I don't need to make an AU where Zuko turns into a dragon or is a dragon bc in all aspects but physical, that's just heart of a dragon.

Mentally preparing myself to dig through my ao3 history for one specific superbat fic
(by chance any if the homies know it Bruce Wayne gets outed as like a homophobe (he's not he's just insanely deep in the closet) and he has to convince the league that he's not by slowly coming out as bi to everyone I'm pretty sure he comes out to Diana first in way of lasso)
Edit
Sadly I'm pretty sure it has been deleted I've gone thru two months worth of backlog and only had 2 deleted fics and by comparing ao3 history to my google history I'm pretty sure it was called different constellations (I pressed on the link like a dummy and its only showing as 404 error as the name now 😔)
(the other deleted fic was batman's playlist where that damn manwhore seduces superman by listening to wap on repeat during a workout)
On my knees begging ao3 authors to just orphan their works instead of deleting them please babes

Also!!! Here's some never before seen stuff about this since I remembered. This sketch was actually planned to be a full body pic but I didn't like how it was going so I just quickly slapped some colors on the upper body cause that was the only part of I liked LOL

There's also this sketch which is on the same canvas. You could say this was the original sketch before I redraw it
I actually forgot this doodle existed until I decided to poke around in the layers LOL

Anybody else know that feeling when you think about a fanfic you haven’t read in years and you want to read it again but you can’t remember the author or the title, all you know is the plot and that it was so damn good and you have no idea how to find it?

I think almost everyone's aware now but for anyone who isn't; TTCC has moved wikis.
The new wiki (please do use it) is Here !
There is also an extension to help remove fandom wikis from search results which is linked Here! There is also another extension Here that links to other independent wikis.
You can also find the reddit post about the move Here.

wait okay so now that you're seriously thinking of publishing, will you be writing a new prequel to game theory with the new 'Canon'? like the story as it's meant to have happened between gwyn, augus, terho and the nightingale, or are we just starting from game theory?
ALSO I'm so glad that you might be publishing the ftv soon for wholly selfish reasons -- you're clearly done writing about these characters, but personally I am nowhere near done reading about them, and I'm definitely not creative enough to write fanfiction myself either, so I'm just stuck rotating the characters inside my head like a microwave😭😭 it's really tough out here!!!
imagine the massive wave of new readers and the new community that's gonna come in once the story's more accessible... IT'S SO EXCITING
Hi anon!
No prequel, I'll be starting with Game Theory (and Deeper into the Woods will be published afterwards as a prequel, just as it was chronologically in general!)
Quite a bit of Game Theory is being edited and new content being added (anyone on the Gary & Efnisien tier can already see about 2,000 words of new content in the first three chapters alone, including new scene/s with Crielle), and some content being removed where it's OOC. The events with Terho and the Nightingale will be explained in Game Theory, with Gwyn likely meeting with Terho (or learning about him) a few times within.
As for Fae Tales, you know, it's nice to think there will be some new readers, and there might be like a handful or two, but there will be no massive wave. It is the least popular thing I've written in proportion to the amount of time I've put into it. Even the AUs have all generally done better proportionately.
It's one of the reasons I've never rushed to publish, honestly. It's a lot of work to put into something that you know will never financially justify itself. To the point where I think other projects are far more viable financially (Underline the Rainbow as a series I actually think would be great, because new, meaty omegaverse has a very intense (though small) fanbase and I think that series would bring more people in).
There would be no massive wave of new readers. I think we'd be lucky to see at most about 10 or 20 new folks, and I'll cherish everyone, but I'm also pretty realistic. More people find all my other works these days than Fae Tales, The Ice Plague is still one of the worst performing things I've written in proportion to length + time + work investment (despite being one of my favourite series out of anything I've written).
I think I'm realistic, and I also think there's a chance that the Fae Tales Verse if published could draw some haters. Most people don't want that level of BDSM in their epic fantasy, unless it's much lighter 'romantasy,' which Fae Tales definitely isn't. There's even a chance I might get my KDP author account suspended because of breaching content TOS/violations.
So yeah, it's a risk, but I'll take it. It's just not a risk I'm prioritising right now, because I can't see a way that the Fae Tales Verse will ever really go that far. Hand on heart, way more people who come over from my fanfiction find Falling Falling Stars and Underline and almost no one (with maybe a few exceptions - I love y'all) goes into the canon these days unless they're older / long-time readers.

the experience of writing fic for svsss has been absolutely insane so far. I posted a fic less than 24 hours ago and it already has twenty comments. I have been in so many fandoms where you have to BEG to get comments, where you'd be lucky to get more than ten comments and the ratio between hits and kudos/comments/bookmarks was vast, but so far the scum villain fandom has been super responsive! The hits/kudos/comments/bookmarks ratios have been super tight, even on my fics which have all been oneshots under 10k!
And it's not just me! I regularly see fanart for svsss fics, which was a rare sight in a lot of other fandoms I've been in. People reblog minifics that get posts to tumblr and leave tags and replies on them. I've written for a lot of fandoms in my time, and this a shocking amount of fic engagement compared to many other fandoms I've been in!!
I can't help but wonder if it's because of the nature of scum villain itself? Other people have talked about how the story uniquely appeals to writers, and it ultimately is about the relationship between a writer and reader, especially in a fan space. I can't help but wonder if the combination of this being a fandom with a high density of writers and it being a story about engaging with writing encourages a fandom culture that is super engaged with fanfiction!

Hey, on the topic of my own fic writing, I’ve got a question for my followers/fic readers.
I have a tendency to never post any of my writing, because my various unmedicated (I’m working on it) neurodivergences and mental illnesses make it very hard for me to ever finish pieces, and I feel really bad about starting a fic that someone could be really into and then potentially never finishing it when my brain suddenly decides I’m not allowed to write any more of it. So a long time ago I made it a rule for myself that I never post anything until it’s 100% finished, even if I have like multiple chapter that are perfectly ready to be published. Which ultimately leads to me never posting anything and sitting on a hoard of writing that only myself and select friends ever see.
So my question is, it more upsetting to read part of a story that might never get finished? Or to know that there’s writing out there that you don’t get to read just because it’s not finished?

FYI his stupid birthright citizenship ‘control’ laws will target ‘legal’ migration too. Right wing voters like to say ‘well we’re not unreasonable, we don’t oppose legal migration’ but that’s gone. If you’re a worker or a student on a visa (and many workers will, in fact, be on visas for a long time, a decade even, because the American system for residence—a ‘green card’—is so long that people have been in queue for years), your children born in the US will not be citizens anymore under Trump’s executive order. A child born and raised in the United States, having known no other home, is not going to be a US citizen. This is something that had been protected for decades— one of the requirements to running for president in fact is being a born citizen. Will that also change now, if people fucking born in the United States cannot be citizens of their own country?
I don’t trust right wingers one bit. ‘Oh you’re so unreasonable, you’re so paranoid’, they’ll never acknowledge that this is what republicans meant to do all along. Blur the lines between ‘legal’ and “illegal”. Make it so vague that of course people left to draw their own conclusions will go ‘not white = illegal’. They’ll never claim knowledge of what they’ve done. They’ll never stick to their word and rally to protect ‘legal’ migration, no. That goes against their milk-white christofascist panacea, doesn’t it? It’s just a bonus if everyone else suffers too.
Fight like hell for every child. Fight for every single one like they’re your own. There are no lost causes. There are no children worth leaving behind. There are no ‘illegals’ if you know what’s good for you.

if you as a fic reader ever become possessed by the urge to do a popularity bracket with the fics other people wrote and shared for fun and for free, consider:
don't ❤️
#just!!!! make a rec list!!!!!!!!!#popularity contests do nothing but drive writers out of fandoms by pitting people against their friends#and invariably result in people being assholes in the comments as if the people who wrote the fic can't see it#like ''oh clearly fic x is better than fic y''#or ''why is fic c even in this poll?''#nobody gains anything by you doing a bracket to see which fic is the ''most popular''#a stat which could be found more easily & less cruelly by simply hitting the sort by bookmarks/kudos button on ao3#anyway ugh. i saw that one of my fics was being pitted against one of my friend's fics in this bracket that's going around#and i have no idea who is ''winning'' because i refuse to look. but either way it's gonna feel bad!!!#because i want my friend to get his flowers so i want him to win!!! but i also would like to know that people like my fic!!!!#so it's just a lose/lose situation even though i generally don't give a shit about numbers#but this turns it into a schoolyard popularity thing#and the emotional response to having people *vote* on if your work is *better or worse* than other fic is hard to ignore#cannot reiterate enough JUST MAKE A REC LIST#or if you absolutely must do a bracket like this do it in a private chat server or something#don't create a public forum for people to pass value judgements where the authors can see it#and feel bad if they get told their fic is ''worse'' than someone elses#but also feel bad if they get told theirs is ''better'' because it came at the cost of telling another author they weren't good enough#ANYWAY i still feel sick with a super sore throat and a headache & am probably extra cranky because of it#(still testing negative thankfully so it's probably just weather/allergen related)#gonna go make some tea and prep the fic updates i want to post today#cass says things#fandom problems#wank adjacent

look at me. holding your head in my hands. look at me.
comment on fics. it doesnt have to be long. doesnt have to be complex. (although it would be very very appriecated) it can be a quote and a keyboard smash, or a simple heart. you got to the end of the fic spent time reading it, by the gods you can take the time to type <3 and hit enter.
love the authors you read from, and let them know you love them. new year new you and all that. it'll mean more to them that it willl to you. your already at the end anyways just scroll a liiiiitle futher. please.

its mind boggling to me that people actually look at and judge fic by the hits/kudos ratio. i cannot imagine looking at tags and a summary that interest me and then skipping it because it doesnt have enough kudos. what a privileged (JOKING) way to find fic. i feel like if i want to read anything at all i can’t afford to be that picky and its not even like this is a small fandom
