During my Tumblr radio silence I was working on my part for @pizza-tower-jekyll-and-hyde-au ‘s MAP! Considering how I haven’t animated in ages, or animated a human in general, this was a fun challenge and I enjoyed every second of it! I regret not saving the time I spent on this, but it was like four and a half days lol. Anyways enjoy! And check out the MAP, as there’s still some unclaimed spots.
P.S. Sometimes Tumblr steals the video’s quality for no reason. I’d recommend refreshing or watching on YouTube if it looks blurry!

the world's best tour guide
peter parker x fem!reader/stark!reader
word count: 2.6k
tw: none
a/n: made this longer to make up for the last one but then i went so far i didn't know how to end it lol hope its still readable because i don't think so :') enjoy ALSO HOCO PETER CALLBACK BC I MISS WATCHING THAT MOVIE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MIDDLE SCHOOL OH GOOOOOOOOD
“There needs to be somebody else with me!” Your father exclaimed.
“Oh, well maybe you should’ve thought of that before making this fraudulent internship?”
“It’s… real. It’s real to me.” Your father gazes at you longingly.
“Soooo people are supposed to believe I have to work my way up through this internship despite the fact that we share a last name and address?” You look up from your laptop for the first time during this conversation.
“There’s celebrities out there that don’t give their children even a penny, you’re lucky.” Tony shrugs, popping a grape in his mouth.
"Plus, it makes perfect sense! You're a little builder like me aren't you?" He says in between chews.
“Those are mine,” You snag the bowl back to your side of the kitchen island. “and I’m adopted!” You shove two grapes in your mouth to one-up him. “Do you know how effed up you would be to cut off my only source of income when I’m adopted?!” You were muffled by the grapes in your mouth.
“Don’t curse.”
“I said eff I didn’t say fuck.”
“DON’T CURSE.” Tony warned.
“Ugh, where’s mom? I wanna complain about you.” You groaned, taking yourself and your laptop upstairs.
“Leaving at 11:30!” Tony shouted through the stairs.
You waved him off, rushing to your room. You continued working on your computational model simulated lab that Bruce designed for you to play around with.
“Bam.” You say to yourself as you let the 3D models crash into eachother.
“Knock knock.” Your mom says quietly.
“Mom, don't say knock knock. Just knock on the door.”
“Honey, let’s get off the computer for a second.”
Pepper closes your laptop gently. “Just go with your father hon. He’s just using this as an excuse. He wants you to work with him more he loves you.” She crouches down at your eye level, taking your hand.
“Everybody knows how smart you are, they want to work with you. Okay? Okay. Great, get dressed.”
“It's not that I don't want to go, it's the fact that I'm probably not allowed to touch anything fun or follow dad anywhere cool. Also your pep talks are getting shorter and shorter.” You huffed.
“I’m hungry. I want lunch. Maybe your dad should’ve waited for me to make my toast before asking me to come up here.” Pepper takes one last look before leaving the room. “Be ready in 5 minutes.”
You begrudgingly come downstairs.
“You look great honey.” Tony clasps his hands together.
“I didn’t even change.” You said flatly.
“…Okay. In the car.”
Pepper gives you a look with many meanings behind it. If you had to guess, her expression meant “Be nice”, “He’s trying his best”, and “Shut up don’t complain”.
You give your mom a half-hearted thumbs up before leaving.
After a little while of driving, Happy comes to an abrupt stop.
“Dude what the-” Your phone dropped to the bottom of Happy’s seat in the process.
“Here’s the kid.” Tony says, trying to hide his smile. It was evident even from the backseat.
A boy with a linty hoodie and a beaten down bag waved to the car, a matching grin plastered on his face after he realized who was inside.
“Mr. Stark!” He exclaimed.
Your dad gets out of the car, exchanging words with the boy.
Tony opens his door. “Yeah go sit back there. Now, I trust you know not to bother my daughter.”
As if on cue, Peter opens the door to see you with intimidation in his eyes.
“Hi.”
“H-Hi.” Peter sits in his seat stiffly. He extends a hand and reels it back realizing what your dad had just said.
“He’s just kidding.” You shake your head, chuckling. “…I’m allowed to greet people.”
Peter swallows a lump in his throat. “Right. Of course. I’m just not sure if I can greet people.” He wipes his sweaty hand on his sleeve before extending it out again.
“Peter.” He looks up with a shy smile.
“Y/N.” You nod, shaking his hand.
“I saw you on youtube. The robot you built? The one that could project a hologram five times its size? So cool.” He gushes.
You smile shyly, having to look away from embarrassment.
“I’ve seen you on youtube too.” You grin subtly.
"...Oh god. I was only ten, my solar system was supposed to orbit around slowly. I used paperweights instead of styrofoam balls and the battery I used was high powered, they weren't supposed to fly out like that. I even paid for the school's camera with my Christmas money-"
"Uh- no.. I meant like the spider thing?"
Dumbfounded, Peter looks over to Tony through the rear view mirror. Tony meets his eyes and gives him a wink.
"Oh... I didn't know you knew about that." Peter sinks into his seat.
"Don't be embarrassed. I think it's cool." You smiled.
Peter unconsciously smiles back at you. "Thanks.. I…try." Peter cringes at his attempt to reply to you normally.
You lessen the distance between you and him and look at him fascinated.
"How do you swing around? Lab-made fibers? It looks.. almost organic."
Peter tries not to flinch and holds his breath. He should've brought his breath mints. What if his breath stinks? He ate a string cheese before he left the apartment.
"I-I uh- I make them myself. It's web fluid. When it flys out of my web shooters, it solidifies into that flexible, strong stuff." He pulls up his sleeve to show you.
"Woah, how many cartridges do you need?" You run your fingers along the band around his wrist, staring curiously.
"They last a while, but I switch them out like every few weeks-"
"We're here." Happy yawns, taking the opportunity to stretch his arms.
"Thanks Hogan." You pat his shoulder from the backseat and get out of the car.
Peter blinked and all of the sudden, everyone filed out of the car. He frantically steps out, his eyes having a hard time adjusting to the sun.
"Here." You push him three inches to the side, bringing a shadow to shield the sun from his eyes. A really big shadow.
Peter can't help but let his mouth hang open.
"Just as flashy as I remember it dad." You said before stealing his sunglasses from his face and running to the doors.
"Hey, GENTLE! They're Dita! VINTAGE!" He shouts.
You giggled as you tried to frantically slide your keycard into the scanner that unlocked the doors.
"I'm gonna tell the receptionist they're a gift!" You yelled back before rushing inside.
This makes your dad quicken his pace, rummaging his pocket for his keycard.
Peter had never seen Tony like this before. There was someone who was alive, very real, and actually had authority over him. His child. Peter slowly catches up to Tony who's waving his credit card around the sensor.
"Sir.. I don't think that's the right card." He mumbled.
Tony looked down at his gold card, his brain short-circuiting for a moment.
After composing himself and taking out the correct card, Tony almost flung the door open, his eyes locked to you leaning over the front desk.
"Y/N!"
You turned around, the sunglasses nowhere to be found.
"Yeah?" You tilted your head innocently.
The receptionist takes this opportunity to go back to her typing after you finally stopped talking her ear off. She wasn't wearing them either.
Peter stood awkwardly behind Tony. He stared at the high ceiling and the enormous fish tank that stretched across the wall with fish he had a hard time telling if they were real.
"Gotcha." You reveal the sunglasses behind your back, handing them back to your father.
"Not my style.. Also probably not her's either. Right, Erin?"
The receptionist only shoots you a glance, her fingers never stop clacking on the keyboard.
"Kid, this way." Tony sighed, gesturing Peter and following you to an elevator.
Peter shyly makes his way to the corner of the elevator and staring at the array of buttons. He's never been in a building with over five floors, let alone a hundred.
"So... What are we doing exactly?" You asked your father.
"I thought I'd give the kid a tour." Tony says while he scrolls through his phone.
Peter fiddles with his hoodie's strings, unable to make eye contact as he's being mentioned.
"Oh." Tony stops.
"What?" You asked warily.
"I need to approve something. Something either dumb and obvious or an array of important decisions." Tony looks through his missed calls and rings a number.
"Tour my ass." You mumbled.
If superheroes do anything, they double book. Constantly.
The elevator dings and you and Peter file out. You turn around and Tony doesn't step off.
"You've been promoted to tour guide. Okay bye." Tony closes the elevator doors and you watch him descend to a lower floor.
"I went from being a child of nepotism to a tour guide? I don't consider that a promotion."
Peter was visibly dumbfounded. He was intimidated by Tony by some degree yes, but he already knew him. He's never been to the tower, and now he's alone with his child that could make or break his reputation here.
"...Dude?" You wave your hand over his face. From your perspective, ever since your dad went downstairs, Peter had been blankly staring at the floor.
"Hm?" Peter's eyes didn't leave the floor.
"Wanna meet Dr. Banner?" You smiled. It reminded Peter of a cat that knew it was doing the wrong thing.
Something about your expression told Peter you wanted to bother Bruce more than you wanted to introduce Peter to him.
After a string of trailing after you in hallways that looked like they were from the future, you slid open the keypad, and rapidly drew a complex pattern into it.
"Hey Dr. B."
"Woah." Peter's eyes wander throughout Bruce's lab. Holograms fill a lot of empty space.
"Hey mini Stark, hand me that slide rack will you?"
You were all smiles. Peter could see you were finally in your element.
"What are you doing now?" You peer over Bruce's shoulder.
"Not too close, unless you wanna put on a coat and some goggles." He says, eyes locked on the microscope.
You immediately run back to the doors, a nervous Peter Parker blocking the coat hanger.
"C'mon Peter." You enthusiastically put on a lab coat and fasten the glasses over your face. Without hesitation, you put another pair on Peter's face and throw him a coat.
You grab him by the sleeve just as he put on the coat and run back to Bruce.
"Dr. Banner, this is Peter." You smiled.
Bruce looks up from his microscope and gives a small wave.
"From what I've seen, I think he might be one of us." You chuckled.
"...And maybe one of you guys." You give Peter a teasing smile.
Peter let out a small and odd noise before clearing his throat.
"Dr. Banner, I'm a huge fan." Peter gushes.
"Hey, show him your webs." You pull his sleeve back.
Bruce’s eyes studied the webshooters.
"He's the spider guy." You say proudly.
Peter tries not to shake uncontrollably from a mix of embarrassment and excitement.
"Oh.. You made these?" Bruce blinks curiously.
Peter nods and tries to conceal his growing smile.
“He’s one of you guys. I told you.” You wink at Peter, only for him to see.
“That’s… how? How did you make these?” Bruce chuckled in disbelief.
“Can I borrow your whiteboard?” Peter asks.
After writing down the entire formula for the polymer he used for his webs, Peter finally slouches over. His work takes up a majority of the board.
Bruce stares in awe of Peter’s creation.
“Basically this is it.” Peter scratches the back of his neck.
“Visit any time kid.” Bruce chuckled, speechless. He gives Peter a pat on the shoulder.
“How about a snack?” You asked Peter.
“If you’re gonna pass this little audition with my dad, you should probably know where the kitchen is.” You sighed, pulling the goggles off your face.
“Are you sure you’re not just hungry?” Peter asks.
“Oh, I finally got the boy to let his guard down? Telling jokes now huh?” You laughed.
Peter shakes his head, smiling to the floor.
“I just met Bruce Banner.”
“Mhm.” You trail down a long hallway, to a shiny pair of doors that stretched from the floor to the ceiling. The kind of doors Peter would visualize any person having a hard time opening.
Behind the doors was a kitchen area bigger than the living room of his apartment. The marble top island was like his dining table.
“Take anything.” You said casually, fetching two spoons from a drawer.
Peter walks in like he’s just attended his own surprise party. When he opened the pantry he didn’t expect a wall of snacks.
“I like these.” Peter points to the bag of mini reese’s cups.
“Then bring the bag dummy.” You snorted and opened the freezer.
“How about some ice cream?”
Peter and you somehow moved all your snacks to the balcony and you started tearing away at them almost immediately.
“You brought a lot.” Peter unwraps a peanut butter cup while you sink your spoon into your coffee ice cream.
“What are you hinting at man?” You give him a glare.
“NO! God, no I meant I don’t want to eat all this food, it’s- it’s not mine I’m sorry I didn’t mean it like that.” By the end of Peter’s sentence he pops the candy in his mouth, defeated.
“I’m messing with you. Dig in. Seriously though Cap is on a new diet he found on this dumb blog. I never should’ve gave him an iPad for Christmas.” You rolled you eyes.
“It’s mostly my snacks now. Sometimes Natasha eats with me when I bother her enough.”
“Cap? Cap as in?” Peter knew the answer but needed a confirmation. There was no way he could be convinced he’s in the very building where all these heroes roam around.
“Captain America.”
“And Nat?”
“Oh, Black Widow.” You say in a sultry voice.
“That’s my lady. We watch dumb movies when I come around here.” You added.
“That’s.. wow. You see them often?” Peter takes a spoon and digs into the ice cream too.
“I guess.” You shrugged.
“Just so you know, they’re all lame like me. Not as cool as you think.” You grinned at the memories you had of them hanging around.
Peter shook his head.
“You’re not lame. You’re cool. I don’t think anyone else can mess with Tony Stark like you can.” Peter chuckled.
You look down and take another scoop of ice cream.
“…Not that he’s the only reason why you’re cool. You’re so smart and really funny.” And really pretty. But he wasn’t going to say that.
“Thanks. You’re pretty cool too.”
Peter let out a dry laugh.
“No. I’m not. You should see me at school seriously. It varies from being invisible to being a-”
“Don’t call yourself a loser or a nerd before I do a flip off this balcony.” You groaned.
“Besides, what’s a nerd if not a person in the wrong environment?” You give him a nudge.
“This is an environment where nerds thrive… And the occasional superhuman.” You added.
“Then why aren’t you getting recruited possibly, like I am?” Peter asked.
“My parents won’t ever let that happen.” You sighed, opening a bag of spicy chips.
“Maybe in the future, I’ll be one of these guys, we’ll be older, and we can convince your parents.” He said.
“You’re so innocent.” You laughed. “But yeah. If you somehow land a spot here, you have to help me get in too.”
Peter held out his pinky.
“..What are you doing?” You raised an eyebrow.
“I…pinky promise.” Peter held a stern expression. For the world’s best tour guide, he was willing to keep his word.
“Okay, swear?” You held out your pinky.
“Swear.”

HI BABYSHYZX:))))😚I have a request🫶🏻but beforeeee I tell you, I hope you've been taking care of yourself, getting enough rest, eating well, trying to stay healthy etccccc🩷. Okay soo, straykids' reaction to you walking around your apartment half naked, and they got home early🤠? Keep in mind, you don't have to write if you're not comfortable with the topic or for whatever other reason😽, if you do though, Thank youu. I love youuddhuxxhx<333
stray kids' reaction to finding their s/o walking around the apartment half-naked for the first time
genre: general, crack, fluff
warnings: mentions of partial nudity, not proofread
please like and reblog if you enjoy <;3
bangchan
will literally look at you like 👀 and go 'oooOooooo' but tries not to embarrasses you too much. obviously he will tease you but not really to a big extent, because otherwise he would be a hypocrite. he literally walks around half naked whenever he gets the chance much to his roommates dismay so really, who is he to judge?
minho
there is a heavy silence in which he just blinks repetitively, in his usual perplexed manner. then he will hum and shrug, carrying on with whatever he is doing. inside he's probably freaking out, just a little bit. but outside he's got the same, nonchalant expression on his face, perhaps to make you feel more at ease than himself.
changbin
not a very big deal to him at all. there's nothing he hasn't seen before, hehe. he views it like... if you were at the beach, this wouldn't be an issue. but still, if, when you do see him come in, feel a little uncomfy about him being there while your in that state for whatever reason, he will get out of the room and make you something to eat or something. no biggy!
hyunjin
will make a dramatic scene about it. will most definitely scream at the top of his lungs like he has seen a ghost which deeply offends you, so he earns a tremendously slap on the arm which makes him lmeven louder and more dramatic about it ugh idk he's a whole mess. probably yells "my eyes!" like a cartoon character and covers is eyes with his fists. so supportive 🙄
jisung
his mouth is to the floor before he let's out a momentary awkward chuckle and adverts his gaze. tries to distract himself but let's face it, all he really wants to do is touch and be near you, as always. that's all he ever wants to do, to be honest, fully clothed or not. will melt if you instigate any affection towards him like this <3333 he's just down bad so have fun with that.
felix
he's super respectful. when he sees you in such a state, he covers his eyes with one hand or adverts his gaze, removing himself from the situation immediately. he's a little angel, can you expect anything less of him? he will mentally scold himself for not being more cautious and aware beforehand, feeling bad for making things potentially awkward.
seungmin
indifferent. on the out side, at least. he's as cool as a cucumber, but the moment you tell him to leave and stop observing you this was, he goes to the bathroom and let's out a huge breath. yeah he's panicking. not sure how to move or act or speak or feel. all over the place. but comes out of the bathroom like he hasn't given himself a 15 minute pep talk about the whole thing.
jeongin
the moment he sees you half naked, his whole earth shatters like damn why did he have to see you like this because now all he is thinking about is where and where not to look. wants to be as respectful as possible so just sort of stares at every inanimate object possible until you tell him it's okay to look.

Enemies to lovers Adam x f!reader?
Enemies to Lovers
Adam X Reader
A/N: I shed blood, sweat and tears making this. SORRY IF ITS OOC this is my first real fic Adam is a PAIN to write.
You were never really able to get along with Adam. From the moment Adam arrived in heaven, the two of you were always at each other's throats.
Adam would always pick fights over the smallest things, and it was always enough to make you bite back. There wasn't a single day that he couldn't get under your skin and make fun of you. Calling you names, competing with you, and just being a general pain in your ass.
Today was the day of the first-second extermination of the year.
Adam was off giving his soldiers a 'pep talk', but before he flew off to this hazbin hotel, he came to you first.
As always, he made sure to get his daily insults in before he left, tearing into you with his words, ensuring you knew just how inferior and pathetic he deemed you. His snarky and playful tone only served to aggravate you further. Finally, unable to bear it any longer, you snapped back, 'Oh, shut up! I hope you never return, Adam!' His initial shock quickly gave way to a smug grin. 'Calm your pretty little head, babe,' he retorted, his arrogance undeterred as he continued to prattle on about himself."
You weren't even listening; His annoying voice was easy to block out.
“plus I know you’ll miss me, I fuckin’ rock, I’m THE Adam” he pointed to himself keeping that stupid shit eating smile he always had, god you wanted to punch him so bad but couldn't, as you feared you would get sent to hell so you slammed the door in his face instead.
Later that night, you were sitting on your heavenly comfy couch, enjoying the latest episodes of your favorite shows. You were just about to fall asleep when a frantic knock jolted you from the cushions. With a tinge of fear, you approached the door, thinking, 'This is heaven; this couldn’t be bad, right?' As you opened the door and peeked out, you were shocked to see Adam, but he was far from his usual self. Covered in golden blood and bearing multiple stab wounds, he looked as though he had been through hell. (Lol) Without hesitation, you flung the door open, calling out, 'Adam!' before he collapsed on your doorstep.
It had been a while since you found Adam. Earlier, you had managed to drag him to your couch. As you attempted to patch him up, you discovered several more wounds scattered across his body. Shocked by the extent of his injuries, you couldn't help but wonder who could have inflicted such damage.
hours have passed since the surprise at your doorstep. You had fallen asleep on the floor beside him. When you woke up, he had yet to awaken, Panic gripped your heart as you reached out to shake him gently, wondering if he had actually died in his sleep. (double dead) You placed your finger beneath his nose, relieved to feel the subtle rise and fall of his breath. 'Why do I even care so much...' you pondered, a mix of emotions swirling within you.
More hours had passed, and as you were making lunch for yourself, you heard him make a sound. Turning around, you saw that he had finally woken up. “What the fuck am I doing here?” was the first thing that came out of his mouth. “You came to me, Adam. You're hurt.” Upon hearing your words, he winced and attempted to sit up, but a wave of pain washed over him, causing him to groan. Reacting quickly, you rushed to his side, gently placing a hand on his shoulder to ease him back down. 'Lay down, Adam,' you said softly, concern evident in your voice. “You're going to make it worse if you push yourself too hard.” Adam groaned with displeasure as you stood up and started walking back to the kitchen. However, something he said made you stop in your tracks.
“Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?” You froze in surprise. 'What?' Slowly, you turned to him, a shocked expression on your face. “Excuse me? How hard did you hit your head?”
You stood there in silence as he just stared at you “… I’m just fucking with you… dumb b-bitch…” he looked away in embarrassment, you stared at him with a shocked look ‘doesn’t sound like was a joke..’
“I can do it myself!” He argued.
"If you move, you'll probably explode or die. Stop it!" You were trying your best to care for him these past few days, but he's just such a pain in the ass. Currently, you were trying to feed him, but he kept turning his head away, stubborn as ever. Fed up with his behavior and the frustration boiling inside you, you finally snapped. With determination, you grabbed hold of his head, locking eyes with him. "Just eat it, damn it!" you exclaimed, frustration evident in your voice as you forcefully shoved the spoon into his mouth. Finally, he relented and ate it, although begrudgingly.
“I’d rather you shove your-“
“Shut the fuck up”
“Moody Bitch…”
You scoffed at his remarks, striding over to him and motioning for him to sit up, to which he obliges. "Take your shirt off," you instruct. He smirks in response. "Don't give me that look; you know what I mean." His smirk fades into annoyance as he complies with your request. Gently removing his bandages required getting close, and you carefully unwrap them before swiftly replacing them with fresh ones, wrapping them around his body with precision and care.
"You look really pretty down there" he grins at you, his eyes sparkling with admiration. You blush in response, feeling a warm flush creeping up your cheeks, unsure of how to respond to the unexpected compliment.
Wanna know a secret?" He said, catching your attention. You looked at him with a confused expression, but slowly nodded, curiosity piqued.
"you know I live alone right now? No one's going to—" Your words were cut off as you felt his hand grasp your face, Before you could react, his lips met yours in a sudden, electrifying kiss, sending a rush of warmth through your body.
Adam pulled away, leaving you stunned and bewildered by the sudden rush of conflicting emotions.
"You make it so damn difficult to hate you," he confessed, his voice tinged with frustration and a hint of something deeper, something you couldn't quite decipher. As you stood there, grappling with the unexpected confession, you realized that perhaps there was more to your relationship than just rivalry. With a mixture of uncertainty and expanding hope, you met his gaze, silently acknowledging the unspoken possibility of a new beginning between two former enemies turned potential lovers.
This was so hard goodbye. It’s so OOC I’m soo sorry I tried to rush the end to put this out faster 😭

Episodes and story predictions (spoilers!)
My restless brain has been on another quest.
Full theory explanation and lots of plot side-notes included below, but the short of it - I think the episodes order is going to be something like this (including previous ones for completion):
Ep. 1 - Westview: Agnes of Westview Ep. 2 - Westview: Setting up the journey Ep. 3 - The Road: Water trial - Jen (blue road) Ep. 4 - The Road: Fire trial - Alice (orange road) Ep. 5 - The Road: Spirit trial - Agatha (purple road) Ep. 6 - Westview: Teen backstory Ep. 7 - The Road: Air trial - Lilia (yellow road) Ep. 8 - The Road: Earth trial - Rio (green road) Ep. 9 - The Grand Finale (Agatha all Alone?)
BACKGROUND ON THE SYMBOLISM First of all, thank you to the production team for their incredible attention to detail. It is clear they have done a lot of research and put a lot of thought into symbolism and telling the story from the visual point of view. This is what makes theorising so much fun!
The whole show seems to revolve around the Wicca religion (also known as "The Craft" - I see you Teen!) that uses the pentacle (5-pointed star inside a circle) and typically worships Triple Moon aka Triple Goddess aka Hekate (Maiden, Mother, Crone) and Horned God (could be Marvel Mephisto). The magic circle uses 5 elements - Fire, Water, Earth, Air and Spirit. Together they are believed to be the root of all matter. Each element has a set of values associated with them, often also colours. While the colours are not always coded in the same way, I found that this (totally Agatha-unrelated) graphic below fits so well with the show's imagery.
The moon phases also play a big role in here. There are 8 lunar stages, but only 5 elements, so it will be interesting to see how the show continues to link these two strands (so far we've had Full moon for Water trial and Waxing for Fire). Moon phases are also linked with the stages of life - I won't go into full analysis but check out @shutupineedtothink post who beautifully explained possible connections with our witches.
I only wonder whether the full moon in the first trial was maybe mistaken and it was New moon instead? So that we are just moving through the first 5 phases of the moon? After all, it was Teen who identified it - although he was correct about it being the Water phase.
Episode 3: Water Trial - Jen - Blue - Full Moon Colour: we already saw that as the events unfolded, the light took on the blue tint, because of the water outside. Jen's own nightmare was all in blue. And the road (leaves, roots, mushrooms) leading to the trial was all blue. Story: Jen being associated with Water elements makes sense. Healing, Expression, Peace and Compassion fit really well with her role as a midwife and influencer (did you all realise that it was the midwife work that Agatha referred to when she explained why she spared Jen and her powers because it was "good work that matters" - a nod to Agatha appreciating maternal values). I don't think we will see much more of Jen's backstory - at least not as a dedicated episode, but only through bits of conversations like by the campfire. It feels like Jen's struggles were to do with a mental block and I think Agatha's pep talk was the one that made Jen realise her real power and, though she might not realise it yet, she might be regaining her magic as she starts believing in herself again. Plus I like the idea of not giving an evil man too much of a screen time because it's not his story. Trial exit: oven... so into the fire (as next trial)
Episode 4: Fire Trial - Alice - Orange- Waxing Moon Colour: red/orange tints were so much more obvious in this trial and the road to trial was orange. Even Alice's hair have some red/orange streaks. And her nightmare in ep.3 had some orange tint to it. Story: Alice also fits so well with the fire element values. Passion, Inspiration, Intuition, Creation, Protection - all of these align with her role as an ex-cop, but also her emotional journey as she thinks herself responsible for everything. Then there is the nod to creation when she overcomes the curse with the aid of a song. She is also (except for Teen) the youngest of them all (Maiden). When she was playing, there were flickers of orange magic between her fingers. So I think she's had magical powers all along but just didn't know about it, because she didn't believe in it. Her Road wish was to break the curse, not to get powers. Trial exit: piano... so into the soul (as next trial)?
Episode 5: Spirit Trial - Agatha - Purple - Half Moon? Colour: post-fire trial the road is purple - the leaves as well as fluorescent mushrooms etc. The scenes look dark and it's hard to see if they have purple tint. Agatha's nightmare in ep.3 was very dark too though. Story: This is the 80s sleep over episode (judging from the episode 5 font). Spirit values are the Soul, the Devine, the Mystery. While it's true these kind of also remind me of Rio, I think it's fair to say that Agatha is a total mystery, with all those many layers and masks that she wears. She is also the soul of the coven and the guide of the trials so far. She might have lied and not have walked the Road before (although I begin to change my mind on that), but she definitely leads the coven. It was her pep talk who guided Jen to the solution. And it was her who figured out Lorna's protection spell and guided Alice to play the song. As the ballad says "(...) we carry on, Spirit as our guide" (for a long time I thought it would be the spirit of the dead guiding them). So in this episode we see Agatha's spirit becoming possessed. So the Road is not just testing Agatha, but the whole coven - see how they manage when their Spirit is not available to guide them - and I don't think it ends well. I believe this is the episode where Alice realises she has magical powers. But because she doesn't know how to use them yet, we might lose her. Peppered across the promos, we see images of Alice wielding her orange power - once inside the sleepover room and once when she's on a broomstick. We also get to see Agatha absorbing someone's power while wearing her 80s jersey. We also see at some point Agatha has a whisper of red/orange magic in her palm. My theory is that although the trial is Agatha's, Rio will play a significant role. After all, they are going to have ouija board that will spell "Death" was in the room with them. And one of the posters for the episode was Rio. Agatha will become possessed and everyone acts scared, and it will be Rio who talks Agatha down. I hope we will get some soft moments between them and that we see some flashbacks of their story to give it more meaning. But then maybe Agatha needs magic to return her soul. Rio can't give it to her (I wonder if they explain to the witches why), so Alice blasts possessed Agatha instead. She absorbs the magic and returns to normal. They exit the trial on broomsticks. However, I think as they are flying away, they get attacked by Salem Seven. This is where Alice tries to use her magic again, but she might be exhausted or just inexperienced and she falls off the broomstick and we don't get to see what happens with her? This is why I think Lilia from the future tries to send her the message "Alice, don't try to save Agatha!" (but it gets split in two visions). I also think we finally get to see Teen using his blue power - maybe to help defend from the Salem Seven? Then leave us all on a cliff-hanger when the other witches realise this. (This would explain why he's poster is for that episode as well - and he's dressed as Billy Maximoff Halloween costume - the Wiccan). The red moon silhouette shows only 4 witches in clear view - I think they are, from right to left: Agatha, Rio, Jen and Alice. In the far left, in the dark, it looks like Lilia is there as well. So maybe Salem Seven kidnapped Teen because he protected Agatha with his magic, and now the witches are chasing them? I think Lilia somehow ends up left behind (I'll explain in later episode).
Exit: On broomsticks - into the Air (next trial)?
Episode 6: Westview - Teen story The episode list has this one circled in red, so I wonder if it's the "odd one out". Maybe we don't get to follow the Witches on the Road, but see flashback to Teen's backstory, following his blue magic cliff-hanger from the last episode? Maybe we see his family car crash mentioned in episode 1. We see that his parents (the two "perps") maybe don't die, thanks to the air bags, but are in a coma? That's why Teen says he's 100% certain his parents are asleep (or he talks about Wanda and Vision who tucked the boys in their beds right before the end of the Hex). I wonder if the body that Agnes investigates in the woods isn't Wanda or Darkhold, as everyone thinks, but Rebecca Kaplan - Billy's mom. Anyway, Billy Kaplan is at the back of the car and dies. But then two things happen - Death appears (Rio) to collect him, but Billy Maximoff reincarnates into the body and he lives. Hence the "Near death in Westview" hint for Joe Locke's end episode credits. Rio is intrigued and sticks around, maybe finally finds Agatha who is no longer able to hide from her because she has no Darkhold. I think Billy will try to summon the Witches Road by himself - maybe he wants to find his brother Tommy, maybe he wants to bring back Wanda and Vision, or maybe he wants to get back his Kaplan parents? I hope we get introduced to the final character that's missing from the end credits!
Episode 7 - Air trial - Lilia - Yellow - Waning Moon? Colour: Lilia's nightmare in ep.3 had distinct yellow tint. We also see lots of promo material of scenes with very heavy yellow filters. Even the road is yellow-ish at some point. Story: Air values are Intuition, Knowledge, Renewal, Change - this fits well with Lilia's divination abilities, as well with her age. We know she is the oldest witch in the coven and has lived for some 450 years, through many tragedies and the many ways the women were persecuted. Lilia is also always so vocal about the negative stereotypes that surround witches - she mentions green skin, broomsticks, talking to goats. Episode 5 might already give us the broomsticks and in this trial we will actually see Agatha as the green-skinned Wicked Witch of the West, so maybe we will also have a nod to the goat talking bit? That would be funny! Anyway, in this episode we see that Lilia will be Glinda (the Good witch), Agatha will be Elphaba (the Wicked witch) and Jen looks like the Evil Queen from the Snow White, but in her old hag form. And even the "yellow" road would be a callback to the Wizard of Oz. So I think the trial will be about those negative stereotypes and how witches have been perceived. We know Lilia doesn't like having to predict all those tragedies and feels deeply for all the victims. So what if her tarot trial will be about her trying to predict something good because it's something she was never able to do? Or maybe about her trying to use her powers to manipulate the cards to change the prediction into a good outcome? Or - trying to reverse a tragedy that happened in the past. It's interesting that the card she holds in the promo poster is The Tower. The card stands for "sudden, disruptive revelation" - kind of like Lilia's 'blips', and the trial seems in a tower-like room. There will be swords sticking out of the ceiling, threatening to fall down. We also know Salem Seven make their appearance again. So I think Lilia tarot reading will be about sending all those messages to the coven in the past (check my other post to explain the detail) and to send herself the list of the witches name so she writes them down for Agatha. When she succeeds, the timer (sand glass) gets turn upside down, and everyone in the room gets inverted as well - so they are flying in the air? That could mean that the Salem Seven gets impaled on the swords... but eek, I hope Lilia doesn't share the same fate... I didn't see any other characters in the air though. There is also a rumour that we will get another version of the Witches Road ballad - this time focusing on Lilia, so we will hopefully see them using Patti's full potential.
Back to the rest of the coven... I think after the broomstick flight they get separated. Lilia gets to the tower/castle first as she was left behind. That's why we see scenes with only Agatha, Teen and Jen on the Road (yellow filter) and they somehow circle back to the start, where Agatha falls over a pair of shoes they left at the beginning. Alice and Rio are not there - maybe because Alice died and Rio is taking her to the underworld. Or maybe they just separated, fingers crossed. We also see Agatha and Teen looking at a castle in the distance - that could be the castle that Lilia is in, so that's how they rejoin her.
Trial exit: the ground - so that next trial is earth?
Episode 8: Earth trial - Rio - Green - New Moon? Colour: green? There are a few scenes with dark green filter but not much else has been revealed Story: Earth values are Fertility, Wealth, Abundance, Strength and Wisdom. I hope we get to see how Rio is connected to that. The trial itself is the one where we see Agatha and Teen inside a morgue. This ties in well with both Earth and Death - lots of buried bodies! So sometimes I think maybe Rio isn't Lady Death after all, but her powers make her connected to the dead bodies, maybe to bring life? Agatha has her hands on Teen's head, so I wonder if she's trying to finally get rid of his sigil. They somehow pass the trial - which they believe to be the last one. Maybe the trial room gets flooded with soil at the end, and they climb their way through it - back up to the surface in Westview - maybe we will find out that everyone else who "died" on the Road has actually just climbed back to Westview. But maybe Agatha doesn't get out that way and still has to find the exit. At some point she gets angry because she still doesn't have her powers back even though she passed her Spirit trial (she screams "I want my prize!"). Maybe she realises it's the hair locket (or the symbol behind it) that stops her from regaining her powers and she needs to sacrifice it? Can't really deduce huge amount about this episode yet, other than we see Rio in her full chaotic self. She blows a kiss to someone as well (Agatha?). I think this is going to be a big episode, where Rio's true intentions are finally shown.
Episode 9 - The Grand Finale I draw blank on that one. I don't want to guess how they tie it all those strands together and how they show the impact of the Road on the witches lives. But there is that thought that keeps eating at me - in ep.1 Agnes says "If there is one thing we can agree on is that these cases are always about the place. The specific small town, the history of it, the secrets buried beneath it. That's where the answers lie." I think this is important and there is some big foreshadowing going on in there. Because yes exactly - why did Vision choose Westview of all places for their forever home? (Was it even Vision who chose it or was Wanda just made to believe that? The reason she knew about the plot was that someone dropped a file in her car) And after the events, the traumatised people still choose to live there. And Mrs Hart mentioned she would've expected to see "remnants of a failed public transit system" under Westview. I mean, would such a small town need it? I think there is something going on with Westview itself, maybe there will be a big reveal about this Mephisto at the end?
But that essay will be for another time. For now, I think I need to give my brain some rest. What does everyone think? Have I missed anything or are the elements that don't quite line up with the above theories? I would love to know! Thanks to getting this far!

han taesan ; end up here
maybe a tad angsty (taesan is an overthinker), fluff at end!, campus crush (he's literally in love with you), college au, reader is a baddie mhm yep yep
word count: 2.2k wtf
warnings: cursing, implied insecurity (taesan), alcohol usage, alcohol + weed mention, party setting, i'm literally so cliche but idgaf
this work is part of my boynextdoor as old 5sos songs series! ↳ if you want to listen to the song, here u go!
a/n: everyone rejoice... other members are mentioned >:D ok i lied. i tried to fit everyone in but it's mainly riwoo & leehan. and it felt wrong to find a way to include woonhak in a college party where there are Drugs and Alcohol buttttt hope u enjoy mwuwhuwhuh
likes ♡ and reblogs ↺ always appreciated!
taesan really didn’t want to go to this party, but riwoo and leehan had insisted it would be more fun than staying in his dorm room writing song lyrics the third weekend in a row. not that he doesn’t want to party, but he’d rather spend his time doing something he’s /actually/ interested in-- and right now, it doesn’t include making awkward small talk with strangers he will probably never see again in a sweaty led-lit room with mediocre music in the background.
“taesan… come on! i understand that you love making music, but don’t you think it’s time to come out with us? just this once?” riwoo pleads with him, tugging on the sleeve of his shirt. reluctantly, taesan spins around in his chair, turning to face his friend properly.
“ah, i knew i shouldn’t have turned around. it’s so much easier to say no to you when i’m not looking at your face. put those puppy eyes away, i’ll go change.” he gives in a bit easier than he initially intended to, unable to hide his smile at the way riwoo does a dance of celebration at his successful convincing.
leehan, currently leaning on the doorframe, chuckles at the sight. “i don’t think it’d be bad for you to go out with us from time to time,” he pushes his glasses up the bridge of his nose before continuing his thought, “maybe you’ll find some more song inspiration while we're out.”
taesan rolls his eyes and ushers the two out of his room, quickly changing into one of his favorite shirts and fixing his hair in the mirror. after grabbing a couple of accessories and checking himself out in the mirror one last time, the trio make their way to the house in question. it’s only a party, it shouldn't be too bad...
“wow, the weather’s perfect tonight.” leehan admires, hands in his pockets as they walk through campus, warmly lit by the streetlights scattered around. the crisp night air only seems to give taesan cold feet, as he feels the sudden urge to turn around and walk back to the laptop waiting for him in his dorm (despite being only a couple seconds away from their destination). almost expecting this to happen, riwoo stops in his tracks, causing taesan to bump into him.
riwoo crosses his arms, ready to give the best pep talk of his life. “i swear i can hear your thoughts. dude, don’t overthink this! it’s just another one of jaehyun’s parties, nothing crazy. we’re gonna have fun tonight!" riwoo frowns at taesan's doubtful expression. "leehan, help me out here.”
“i’m sure you’ll recognize at least half the people there. plus, you look cool.” leehan pats him on the back as a means of reassurance before putting his arm around taesan, practically dragging him through the door.
upon entering, taesan is immediately reminded of the last time his two friends convinced him to go out with them-- it reeked of cheap weed, the music absolutely sucked, and to top it all off, someone spilled their mystery drink (?) all over his shirt. never again, he told himself that night.
but here he was, red solo cup in hand as he followed his two friends around while they greeted various people around the room. taesan actually could not recognize anyone else except his classmates, sungho and jaehyun, who were sitting on the couch against the wall. the concoction in his cup was barely touched, disgustingly sweet because of the various juices in it, and alcohol too strong to enjoy it in the slightest. maybe he should’ve stayed home.
“you walked in, everyone was asking for your name / you just smiled and told them trouble”
“no way…is that y/n? y’know, i was convinced you’d never show up to one of my parties, but here you are!” jaehyun nearly jumps up from his place on the couch, hugging you at the entrance before shoving a cup full of who-knows-what into your hand. no way, indeed.
never did taesan think he would end up seeing his campus crush as close as he is now. this is crazy. he finds himself straightening his posture suddenly, even going as far as taking a big gulp of the drink in his hand, despite its unappealing taste. he'd noticed you early into the semester, finding you sitting with your friends out in one of the common areas outside his classes. he didn’t think much of it-- that is, until he kept seeing you. like, everywhere. he'd never admit it to himself, but he soon found himself looking forward to seeing you around. eventually, it got to the point where he started dressing a little nicer on the days he knew you’d be there, in hopes that you might notice him too.
“i think some of your friends are here already, y/n. oh, a few of my friends from class came too, you'll love them!” jaehyun encourages you to introduce yourself on the spot. while slightly flustered, you look around the room with a smile as you wave to the various people.
“shit, how many friends do you have?” you joke, taking a sip from your cup before properly introducing yourself to a room full of, well, strangers. “nice to meet you everyone, i’m y/n!” you do a little twirl, which earns a couple whistles from around the room. taesan swore he felt the room brighten up with your arrival. your presence felt like a breath of fresh air in a stuffy room full of people. he moves to take another gulp of his drink as the two of you lock eyes briefly, making him cough before he could properly swallow.
“y/n…who’s that? you know them?” leehan questions from next to him, pointing his cup in the direction of the front door. taesan only hums and shakes his head ‘no’ in response, his eyes glued to you as you dance along with the friends you’d just greeted.
“my head spins / i’m pressed against the wall just watching your every move / you’re way too cool / now you’re coming this way”
despite his sudden reluctance to drink when he first got there, taesan found himself with a freshly replenished cup planted in his hand as he leaned against the wall. the alcohol was starting to get to him; he could definitely feel the buzz with the way the room felt like it got a couple degrees hotter. or maybe it was just you being there that was making him warmer than he was ten minutes ago. he was vaguely listening to the conversation his classmates were having next to him, but his eyes always found their way back to you. he’s seeing you in a completely different light. normally, he’d be one to briefly admire from afar as he walked out of his lecture hall; now, you’re here.
and all of a sudden it’s a little too real, because what do you mean he gets to see you laugh and dance around with your friends…? you’re just supposed to be the campus crush he never gets the chance to make a move on. wait. this is his chance to make a move, isn’t it? oh god, what if he doesn’t get another opportunity like this to talk to you without looking like some weird dude who’s been looking at you across campus-
“how did we end up talking in the first place? / you said you liked my cobain shirt”
“cool shirt. kurt cobain, yeah?” oh shit. and now you’re in front of him. riwoo elbows taesan, which was his way of telling him ‘good luck.’ the action snaps him out of his thoughts, eyes widening ever so slightly before he clears his throat.
“yeah, it is. you know nirvana then?” he scratches the back of his head, noticing his friends moving their conversation away from the two of you out of his peripheral vision. he mentally curses them out, because now this conversation feels like he needs to make sure he doesn’t make a fool out of himself, and now there’s no one there to butt in and save him.
“obviously! you can’t say you know kurt cobain if you don’t know who nirvana is.” you beam at him as you finish the drink you were holding in your hand. his campus crush listens to one of his favorite artists, surely this isn’t real.
“taesan,” he blurts out, “i’m taesan, by the way. and you are..?” he waits for your response, as if your name wasn’t the only thing floating in his mind the second jaehyun welcomed you inside. (this is his attempt of being nonchalant btw)
“i’m y/n!” you look down at your empty cup briefly before looking around the room aimlessly. “do you want to get out of here?”
“what? you want to… leave?” with him? like this? now he’s almost sure this is some sort of prank or something. he’s taken aback at the bold request, clearly confused at what the hell is going on.
“it’s hot in here. and loud. you don’t want to step outside for a minute?” you placed your cup down on a random table, already making your way towards the door. you look at taesan, extending out your hand for him to grab so you can drag him through the crowd.
oh, you just want to get some fresh air. okay. that makes a lot more sense. he’s glad the lighting is so bad in there, as he’s almost certain his ears are red as he looks at your waiting hand. he mimics your actions, putting his cup down on the counter before finally placing his hand in yours and letting you lead the way.
“now we’re walking back to your place / you’re telling me how you love that song about living on a prayer”
the two of you sit side by side on the curb outside the house, slowly getting more used to each other as you go on about random topics-- first, it was music... then clothes... eventually turning into a never-ending stream of conversation topics neither of you wanted to put an end to. he’s in awe of the situation he’s currently in: you look so beautiful under the streetlights, and you keep laughing at his jokes, and maybe the weather really is perfect tonight, just as leehan said earlier.
...taesan doesn’t exactly know how he finds himself sitting on your living room floor, but he vaguely remembers you complaining about how your outfit was too uncomfortable and you desperately needed to change. he instinctively offers to walk you back to your apartment to get some comfier clothes on; you even offer him one of your bigger hoodies for him to change into. it was still a little small for his liking, but he accepts your kind gesture happily.
much to his satisfaction, the conversation never dies. hours pass as you two continue talking about anything and everything. the things you miss from your hometowns, embarrassing childhood stories, outrageous things you've witnessed at past parties you've been to-- and it all flows so naturally. taesan swears he is in love, because even though he was lucky enough to find a great group of friends at uni, he’d never clicked with someone like this so fast, let alone the person he's been crushing on for weeks now.
“my friends say i should lock you down / before you figure me out and you run away / but you don’t and you won’t / as you kiss me and you tell me that you’re here to stay”
taesan is disappointed when he wakes up. damn it, he knew it was a dream. he blinks a couple times before reaching for his phone on his nightstand, only to be met with… carpet? and you, his campus crush, the person he spent the entire night talking to until you both eventually fell asleep on the apartment floor next to each other, laying on the carpet two feet away from him. sitting up almost immediately, he covers his mouth in disbelief as he takes in the situation, desperately looking for where his phone is without making too much noise.
→ 6 missed texts from The Boyz groupchat! riwoo: taesanieeee did u go back to the dorm without telling us :( leehan: Wasn’t he talking to y/n? leehan: Check outside sungho: yeah, he’s still out there talking to them sungho: leave him be lmao jaehyun: actually? this isn’t really y/n’s type of crowd jaehyun: i’m surprised they haven’t gone home yet LOL keep up the good work taesan ;)
he puts his phone down on the floor, letting out a sigh as he places his head in his hands. oh god, and they’re already on him about this. he can’t help but let the last message jaehyun sent get to his head. not your crowd, huh? yeah, makes sense. after all, you shone so bright last night, it’s only reasonable for them to think that you probably wouldn’t get along with a guy who practically hugged the wall the whole time.
“he’s just trying to psych you out, you know.” you ran your hands through your hair as you stretch, taesan’s phone in hand. he shoots up immediately, in shock at the realization that you were awake and that you read the texts on his phone. “sorry for taking a peek at your groupchat, was just curious about what had you sulking so early in the morning.” you pass it back to him, his cheeks visibly flushed in embarrassment; the sunlight shining through the blinds only illuminating his current flustered state further.
“i wasn’t planning on coming to the party last night, by the way. i only showed up because he told me you’d be there. you think i haven’t noticed you around campus too?” you smile at him from your place on the floor, moving over to give him a peck on the cheek. he thinks it’s insane how charming you can get, even if you just woke up. “stop worrying so much-- i’m here to stay, taesan. only if you treat me to breakfast though.”
taesan doesn’t exactly know how he ended up here, but he was almost certain he'd found his new muse.

You were sitting inside of a diner across from Dean, munching on the last of your fries as he circled names in an obituary. Sam had gotten up to go to the bathroom, and you and Dean refused to speak to each other unless it was to start a petty fight.
The pretty blonde waitress returned, leaning over the table and showing off her boobs. “Can I get you anything else?” she asked Dean.
You looked over at him as he grinned around the pen he was chewing on.
You suppressed an eye roll, addressing Wendy. “Just the check, please.”
“Okay,” she smiled at you, glancing over at Dean once more. The waitress strutted away, and Dean dropped his head down before looking over at you.
“You know, (Y/N), we are allowed to have fun once in a while.” He pointed at the waitress as she walked into the kitchen, “That's fun.”
“You can have fun when we find your dad.”
Dean went to say something back to you, but Sam sat down and effectively cut the conversation short.
“Hey,” he said. “What’d I miss?”
“Just your brother trying to pick up our waitress,” you stated, glaring pointedly at Dean.
“Can it, (Y/N).” He put the newspaper in front of Sam. “Take a look at this, I think I got one. Lake Manitoc, Wisconsin.” He pointed to the obituary he had circled in the paper. “Last week Sophie Carlton, eighteen, walks into the lake, doesn't walk out. Authorities dragged the water; nothing. Sophie Carlton is the third Lake Manitoc drowning this year. None of the other bodies were found either. They had a funeral two days ago.”
“A funeral?” Sam questioned.
“Yeah, it's weird, they buried an empty coffin. For, uh, closure, or whatever,” the older of the two shrugged.
“Closure? What closure? People don't just disappear, Dean. Other people just stop looking for them.”
Dean’s expression hardened. He squared his shoulders and leaned forward on his forearms on the table. “Something you want to say to me?”
You took a sip of your drink, eyes widening as you looked down and to the side of you, feeling pretty awkward.
“The trail for Dad,” Sam started, “It's getting colder every day.”
Dean sighed. “Exactly. So what are we supposed to do?”
“I don't know. Something. Anything.”
“You know what? I'm sick of this attitude.” Dean’s tone was harsh as he spoke. “You don't think I wanna find Dad as much as you do?”
“Yeah, I know you do, it's just—”
Dean cut his younger brother off. “I'm the one that's been with him every single day for the past two years, while you've been off to college going to pep rallies. We will find Dad, but until then, we're gonna kill everything bad between here and there. Okay?”
Sam rolls his eyes, shaking his head as he did so.
The waitress walked past again, effectively distracting Dean from his anger toward Sam. His gaze was focused right on her ass.
You snapped your fingers a mere inch in front of his face.
He jerked back, furrowing his eyebrows at you. “What was that for?!”
“For focusing on getting your dick wet instead of the task at hand,” you replied.
Dean went to shoot something back at you, but Sam was quick to jump in. “Alright—” he directed his next question at Dean, “—Lake Manitoc, how far?”
***
You had been driving for what felt like forever. Lake Manitoc was, in fact, pretty far from the diner you had stopped at. In between playfully bickering with Sam about the cultural impact of 1995’s Clueless and fighting with Dean over the stupidest thing, you had been doodling in your journal to keep you occupied. You were focused on drawing the wendigo from your previous hunt to the most detailed extent your memory would allow.
Most of your sketches were placed next to journal entries about the hunts you embarked on, or you wrote around them once you had finished your drawings. The drawings themselves were halfway decent, in your opinion. However, you always wished you would’ve been able to take art classes in your youth and had some semblance of normalcy. You did all your shading and drawing with black pens you’d purchased while hopping state to state. You found the process relaxing and helpful at getting your mind off the horrors of your day to day life.
Your shading process was interrupted by the Impala’s roaring engine stalling to a low rumble in front of what had formerly been the drowning victim’s home.
You got out of the car and headed up the painted green steps leading to the house. The wooden stair boards creaked beneath your boots as you walked. Dean knocked on the door of the house and was greeted by a man that looked to be about your age standing there.
“Will Carlton?” Dean questioned the young man.
“Yeah, that's right.”
“I'm Agent Ford,” the older Winchester started. “This is Agent Hamill—” he gestured to Sam, “Agent Fisher—” he gestured to you, “We're with the US Wildlife Service.” He held his fake badge up for Will to see. “Can we ask you a couple questions? Maybe see the spot where your sister went down?”
“Sure,” Will nodded. He led you and the boys down to the edge of the water. “She was about a hundred yards out.” He pointed at a spot far out into the lake. “That's where she got dragged down.”
“And you're sure she didn't just drown?” Dean asked.
“Yeah. She was a varsity swimmer,” Will answered. “She practically grew up in that lake. She was as safe out there as in her own bathtub.”
The older man sitting on a bench on the wooden dock that jutted out into the lake grabbed your attention. The following interrogation was just background noise to you as you studied the man’s slumped over form.
“So no splashing? No signs of distress?” Sam piped up.
“No, that's what I'm telling you.” Will was failing at keeping his aggravation at bay. You were sure he had already had a week full of questioning keeping the wound of his sister’s passing ripped wide open.
“Did you see any shadows in the water? Maybe some dark shape breach the surface?”
“No. Again, she was really far out there.”
“You ever see any strange tracks by the shoreline?”
“No, never. Why? Why, what do you think's out there?”
“We'll let you know as soon as we do,” you heard Dean say. You sucked in a breath when Dean suddenly yanked on your arm to get you to follow him to the car.
“What was that for?” you hissed, ripping your arm out of his grip.
“You wanna stop creeping on the old man and focus on the case?”
“I wasn’t creeping on him,” you replied.
“Yeah? Well, then what were you doing?”
“Just... thinking,” you answered.
“You can think when we’re not in the middle of talkin’ to a witness,” he told you.
“Are you that much of a control freak that I can’t think when I want to?” you asked incredulously. “Grow up.”
Dean opened his mouth to say something back to you, but Sam cut him off in an attempt to stop a fight from happening in front of the Carltons. “Okay, so. Can’t talk to Mr. Carlton.“
“Okay...” you trailed off, “So our best bet is the police station, then.”
***
The sheriff, whose name you found out was Jake, walked out from behind the desk in the police station’s lobby as he addressed you and the boys. “Now, I’m sorry, but why does the Wildlife Service care about an accidental drowning?”
“You sure it's accidental?” Sam challenged. “Will Carlton saw something grab his sister.”
Jake led you and the Winchesters into his office. “Like what?” He motioned to the two chairs in front of his desk. "Here, sit, please.”
You took a seat in one of the chairs and Dean sat in the other. Sam leaned on the back of your chair as the sheriff continued to speak.
“There are no indigenous carnivores in that lake. There's nothing even big enough to pull down a person unless it was the Loch Ness Monster.”
“Yeah, Dean laughed, “Right.”
“Will Carlton was traumatized, and sometimes the mind plays tricks. Still—” Jake sat down behind his cluttered desk, leaning forward on it on his forearms, “We dragged that entire lake. We even ran a sonar sweep, just to be sure, and there was nothing down there.”
“That's weird, though,” the older Winchester noted, “I mean, that's, that's the third missing body this year.”
“I know,” Jake started, “These are people from my town. These are people I care about.”
“I know,” Dean told him.
“Anyway,” the sheriff sighed, “All this...it won't be a problem much longer.”
“What do you mean?” Dean questioned.
“Well, the dam, of course,” Jake stated as if it were obvious.
“Of course, the dam. It's, uh,” Dean stuttered awkwardly, “it sprung a leak.”
You jumped in before Dean could make the situation worse. “No, it’s falling apart, remember? The feds won’t give them the money to fix it, so they opened the spillway,” you told him.
“It’s good to see somebody does their research,” the sheriff commented. “As Federal Wildlife, you should already know that.”
“Mm-hmm,” you hummed.
A few quiet knocks on the door drew your attention behind you.
A pretty brunette walked into the office. “Sorry, am I interrupting?”
You and Dean stood up, facing the young woman.
“I can come back later,” she said, turning to leave.
Jake’s voice stopped her movements as he stood up as well. “Gentlemen— and lady— this is my daughter.”
“It's a pleasure to meet you,” the older Winchester smirked.
‘Is he seriously making his voice deeper?’
“I'm Dean.” He shook the woman’s hand. You fought the urge to scoff, given he couldn’t spare you a handshake when he’d met you.
“Andrea Barr,” she smiled. “Hi.”
“Hi.” He was eyeing her up and down.
‘He’s still fucking smiling.’
“They're from the Wildlife Service,” her father interjected. “About the lake.”
“Oh.”
A little boy with shaggy, copper-colored hair walked out from behind Andrea, his head down low.
“Oh, hey there,” Dean grinned at the boy. “What's your name?”
The child looked up at Dean with sad eyes before turning and walking out of the room without saying a word. Andrea looked at Dean apologetically before following who you assumed was her son out of the room.
“His name is Lucas,” Jake answered for the boy.
You watched as Andrea gave Lucas a box of crayons and ran her hand over his hair.
“Is he okay?” Sam asked.
“My grandson's been through a lot. We all have,” the older man admitted. He went and stood by the entrance to the office, turning to face you and the boys. “Well, if there's anything else I can do for you, please let me know.” He led the three of you out of the office.
You thanked the sheriff.
Dean looked at the sheriff as he began to talk.“You know, now that you mentioned it—”
‘Oh, boy.’
He directed his attention toward Andrea, “—could you point us in the direction of a reasonably priced motel?”
“Lakefront Motel,” she told him. “Go around the corner. It's about two blocks south.”
“Two—” He feigned confusion. “Would you mind showing us?”
Andrea laughed. “You want me to walk you two blocks?”
“Not if it's any trouble,” Dean stated, his smile bright.
‘Is he for real?’
“I'm headed that way anyway,” she shrugged. She told her father she would be back to pick up Lucas at three and told Lucas that she would take him to the park before leaving with you and the boys.
“Thanks again,” Sam nodded at Jake as he followed Andrea out of the station.
You and Sam stayed a few paces back from Dean and Andrea as he attempted to charm the brunette. You and Sam both wanted the pavement to swallow you whole.
“So, cute kid,” you heard Dean tell her.
“Thanks,” she replied.
‘Short, to the point, not taking any of his crap,’ you thought. ‘I like her.’
“Kids are the best, huh?” the older Winchester tried again.
Andrea glanced back at him over her shoulder, shaking her head with a smile on her face as she continued walking.
She stopped in front of a place that said “Lakefront Motel” in bold, white letters, contrasting with the red background the words were placed upon. “There it is. Like I said, two blocks.”
Sam thanked her.
She turned to address Dean. “Must be hard, with your sense of direction, never being able to find your way to a decent pickup line.” She walked away, calling back over her shoulder, “Enjoy your stay!”
You let the laugh you were trying to suppress burst out of your lips. “I like her!”
“‘Kids are the best'? You don't even like kids.” Sam was not missing the opportunity to rag on his brother.
“I love kids!” his older brother argued.
“Name three children that you even know,” Sam responded.
Dean paused to think for a moment but came up empty. You waved your hands at him in a shooing motion before walking toward the motel with Sam.
“I’m thinking!” he called after the two of you.
“Have fun going to get the car, Dean!” you called back to him as his younger brother chuckled.
“We seriously just walked two blocks and left the car at the police station all so Dean could try to hook up with the hot mom,” you sighed, shaking your head.
You and the boys had gone to your separate motel rooms to unpack once Dean had grabbed your bags— well, his and Sam’s— making you go out to the Impala to get your own.
Sam told you that he and Dean were going to take some time to unpack and the three of you would meet up again later. You were never one for unpacking your duffel bag on hunts since you would not be staying in one location for very long. Instead, you took the downtime you had been given to do some research.
You pulled your laptop along with a few other items out of your bag before flopping down onto the flimsy mattress and kicking your combat boots off. As you blew out a puff of air, you opened your laptop to The Lake Manitoc Tribune’s browser page. You scrolled through article after article on the drownings in the town. One article, in particular, caught your attention. The headline read “Local Man in Tragic Accident” with the story of a man named Christopher Barr written below.
‘Christopher Barr... as in Andrea Barr?’
Your question was answered when you scrolled a little way down the page to see a picture of a soaking wet and traumatized Lucas wrapped in a towel. He was standing next to a policeman who you assumed was Lucas’s grandfather.
You read the article in full detail. It told the story of how Lucas and his father were out swimming in the lake when Christopher was pulled beneath the surface of the water. Lucas was floating on a nearby wooden platform at the time of his father’s drowning. Two hours later, Lucas was rescued.
‘That poor thing...’
You were no stranger to witnessing the death of a parent, so you knew how hard it must have been for Lucas. As far as you could tell from reading through loads of articles, Lucas was the only eyewitness to see whatever creature you were dealing with. This struck you as peculiar since there were so many accounts of other lake monster sightings, making you believe you were not dealing with something corporeal.
You heard a knock on the door moments later, and you opened it to find Sam standing there. You invited him into your room, and the two of you sat at the small table by the window of the room to talk.
“So,” he started, “we figured out what’s up with Lucas.”
“Yeah, I did too,” you responded. “That poor kid.”
“Yeah...” he trailed off, shaking his head.
“Where’s Dean?”
“Back in our room. He’s still unpacking.”
“Jesus, how much shit does he carry around with him? He’s been unpacking for, like, forty-five minutes,” you scoffed.
“He’s slow,” Sam chuckled.
“Yeah, so I’ve gathered,” you retorted.
You saw Sam’s eyes drift over to your bed where some of the contents of your duffel bag were scattered. He nodded at what you assumed was your open journal as he questioned, “You draw?”
“Yep,” you replied.
“Can I see?”
“Sure,” you shrugged, leaning back in your chair to grab it off your bed. You opened it to some of your most recent drawings and let him flip through them.
“Dude, these are really good,” he complimented you.
You thanked him with a smile. “I did one of you the first week I met you.” You showed it to him.
“Thanks,” he grinned. “This is amazing.” He looked from the drawing back up to you. “But why’d you draw me?”
“Well, I draw people I find interesting,” you shrugged. "You and that freaky head of yours are interesting.”
“Who are the other people you drew?” He gestured to one of an older woman from a few months back.
“Not a clue,” you answered. “Like I said, people I find interesting. Random people in bars, diners; pretty much anywhere.”
“That’s so cool,” he told you. Sam handed you the book back.
“What about you?” you asked as you took it from him. “You have any fun hobbies? Hidden talents I should know about?”
“Not really,” he replied. “I mean, I like to read.”
“Lame,” you joked, leaning back in your chair with your arms crossed. “C’mon, there’s gotta be something more fun than that.”
“Well, I liked going to the gym at Stanford and going on runs.”
“Oh, so you’re a health nut,” you chuckled.
“I guess so, yeah,” Sam laughed.
A moment passed before you spoke again. “You remind me so much of my brother.”
He turned his head to you. “Didn’t know you had one.”
You shrugged. “I, uh, don’t talk about him much. But yeah.”
“What was his name?”
“I always called him ‘Stevie’ or ‘Bubba,’ but his name was Steven.” You smiled fondly at his memory. “He was super smart. Greatest person I’ve ever known.”
Before you could continue, you were cut off by a knock on the door.
“You girls done in there?” Dean called.
“I guess we are now,” you remarked.
Sam got up and let his brother into the room as you glanced at the clock on your bedside table that read “3:15.”
“We should probably head over to the park now,” you told the boys.
“Park? Why?” Dean inquired.
“Andrea said she was bringing Lucas there at three. He’s the only eyewitness we got, so we should probably try to talk to him,” you informed him.
“Alright, let’s go.”
***
Conveniently enough for you and the Winchesters, there was only one park in Lake Manitoc since it was such a small town. You noticed Andrea sitting on a bench on the outskirts of the small field near the playground watching over her son. He was sat on the ground by another bench a little ways off from Andrea, using the bench as a table for him to color on. Lucas had crayons, paper, and what appeared to be green army men scattered on the bench.
“Can we join you?” Sam asked Andrea once you three had walked up next to her bench.
The brunette looked up at you three, smiling as she stated, “I'm here with my son.”
“Oh,” the older Winchester started, “Mind if I say hi?” Without waiting for her answer, he went over to Lucas.
Andrea addressed you and Sam as the two of you sat on the bench next to her. “Tell your friend this whole Jerry Maguire thing is not gonna work on me.”
“I don't think that's what this is about,” Sam told her.
You watched as Dean knelt next to the young boy while Andrea and Sam talked about Christopher’s drowning. Lucas paid Dean no mind, continuing to color as Dean played with the army men on the bench briefly. He spoke a little more before grabbing a piece of paper and sitting on the bench. Dean showed off whatever he had drawn to Lucas before putting the drawing down when Lucas was unresponsive and decided to say something else to the young boy. Moments later, the older Winchester walked back over to you, Andrea, and Sam.
Andrea was saying something about how Lucas had not spoken since his father’s death as Dean reached your group.
“Yeah, we heard. Sorry,” Sam told her. “What are the doctors saying?”
“That it's a kind of post-traumatic stress,” she explained.
“That can't be easy. For either of you.”
“We moved in with my dad. He helps out a lot. It's just...when I think about what Lucas went through, what he saw...” she trailed off and shook her head.
There was a short silence broken by Dean. “Kids are strong. You'd be surprised what they can deal with.”
You noticed Lucas get up from his seat by the bench out of the corner of your eye and make his way over to your group with a piece of construction paper in hand.
“You know,” Andrea began, “he used to have such life. He was hard to keep up with, to tell you the truth. Now he just sits there. Drawing those pictures, playing with those army men. I just wish—” she was caught by surprise to see Lucas suddenly next to her. “Oh, hey, sweetheart.”
Lucas ignored his mom and looked up at Dean. He handed the man the picture.
“Thanks,” Dean nodded, looking the drawing over. “Thanks, Lucas.”
You caught a glimpse of the paper, recognizing the house in it but unable to place where you had seen it.
“We’ll see you around,” Sam told Andrea as you and the Winchesters turned away from the Barrs.
You studied Dean as he looked over the picture. In your mind, he was still a dick but had made the child feel comfortable enough to communicate by some means with him.
“What are you looking at?” Dean interrogated you gruffly, looking at you out of the corner of his eye.
‘And he’s back to being a dick.’
***
You slept pretty well that night but woke up groggy in deep need of coffee. You rubbed the sleep out of your eyes and got up from your bed, moving over to your duffel bag. You grabbed a clean black shirt from your bag along with a pair of jeans and socks. You tucked the oversized shirt into your jeans and tugged on your combat boots. After finishing your morning routine, you headed out of the door. You figured it was late enough that the boys should be up, and knocked on the door to their room. Sam opened it a few seconds later.
“I want coffee,” you stated dryly, feeling a bit like a zombie in your decaffeinated state.
“Me too,” he answered. “You want anything, Dean?”
The older brother grunted in response from somewhere within the room.
“I’ll take that as a no.”
After grabbing the Impala’s keys, you and Sam headed over to the car.
“Is he always that cheery in the mornings?” you asked referring to Dean.
“Yeah, he’s a joy to be around when he first wakes up,” Sam responded sarcastically. The two of you got into the car and Sam began to drive away from the motel.
“Ooh, I saw a cute little coffee shop over that way.” You pointed out of the passenger’s side window.
Sam followed your instructions, and soon the two of you were off for a drive in the neighborhood around the lake with coffees in hand.
You straightened up in your seat when you saw an ambulance in front of the Carlton house. “Pull over.”
Sam did as told, and the two of you hopped out of the car. There were several other onlookers standing near the house.
“What happened?” you asked one of the older women nearby.
“Oh, the young man who lived here, Will Carlton,” she began, putting a hand on her chest, “he died last night.”
“What?” Sam asked incredulously.
“The poor thing drowned.”
“How?” You gave the woman a quizzical look.
“I don’t really understand it myself,” she laughed uncomfortably, “he drowned in the sink. His father didn’t find him till this morning.”
“What the hell?” you muttered under your breath.
“Poor Bill,” the older woman sighed, looking at the house. “First his godson in May, then his daughter, and now Will.”
“His godson?” Sam questioned.
“Christopher Barr.”
You looked up at Sam, who looked down at you with a confused expression that mirrored your own.
You said your goodbyes to the older woman and headed back to the car.
“This just gets weirder all the time,” Sam commented as he drove the two of you away from the scene.
“At least now we know there’s a connection to Bill Carlton,” you reminded him.
“But what did he do to deserve this?”
“Hell if I know.”
You and Sam filled Dean in on the situation as soon as you walked into the boys’ shared motel room.
“What the hell? So you're right,” Dean said, talking to Sam, “this isn't a creature. We're dealing with something else.”
“Yeah, but what?” you asked.
“I don't know,” he told you in an annoyed tone as if you had asked a stupid question. “Water wraith, maybe? Some kind of demon? I mean, something that controls water...” he trailed off. He straightened up and his eyes grew wider as he came to a realization. “Water that comes from the same source.”
“The lake.” You were making the same connections he was.
“Yeah.”
“Which would explain why it's upping the body count. The lake is draining. It'll be dry in a few months. Whatever this thing is, whatever it wants, it's running out of time,” you added.
“And if it can get through the pipes, it can get to anyone, almost anywhere.” Dean got up from the bed as he spoke, his stress level seeming to rise slightly. “This is gonna happen again soon.” He sat down on one of the chairs at the table near the window.
“And we do know one other thing for sure. We know this has got something to do with Bill Carlton,” Sam mentioned.
“Yeah, it took both his kids,” the older Winchester acknowledged.
“And this lady at the Carlton house said that Chris was Bill’s godson,” you explained.
Dean looked up at you and Sam. “Let's go pay Mr. Carlton a visit.”
***
Your attempted questioning of Mr. Carlton had gone unsuccessfully.
“My children are gone. It's...it's worse than dying. Go away. Please,” the older man dismissed you. Through the duration of his visit, he refused to look up from the boards of the wooden dock. His posture had been slumped over, and his facial expression remained solemn.
“We’re sorry,” you told him before you followed the boys back to the car.
“What do you think?” Sam asked.
“Aw, I think the poor guy's been through hell,” Dean replied. “I also think he's not telling us something.”
“So now what?” the younger brother inquired, leaning on the roof of the car.
“Huh,” you let out, still facing Bill’s home.
“What?” Sam asked.
“You got Lucas’s drawing on you by any chance?” you asked Dean.
He looked at you questioningly but pulled it out of his jacket pocket nonetheless.
You unfolded the paper and held it up next to the Carlton house. Lucas had drawn Bill’s house on the paper, which is why the drawing looked familiar to you.
“Maybe Bill's not the only one who knows something,” Dean commented.
***
You and the boys were just inside the door of the Barr household, trying to get Andrea to let Dean talk to Lucas.
“I'm sorry,” Andrea expressed, “but I don't think it's a good idea.”
“I just need to talk to him. Just for a few minutes,” Dean pleaded.
“He won't say anything. What good's it gonna do?”
“Andrea, we think more people might get hurt. We think something's happening out there,” Sam explained.
“My husband, the others, they just drowned. That's all.”
You could tell Andrea did not really think that.
“If that's what you really believe, then we'll go. But if you think there's even a possibility that something else could be going on here, please let me talk to your son,” Dean tried one last time.
Andrea gave in, showing you and the boys down the hall to Lucas’s room. Your group found Lucas sitting on the floor surrounded by drawings and army men. He was coloring another picture.
Dean walked into the room and crouched down beside the boy’s setup. “You know, I, uh, I wanted to thank you for that last drawing. But the thing is, I need your help again.”
You looked over at what Lucas was drawing. It was a person in the water. You quirked an eyebrow at it as Dean placed the picture of the Carlton house in front of Lucas.
“How did you know to draw this? Did you know something bad was gonna happen? Maybe you could nod yes or no for me,” Dean offered.
Lucas ignored him.
“You're scared. It's okay. I understand. See, when I was your age, I saw something real bad happen to my mom, and I was scared, too. I didn't feel like talking, just like you. But see, my mom—I know she wanted me to be brave. I think about that every day. And I do my best to be brave. And maybe, your dad wants you to be brave too.”
That seemingly touched something within Lucas, who dropped the crayon and looked up at the older Winchester.
You heard Andrea suck in a breath as Lucas handed Dean a picture of a white church, a yellow two-story house, and a little boy with a red bicycle.
“Thanks, Lucas,” Dean said quietly.
***
“Andrea said the kid never drew like that till his dad died,” Dean brought up as he drove along the highway. The three of you were attempting to find the place Lucas had drawn.
“There are cases—going through a traumatic experience could make people more sensitive to premonitions, psychic tendencies,” Sam explained.
“Whatever's out there, what if Lucas is tapping into it somehow? I mean, it's only a matter of time before somebody else drowns, so if you got a better lead, please,” Dean remarked.
You leaned forward on your elbows on the back of the leather front seat. “All right, we got another house to find.”
“The only problem is there's about a thousand yellow two-stories in this county alone,” Dean brought up, his tone once again implying what he thought you were suggesting was stupid.
Sam looked at the picture, which he held in his hand. “See this church? I bet there's less than a thousand of those around here.”
“Oh, College Boy thinks he's so smart,” the older brother mocked.
“You know, um...” Sam started. “What you said about Mom...You never told me that before.”
“It's no big deal,” Dean shrugged.
Sam looked at him with his signature puppy dog eyes expression.
“Oh God,” the older Winchester groaned. “We're not gonna have to hug or anything, are we?”
You and the boys walked up to the yellow house that matched the one in the drawing. The house just so happened to be across the street from a church just like Lucas had drawn.
You were greeted at the door by a petite old woman. “Hello,” she smiled.
“Hi,” you grinned back. “I’m (Y/N), this is Sam and Dean—” you gestured between the two boys, “—we just have a question for you.”
“Come in, come in.” She was incredibly welcoming as she allowed you and the Winchesters into her home.
“We're sorry to bother you, ma'am,” Dean began, “but does a little boy live here, by chance? He might wear a blue ball cap, has a red bicycle.”
The woman’s formerly cheery disposition suddenly shifted to solemn. “No sir. Not for a very long time.” She looked over at a picture of a smiling little boy on a table in the living room. “Peter's been gone for thirty-five years now.” She turned back to you and the boys. “The police never— I never had any idea what happened. He just disappeared.” The woman’s voice wavered as she spoke.
Your eyebrows turned upwards out of sympathy for her.
Sam nudged your elbow and pointed out toy soldiers sitting on one of the side tables.
“Losing him—you know, it's...it's worse than dying.” The woman echoed Bill Carlton’s earlier statement.
“Did he disappear from here? I mean, from this house?” the older Winchester question.
“He was supposed to ride his bike straight home after school, and he never showed up,” the woman whimpered.
Dean picked up a picture off of a mirror in the room. It was of two little boys in boy scout uniforms, one of them being Peter with his red bicycle. “Peter Sweeney and Billy Carlton, nineteen seventy,” Dean read from the back of the photo.
“We’re sorry for your loss,” Sam stated softly. “We’ll just be going now. Thank you for your time.” He and his brother turned to head out of the door.
The woman turned away, her sniffles tugging on your heartstrings as you went to follow the boys.
“Mrs. Sweeney?”
She turned to you, as did the boys, who watched from the door.
“Can I give you a hug?”
She seemed surprised by your question but accepted your offer nonetheless. As soon as you wrapped your arms around her, she broke down into sobs.
“I’m so sorry,” you whispered to her.
She nodded into your shoulder as a response.
After another moment, you released her and rubbed up and down her arms. “It’ll be okay.”
She nodded once more.
You and the boys showed yourselves out. None of you said a word until about halfway through the drive.
Sam was the one to break the silence. “Okay, this little boy Peter Sweeney vanishes, and this is all connected to Bill Carlton somehow.”
“Yeah, Bill sure as hell seems to be hiding something, huh?” Dean mentioned.
“And Bill, the people he loves, they're all getting punished.”
“So what if Bill did something to Peter?”
“What if Bill killed him?”
“Peter's spirit would be furious. It'd want revenge. It's possible.” Dean’s eyes flickered to yours in the rearview mirror. “This is probably the quietest I’ve heard you since I met you, (Y/N). Wanna share what you’re thinkin’ about with the class?”
“Like you give a shit,” you grumbled back.
“I was trying to, but fine, keep being a bitch.”
You could not believe Dean. “What, you treat me like I’m stupid, act like a dick to me for weeks, and suddenly I’m supposed to believe you’re genuinely concerned?”
“Forget I asked.”
The Impala pulled in front of the Carlton house, and to your surprise, you had not seen Bill sitting on the dock. You and the Winchesters got out of the car, calling out to Mr. Carlton.
You wheeled around when you heard the roar of what sounded like a boat engine.
“Guys?” you called to the boys behind you when you saw Bill driving his boat out into the lake.
You immediately broke out into a sprint, yelling for the man to turn his boat around.
Bill turned his head to look at you three standing at the edge of the dock but continued driving out. As soon as he turned his head back around, the water beneath the boat sprang up as if a bomb had been blown up beneath the surface. Bill’s boat flipped over into the water, and neither Bill nor the boat ever resurfaced.
You and the boys called Jake to the scene of Bill Carlton’s disappearance. Neighbors gathered around the lake, looking for signs of Bill, the boat, or whatever had taken him down. After Jake found nothing and questioned the neighbors who witnessed what had happened, he asked you and the Winchesters to head back to the station with him.
Once inside the station, you spotted Andrea and Lucas sitting behind the desk in the police station’s lobby.
When the young woman saw you, she bounced up and put the bag that was in her hands on the seat behind her. “Sam, Dean, (Y/N), I didn’t expect to see you here.
Jake looked between your group and Andrea. “So now you're on a first-name basis,” he scoffed. “What are you doing here?” He directed the question to his daughter.
“I brought you dinner,” she explained.
“I'm sorry, sweetheart, I don't really have the time.” He shook his head and moved past her to head into his office, you and the boys hot on his tail.
The sound of Andrea’s voice made all four of you stop and turn around. “I heard about Bill Carlton. Is it true? Is something going on with the lake?”
“Right now we don't know what the truth is,” Jake relayed. “But I think it might be better if you and Lucas went on home.”
As soon as the older man mentioned Lucas going home, the little boy jumped up with a panicked look on his face. He whined and tugged on Dean’s arm as Andrea and Jake tried to comfort him.
Andrea managed to get her son off of Dean and pull him out of the office. You watched the pair as they left, and noticed Lucas’s eyes never left Dean.
The sheriff threw his jacket onto a chair and scrubbed a hand through his hair as he walked into the office.
You looked at Sam and the two of you supposed you were to follow Jake.
You sat in one chair, Dean sat in the other, and Sam leaned on the back of your chair just as had happened before.
The older man leaned on the front of his desk in front of your trio. “Okay, just so I'm clear, you see,” Jake trailed off, recovering a moment later, “something attack Bill's boat, sending Bill—who is a very good swimmer, by the way—into the drink, and you never see him again?”
“Yep, that about sums it up,” you replied.
“And I'm supposed to believe this, even though I've already sonar-swept that entire lake? And what you're describing is impossible? And you're not really Wildlife Service?” Jake casually mentioned.
You managed to keep a poker face on, but apparently, Dean gave you away.
“That's right, I checked. Department's never heard of you three.”
“See, now, we can explain that—” Dean started, but was immediately cut off by the officer.
“Enough. Please. The only reason you're breathing free air is one of Bill's neighbors saw him steering out that boat just before you did. So, we have a couple of options here. I can arrest you for impersonating government officials and hold you as material witnesses to Bill Carlton's disappearance. Or, we can chalk this all up to a bad day, you get into your car, you put this town in your rearview mirror, and you don't ever darken my doorstep again.” Jake jutted his finger in your face as he spoke, his tone harsh.
“Door number two is... rather appealing.” You were trying to keep up your plucky attitude despite your circumstances.
“That's the one I'd pick,” he said sharply.
***
You had your head against the window, legs tossed to the side of you as the hum of the Impala’s engine was slowly lulling you to sleep.
Sam’s voice pulled you out of your haze. “Green.”
“What?” Dean asked. Apparently, he had been in a daze, too.
‘Not good considering this asshole’s the one driving.’
“Light's green,” Sam elaborated.
Dean turned right.
“Uh, the interstate's the other way,” you yawned.
“I know.”
“Oh-kay—” you dragged out the word, “—so why are you heading back to Lake Manitoc?”
“Cause I think we still got more work to do,” he responded.
“But Dean, this job, I think it’s over,” Sam interjected.
“I'm not so sure,” Dean replied shortly.
Sam gave his brother more pushback. “If Bill murdered Peter Sweeney and Peter's spirit got its revenge, case closed. The spirit should be at rest.”
“All right, so what if we take off and this thing isn't done? You know, what if we've missed something? What if more people get hurt?” Dean argued.
“But why would you think that?”
“Because Lucas was really scared.”
‘Can’t argue with him there.’
The younger Winchester was caught by surprise. “That's what this is about?”
“I just don't want to leave this town until I know the kid's okay.” Dean tried to play off his concern nonchalantly, but you could see right through the act.
‘Aw, he does have a heart.’
“Y’know, I’m actually with Dean on this one,” you declared.
Dean quirked a brow at you in the rearview mirror, but you simply shrugged at him.
“Who are you two? And what have you done with my brother and (Y/N)?” Sam quipped sarcastically, glancing between you and his brother with a confused expression.
There was a slight pause before both you and Dean said in unison, “Shut up.”
***
“Are you sure about this?” Sam looked around as you and the Winchesters stood on the front porch of the Barr house. “It's pretty late, man.”
Dean ignored him, ringing the doorbell. Immediately it opened to reveal a panicked Lucas.
“Lucas? Lucas!” Dean called after the boy as he took off into the house.
You followed behind Dean as all four of you sprinted through the house. You heard a splash beneath your feet and realized water was pouring down the stairs in front of you. Lucas started to pound on the door that led to where the water was coming from, which you assumed was a bathroom.
Dean pulled Lucas out of the way just before you gave a powerful kick to the door, effectively knocking it in.
Inside the bathroom, the tub was filled to the brim with murky, brown water. You jumped out of the way to let Sam try to pull Andrea out of there, knowing he would be a better fit for the job than you were.
Sam eventually managed to pull her out of the bathtub. They landed with Sam on his back and Andrea on top of him, sobbing and coughing up water. You immediately offered the woman a towel you had found and wrapped her in it.
Lucas threw Dean off of him and immediately wrapped his arms around his mom.
Happy to see that she was okay, you and the boys let Andrea have some privacy to get dressed. After she had done that, she and Sam went into the living room to talk while you and Dean looked for a connection to Peter Sweeney.
You found a bookshelf full of photo albums and began giving the labels a quick once-over. You found one with “Jake— 12 years old” scrawled across the white label of the brown cover. You flipped to a page with pictures of the same Boy Scout troop that Peter Sweeney seemed to have been in from that picture you saw at the Sweeney house. You shut the book on your finger, holding your spot in the photo album.
“Whatcha got?” Dean asked.
“You’ll see.” You walked past him back into the living room. You opened the photo album to the page your finger was tabbing, putting the book in front of Andrea on the coffee table. “You recognize the kids in these pictures?”
She seemed caught off-guard, and you felt bad for potentially startling her after the night she had had.
“What? Um, no.” She took a pause. “I mean, except that's my dad right there. He must have been about twelve in these pictures.” The brunette dragged her finger across the page gesturing to her dad as a young boy. Jake was standing next to who you recognized as Peter Sweeney in several of the pictures.
“Chris Barr's drowning,” Dean spoke up. “The connection wasn't to Bill Carlton. It must have been to the sheriff.”
“Bill and the sheriff,” the younger man corrected his brother, “they were both involved with Peter.”
“What about Chris? My dad—what are you talking about?” Andrea was looking at the three of you like you were crazy.
“Lucas?” Dean’s voice brought your attention to the little boy staring out of the window. “Lucas, what is it?”
Lucas kept his gaze focused outside as he walked out of the door. Andrea continued to call after Lucas as you all followed him outside. Lucas stopped and looked at the ground and then up at the older Winchester, who stood beside him.
Dean faced Andrea. “You and Lucas get back to the house and stay there, okay?”
Andrea did as told, pulling her son away from your trio.
You turned to the brothers. “You guys still have those shovels in the trunk?”
“Keep workin’ hard over there, sweetheart,” Dean deadpanned.
You pushed yourself off of the tree you were leaning against. “Dude, you only had two shovels and you were too busy trying to be macho and digging whatever’s down there up yourself to let me use one of them,” you protested. “So don’t tell me shit about ‘working hard.’ But by all means—” you then started to use a mocking baby voice, “—if Dean is getting a wittle too sweaty, I’d be happy to take his pwace.”
“Nope. I got it.”
You loved using his stubbornness against him. “So hush your mouth.”
He glared back at you and plunged his shovel back into the dirt when the metal part of the shovel hit another piece of metal. You and Dean both looked down at what laid beneath the ground and you helped the boys pull the object out of the dirt.
“Peter’s bike,” Sam remarked.
You heard a gun cock behind your head before feeling the barrel pressed squarely on the back of it. “Who are you?”
‘Jake.’
The boys slowly turned around.
“Put the gun down, Jake,” Sam pleaded.
Both he and Dean dropped their shovels.
“How did you know that was there?” The sheriff demanded.
The older Winchester did not answer his question. “What happened? You and Bill killed Peter, drowned him in the lake, and then buried the bike? You can't bury the truth, Jake. Nothing stays buried.”
“I don't know what the hell you're talking about.” The sheriff’s lie was not even in the ballpark of convincing.
“You and Bill killed Peter Sweeney thirty-five years ago. That's what the hell I'm talking about.”
“Dad!” Andrea yelled, running up to the altercation.
“And now you got one seriously pissed-off spirit,” Dean continued, keeping his eyes trained on Jake.
“Peter’s gonna get everyone you love— Lucas, Andrea— and drag their bodies god knows where, so you can feel the same pain Peter’s mom felt. And then it’s gonna take you. It won’t stop until it does,” you informed him, trying to keep your voice even despite the cold chill running down your spine emanating from the spot where the gun met your head.
Jake pressed the gun further into your skull. “Yeah, and how do you know that?”
“Because that's exactly what it did to Bill Carlton,” you told the older man.
“Listen to yourselves, all of you. You're insane!” he chided.
Dean scoffed. “I don't really give a rat's ass what you think of us. But if we're gonna bring down this spirit, we need to find the remains, salt them, and burn them into dust. Now tell me you buried Peter somewhere. Tell me you didn't just let him go in the lake.”
“Dad, is any of this true?” Andrea interrupted, her voice shaking.
“No,” her father lied. “Don't listen to them. They're liars and they're dangerous.”
The brunette wasn’t having it. “Something tried to drown me. Chris died on that lake. Dad, look at me.”
A pause followed.
“Tell me you—you didn't kill anyone,” Andrea pleaded.
No response came once again. You felt the gun behind your head drop away. You rushed over to Sam and Dean, your adrenaline still keeping your breath in a vice grip. You could see the guilt beginning to overtake Jake’s features.
“Oh my God,” Andrea breathed.
“Billy and I were at the lake,” Jake started to explain. “Peter was the smallest one. We always bullied him, but this time, it got rough. We were holding his head under the water. We didn't mean to. But we held him under too long and he drowned. We let the body go, and it sank.”
‘Great,’ you thought. ‘Makes our job so much easier.’
Jake’s focus remained on his daughter. “Oh, Andrea, we were kids. We were so scared. It was a mistake. But, Andrea, to say that I have anything to do with these drownings, with Chris, because of some ghost? It's not rational.”
Dean was done with Jake’s skeptical attitude. “All right, listen to me, all of you. We need to get you away from this lake, as far as we can, right now.”
Andrea turned her head and immediately cried, “Lucas!”
You turned your head in the direction she was looking to see the little boy leaning over the side of the lake reaching for something.
You took off, following close behind Jake as you ran. You spotted Lucas get pulled into the water by something, causing you to cry out his name. You ran off the solid ground onto the dock, leaping into the water once you reached the edge of the platform. You pulled yourself deep into the lake, trying your best to make out the shape of Lucas or the spirit of Peter. You went back up to the surface, taking in a deep breath. You looked over to Andrea on the dock, and she stared back at you with a panicked expression. You shook your head, diving back below the surface.
While you did not see Lucas, you did see a boy with skin pale gray and tattered clothing rising to the surface a mere few feet from you. You flinched back, the appearance of Peter’s spirit catching you off-guard. It grabbed Jake, who you just noticed had gone into the water and began pulling him under. You sprang into action, swimming as fast as you could over to where Jake was being pulled down. You reached your hand down, trying to grab him, but. it was too late. You were running out of air, and because the water below was getting blacker as you went deeper, you could not see Jake anymore.
You clawed your way back to the surface, gasping for air when you came up. Andrea looked at you frantically, and you shook your head once more. She screamed “No!” just before splashing coming from behind you on the right caught your attention. You looked behind you to see Dean holding an unconscious Lucas to his chest. The poor little boy’s head was lying on Dean’s shoulder limply, and you and Sam swam to help him. Sam took Lucas ashore, and you checked him over to see if he would need CPR. Once you determined that he would, you immediately set to work. You were able to revive him with two cycles of rescue breaths and chest compressions. He immediately coughed up water as air filled his lungs once more. You got out of Andrea’s way and let her hug her son.
The scene before you— Andrea on her knees, crying and hugging her rescued son— was the reason why you did what you did. Seeing families reunited and given a temporary happy ending was what made you love hunting, despite how gruesome the job could get at times. You figured that even though your life was so screwed to hell, at least you could save the lives of others.
Once you and the boys had changed clothes, dried off, and packed up, you began loading your stuff into the car. Dean clearly had something on his mind, and you were not the only one to notice.
“Look, we're not gonna save everybody,” Sam reminded his brother, having figured out what Dean was mulling over.
“I know." His voice was distant.
“Sam, Dean, (Y/N),” you heard Andrea call.
You looked up to see the young woman walking toward you with Lucas, who carried a tray of food wrapped in cellophane.
You all walked toward each other, stopping once you had met in the middle.
“We're glad we caught you. We just, um, we made you lunch for the road,” Andrea smiled. “Lucas insisted on making the sandwiches himself.”
“Can I give it to them now?” Lucas asked his mom.
The sound of his voice made you smile.
“Of course.” The young woman kissed her son’s head.
“Come on, Lucas, let's load this into the car.” Dean led Lucas over to the car, and you stayed with Sam to talk to Andrea.
“How you holding up?” the younger brother asked her.
“It's just gonna take a long time to sort through everything, you know?”
“Andrea, I'm sorry,” Sam sighed.
Andrea shook her head. “You saved my son. I can't ask for more than that. Dad loved me. He loved Lucas. No matter what he did, I just have to hold on to that.”
You heard Dean talking to Lucas from behind you, and you turned around to face them as Dean spoke. “All right, if you're gonna be talking now, this is a very important phrase, so I want you to repeat it one more time.”
“Zeppelin rules!” the boy cheered.
Dean cracked a genuine grin. “That's right. Up high.”
The two boys high-fived as you, Sam, and Andrea began walking over to them.
“You take care of your mom, okay?” Dean told Lucas.
“All right.”
Andrea leaned over the open door of the Impala that Dean stood behind and pressed her lips to his.
“Thank you,” she said to him.
You rolled your eyes, pissed at him for his ability to pick up whoever he wanted.
He scratched his head, walking around to the other side of the car. “Sam, (Y/N), move your asses. We're gonna run out of daylight before we hit the road.”
You got into the seat behind Dean, waving to Andrea and Lucas who were waving back at you as Dean backed the Impala out of its parking spot.
Once you were on the road, you spoke up over the music. “Y’know, I’m not dissin’ on Zeppelin because I love them, but there were so many other amazing bands that ‘rule’ that you could’ve told Lucas about.”
Dean groaned. “Really? You’re picking a fight with me about that?”
“I’m not picking a fight, I’m giving my honest opinion,” you replied.
“Okay, well, who would you ‘ve told Lucas about?” he questioned.
“Um, how ‘bout Fleetwood Mac, Metallica, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Blondie, Black Sabbath, need I go on?”
“I cannot believe you just said Fleetwood Mac is better than Zeppelin,” he stated incredulously.
“It’s fucking Stevie Nicks, dude, of course Fleetwood’s better than Zeppelin,” you argued. “She’s a goddess.”
Dean turned left onto the Interstate, picking up the Impala’s speed. “Robert Plant’s better.”
“Yeah, no,” you responded dryly.
Instead of responding verbally, Dean put one of his Led Zeppelin tapes into the cassette player and cranked the volume up. “What’d you say? Can’t hear you over the greatest band of all time!”
For the first time since you met him, you genuinely laughed at him. “You are such an idiot!”

ENJOY!
"Dr. Y/L/N, you will be following Dr. Park Seonghwa today," your supervisor said as she finished her pep-talk of the day. Your supervisor, Dr. Long was a very kind and positive woman, always quirky and bright and she gathered her interns every morning before work to cheer them up and motivate them.
You'd been an intern for a few months and you were slowly getting used to the hard work. You vaguely knew dr. Park from several heroic stories. All the women seemed to swoon over him as they gossiped about his fine looks every day.
Pediatrics was not the field you wanted to pursue but you figured a look couldn't hurt. You met dr. Park Seonghwa right in front of room 204 and suddenly you understood why all the women gushed over his beauty.
Dr. Seonghwa was a tall man with a sleek and defined look. His hair was slightly curly, tucked behind his ear while a few front pieces fell in front of his eyes. His nose was prominent, eyes big like boba pearls and lips thick and they looked like they'd be softer than all the fluffy kittens in the world. God damn.
"H-Hi, dr. Park, I'm your intern for the day," you introduced yourself. "Right, Y/N, I got the note that you'd walk with me today. If you have any questions let me know, okay? Let's get inside now, we're here to see a ten year old boy pre-op**," Seonghwa said as he guided you into the room.
"Good morning Kang-In, you look bright this morning," Seonghwa said with a smile as he greeted the boy named Kang-In. "Thanks doc, I'm feeling uplifted, I'm finally getting my surgery today! I've waited two whole years for my new heart."
"That's right, this is Y/N, she's my intern for the day, she will do a quick exam on you to check up on your stats."
Seonghwa watched you do the exam on the boy and asked you several questions to test your knowledge and he was surprised at your smart and quick answers. You got a kick out of it, watching his impressed expression and his small nodds.
The entire day was pretty fun, Seonghwa was still quite a young doctor and he told about his job with a lot of passion which intrigued you. When you laid in the on-call room that night you couldn't sleep. All you could think of was Seonghwa, the living example of perfection.
You looked around briefly, you're all alone. Would it be horrible if you slipped your hands into your panties just for a little bit? Deciding it would be okay you took your pants off, kicking it on the floor. You opened your legs and felt the damp spot on your underwear. You closed your eyes and slid your hand in your panties, rubbing your wet folds. "Mmh doctor," you moaned softly as you rubbed your clit, coating it with your arousal.
Suddenly the door opened and revealed dr. Park, his eyes widened at the sight of your bare cunt right in front of him. He closed the door instantly and froze for a few seconds just like you. ''What the hell are you doing?'' ''U-Uhm... Just...'' you stammered, not knowing what to do when your superior walks in on you touching yourself to the thought of him. ''S-Sorry sir, fuck I just-''
''Open those legs wider, I can't see it well enough.''
You felt like your heart stopped at those words, breath hitching in your throat. ''W-What? Sir...'' ''Well you obviously wanted someone to walk in on you, so you should at least give me a good show, right?''
You bit your lip and spread your legs wider, giving him a good view on your wet cunt. ''Why give a show when you could come here and taste it?'' This sentence went straight to Seonghwa's dick and before he could hold himself back he kneeled down in front of you, eyeing your glistening wet cunt up and down ''Christ,'' he cursed underneath his breath, ''What a beautiful fucking pussy... Who got you this wet, Y/N?''
Seonghwa licked a stripe up your pussy, swirling his tongue around your clit. ''Y-You, I was thinking about you. Fuck, you're so hot doctor, you are so hot I couldn't help but think of having your cock stuffed inside me,'' you cried out. ''Fuck, you're such a little minx, I love slutty interns,'' he grunted against your pussy, lapping it up and down. His long and skillful tongue felt warm on your labia. Seonghwa's eyes stared deep into your soul, making you whimper.
''Fuck, I'll be your slutty intern, doctor,'' you moaned as Seonghwa dug his tongue deep into your core, fucking it in and out of your hole. You guessed he must fool around with all the women around here but you didn't care. In the moment you wanted nothing more than be used by him.
Your walls clenched around his tongue and you whined out his name. ''Please, it's not enough,'' you cried, ''I need your cock sir, please.'' He smirked against your pussy and lapped at your clit, sending shivers down your spine. Your hands desperately reached for his head full of curly raven locks of hair, grabbing them and pulling them slightly, making the doctor moan into your core. You wanted him badly but he would not budge, eating your pussy like a starved man.
''Fuck, you're such a good little wet slut, all for me to ruin, keep begging for my cock, princess,'' he grunted as he worked on your clit, sucking and biting on it as his nails dug into the flesh of your thighs. ''Y-Yes, yours, doctor! Y-yours to ruin!'' It was wrong, God, it was so wrong of you to sleep with him but why did it feel so good then?
Seonghwa pulled those thoughts right out of your brain again as he sucked particularly hard on your clit, making your hips buck up. You felt the familiar warmth coil in your abdomen and your body grew restless. He held you down and stopped you from moving and you couldn't do anything else but let him make you come undone.
The orgasm hit you like a truck, washing over you as you chanted his name over and over. Seonghwa rode out your high with his delicious tongue and finished it off by pressing soft kisses over your used pussy and thighs. He hurried to pull down his pants and underwear and get on top of you, lifting your legs up and letting them rest on his shoulders. Seonghwa gave you no warning as he pushed inside you, nearly folding you in half as he did.
Soon he started moving at a fast pace, the sound of skin slapping together filling the room definitely able to be heard on the other side of the door. You could swear you heard a few giggles coming from the hallway but Seonghwa didn't accept the fact that your thoughts were drifting off again. He went harder, faster and with his fingers he grabbed your chin, forcing your mouth open. He spat in your mouth and ordered you to swallow, as you did.
A cry left your lips when he suddenly seemed to have found a sensitive spot inside you, something not many of your past lovers were able to do. ''You're such a good fucking slut for me, such a cute little pussy for me to fuck. You're gonna let me do this to you often, hm? Gonna let me fuck this pussy over and over whenever I want it, right?''
You mewled at his words and could only whine and nodd your head, nothing else processing in your head. The sensitiveness of your previous orgasm was building up to a second one and before you knew it you were clenching down on his cock, coming once more for him. ''That's a fucking good slut, that's it,'' he praised you.
He fucked you roughly, seemingly chasing his own orgasm. The doctor pounded into your pussy with such force you nearly forgot how to breathe. You dug your nails into the skin of his shoulders, moaning over and over. He cursed underneath his breath and his thrusts grew sloppier. ''You're gonna let me breed this pretty pussy right? Gonna let me fill it up with my cum? You're such a good little slut, such a good little fucktoy! Fuck, take it baby, take my fucking load, that's it!''
Seonghwa came with a loud moan and his hips stilled, cum spurting deep inside you. The two of you panted softly as he pulled out and laid down next to you. Before you could say anything to him his pager went off and you sighed. He pulled his underwear and pants up and hopped off the bed. ''This isn't over yet,'' he says with a wink before exiting the on-call room.
You sighed deeply and squirmed a little, giddy with the thought of continuing later on.

Congrats on 2K Kait!!!! And this celi is gonna be so fun, but don’t stress yourself out <333
☕️☕️☕️ I’d love a drink of “carefully initiating slight intimacy (like holding hands, hugging, etc.) since they aren't quite sure how far they could go with where they are” from List D with Jake “Hangman” Seresin.
Thank you so much <33
may have strayed a little from the prompt but i hope you enjoy anyways!
jake "hangman" seresin x reader, 1.3k, join the celebration!
To make it extremely clear, you were not dating Jake Seresin.
He was one of the most remarkable people you’d ever had the pleasure of being friends with, kind and funny and braver than most folks would ever admit, but no, you weren’t dating him.
You really, really wanted to, though. You just weren’t sure if that’s what he wanted too.
Sometimes you got the feeling he did, like when Nat had caught him staring at you from behind the rim of his beer and very loudly called him out in front of everyone for unashamedly ogling you. He’d vehemently denied any said ogling with flaming red cheeks, but you noticed him doing it again three more times that same night.
Or when you went to the farmer’s market with him one Sunday morning and it was so crowded you were positive you’d lose him in the throngs of people. He slid his hand into yours that time, lacing your fingers together tightly as you tugged him to tent after tent.
Sometimes you thought about how you weren’t all that slick either.
Like that time Mickey invited you to the beach with all of them, and you got so distracted by Jake’s shirtless chest during dogfight football you nearly missed the pass he’d lobbed you. It all worked out in the end though, because when Jake’s team inevitably won, he’d hugged you and spun you around gleefully.
It was worth it to feel the press of his chest against yours.
You found yourself looking for him everywhere you went, regardless of whether he was actually there or not. You’d like to run into him at the mundane places—grocery store, laundromat, coffee shop—just so you’d be able to spend more time with him.
But those were totally platonic, good friend things to do, right?
Like always, your eyes searched for Jake as soon as you stepped into the Hard Deck tonight, scanning the packed bar for any sign of that telltale blond head of hair you wanted to see so badly.
Today especially, because you’d had one hell of a day at work. Between spilling coffee on your shirt first thing in the morning, to your shitty boss lecturing you about an error that wasn't even your fault, to hitting the worst traffic imaginable on the way home, you could really use one of his special Jake pep talks right now.
Much to your dismay, you spotted Rooster first, and although you did enjoy his presence, he wasn’t the man you were looking for. You made your way over anyways, greeting everyone as cheerfully as you could given your circumstances, still looking around for Jake.
“Hangman’s getting another round, if you wanted to put your order in.” Nat informed you, nodding towards the bar. Lo and behold, there he was a head above the rest, broad shoulders helping you spot him almost immediately. You weren’t sure how you’d missed him upon first glance.
You thanked Nat quickly, wasting no time in making your way over until you’d pushed up next to him at the bartop. Maybe a little too quickly, because your shoulder bumped against his arm a bit harshly, and his head whipped in your direction, probably an expletive at the tip of his tongue. When he saw it was just you, his expression did a complete 180, now a grin so big his eyes crinkled at the edges.
“Was wonderin’ when you’d be showin’ your face around here tonight.” His smooth, Texas twanged voice had part of the tension dropping from your shoulders. He seemed to notice because his smile dropped a little bit and he tilted his head, regarding you with those pretty green eyes you always found yourself getting lost in. “Y’alright, darlin’?”
“Yeah. Just…horrible day.” You sighed, drumming your fingers against the weathered wood. Jake raised an inquisitive brow, his invitation for you to talk about it. So you did, telling him every shitty little thing that happened since the moment you woke up to the second you pulled into the bar parking lot.
As soon as you were done, it instantly felt like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders—not all of it, but enough to the point where you didn’t feel like you were about to burst into tears at any given moment. Jake’s eyes hadn’t left yours the whole way through, keeping you tethered to him with every slow nod and brow crease.
“Sounds like you’ve had quite a time today.” He said quietly, sliding his hand over yours. His palm was calloused and warm, thumb rubbing along your knuckles soothingly. “I’m so sorry, darlin’. Wish I coulda been there for you, maybe knocked some common sense into your idiot boss.”
“Can I just—can you hug me? I really feel like I need a hug right now.” You weren't sure if that was asking too much of him, considering you didn’t quite know where the two of you stood in terms of what you were to each other, but you had to ask.
“Sure. Of course I can, c’mere.” Jake opened his arms for you as soon as the words left your mouth, letting you bury yourself against his chest like you’d done it a thousand times before.
But really, you’d never hugged Jake before. Not like this, at least. A few brief greeting hugs, thank you hugs, celebrating your win at partners beer pong at a barbeque hugs—but you'd never felt so safe in someone’s arms as you felt in Jake’s right now. They were strong, circling around you tightly, one hand smoothing up and down the length of your spine slowly, the other cradling the back of your head. You felt like you could weather a storm and still be okay here.
He smelled like laundry detergent and musky cologne when you inhaled, strong but somehow still comforting at the same time, and the cotton of his flannel shirt was soft against your cheek. When you were this close to him, you could feel the rise and fall of his chest with every breath he took, the way his breath hitched when you hugged him a little tighter than he’d expected.
And you could’ve been wrong, but you swore you could feel his heart beating a little too fast.
“Thank you, Jake. I really needed that.” You sighed, pulling away from him (a little too soon for your liking, if you were being totally honest). “Sorry if it was weird, I just—”
Jake clicked his tongue, smiling at you warmly. “Don’t be sorry, darlin’, I’m glad I could help. You can hug me anytime, alright?”
He licked his lips, clearing his throat before speaking again, voice a lot less confident than you’d ever heard it before. His cheeks were tinged pink too, maybe from the heat of the crowded bar. (Or maybe from you.) “And maybe next time you have a bad day, you can call me? We can go out for lunch or somethin’, help get your mind off the shitty things.”
“You’ll be at work, Jake.”
“The Navy does give us lunch breaks too, y’know.” He joked, giving your shoulder a gentle nudge.
“It’s still clear across town. I couldn't.”
“I’d be there in a heartbeat. I’d even take the damn jet if I had to.”
You couldn't help but let the corners of your mouth lift up into a shy smile. “Pretty sure that's illegal, Lieutenant.”
“But would you? Take me up on the lunch date?” Date. He said date. You smiled even bigger because Jake looked nervous, and he never looked nervous. You’d be lying to yourself if you weren’t enjoying the effect you seemed to be having on him right now.
“I would.”
“Good. I’m glad.” Jake gathered the beers Penny had set on the bar for him into his hands, shooting you one of those shiny, charming smiles that made you fall for him in the first place as he backpedaled towards the rest of your friends. “Maybe we can do a test run, say…tomorrow, noon? I’ll pick you up.”
“I’d love that.”
So no, you weren't dating Jake Seresin. But maybe, just maybe, after a few lunch dates, you could be.

Syncing Dream [Aespa x M!Reader]
25. First Stop
Note: Synk Road time!
Masterlist here
(I took it myself so soz for dodgy img)
The streets surrounding the Seoul concert venue were buzzing with excitement. A seemingly endless line of fans snaked around the block, each one clutching banners, light sticks, and posters of their favorite members of aespa. The sun was just beginning to set, casting a golden glow over the eager crowd as they chattered excitedly, awaiting the doors to open.
Synk Road: Parallel Line officially started today.
Inside the venue, it was a whirlwind of activity as the crew prepared the final touches on the stage. Meanwhile, backstage, Giselle was in full vlogging mode, camera in hand, narrating her behind-the-scenes tour for the aespa YouTube channel.
“And here we have the dressing room, where we have our lovely members getting ready!" Giselle said, her voice upbeat as she swung the camera around to capture the chaos inside. Karina was having her hair styled, Winter was warming up her voice in the corner, and Ningning was staring at herself in the mirror, trying out various expressions.
Like a hawk just found its prey, Giselle eyed a certain person near the catering table at the corner. Giselle panned the camera dramatically to Y/n, the culprit, clearly eyeing a bowl of chips.
“Caught in 4K!” Giselle announced loudly, zooming in on Y/n. "We have our manager on the scene!"
Y/n froze, hand halfway to the chips. He turned slowly to face Giselle and the camera, his expression one of pure guilt. “Uh... this isn’t what it looks like, MYs.”
“Sure, sure,” Giselle teased, laughing as she zoomed in further. “We’ve been working all day, and this is what our manager does while we prepare to perform?”
“I was just... checking the for poison,” Y/n said defensively, grabbing a handful of chips and stuffing them into his mouth. “Manager duties, you know?”
Giselle laughed, flipping the camera back to herself. “Our manager, everyone. Hard at work!”
She signed off the vlog with a wink before joining the others to continue getting ready. Y/n, still munching on his chips, shot her a playful glare. “You’re going to make me look like a slacker to millions of people.”
Giselle shrugged innocently. “Aren't you tho?”
"Kim Aeri, of course not." Y/n humped.
-
A few minutes later, Y/n gathered the group for their pre-show pep talk. The atmosphere was a mix of excitement and nerves, but they were more than ready. The girls stood in a loose circle, already in their stage outfits, their energy vibrating with anticipation. Y/n, still with a mischievous chip crumb on his shirt, cleared his throat, bringing the room’s attention to him.
“Alright, children,” he began, leaning against the wall casually. “First of all, ignore the chips incident. Let’s focus on the show.”
The girls laughed, and even Y/n couldn’t help but crack a smile. Once the laughter died down, he shifted into a more serious tone.
“This is a huge moment, well for me at least. You guys already had your first world tour already-”
"We know what you meannn" Ningning groaned. “Stop justifying yourself!”
"Jeez, just clarifying." Y/n continued, looking at each of them in turn. “We’re about to kick off a world tour, and it all starts here in Seoul. Everything you’ve worked for—every long night, every practice, every practice session—it’s all about to pay off tonight. You’re going to show the world why aespa is one of the best out there.”
Karina nodded, her usual calm confidence shining through. “We’ve got this.”
“We absolutely do,” Y/n agreed. “But I also want to remind you guys that, no matter what happens out there, have fun. This is what you’ve dreamed of. Don’t let the nerves or pressure get to you. Just... enjoy every second.”
Winter grinned, adjusting her earpiece. “Even if we mess up?”
“Especially if you mess up,” Y/n replied, smirking. “Because those are contents. And I'll have fun watching them.”
"Tsk. Of course." Winter chuckled.
The girls huddled together for a final cheer, their energy buzzing in the room.
“We’re ready,” Ningning said, her voice brimming with excitement.
Y/n gave them all a confident nod. “Go out there and kill it.”
"Ai-ai-aespa!!"
-
The group performances were nothing short of jaw-dropping. As soon as the girls hit the stage for the first number, "Drama," the crowd went wild. Their synchronization was perfect, each movement sharp and powerful. The fans sang along to every word, their voices blending with the pounding beat of the music. Y/n watched from backstage, his heart swelling with pride as they flawlessly executed every step.
Next up was "Black Mamba," and the energy in the arena reached new heights. Karina led the charge, her powerful voice echoing through the hall as she nailed each note with precision. Ningning’s high notes soared effortlessly above the crowd, while Winter’s confident presence drew cheers from every corner of the venue. Giselle’s rap verse hit like a tidal wave, her delivery smooth and charismatic.
As the group moved into their choreography, the crowd was on its feet, dancing along with the signature moves they’d spent weeks learning. The stage was a riot of color and light, with pyrotechnics bursting in the background, adding to the high-octane atmosphere.
But the real highlight of the night was when the group stepped off stage, and the individual solo performances began.
-
Giselle was the first to take the spotlight for her solo stage. Dressed in a sleek, black outfit that shimmered under the stage lights, she owned the stage with a charisma that captivated everyone. Her song was a sultry R&B track, showcasing her powerful vocals and flawless control. As she moved across the stage, the crowd was hypnotized, drawn in by her intensity and passion.
Basically, Gen Z in a song.
“She’s killing it,” Y/n muttered to himself, watching in awe.
Right after he said that, she accidentally twirled her microphone cord too hard, sending it flying into Ningning’s direction. Ningning, in typical fashion, caught it mid-air without breaking her expression, raising it high like a trophy. The fans went wild, and Giselle, laughing, gave Ningning a mock bow.
Next came Ningning. She emerged on stage in a alluring, girl-boss ensemble that perfectly contradict her bubbly personality. Her solo song was an chill, sultry number that had the entire audience groove in their seats. Ningning’s move was smooth, and she weaved around the stage with a such confidence that was impossible not to look at. Her vocals were, as always, stunning, and she hit every note with ease, making it seem effortless.
When it was Karina’s turn, everyone erupted with the beat. She strutted onto the stage, her outfit bold and edgy, perfectly matching her fierce and girl-crush persona. Her solo was a hard-hitting hip hop track, and she snag with such fiery intensity that had the crowd chanting her name. Karina's stage presence was undeniable, and the way she commanded the audience made it clear she was a force to be reckoned with.
Although, her in-ear monitor cut out at one point. Instead of panicking, she played it off by making exaggerated dance moves, gesturing dramatically to the crowd as if she was pulling them into an impromptu dance battle.
“Is she trying to start a riot?” Y/n muttered to himself, laughing as the crowd roared in approval.
Finally, the atmosphere shifted to something more ethereal when Winter descended to the stage. Her stage was bathed in soft blue lights, and her outfit was elegant, almost princess-like. The song she performed was an EDM track, but it was wayy too elegant to be a dance track. Her voice was soft but incredibly powerful, and the emotion behind her performance left many fans in awe. Y/n smiled as Winter sang her heart out, remembering that his childhood friend wants to defy expectations and deliver more.
As the girls finished their solo stages, the crowd was left breathless, and Y/n couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride. They’d worked so hard for this moment, and it had paid off in the best possible way.
-
Backstage, Y/n watched the monitors, grinning. Despite the minor hiccups, the show was going off without a hitch. No major malfunctions, no logistical nightmares—everything was running smoothly.
By the time the last song ended and the confetti rained down on the stage, the girls were exhausted but exhilarated. They stumbled backstage, high on adrenaline, as the crowd’s cheers echoed through the walls.
Y/n was already waiting, leaning against the door with a proud smile. “You guys….Seriously. So fcking good.”
Ningning practically collapsed onto a chair, fanning herself. “That was insane.”
Karina nodded, catching her breath. “Best first stop ever.”
Giselle, still in full vlogging mode, swung the camera around again. “And our manager didn’t mess up once. Not a single time.”
“Wow,” Winter teased, “who are you and what have you done with Y/n?”
Y/n threw up his hands dramatically. “Oh shush. I've learned this time”
Karina, always quick to play along, raised an eyebrow. “We’ll see how long that lasts.”
"3 sec-"
Before the teasing could escalate further, the door opened, and in walked members of other SM groups—Red Velvet, EXO, and even Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation—all here to congratulate aespa on the successful start to their world tour.
“Look at you guys,” Taeyeon said, beaming. “Kicking off the tour with a bang.”
Red Velvet’s Wendy nudged Y/n playfully. “You survived, huh? No more rookie mistakes?”
“Barely,” Y/n joked. “But yeah, I think I’m getting the hang of it. First time managing a world tour, you know?”
As the room filled with more laughter and celebration, Y/n couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride. The group had come so far, and he was right there with them, through all the chaos and triumphs.
-
Later that night, after most of the other artists had left, aespa and Y/n gathered in their dressing room for a final celebration. They were all sitting on the floor, surrounded by boxes of snacks—fried chicken, tteokbokki, and kimbap—when Winter decided to share a story.
“So,” she began, her voice light and nostalgic, “when I was a kid, I used to dream about this exact moment. I told my mom I was going to be on a world tour one day. And do you know what she said?”
The girls and Y/n all leaned in, curious.
“She said, ‘That’s great, but don’t forget to study just in case,’” Winter finished with a grin, causing everyone to burst out laughing.
“That’s so typical,” Giselle said, shaking her head.
"Did you study though, unnie?" Ningning asked.
"Of course not, she got her ass whooped the day after when Auntie found out she hid her math test with a giant D". Recounting the story made Y/n laughed out loud, which the girls followed. Winter could only pouted.
“And now here you are,” Karina said, smiling warmly. “Living that dream.”
Winter nodded, her eyes shining with happiness. “Yeah, I guess I am.”
They sat in comfortable silence for a moment, all reflecting on how far they’d come. Y/n looked around the room at the group, feeling a sense of peace settle over him. Despite all the teasing and chaos, this was where he belonged.
As they continued eating, Karina suddenly raised her chopsticks, pointing at Y/n. “Okay, but seriously—favorite solo song? Still Minjeong's”
The room immediately filled with groans and laughter as the girls pounced on the question. Y/n sighed, already knowing where this was going.
“Do we really have to do this again?” he asked, already bracing for the teasing.
“Oh, absolutely,” Winter said with a mischievous grin. “We need answers.”
Y/n looked around at their expectant faces before finally relenting. “Fine. It’s still the crybaby.”
The girls erupted in mock protests, with Ningning clutching her chest dramatically and Karina rolling her eyes.
“Of course it is,” Karina said, though she was smiling. “No loyalty at all.”
But Winter was grinning from ear to ear, clearly pleased with the answer. “I knew it.”
As they continued to joke and tease, Y/n felt the weight of the day melt away. The first stop of the tour was done, and it had been a massive success. Tomorrow, the world awaited—but for tonight, they were home.
-
As the night wound down, the girls began to drift off one by one. Karina was the first to call it a night, stretching her arms with a contented sigh. “I’m heading to bed. We’ve got another big day tomorrow.”
Ningning followed soon after, yawning dramatically as she stood up. “I’m not far behind. My feet are killing me.”
Winter gave Y/n a little nudge as she got up. “Don’t stay up too late, okay? You need your rest too.”
He smiled, waving her off. “Yeah, yeah, I’ll be right behind you. Get up early tomorrow, everyone.”
As the last of them shuffled off to their rooms, the dorm finally fell quiet, the post-concert excitement settling into a peaceful calm. Y/n took a deep breath, rubbing his eyes. It had been a long, exhilarating day, but there was still work to do.
Sitting at his laptop, Y/n began reviewing the bookings for the next stops on the world tour. He double-checked hotel reservations, transportation details, and local accommodations for each city. It was a meticulous process, but he wanted everything to be perfect. After all, this was his first time going overseas, and he didn’t want to mess anything up.
Just as he was about to finalize a few bookings, his phone buzzed. It was a message from Jihoon, one of the managers who had cycled through helping out while Y/n was on leave.
Jihoon:
Heard it’s your first time overseas. Check your account. A little something from me.
Y/n raised an eyebrow, curious. He quickly logged into his account, and his eyes widened in surprise. An extra allowance had been deposited—much more than he’d expected. Before he could even process it, his phone buzzed again. This time it was from Minji.
Minji:
First time going abroad, huh? Here’s a little extra for some fun. You earned it!
Y/n blinked, a little stunned. They were really doing this? A third buzz came almost immediately after—this one from Joon.
Joon:
Can’t let you experience overseas travel without some cushion. You’ll need it, trust me. Enjoy it!"
His phone buzzed one last time, and he checked it, shaking his head in disbelief. It was from the CEO himself.
CEO:
Evening, Y/n. First time traveling internationally? Make the most of it. You’ve worked hard, so this is a little thank you for taking the job and good work. Don’t worry about the girls—they’ll be in good hands while you enjoy yourself.
…"Does this mean I'm the official sugar baby now?"
Y/n sat back in his chair, letting out a long exhale, his heart full. He hadn’t expected this level of support, but it felt good—genuinely appreciated. For so long, he’d just been focused on doing his job, making sure everything ran smoothly. Now, with this extra allowance and the kindness of his colleagues, it felt like his efforts were being recognized in a way that truly mattered.
He closed his laptop, a smile playing on his lips. Tomorrow would be another long day, but for now, he could rest easy knowing that he had not only the group’s support but the backing of his fellow managers as well.
With a final glance at his phone, he stood up and stretched. Maybe tomorrow, after the concert prep, he’d start thinking about what to do with this unexpected gift. For now, though, he was ready to collapse into bed—his first overseas adventure awaited.

Fighting or Flirting?: A Series of Confusing Events (seriously. someone stop them.) - Steve Rogers x ExHydra!Male!Reader
Summary: You used to be an experiment, curated by Hydra to be a living weapon. Somewhere along the line, SHIELD saved you and decided to place you with the Avengers. As the superficial leader, Steve Rogers tried his best to welcome you. Somehow it all went downhill from there... until it didn't!
(enemies to lovers, might not be the most accurate Steve, my second fic ever so i apologize in advance.)
PART TWO: Meeting the Avengers (and your downfall... jk it's just your future bf!)
If someone were to see your expression on the car ride to the Avengers tower, they would've assumed someone had just killed your puppy. But nope, you were simply upset that you had to join the team of heroes. Were you even going to get paid for this? Probably not. You sighed, the agent who was driving paid no mind. Now, one might be questioning why you were so against joining the Avengers. If it were anyone else, they probably would've been absolutely thrilled! Who wouldn't want to be in the same space as the heroes of New York? You. That's who.
It wasn't like you had anything against them. No, quite the opposite. You admired their heroism and their desire to keep people safe. You found it noble and extremely cool. It was like something out of your comic books. The real problem was the fact that you would have to work with them. As in teamwork. As in talking to them. As in socializing and having to hold conversations.
Due to your experience at HYDRA, you knew how to do many things. Like how to intimidate and interrogate people into giving you information. How to sneak around buildings without making a sound. How to end someone's life in 74 different ways. You know, the basics! What you didn't know how to do was how to interact with other human beings. Making conversation past a basic introduction? Not your thing! Turns out that being isolated from humanity for a good portion of your life doesn't exactly do wonders for your social life. When SHIELD took you in, you were perfectly content with going on solo missions where you only had yourself to depend on. That's what most of your life has been like anyways. It wasn't anything new. You went from one set routine at HYDRA to another set routine at SHIELD, both in which you were by yourself.
Now, you were being added to a team of people who already knew each other pretty well. You would be an outsider who didn't even know how to knock on the door. You didn't know how people behaved around each other. You didn't know how to get closer to people. You had very low hopes on surviving this. You sighed once more and the agent driver ignored you and your brooding once more as well.
The tall and imposing Avengers tower stood like a mean taunt. Poor little Y/N is going to have to function like a normal human being! Let's hope they don't secretly hate you! You looked up at it and grimaced. It almost felt like the building was making fun of you and already predicting your inevitable doom.
"Maybe doom is a bit much. Oh, who am I kidding? If I'm lucky, the building will explode and I won't have to talk to anyone," you thought hopefully. You looked at the tower for a couple more seconds. No explosion. You sighed for what seemed like the hundredth time that day. Before you could decide to run away to India, you stepped into the building.
The elevator ride up to the floor you were told to go to was nerve wracking. Questions and doubts swirled inside your mind like a snowstorm trying to keep you frozen where you stood.
“What if I can't do my job properly? What if I can’t figure out how a team works? What if I trip when I step out of the elevator and that’s all they think about?” Luckily (and unluckily) for you, your thoughts were brought to a stop when the doors of the elevator opened. Taking a deep breath and giving yourself speedrun mini pep talks in your mind, you took your first step as an Avenger.
CRASH.
Several people stumbled over to the elevator and tried their hardest (and failed miserably) to look normal and stoic. Clint Barton and Tony Stark seemed to have toppled over each other in an attempt to be first. Natasha Romanoff and Bruce Banner approached in a much more orderly fashion, the former looking as though she was going to whack the first duo. Finally, the poster boy of all of America. Steve Rogers. How could someone look like a Greek statue and a golden retriever?
“So these are the Avengers… at least I didn’t trip!” you thought, feeling the most joy you could muster up from this day.
The owner of the building and the man who could probably buy your entire life with one phone call started to speak first.
"So you're the new member that Eye-Patch was telling us about! Welcome to my- our tower," Tony said in greeting, correcting himself after a sharp nudge from Natasha. You knew both Natasha and Clint since they were also SHIELD agents like yourself. You hoped that they could help you out so that you didn't actually have to talk to someone entirely knew about it.
"Yeah, I'm Y/N L/N," you answered simply. You were already off to an awkward start as you stood there, unsure of what to say. You had expected this, of course, but it felt ten times more unbearable in real life.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Steve Rogers, welcome to the team," came a kind and gentle voice.
You looked over at the source and saw Captain America himself, smiling politely. What were you supposed to say to that? You didn't want to lie and say you were happy to be here.
"Shit, should I smile back? Do I say thank you? Oh wait, a thank you sounds right..."
Hoping no one took note of your obvious silent panic and hesitance, you cleared your throat, "Uh, thank you. I hope... we can get along...?" you weren't sure if you were actually replying or asking a question. At this point, you were just relieved that you managed to say something at all.
To your surprise, the recently defrosted Super Soldier just continued smiling. It was beginning to creep you out. "I'm sure we all will. We're excited to have someone new! You should join us for lunch, Stark is taking us to some shawarma place," Steve offered, his golden boy smile seemingly glowing and radiating with his optimism.
The idea of being thrown into a group social setting right off the bat made you want to jump out of a window. You prayed to some divine being that your face didn't automatically react and show your distaste to such a plan.
"I'm okay, thank you. I'm just gonna... find my room and settle down... and stuff," Lord, you wanted to shoot yourself because of how stupid you probably sounded to them. You saw the slightest falter in Wonder Boy's face but it was gone the next milisecond.
"That's alright! You do that. We can all get together another time," he suggested. You just sort of laughed awkwardly and walked past them with your bags. You wanted nothing more than to hide in a hole and never come out.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y is gonna help you find your room!" Tony called out as the group walked over to the elevator. You turned back slightly to nod in acknowledgement, even though you had no idea who the hell 'Friday' was. As you did, you noticed that Steve was staring at you oddly. He immediately looked away when you caught him. Weird... but who were you to judge?
The elevator door closed and you let out a shaky sigh. How long would you have to repeat the tedious and torturous act of making conversation? You picked up your bags, ready to crash into a bed.
Now for future references, if anyone asked you if you screamed louder than a tornado warning siren when a disembodied, robotic voice began talking, you will deny it with your whole body and soul.
So that's who F.R.I.D.A.Y is...
A/N: This totally did not take almost a full month to make, no you're just being crazy. I don't procrastinate EVER.
Side note, I don't know why I put this off for so long. I will try my best to be a tad bit more consistent in the future.

Like with your words.” 20: “You’ll forgive me right? You always do.” 21: “Don’t you get it? I’m not going anywhere. Not without you.” 22: “Do you have to be like this, right now at this very moment?” 23: “Actually, I sleep the best when you’re around.” 24: “So… when are you going to start talking to me again?” 25: “We can afford to be late, sweetheart. Live a little, eh?” 26: “Hey - sit here!! Sit with me - I’m your favourite, right?” 27: “I can see you overthinking right now… what’s going on in there?” 28: “I’ve waited too long for you to just lie to me like that. Stop. Let me in.” 29: “I’m… I’m sorry for always talking about them.” 30: “You’re.. you really wanna do this right now? Really? Fine. Fucking fine!” 31: “Hey - hey!! What’s with that face?! OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE CAMERA — h.sh
ep. 11 — take a chance with me [𖦹 wc: 830+]
previous | masterlist | next — (listen to take a chance with me by niki for the ideal experience)
“that’s it for today guys! all of you did a great job, i can’t wait for us to start shooting tomorrow!!” the rest of the cast said their goodbyes and shuffled out of the room. wonbin shot seunghan a knowing look just as taesan wiggled his eyebrows at you before both musicians left for uni band practice for the upcoming end of year concert, followed by yizhuo who said something about having to style the band. sungchan, shotaro and eunseok said their goodbyes and filed out as well, patting seunghan on the back as they did. sohee and anton walked up to seunghan, holding back laughs as they gave him a hushed pep talk.
you were too distracted by your conversation with karina and leehan about scenes that might need to be changed to notice seunghan’s nervous glances towards you as his two younger friends left the room. as you finished your discussion with your friends and closed your binder with notes on the film, leehan looked over your head and at seunghan, giggling before leaving the room and dragging karina with him before she could say more than “have fun!”
you spun on your heel to face seunghan, “so.”
“so?”
“where are we going?”
“oh! yeah sorry. um. we’re going to kwangya cafe first, and then, would you want to see a movie?” he said, rubbing the back of his neck in nervousness as he finished his question. you looked at him, holding back a smile, “seunghan i am literally directing a movie right now. do you think i don’t like watching them?”
“oh, yeah,” he laughed in embarrassment. “the local theatre is playing pride and prejudice for its anniversary i think. i remembered you talking about it and i’ve never seen it so i got us tickets.”
your whole face lit up and seunghan was relieved.
you started talking about how much you loved the movie and how excited you were for him to see it as you packed up. he kept listening, asking questions and nodding his head. when you got to the cafe you cut off a short rant about cinematic techniques in romance so you could order, after which you said, “oh my god i’ve just been yapping about movies again. i’m so sorry.”
seunghan laughed and brushed it off, “don’t worry. it’s cute. i like listening to you.”
“oh. well. i wanna know more about you too though.”
so, the two of you delved into a conversation about his dance background, his love for pokémon, and any mutual interests the two of you shared. before you knew it the food and drinks were over and it was time for the film.
in the darkness of the small movie theatre, your elbows bumped against one another on your shared armrest every time one of you reached for the popcorn bucket in between. you kept subtly glancing over, trying to gauge the boy’s reaction to all your favourite scenes, observing as much of his expression as possible with the light from the large screen in front of you. every time you reacted to a scene—giggling when lizzie rejected mr. collins or sighing as you watched darcy’s hand flex for the 127th time in your life—seunghan would look over and wonder why he’d never tried harder to talk to you before now.
seunghan was anything but dry and boring. he launched into a mini-monologue about the movie as soon as the two of you exited the movie theatre, and you were grateful for it. You’d always felt like you were too much for people, you’d been told you talked too much and too fast about the things you loved and were too passionate about movies and making them to pay attention to real life. but you never felt like you were too much around seunghan. more and more each day you were hoping his presence in your life would become permanent, and that it wouldn’t end as soon as the short film was done.
the sky darkened as the sun set while he walked you back to your apartment. when the conversation you had been having came to a lull, you said to him, “you don’t have to do this you know? walking me back to my apartment and all.”
“oh it’s no problem, it’s on the way to my apartment anyway.”
“oh.”
“and i just wanted to,” he finished. you hummed in response, not knowing how to reply. soon, you arrived and said your goodbyes to each other. but as you turned around to open your door and he turned to leave, you spun back towards him, “seunghan?”
“yeah?”
“was this a date?” “only if you want it to be. see you tomorrow, future oscar winner,” he said with a grin, not giving you a chance to process his words and reply before leaving. The final part of his sentence only registered in your head as you walked into your apartment, the thought of it gracing your lips with a smile.
a/n: not that anyone cares but this takes place the same day as the tpwbib prologue :))

My champion — Ruben Dias
It’s all jokes and fun about the two of you dating, until Ruben sees you after winning the Champions League. He is desperate to let you know the truth.
Word count — 1k
ruben's masterlist
"You really look pretty today."
You smiled at Ruben’s sweet words. He was so loving and always made you feel special. That morning you had chosen to do something different with your hair and somehow he had been the first to tell you something and realize it. Your eyes met again and it took all your courage not to look stupid in the middle of all those people. If it were up to you, you’d forget you were working and that you had a certain role to play.
"Thank you, Ruben."
"Lovebirds, when will you openly announce that the two of you are dating?"
Jack Grealish joked, while you gave him a bad look and Ruben told him to shut up. You worked in the kitchen area, so you were in charge of going from here to there filling the players' plates and making everyone eat. It was a new job that thanks to your friend you had achieved, you could not complain, they paid you very well and you could spend your free time talking with Rubn. The thing was, the other players also noticed the way you knew each other and they made jokes about it.
If you weren’t in the kitchen, you were at the matches wearing Ruben’s jersey. You were always there to support him, so much so that almost everyone thought you and Ruben were dating. Jack Grealish always made jokes about how Ruben was nervous in your presence, but this time, the english was causing a great scene in front of his teammates and staff.
Even Pep was looking at you as if there was something entertaining. There was nothing to announce. As much as Jack found it fun to embarrass you and Ruben, neither of you had accepted your feelings.
John Stones looked at you.
"Is it true what Jack says? Are you two dating?"
"Yes, mate. They’re dating." Jack confirmed for you, being a meddler whose job it was to get into your friendship and gossip.
"Stop, dude, they’re gonna believe you. We’re not dating." You complained back and forth and Jack rolled his eyes, not believing in you for a second.
"Yes, stop with your insinuations." Ruben complained and dragged Jack away. However, you felt the heat on your cheeks growing every time someone said something about you and Ruben.
You and him dating... that could never happen, right?
A few weeks later, you traveled to Istanbul to support your friend in the most important European football championship. That Saturday the Champions League final was being played and you were very nervous about the result. You wanted City to win, but you knew the outcome was uncertain. You had had a conversation with Rubén on the phone, where he had expressed his nervousness about what might happen. However, you believed that Rubén Dias was an excellent player and that as always, he would give his maximum to support his team.
There you were, encouraging the blues among the crowd, wearing a shirt that had belonged to your friend, but had given it to you. To think that his body had touched that same cloth made you feel a heat on your cheeks, while your heart was beating like crazy. Once you saw him, you swore that he was looking for you with his eyes, although with so many people in the stadium, it was difficult for him to see you.
The match started and your nervousness increased. Your eyes did not peel away from the men running after the ball, and mainly from Rubén. You smiled every time he made a good pass or protected the goal, you felt proud of the way that no matter what happened, he gave his best.
A good time later, with the only goal of the match, Manchester City won the Champions League. You couldn’t believe it. You partied with the other fans and when it was time to give the medal to Rubén, you recorded everything with your cell phone. You were proud of him.
"Congrats, my winner!"
Rubén saw you among all the people, as you approached his side. You focused on him, he was a little sweaty but still, he was still handsome. The man could be full of mud and grass, and he was still the most handsome man you had ever seen. The portuguese rushed to get closer to you, avoiding all the people around and reaching your face in order to put his two hands around your checks. The intimacy of his touch was a new thing for both of you.
"Rubén, you—"
He kissed you. There was no time for you to say anything, the gentle brush of his lips took you by surprise. Never in your wildest dreams had you imagined that Rubén would kiss you in the midst of all those people. Maybe it was the adrenaline of the game, the happiness of having won or a combination of all those things, that had made Ruben finally fill himself with courage to do what he had had to do for a long time. In that kiss he wanted to show you everything he felt, the need to be closer to you, to taste your lips passionately.
You heard some laughter around you, you sensed that people were passing by and that some were recording your show of affection. You separated from Rubén so you could look at him, his eyes looked at you with love.
"What was that?"
"I’ve been dying to kiss you, I was so desperate. I promised myself if we won today, I would accept my feelings for you."
You wanted to tell him so many things but you were going to wait for a while to finally be alone. Meanwhile, you gave him a short kiss on the lips, a kiss that comforted the Portuguese’s heart.
"I really like you, my champion."
He smiled at your last words, "I never felt that lucky in my life."
The two of you felt someone hugging you, Jack put one arm up each. He looked at Rubén and you with that itchy smile.
"There you are, lovebirds! Is there anything you have to tell me?"
Grealish loved to make fun of you, but this time, you realized that after all, he wasn’t so wrong.

Guile & Guilt (Ch. 02)

THE NEXT DAY
The Ettrick was the best pub in town, and you could smell the spicy blend of their famous curry halfway down the block. It was close enough to Pidge’s house to walk but far enough to be a bit of a trek, and so you were trailing behind her and Hamish as you made your way out to dinner. Hamish had called up some friends, and Pidge had done the same, for a little impromptu celebration party. You were not a fan of crowds, really, but you had promised yourself (in some small secret way) that you would be the best maid of honor there ever was for your best friend. If that meant partying down at the local bar, so be it.
After bringing you and Pidge your morning coffees, Johnny had taken his Jeep and sped off somewhere, saying he “needed to clear his head.” But, even though he promised to show up to dinner tonight, you doubted he would show. Pidge had rolled her eyes and shrugged at you, expressing her doubt as well.
You weren’t supposed to be worried about him though. You needed to focus on the goal: Pidge having fun. Be fun. She needed you to be fun. Smile, or something, c’mon. Your internal pep talks exhausted you, and you grew frustrated with yourself. Surely you could stand to be in a crowd for just an evening?
Lachlan Black, Hamish’s man of honor and college roommate, was already at the restaurant. You could tell because his lime green Aventador was parked out front, covering both the street and the sidewalk and shining like a penny. Stepping around it as carefully as you would a coiled snake, you squeezed past the car, making sure not to even breathe too roughly on it.
When Hamish opened the door for you, you stepped inside to find Anjali, Bekah, and Cherise already waiting for Pidge, half-circled around Lachlan and Johnny like hungry birds - waiting to be fed more sweet nothings, you assumed. The three girls were Pidge’s friends from grammar school. They had grown up with Johnny and Pidge, and they knew them well, but they were not the most reliable bunch. If there was a party, they would turn up, but if you needed a ride to the airport, better call someone else. There was a reason none of them made the cut for maid of honor.
“Pigeon!” Johnny shouted from his end of the bar.
He had changed clothes, and he was in a half-open, rolled-sleeve button down with a pair of black canvas pants. Casual, but he looked like he was built to party. Lachlan, on the other hand, looked like he owned the party. You didn’t know what kind of fabric his clothes were made out of - probably something to do with baby alpacas - and he was shining all over. His high (surgery-induced?) cheekbones and bright blond hair made him look like a movie star, and the girls doted on him as if he was one. He had thrown an arm around Cherise, and she seemed perfectly content to be nestled there in his expensive armpit.
Johnny hugged Pidge and shook Hamish’s hand. He didn’t know what to do to you, so he just leaned back against the bar and shoved his hands in his pockets, smiling at you and mouthing the ghost of a “hey.” You did the same, matching that awkward energy and immediately regretting it.
“Hey, babes,” Lachlan smiled at you in a sort of sneer, “Aren’t you that bird from…New York?”
“Florida,” you corrected, tearing your eyes away from Johnny’s and looking hard at Hamish’s friend.
“Right, well,” he took a swig of his whisky, “All the same, innit?”
Hamish shook his hand, and then, he sort of pulled him off balance a bit to speak to him closer,
“No, mate, it isn’t.”
They laughed, but you could tell that Lachlan had been temporarily cowed.
“Good to see you again,” Cherise kissed you in the French sort of way, the imaginary cheek smooches that you were supposed to have memorized when you crossed the pond. Did you lean left first or right?
“You, too, Cherise. Glad you could come,” you tried to be as friendly as you could, but Cherise was into her own ventures and there wasn’t much that could shake her from that. She was tucked back into Lachlan’s side, trying to return herself into his missing rib. If she just squeezed in close enough, maybe…
“Can I get you a drink, from one Of Honor to the next?” Lachlan showed you his teeth again. White. Straight. Sharp.
Before you could say a word, Johnny moved in front of him and held out an outstretched hand. He gave you a full whisky cocktail, complete with an orange rind on top - something Pidge already had a copy of - and shrugged,
“Sorry, mate. You can get the next one, yeah? Here ya go, bonnie.”
The way he looked at you was meant to be dismissive, or perhaps he hadn’t meant to look at you at all. Johnny barely glanced your way, pale irises hiding under thick, dark eyelashes that then quickly fixed themselves back down at the counter. But, the look in your eyes must have called him by his name, because he found himself caught in the snare of you. His gaze met yours in a second glance and studied your skin, your cheeks, your nose, and finally your mouth, covered in sticky gloss and glitter, shining under the warm glow of the bar.
You watched him study you, his enormous Adam’s apple bobbing along his scruffy throat as he swallowed, and his face wore a mask of heightened uncertainty and… rejection? You couldn’t tell what emotion he was trying hard not to outwardly express. It was not a swoon, that was for sure. It looked as if he was concerned. You felt the blood rush to your cheeks and you broke away from him, muttering a thanks for the drink. Staring down at your hands, suddenly feeling insecure, you became hyper-aware of everything he could have seen and had apparently found wanting.
A soft hand grabbed you around the arm and pulled you in,
“C’mon,” Pidge said, “Let’s get a booth.”
You took a sip of your cocktail as you were dragged away by your friend, and the whisky stung you like a hornet. One of these would be enough to put you down, and Christ did you want to be put down.
Seeing Johnny dressed like that had been enough to shake your determination, but his look of dismissal or distaste (or whatever it was) had shattered your self-esteem. To make matters worse, you couldn’t get away from him for a single second. He had given you a drink at the bar. He walked behind you as you moved deeper into the pub, and he slid around the slick pleather crescent of the booth seat, finally sandwiching you between him and his sister - the last nail in your coffin. You could smell his cologne, a musky, woodsy scent that mixed with his earthy citrus that you knew so well. You remembered the arch of his muscular shoulders as he squeezed himself into the seat, and you could almost taste his sweet breath on your tongue as he talked over you to his sister. If you were still in grade school, you thought about having to write: “I will not fuck my best friend’s brother” five hundred times on the chalkboard - or however many it took for it to sink in. How many sticks of chalk would turn to dust just to slake your forbidden thirst?
You felt his huge thigh, warm and tight, press against your bare leg through his slacks. The thin cotton was a poor barrier, and all you could think about was the skin underneath it. Was it covered in dark coarse hair? Shaved smooth like a swimmer? Did it have black, inky tattoos or jagged scars? Sharing his heat was unimaginably difficult to deal with. Your body stirred, wondering why you were hiding your interest from him. Your traitorous heart was joyful like a bird with a juicy worm, expecting revelry and finding only cold, white-knuckled repression.
“A wee toast!” Johnny lifted his cup, smiling in that half-cocked way that he wore in all of his photos, “To Hammie and Pigeon; and whilst we thus should make our sorrows one, this happy harmony would make them none. Congratulations, sister. Slàinte mhath.”
“Slàinte mhath!” The tables’ voices rang out with proud approval.
Pidge rolled her eyes, but she wore a sweet smile,
“Thank you, Johnny boy. That was not the toast I was expectin’ from you, you weapon.”
Johnny, who had been wearing an innocent grin, turned it into a cunning one that a wolf might wear,
“Ya mean, this one?”
“No, Johnny, don’t -” Pidge tried to pull him down, reaching over you to get at his arm.
He broke through her grip as if she was a petulant child, and stood, raising his glass and his voice so that the entire pub could enjoy his toast,
“Let’s drink our drop o’ barley bree,” boisterous cheering came from the older menfolk who recognized the rhyme, “Though moon and stars should blink tae’gether, to each leal lad wi’ kilted knee…” a pause for effect prompted raucous whistles and table-pounding, “and a bonnie lass among the heather!”
Loud, jeering applause filled the cozy room, and Hammie was being shoved by his mates, blushing like a nun. Pidge cut a sharp glare at her brother, red not for shame but for fraternal rage.
You wanted to stick up for her, being stuck between them as you were. So, you put on a wry smile and raised your eyebrows to deliver your sarcasm,
“Wow, Sergeant, didn’t realize you were such a poet.”
While he was laughing and basking in the crude attention, he now paused and swiveled his head over to you, looking at you intentionally this time, and there was no second take. He laughed a little lower, and looked ruffled that you would challenge his poetic authority. He needed to save face, so he made quite a show of clearing his throat and settled himself nice and close to you before he said,
“Perhaps the bonnie lass would like to hear another?”
You noted his tone on the callback line, and you shrugged, feigning disinterest.
“Of that quality? No, thank you,” you tried to erase all traces of interest from your voice.
He was not to be deterred. Johnny’s face turned serious, and he delivered the next lines as earnestly and without satire, taking your request to heart,
“We are the Pilgrims, master; we shall go, always a little further. It may be beyond the last blue mountain barred with snow, across that angry or that glimmering sea…”
When he stopped his performance, the applause and the cheering erupted again, praising him for his fancy delivery. Thinking he’d won your little challenge, he took a big sip of his own straight whisky and grinned like a cat who caught the mouse. You snuffed it out with the frigid precision only a graduate student would possess,
“White, on a throne, or guarded in a cave,” you enunciated as clearly as you could, matching his volume, and you watched as his pompous attitude was extinguished. He froze, just like a fox caught in a trap, staring at you with wonder. You continued,
“There lives a prophet who can understand why men were born. But, surely we are brave…”
He said the last line with you, his face blank in disbelief and his voice almost a whisper,
“Who take the golden road to Samarkand.”
More cheering than before. You’d won. You borrowed his smug attitude and looked at him, sipping your drink as he did, pleased as punch. He looked wounded but blissfully happy about it. Everyone around you went back into their conversations, chittering and drinking and eating the appetizers that were waiting for you. But, Johnny kept you locked in his sights, staring back like he was seeing you again for the first time, just like when he thought you were a thief. You wondered what it was that you had stolen this time. His pride? The other bridesmaids’ admiration?
“You know Flecker?”
You nodded,
“I’m at Glasgow. Doing a bit of graduate work in poetry, actually. Shakespeare, to be specific.”
You tried to be casual about it. In truth, the “bit” of work was a mountain, and if you were being “specific”, you could talk for days and still not cover the details in full. But, normal people didn’t want to hear about that sort of thing.
Johnny was about to say something with a wide grin on his lips, but it fell as soon as Lachlan interrupted from across the booth’s table,
“My father is an Emeritus at Glasgow. He’s hardly in residence, but he could help you get into the ARG, if I put in a good word.”
There it was again, that sharpness. You smiled genuinely, refusing to be unsettled by his intrusion and his mention of the invitation-only advanced research group,
“I’m running my own research in the ARG now, actually. But, thank you. That’s very generous.”
Johnny was speechless for a moment, but there was something dark roiling around in him as he cut his eyes at Lachlan,
“Aye, mate. Very generous. Did you attend uni as well, or just your da?”
A cruel dig. Everyone knew that Lachlan hadn’t been accepted to his father’s own department. Johnny was dragging out the skeletons of his vast, walk-in closet, a dog with a bone.
Lachlan Black was not one to be bullied, though,
“I went on invitation to Oxford, actually. A full merit scholarship…”
Johnny wasn’t done playing with his food,
“Och! Of course. I've been forgetful lately. And what, uh…degree was it, then?”
Silent tension struck the table like a too-tight guitar string, ready to pop someone across the cheek. Lachlan was clearly rattled, but he recovered with ease. He took a sip of his nearly empty glass and rose as if to get a refill, reigning hellfire as he did so,
“I had already made my first million by the end of my starting year. So, I thought I’d leave the monastery to the monks, right boyo?”
Lachlan stayed standing over the table for a beat, making sure the dog he’d kicked stayed down. Johnny didn’t produce a comeback, but he was close enough to you that you could feel his body prepare itself to deliver one in a more physical format.
When Lachlan left the table, Cherise in tow, Pidge spoke across you again,
“Johnny! What’s gotten into you?”
Her brother rolled his eyes and didn’t answer. He turned his attention back to you, emboldened somehow even in defeat,
“Another round, hen?”
He pointed to your glass, and you nodded,
“Sure, but let me get it. Pidge? Do you want another?”
“Yes! And tell them to bring two tequilas. My wee brother is driving me to drink.”
“I’ll help you carry ‘em back. C’mon, then,” Johnny held his hand out to help you out of the booth, and as you slid your fingers across his palm, he grabbed it with confidence.
He led you to the other side of the bar, as far from Lachlan as he could get, and let you place the order. You sat on the stool to wait and he stood beside you, one arm on the bar and one on the back of your chair, caging you in,
“So, Shakespeare, huh?”
“Yep,” you nodded, hesitating to elaborate.
“You’re after his poems, I take it?” Johnny’s face looked like he was trying to piece together an impossible puzzle.
You sighed, steeling yourself for the ordeal of telling someone all about your project only for them to respond in the most milquetoast way. You told him,
“I’m trying to determine why Sonnet 145 has such an abnormal structure. Some scholars have even claimed that Shakespeare didn’t compose it. It’s the black sheep of the collection, and I am performing an analysis on its rhyme scheme and meter.”
“Do you know it by heart?” He asked, practically begging for a performance.
“Here are your drinks, love. Tha’s twenty pound,” the barkeep stopped you from delivering your encore.
You paid him and balanced the cups in your hand. Johnny took the majority of the burden and made his way back through the crowd with you trailing behind him.
“Ahh!” Pidge squealed with pleasure, “Shots! C’mon, babe. Show these nuggets how it’s done in America. This girl’s a real cowgirl, she is. Watch this.”
You grabbed the salt from the center of the table, shy and miffed at Pidge’s callout, and licked the meat of your thumb to wet it. You sprinkled the salt on it and reached for the lime. Then, you licked the salt, downed the shot, and sucked on the flesh of the fruit, keeping your face as straight as an arrow. Pidge clapped with joy.
“Okay, me next.”
“That’s quite the process, cowgirl,” Hamish commented, admiring your shot-taking ritual.
You didn’t have the heart to tell her that downtown Miami didn’t have any cows, but you just smiled, folding yourself back up into hiding in the booth. The conversations left you behind and your head began to swim from the alcohol. By the time everyone was ready for their next beverage, you were done. Pidge didn’t notice. She’d moved on to champagne and spritzers. You were alone in a crowded room again, as usual.
“Hey, you feelin’ alright, bonnie?”
Johnny’s voice seemed too quiet for a loud bar. You smiled weakly,
“Mmm. Just drank too much, I think.”
“C’mon. I’ll get you home.”
Before you could protest, he was helping you out of the booth and onto your feet. You heard Pidge shriek,
“Johnny! What did I say?!”
“Pigeon! Is that really what you think o’ me? Gonna tuck her in, and tha’s it. I’ll be right back.”
“I swear on Christ and -”
“Yeah, yeah, and all the actual saints. I heard you, you wee dafty. I promise. Not a hair on her head, yeah?”
“You can touch all the hairs on my head, Soap,” Bekah cackled, and the table laughed with her.
Johnny laughed too, which felt like a knife twisting in your chest for some reason. You’d forgotten all about his nickname. Everyone except Pidge used it for him. You thought it was a callsign for the military, but you’d never had to call him anything, so you didn’t remember. But, Bekah did. She called him the right name. You had failed, obviously. Put it on my tab , you thought. You screamed it in your mind, punishing yourself for your mistake: Soap, Soap, Soap…
“C’mon,” he held you by the arm, “I’m out back.”
He loaded you into his Jeep and climbed into the driver’s side, adjusting the knobs for air and music. Some early aughts alt rock was blaring too loudly, and he cut it down, apologizing under his breath. His car smelled like cigarettes and beach sand. It was cleaner than it should’ve been. You felt too hot and too cold, and you wanted to sleep, so you did.
You woke with a jolt after the short ride had ended, and he had you in his arms, nestled close to his chest. He felt you come to and he whispered,
“Shh, lass. We’re almost in. Gonna get you some water and a paracetamol, and you’ll be right as rain in the mornin’.”
“God,” you groaned, “Soap, I’m so sorry. I didn’t really eat anything, and I -”
“Tha’s fine, hen. You’re alright. We’ve all been there, trust.”
He deposited you on his bed, pulling off your shoes and tucking you in. Then, he was gone and back in a flash of your semi-unconscious state. He handed you the pills and the water. It was cool in your hot mouth.
“Here, lass. Take that for me. Tha’s it. Good girl.”
You groaned, feeling sick with drunken stupor and sick with drunken desire all at the same time.
“And, hey,” he bent his face so he was eye-level with you as you lay back down, “Call me Johnny.”

Anon who asked about the mpost/the one who had sent the tadc x wolf reader request here... Here's my new and improved version of the request!! And not on anon so I get the notification for it being completed :3
Okay so, tadc characters of your choosing (if you need specific characters then Jax, Ragatha, Caine, and Gangle) x a wolf!reader who is really shy, tends to be self deprecating, is a people pleaser, and underestimates their skills. Preferably platonic but romantic is fine!!
Caine, Ragatha, Jax and Gangle x wolf!reader who is shy w/ low confidence !
writing this then imma go work on my silly art eheheheheh unironically listening to hit my spot by ur pretty (do NOT listen to it without headphones if youre not alone it is literally gay sex song) on loop it has no reason to be so catchy gawd DAMN admins yapping aside i hope you enjoy this !! written more leaning towards platonic !!
CAINE:
i think he would try to hype you up and make you more confident in yourself! i think he would be a little confused on why you arent too.. self assured, i mean he thinks youre cool and talented and skilled and-
he could go on for hours.. i think sometimes you might cave into him and what he wants due to you being a people pleaser and it might take caine a while to catch on to that and try to pay attention to those smaller things, especially if theres something making you uncomfortable... the good thing about being a wolf is that you have ears and a tail, which do a lot in conveying how youre feeling in the moment! usually he pays attention to those things if youre the type to not like.. vocalizing your discomfort. hypes you up to everyone who will listen, stops just short of picking you up and showing you off to everyone/hj
RAGATHA:
similar to caine she uses your ears and tail as a means to gauge your internal feelings about things. ragatha is a lot more low energy and calmer compared to some of the other characters on this list... has the least issues of reading you. pulls you away if youre getting uncomfortable in any situation, and oftentimes stands up for you if someone is trying to push you something you dont actually want to do... a lot of the times those people tend to be jax.. but we'll talk about that in his part. I like to think she would try to give you little pep talks when she notices you're a little down.. makes frequent compliments to you and the things you do (skills, hobbies, ect). her room is always open to you whenever you need an escape!
JAX:
really a lot of his "coercing" is just him teasing you and, in a somewhat mean way, trying to subtly push you to get a backbone and find your limit. he wont say it or really express it, but you guys are friends and he does want to see you be able to speak for yourself... its just how he goes about it can be a little... erlrkgkh.... you know? since HES the one trying to test your boundaries and get you to snap at him. i dont think he would go as far as make fun of your hobbies and interests to make you stand up for yourself.. thats just. a smidge to mean, since youre his friend. definitely calls you wolf/dog-based nicknames, most of them dont fall into the "im trying to make you stand up for yourself" thing and more so "haha i think its funny and genuinely lighthearted"
its a little odd but there are good intentions in there
GANGLE:
she gets it, she really does... you two probably talk to one another about your problems to one another... you both find comfort in it and in a way it makes you both feel better. seeing you uncomfortable or anxious kind of empowers gangle to come and help you out, regardless of which mask shes wearing. i like to think it would to the same for you if the roles were reversed... its kind of like how you stop being anxious momentarily when you see your friend struggling and being anxious themselves and you back them up or speak for them, you know? or maybe thats just a me thing... shrugs. probably gives you bows and ribbons to put on your tail to accessorize it
