guess... also exciting.

I never think what Gunwook said will become true because we never have anything to do with the class next to us. But, we are. Now.

For your information, we are not in a good terms with the next class, well, something did happened. It was not because of me for sure.

The data is there on their sols fbs you can check so yes music wise jm has always been popular there and fans wise too cause like jk who's most fans are in the sea countries jm's most fans are from US. Things must have changed a little with jk performing at world cup and then with seven all the perfomances he did in the US. You said something like layover also did good without any US promo then no his songs were out of US chart on the 2nd or 3rd day something. Maybe it has re-entered later and all but his title song debuting at #56(idk the exact number) on BB hot 100 would tell you that.

Now jm actually would have beat Taylor in sales and would have got that BBMAS award if only Geffen had moved when fans were tagging them to restock it cause jm already had biggest sales of that week in the US. He needed just some thousands in order to him to get that most sold song beating Taylor but nahhh Geffen would not move a single finger for that. That screams sabotage. And no there's no explanation for geffen's behaviour. You said that seven has high chance of something so Maybe that's why Geffen restocked seven again and again but then how come jm is the only k-pop soloist who's nominated in the main category of sales with other white artists? Because he has the highest sales so tell me what potential they didn't see in LC that they were seeing in seven even tho seven sold less than LC?

You said jm's LC also got TTh so why are ppl complaing about seven's tth...cause jm's title song which is LC korean version has spend 0 days on TTh and his English version spent some 20 days on TTh now you get the difference? One title track not getting a playlist vrs other members getting one. And it's not just about the TTh it's also about the placement on TTh. People with less stream were there on TTh while LC despite having more no of streams didn't get TTh and not only TTh but there's data people posts where you can see shark difference between playlist reach of jm and all other members cause he had less playlist reach till now. Jm did great in US with just one Jimmy Fallon performance. JK fits the bad boy image, sure, a bit, he has tattoos, piercings, a more muscular body, etc. He's hot in a way the US is used to. I know some people think JM is too "feminine" or whatever.

That's not true. Jimin's English is actually better than JK's, and I think his accent is better too. Maybe in songs Jungkook's accent is less noticeable. The biggest difference is that Jungkook knows how to sing in English - how to adapt his singing to the language - better. And his voice fits Western pop better.

And here the underhanded comments begin. So, your argument is, that if Jimin was less of an artist and willing to just take what was handed to him (which he did for, you know, Angel pt. 1), then he would've been the preferred choice for Golden and JK's other collabs because he's more popular in the US? Jimin only has writing credits on Lie among his solo BTS songs. He gave his input on choreo, and probably styling and themes. Jungkook has writing credits on Begin and My Time. He also participated in the performance and/or styling decisions behind Dreamers, Seven, 3D, SNTY, and all of Golden. Saying Jungkook didn't give any input on Golden, like Jimin hasn't recorded With You and Angel Pt. 1 without any input of his own, even if they're only collabs... I think Jimin is very much capable of accepting a song that is given to him, and Jungkook very much chose his songs. No one "dictated" Golden. Jungkook has agency. He knew what he was doing. He chose every track.

LGBT+ movement in music: Bowie, Elton and Freddie

In june its the pride month, we commemorate the stonewall tragedy. Music and artists has always been important in vidications of social issues. They have a voice that can be use to communicate ideas about acceptance and empathy.

About this, there's a lot of artist that we can think of when we talk about breaking gender stereotypes and LGBT+ vindication. We have David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Elton John, so on. 

About Bowie, in 1975 he presented an award and said "Ladies and gentlemen and others, recognicing gender diversity. Also he always tried to break gender stereotypes with his looks. There's an interview when someone ask him, "are those man shoes or women shoes?" and Bowie answer "they're just shoes, silly". 

About Elton John, as a gay man has always been and LGTB activist and founded the Elton John AIDS foundation to prevent and treat AIDS. Also he uses his music to promote sexual diversity and personal acceptation. 

About Freddie, he is a very important figure to LGBT community. He broke gender stereotypes with his perfomances and also wrote acceptance anthems like Bohemian Rhapsody. After he died Brian May (Queen member) and Jim Beach founded the Mercury Phoenix Trust which is a foundation to help people with AIDS around the world

i'm going to do both tarlos and nancymarjan for this, because making me choose just one favourite is like making a mother choose between her children

for tarlos: the growth!! their relationship has never been a perfect shining example of a textbook healthy relationship, but that wasn't a deal breaker, they both had things to work through indivudally and together and that's okay!! you see them grow and change and learn to let each other in and communciate and talk instead of just running (tk) or ignoring/deflecting (carlos), and also the soulmateism of it all, i truly think they would find each other in any universe, they're the perfect fit for each other.

for nancymarjan: i know you more or less said the same in your own answer but it's also my favourite thing so i'm saying it too, just like the way they would balance each other in a relationship, they'd fit and work together because they are so different, the missing piece in each other's puzzle, opposites attracting.

it's probably a cliche/boring/predictable choice because they do have a fair bit of screentime together, but i'm going with tk and nancy. i just adore their sibling vibes and their banter and the way she didn't just immeditely accept tk as her new work bestie, and he put in the work anyway and showed her she was valued and worthy of inclusion. i could talk about the significance of the ambulance painting scene for days honestly it's everything. also did i mention the banter, i just love their dynamic so much

Criticism In Music

A criticism, or “critique” as it is also called, refers to any kind of oral or written opinion, whether negative or positive, communicated to a perfomer by an instructor, judge, mentor, other musician or even non-musician. It is an evaluation of a performance that is shared to the performer by the evaluator. It is sometimes also shared with the public, such as in media, where, in this case, it is more commonly known as a “review” . You, as a musician, can become adversely affected in your morale and possibly even discouraged if you do not know how to properly deal with it. Any art, including music, is so close to the persons very essence that any criticism about it can hit home like a ton of bricks, even devastating an individual, believe it or not.

But criticism for the musician is inevitable. It comes with the territory of learning and performing music, from instructors, other musicians, admirers, fans, from all sorts of sectors. It is an inherent aspect of conservatories and music competetitions.

Technically speaking, every person has the right to express his/her opinion on anything. Oftentimes, people feel the need to express their feelings regarding anything in the arts. You hear it a lot with film and music. These can come off as either complimentary or critical.

If one receives a praiseful comment, such as how wonderful or moving their performance was, they should accept it, thank the originator and be genuinely proud that they could capture anothers heart with their aesthetic power. It is encouraging to hear such words, and rightfully so.

However, ANY criticism or advice, either negative or even positive, from a non-professional (non-musician) should be entirely and utterly ignored.

Regardless of whatever personal impact you created upon the listener, they are not the correct source for technical advice.

Example: A pianist is performing a Bach piece and gets carried away with the dynamics (loudness and softness of various notes).

After the performance, his friend, a non-musician whos dabbled in studying some music theory, praises him and advises him on how great the intensity on the dynamics was during the performance.

The pianist makes the mistake of taking this as technical advice (instead of just differentiating between that and praise).

He then enters a music competition where he performs the piece by getting carried away again on the dynamics.

He promptly gets flunked and loses the competition because this piece he was performing, of the Baroque era, does not feature any sort of extremity in dynamics.

When a musician receives professional criticism, however, it can oftentimes be contradictory. For instance, one authority may say how excellent ones pedaling is while another comments on how muddy it sounds. This can leave a musician with uncertainty and unnecessary confusion. A thing to realize is that profesional technical critiquing can sometimes be opinion-oriented. But, it can also very well be corrective. There is a way to deal with this.

A musician always truly knows his or her own areas of weakness. These become more prominent and the individual becomes more tuned and aware of them as time and progress goes on. One should always be able to take such criticism without becoming introverted or feeling harmed. When one gets any such critiquing, the first thing to do is take it into consideration and evaluate it for themselves. If one feels that criticism was incorrect, then they have a right to evaluate that accordingly. A musician should always maintain his/her integrity. Though, at the same time, they should be open-minded and willing to learn more and become better and better. There is a fine line between not going the effect of poor criticism and being stubborn and never learning anything.

Lastly, there are always those individuals in society who seek to squash and put down creative minds, whether out of jealousy, insanity or their own failures. This occurs in any of the arts. As a musician, NEVER allow anyone to do this to you, for their “criticism” is merely an effort to overtly and openly put you down, or to slowly and insidiously suppress you by sounding “helpful” . Disregard it and continue being creative and making music!

"i'm not mad. just disappointed," she prods, a shit-eating grin on her lips. god, has rue heard that one before. once she feels he's been sufficiently teased and chastised, rue is all too happy to let the subject change. "nah, he's a big shot real-estate developer, half the town is in his pocket. nate's been terrorizing jules on his behalf. my ex."

(it's probably more fucked up that he's singling out her orientation as opposed to the context of her confession.) joe swallows, and has the decency to feel at least moderately ashamed. he knows of nate jacobs; seen his towering cryptid figure, heard the whispers of his varying girlfriends, sensed the fame and contrary infamy he lorded like currency. everyone either wanted him, or wanted him dead -- and there seemed to be no middle ground. it was clear how rue felt, and joe had little reason to feel differently. How do you feel abt Peniel? I’ve been a btob fan since debut and in the later years it really feels like he’s a filler member. Doesn’t rap well doesn’t do anything not even famous internationally to give some international clout and pulls the “im bad in korean” card like it’s a damn personality trait. well, anon, whoever you are... i dont really vibe with the way you worded this. i could write 5 paragraphs but i dont think its worth my time trying to argue and / or convince you, since you seem deep set in your opinion of peniel. i will try to keep it medium lenght. as biased as i am, i admit he has some meh solo releases and verses. but huta also has questionable, borderline nonsensical raps but since he's hot no one cares. if peniel's raps weren't in english, most people wouldnt give a shit about how corny they are. he doesnt even pull the i'm bad at korean card as often as some idols do... if he can get ilhoon's wordplay heavy jokes, then his korean is p decent. imho he's never been a filler member. he was added last minute due to lineup change but btob welcomed him with open arms and took good care of him. i respect peniel for doing his idol job well and having one of the healthies idol-fan dynamics. you probably know that already, but at the same time as his hair condition got so bad his parents wanted him to leave btob, his close friend passed away in tragic accident. dude was visibly shaken, but not long after he started working hard on improving himself, got more lines and started to slowly carve his path. is he the best idol rapper? no. when he was thrown into dance group in kondom, he didn't hide his shortcomings. he knew he'd stick out like a sore thumb unless he works his ass off to catch up. so he spent extra hours practicing. was his perfomance especially mindblowing? no. but in this world where everyone expects perfection and seemingly values this magical thing called talent, i enjoy seeing someone accept they are average at best. and work hard to keep up, even if they only aim at not being a burden to others. do i enjoy everything he does? i dont have to. he's not a deadweight, he lucked out with being added to btob but it's not like he doesnt contribute Anything?? there's a lot going on with idol groups offstage, peniel is a vital member of the team. they all are. dude was battling major hair condition while having people call him useless all the time? and they still do. all over sns and youtube. i do have a skewed perception but at the same time i feel like being needlessly critical isn't the move

the clones were essentially slaves and the jedi allowed it. they are in fault for accepting the army in the first place; and for those who think this is a hard pill to swallow; apathy by not calling out they were slaves. i really think this shows the corruption in both the republic and the order itself but most people defend the jedi for some reason. the jedi weren’t the only victims of order 66; the clones who got their free will overridden were somehow always out of the question. having a inhibitor chip that somehow can control your actions is a scary dystopian-ic sort of concept.

and yet, the clones had to go through this but no one acknowledges that because they don’t want to blame the jedi for accepting what essentially is a slave army 🤷

yeah i have a lot of feelings

I think we live in age where being fan means refusing to acknowledge we don’t like. sure, fandoms are supposed to be fun so it’s normal for us to want to engage only with the parts that make us happy. However, I’ve been noticing with growing concern a new trend where only the parts we want to engage are welcomed as valid fandom community.

The Jedi Order is prime example of this. We have fans who love them, fans who hate them and fans who enjoy them in parts. All are fans, all are valids. But I’ve noticed that, tumblr at least, is no longer a safe place for fans who want to discuss topics that ‘jedi stans’ find unflattering.

Not to sound all fandom-elder but back in my day when someone said something like ‘I think the Jedi did something wrong’ someone would disagree and life would go one. now it seems people who want to talk about anything beyond the ‘I love this and everything about is perfect’ mentality is considered a fandom-terrorist. Someone who is actively ‘ruining’ the fandom experience for everyone else, even if said ‘hater’ is not engaging with anything, even if they are simply posting their opinion on their own blog. Considering we are talking about a platform where performative wokeness is the norm, it’s not all that surprising that people will resort to self-victimization when arguments fails them.

What any of this has to with do with clone slavery? Everything! Because that’s a sour topic in this fandom. it’s amazing how something so painfully obvious – slavery is *always* wrong – became such controversial topic. It says a lot about the overall mentality of the fandom when people argue pro-slavery because the opposite would mean their fave character did something morally wrong.

Again, when wokeness is perfomative something as innocent as enjoying a fictional character can put a crack in the image you’re trying to sell. If you’re a victim of cruel, abusive fandom that is ‘ruining everything’ for you, of course everything you consume must be pristine as your image. On top of that, if the fans (who disagree with you) are inherently evil and wrong, you don’t have to spend as much time and energy arguing their points. You can just say they are bad people and get some sympathy points.

To make matter worse, after the ‘stan culture’, we also have to deal with racism and sexism. If you pay attention to the argument defending clone enslavement and the role everyone played in it, you’ll notice the issue is not so much that people don’t care about slavery and murder. They simply don’t care about the enslavement and murder of anyone who isn’t a (white) favorite.

For everyone fan saying Anakin was wrong in killing innocent tusken children, there’re at least 3 fans saying they deserved it because they were savages who needed to pay for their parents crimes (or that killing them made the people safer). However, these same fans will relentlessly argue that Anakin killing that cute little boy in ROTS is one of the most vile crimes put on screen because he was such innocent, pure little boy.

The same goes for the clones. Anakin and Obi-wan being enslaved for a few days was traumatizing, cruel, vile, etc; the clones being enslaved for years and used as cannon fodder is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  (the main point being that everyone, including the jedi, did everything they could to save the clones…and by everything they could, they usually mean nothing at all)

More recently, we have the clone wars finale. A heartbreaking hour of tv made to illustrate how cruel and unfair the war was *for the clones* and yet the main complaint was the show not taking its time to show the real victims of Order 66 (the jedi). We had a whole blockbuster, full-length movie illustrating the tragic end of the Jedi Order but people were still pissed Filoni dedicated an hour to show the clones were victims too.

To be honest, I’m done arguing this because experience has told me people aren’t interesting in talking about the issue, they just want their faves to look good. They don’t really care about the clones beyond their relationship with the beloved Jedi (Obi-wan’s men, Anakin’s men, Plo Koon’s men…they are never viewed as their own men, men who should be allowed a choice to exist beyond the role forced – and enforced – upon then).

I’ve said this a countless time before and I’ll say it again, there’s no justification for slavery. No righteous course action beyond doing everything in your power to stop it, and if you don’t have any power to act by yourself it’s your moral (and legal) duty to make sure people with power act on your behalf. If you’re not a legal enforces, you can still make sure you vote for the right leaders, protest, write letters, contact the government, go on strike, protests, etc. sitting on your ass because ‘there was not nothing you could do’ is not a valid (or even accurate) option when it comes to the enslavement of human beings. And, imo, it’s fucking sad this even needs to be said.

The clones, the children and everyone else enslaved in the GFFA deserved better, deserved someone willing to help them, deserved more than empty words and gestures. And that’s a hill I’m more than ready to die on.
