𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐮𝐞. 𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, black cat
Tumblr media Tumblr media
❝  fucked up, anxious ❞ -imperfect for you, ariana grande
Since Spencer took the subway to work everyday Isabelle gave him a ride to the bar.
According to Spencer it was the bar the team went to almost every time.
It was perfect- they had music but it wasn’t too loud, it was never super busy, and the lighting wasn’t too harsh nor too dreary.
“It’s a busy night, I guess.” Spencer commented when they walked in, there wasn’t an ambulance of people but it was definitely busy.
Emily waved the two over to a booth, on one side sat Morgan, Emily and Garcia and the other sat Isabelle, Spencer, and Jj.
Morgan handed the new addition to the team a beer and she gladly accepted while spencer denied with a disgusted look on his face.
“So Isabelle, where are you from?” Emily asked, the team hadn’t really got a chance to know Isabelle, they worked a case right after one and their minds were pre occupied by wondering how Spencer was doing.
“Oh I’m from Warrenton, it’s a small farming town just an hour away from here.” Isabelle responded.
“It’s nice that your parents are kinda close! My parents live four and a half hours away.” Jj said.
“Yeah.” Isabelle said in a flat tone, “Do you visit your parents a lot?” Asked Derek.
“No- well they don’t live there anymore.” Isabelle responded and slightly sunk into the booth.
Thankfully Spencer re directed the conversation and the group talked for a while- after an hour Jj had to return home.
Emily was currently using the restroom while Derek dragged Spencer to get drinks with him.
“I know your mom is missing too!” Garcia blurted.
Isabelle felt her heart drop, she stared into Penelope’s eyes.
“Um I-I when I was looking into your sister’s disappearance I noticed your mom is also missing too- not officially but she kinda just dropped of the face of the earth.”
“She left us.” Isabelle choked out.
“She never emptied her bank account or anything she-.”
“No offense but you weren’t there and I was, she left and probably went back to Mexico or something.”
“Probably?-“
“Here are your drinks, ladies.” Morgan announced while handing Garcia a strawberry daiquiri and Isabelle an espresso martini.
“One second, I’ll be right back” Isabelle announced just as Emily returned to her seat.
“She’s got you in a choke hold, huh?” Morgan laughed.
“What?” Spencer inquired, his voice going up an octave.
“A few days ago you were at each other’s throats, and now you’re fine so I suspect Spencer’s in love.” He said the last part in a sing songy voice.
“No, we just made up.”
“You kissed and made up?” Derek smirked.
“No we just made up.” Spencer defended and saw Emily smile, “Come one Emily! you can’t seriously believe Derek.”
“I don’t know.” She laughed.
“What we aren’t having relations whatsoever!” He protested.
“Holy shit your face is so red.” Morgan laughed.
“Awww! Baby Spence is blushing.” Garcia laughed and gently pinched his cheek.
Spencer swiped her hand away and covered his cheek.
Isabelle walked to the table, “Hey guys, I’m gonna get going.”
“Do you want me to drive you home? you had two and a half drinks.”
“Thanks but I’m fine.”
Spencer opened his mouth to object, “and for my weight 4 drinks per hour is the number of drinks need to reach an .08% BAC.” Isabelle argued but still saw worry in Spencer’s eyes.
“If you really want you can watch me walk in a straight line.” Isabelle joked.
“Okay.” Spencer said and sat back waiting for Isabelle to walk.
“I was joking, Spence.” She smiled, “I’m perfectly coherent, I’ll see you tomorrow.” She smiled and ruffled his hair.
Spencer was preoccupied watching Isabelle leave the bar to notice his co workers snickering.
He turned toward them and Morgan spoke, “Spencer you are whipped!”
“No I’m not!”
“Spencer do you even know what that means?” Emily asked and Spencer shook his head.
“Should we tell him?” Emily asked Morgan and Garcia, they both shook their heads.
“I don’t know what you guys mean but once I find out I will disapprove that accusation.”
୨୧
Isabelle did everything in her power to avoid Penelope the next day, she had almost made it, she was walking to the elevator when Penelope stopped her.
“I know you don’t want to talk about it and that’s fine! and I won’t tell anyone- I mean last time I said that I ended up telling Spencer about your sister- but that’s because I didn’t know you and I was hoping Spencer could talk with you.”
“Anyway I pinky swear this time I won’t tell anyone!” She let out a heavy breath.
“and if you ever need to talk to someone I’m here.”She smiled, “oh! and here’s a figurine for your desk!” Garcia exclaimed.
She handed Isabelle a small black cat figurine that adorned a dark red collar.
“You remind me of a black cat because you’re quiet and reserved and I noticed you wear a lot of red.”
“Did you buy this for me?”
“No, I have a bunch of different cats and dogs with different collars, that one used to have a light blue collar but I painted it red for you.”
“You painted it just for me?” Isabelle asked in disbelief, it was such a simple gesture that meant so much to Isabelle.
She engulfed Penelope in a hug, which surprised both of them, it seemed like Isabelle’s body hugged her before she could even think.
Isabelle awkwardly pulled away.
Penelope couldn’t resist smiling “You know one day I’ll give you an orange cat figure instead.”
Isabelle raised her eyebrows, “Black cats are perceived as more standoffish but orange cats are perceived as more friendly and open, one day you’ll act like that around us.”
“You’re slowly starting to become part of the family.”

(Criminal Minds) Emily Prentiss x Fem!Reader: Garcia's Bff
You were Garcia's best friend from a tech convention and she wanted you to meet her work friends from the FBI.
** I do not own the Criminal Minds characters
Y/N = Your Name
Tumblr media
Y/N's POV
You hear someone shrieking your name and you look around to find your best friend. You see Penelope Garcia waving and smiling. Omg, I missed her so much!!! I walk over to her and we immediately hug.
After Penelope and I hug, I exclaim "I brought you two small presents. I saw it and knew you had to have it. Not to mention, they fit in your purse." I hand her the bag and she opens it. It's a sparkly purple fuzzy pen and a small bobblehead of a cat for her desk. She smiles and exclaims "This is perfect. I love this so much. Okay before I get distracted ... come and meet my friends." I follow her to her friends. She exclaims "Friends, this is Y/N. She is a fellow tech expert and one of my best friends. We met at a convention where she hacked this presentation and exposed these leaders for their dirty business. They ended up in jail and no one ever knew it was her. Well, I mean except, for me, of course! I can always tell Y/N’s trademark in code." I add "Please don't spread the info. I have a good job and don't want them to fire me. If you have to tell, I understand though." They all laugh and smile. Garcia replies "Honey, we are the FBI. We won't spill. We know everyone's dirty secrets. I’ve told you this before. Nothing needs to to be worried about." I smile. Garcia then says "Okay, to your left, that is Jennifer Jareau also known as JJ." We shake hands and I say "Nice to meet you, JJ. I've heard about how great of a mother you are and how you've helped Garcia. Thanks for being a great friend to my friend." JJ replies "Aw thank you." Garcia says "Okay, next to her is Emily Prentiss who you can call whatever she wants." We shake hands and Emily Prentiss says "You can call me Emily." I reply "Well nice to meet you, Emily. I hear you traveled a lot growing up and I must say I'm slightly envious. I would love to travel more. We'll have to talk about your favorite places." Emily replies "You might be disappointed. It was hard when I was growing up. I did manage to learn multiple languages, which is now useful for my job." I reply "Wow so she's a multilingual girl. Damn, that's cool. I'm glad you have these two lovely blondes to hang out with." Garcia exclaims "Ahh Y/N, you're so sweet. You really don’t need to give everyone a compliment every time you meet one of my friends. Now let's loosen you up a little. What do you say you grab us two piña coladas?" I laugh and answer "I like what you're thinking. Do either of you ladies want a drink?" They both shake their heads.
I walk off to the bar.
Emily Prentiss' POV
I watch as Y/N walks off. She is so hot.
When Garcia said she was inviting a friend, I didn't know she would be so beautiful and funny. The way she complimented JJ and I ... stop that was so kind. I like her already.
I hear a snap and look over at Garcia who is smiling. I ask "What did you say? I didn't hear it." Garcia says "I wanted to know how you felt about Y/N. Now I see that you like her because you watched her leave with a dazed smile on your face." Shit!! JJ says "Garcia said she is bisexual. You have a chance." I ask "Wait what? There is no way she is." Garcia replies "Yes. I've even kissed her." I gasp and ask "How was it?" Garcia answers "Look at Miss Nosy over here. It was a good kiss. We got dared to kiss. We may have both been intoxicated, but it was nice. There were no sparks though and we are still friends. That never changed." I hear "Ooh who are we talking about? Spill the tea!" I jump a little and see Y/N standing there right next to me. Garcia says "We were talking about our kiss. They were asking about your sexuality." Shit, she made that super obvious that one of us was interested in her and that it was me. It's not JJ because you can see her ring and Garcia has already been there and done that.  Y/N says "Oh yeah we did kiss. There were no sparks or butterflies for me either. It's probably a good thing because I don't know what I would do if there ever was a time without Miss Penelope Garcia in my life. Yes, I am bisexual." I ask "How long have you known?" Shit, why did I ask that? Y/N faces me and answers "Since I saw Megan Fox on tv one day and thought about kissing her." I smirk and reply "I was more of a Scarlett Johansson type myself." Y/N replies "Mhmm yes she is perfect. You have great taste."
I hear "Okay time for shots ladies!!" I groan and Garcia says "We don't have work. Come on, Hotch said he wouldn't call us tomorrow." JJ says "Yeah come on Emily." I look over at Y/N who shrugs. I nod and say "Let's do this before I have second thoughts!"
The rest of the night passes by super fast. I remember dancing with Y/N on the dance floor and I remember more shots.
I wake up to my arms around Y/N and we're both in our undergarments. I feel my head start hurting and my stomach starts to flip.
I carefully get off the bed and rush to where an open door where I see a toilet. I start throwing up. I sit back and lean against the tub when I feel nothing else coming up.
The door pushes open and Y/N walks in. She makes a beeline for the toilet and starts throwing up too.
After she's done, she leans against the cabinets. She looks at me and asks "What happened last night?" I shrug and answer "The last two things I remember are shots and dancing with you." She replies "I remember that too. Gosh, look at us, two women who just slept in their underwear together." I ask "Do you think that's all we did?" She answers "I have honestly no idea. But I saw the way our clothes are out there. Mine are in my laundry hamper and yours are pretty neat on the chair. We wouldn't have paused to neatly stack our clothes if we were all over each other. At least we wouldn't have while we were drunk after taking shots on a weekday. We were probably just really warm from all of the drinks."
I suddenly remember I should be at work. I exclaim "Oh sh**! Work!" I get up and race back to the bedroom. I see my clothes on a chair and I find my phone. I check my texts. I see two from Penelope from last night. The first one was the contact info of Y/N. The second one said Have fun tonight with Y/N. You two look cute together even if it lasts one night. Please make it last longer. You deserve love and happiness. So does she. I see another one from her this morning one hour ago I covered for you. I'm picking you up to bring you to work during my lunch break. I will bring you your travel bag to change clothes. In exchange, tell me about last night!!!!!!! I want ALL of the deets!!!!!!!!
I check the time and see that her lunch break is in 20 minutes. That means she will be here well who knows where we are.
I look around and see Y/N is no longer in the bedroom or bathroom. I slide on my shirt and pants before leaving the room.
I walk out and I see Y/N in the kitchen area. She is wearing a robe and is cooking food while humming to herself. She's so cute. I walk up to her and ask "Hey Y/N? Mind if I shower in your bathroom?" She jumps a little, turns, smiles, and says "Of course. Go ahead. Towels are in the cabinets. Use whatever products you need. I have extra blouses too if you need one to borrow." I reply "Penelope is bringing me new clothes on her lunch break, but thanks." She smiles.
I leave and shower.
After my shower, I get out and wrap myself in a robe. I see my work bag outside the door and I bring it in to change into new clothes. This means that Penelope is here.
I see Penelope eating lunch with Y/N. They're laughing over a video on Penelope's phone. I ask "What are you two laughing at?" They both jump in their seats and turn around. What are they embarrassed to be watching? Penelope hands me her phone and I see myself. Penelope says "You said it was your Magic Mike impression." Oh no... I watch myself straddle Y/N and grind on her while slowly taking my shirt off. I exclaim "I am so sorry Y/N. Wow. Omg. I cannot believe I did that. Pen, why did no one stop me?" Penelope says "It was amusing to watch and it was good to see you let free." Y/N exclaims "I didn't seem to mind last night as far as I can tell." I half smile and reply "Right. Cool. Okay ... Penelope, you are here for lunch?" Penelope nods and says "Yes. Y/N made it. She's great in the kitchen and I'm sure you know where else she is great, hm?" I reply "I will one day." Shit did I say that too? This crush on Y/N has me all tongue-tied.  Penelope asks "Wait you two didn't sleep together?" Y/N says "Before Penelope asks questions, there is a plate and you can get whatever food you want, Emily. You can use the glass over there for water from the fridge too." I thank her and walk over to get food.
I hear Penelope say "You two are such a cute couple and you're not together yet. Or are you?" Y/N answers "Penelope, one does not kiss and tell." Hahahaha
I walk back over and sit down next to Y/N in the empty seat.
After lunch, Penelope hugs Y/N and tells me to be at the car in 5 or we'll be late.
I turn to Y/N and fidget with my fingers a little bit.
I exclaim "Look Y/N, I don't normally just sleep in the same bed as someone half naked within 24 hours of meeting them. It was weird for me. I guess drunk Emily trusted you... truth is, I find you attractive and kind. I like you. I would like to go on a date with you preferably with no shots." Y/N laughs and says "Yes Emily, I would like that very much. I don't sleep with people half-naked after just meeting them either. I also like you too." I smile. Y/N then asks "Is it too soon to give you a hug goodbye?" I shake my head and we hug. I then get my bag and leave.

shouted
sick day based
young jj
1K words
Tumblr media
it had been a few weeks since JJ watched Francesca die and she couldn’t get the girls scream out of her head. no matter what she did.
emily has suggested she have more time off but jj wasn’t taking it - convincing everyone she was fine. everyone else was fine so was she.
they were in the office now and it was a day of paperwork, no new cases. everyone was joking and getting along in the bullpen, but JJ felt so unbelievably vulnerable. today would have been Francesca’s birthday. no one else seemed to care. no one else did care! it made her so mad, so upset.
she blamed herself for what happened to that young girl, she couldn’t not. but all the internalised anger wasn’t healthy.
since that day, she hadn’t been little. not that the team knew that. usually she dealt with it on her own or emily would come over but emily was busier now.
“JJ,” emily said coming down the stairs. “i just sent you an email, can you get it done asap for me please?” she said, walking past. JJ gulped and nodded, opening the email.
there was something wrong on her report. about the case.
she glanced it over and felt her chest go tight. she tried looking over the words but it was too hard, she felt dizzy.
JJ pushed out her chair and turned on her heels.
“JJ, hey,” emily gasped, grabbing her wrist. the whole team were watching her.
“get off,” JJ said, shaking her arm.
“what’s wrong?” emily asked, not letting go.
“i said get off!” JJ screamed, ripping her hand away. “leave me alone! do your own stupid report! leave me alone, get out of my god damn hair emily!” she ran from the room, heading straight to her safe place. she barged in the room, not thinking to knock and slid down the door- sobbing heavily into her arms.
the whole team was shook.
“i only asked her to do a report -“ emily said, perplexed.
“today is Francesca’s birthday,” spencer told the team.
“that girl from the case a few weeks ago?” tara asked.
“oh, no wonder she’s upset-“ luke sighed. the case had upset him too but it took jj to a whole new level.
emily sighed and turned to the team. “does anyone know when she was last small?” she asked, everyone shook their heads. she grabbed a bag from under jj’s desk before heading in the direction of Garcia’s office.
“whoa, pumpkin!” garcia exclaimed, seeing the blonde curl herself up at her door. she got off the chair and huddled next to her.
“JJ,” garcia whispered, stroking the girls hair.
“i sout,” Jay sobbed, her body racking with guilt. “i sout at mama,” she shook her head over and over and penelope sighed.
“that’s okay sweetie, mama won’t mind if you were upset,” penelope told her, grabbing her hand. jay shook her head, crying heavily.
“sout is bad, i bad,” she cried.
garcia sighed again and helped jj off the floor. the girl wasn’t too cooperative but garcia knew emily would come in any minute, she had to make sure the door was free.
“sit here lovely,” penelope whispefed, setting jj in her corner. it was only a small corner, one full of drawings she’d done, a blanket, some toys as well as sensory toys. JJ cried softly, looking around it.
“what’s this, hm?” penelope gasped, holding up JJ’s favourite cat toy.
“meow,” jay whispered back, grabbing it.
“meow to you too little lady,” penelope said softly. she interacted with the young girl, making sure she was distracted and wiped her tears softly.
just as jay was going to curl into garcia’s lap, one of her favourite spots, there was a knock at the door.
“it’s only me,” prentiss said behind it.
“come in,” garcia told her but jj gasped, shaking her head. none the less, the door opened and emily slid in.
“no, no mama,” jj whimpered, pushing herself into the corner.
“hey, it’s okay baby,” emily whispered, crouching beside garcia.
“mama isn’t mad baby, she can’t be mad at your cute face,” penelope chuckled, kissing jj’s cheek as she pushed herself closer.
“i’m not mad baby. reid told me what day it is,” emily whispered, picking up one of jj’s toys. jj didn’t say anything, only lowered her head.
“why didn’t you tell me sweetheart?” emily asked after a few moments.
“i fine bout it,” she shrugged.
“you’re not fine about it jay, because this happened. mama’s told you before about communicating,” emily sighed.
“no one unstan,” jj whispered.
“it doesn’t matter if we understand darling, we need to know if you’re hurting. because mama upset you by giving you the report, if i’d known i would have asked luke to do it!” emily told her.
“b b but he okay wif it,” jj whimpered, shrugging. then it clicked to emily.
“just because someone else has been okay after a case, doesn’t mean you can’t be jay. we all have our triggers, the cases that we struggle with, you’re allowed yours too.”
“i big girl.”
“you are a big girl but emotions don’t make you any less of a big girl,” emily said. she grabbed jj’s hand.
jj put her head on garcia’s shoulder, holding her mama’s hand and her cat toy in the other.
“i sowwy i sout,” she whispered a few minutes later, looking up at em through her eyelashes.
“that’s okay baby, thank you for apologising,” emily replied. she stood up, kissed jj’s head and stretched.
“how about you head home? take garcia with you and you can have a girls day?” emily suggested.
“ooh sugar plum we can go get icecream!” garcia laughed, tickling jj slightly.
“but i a big girl, i work,” jj groaned, throwing up her hands. emily laughed and helped her baby off the floor.
“i don’t think you’re able to get much work done today darling. head home and work on a surprise for mama,” emily giggled, pulling JJ into her arms.
“pwise?” JJ asked, gently. penelope perked up.
“we can make an awesome surprise for mama! let’s head off, hm?”
a few hours later, Jay and Penelope had finished their fort and were starting on their cookies when emily came through the door.
“mama!” JJ cheered, running out of the kitchen - covered head to toe in flour, batter and eggs - she jumped straight into emily’s arms, wrapping her mama in her love.
“well hello baby!” emily laughed, planting kisses to JJ’s face. emily was so, so glad jj was feeling better. sometimes thats all she needed, a little time out.
“i wove you mama,” jj whispered, she put her head on emily’s shoulder as she walked them through the house to the kitchen.
“i love you too baby,” emily replied, smiling ear to ear at her happy girl.

Under the costume - 3/3
Summary: The team is hunting a child abuser who abducts children during the night of Halloween. They have to blend in with the locals and for that, they'll receive the help of unexpected tiny agents.
Characters: BAU team, but it's mostly Hotch and Emily, with plenty of OCs
Contents: the story happens just after Hotch divorce so it's a little bit angsty, and yet there's a lot of fluff also. TW: mention of cheating, negligence, and killing (and I think that's all).
This is a text written for the CM Autumn Air challenge organized by @imagining-in-the-margins.
PS : English is not my mother language so they are necessarily mistakes. Sorry about that.
___
They reached the police station some twenty minutes later and found the cowboy and the fairy, along with the two kids in their care, their bucket full of sweets. Spencer and Dave must have been around since Eli's daughters were present.
“Derek! JJ! Here, candies!” Ephraim yelled, running towards them with his hands full.
“But…” Morgan reacted, surprised.
“Why do you give your sweets to him?” questioned Hava, her little eyebrows furrowed in bewilderment.
“Because they lost in the search for the villain but searched anyway.”
“So what?” bounced Keren, just as confused as her older sister.
“Poppy, she says that all pain deserves reward.”
He had said this in a very serious tone, which made the liaison officer and the ex-policeman smile.
“What does that mean?” asked Keren, still confused.
“This means that if you make an effort to do something and it fails, well, you still have to get something. So, here’s some candy.”
“That is...” JJ stammered as she caught up with the treats at the last second.
“Here's some candy too!” rushed Hava, imitating her cousin.
“Yes! And for Uncle Aaron too,” exclaimed Keren turning to the titan. “And for Mrs. Agent too.”
“Emily,” Hotch corrected, accepting the offering.
“Mrs. Emily. Here.”
Suppressing a burst of laughter, the interested party collected her due. Not always at ease with children, she realized that not all miniature humans were egocentric, meddlesome bullies in short pants. In any case, these five seemed adorable.
“Wait, wait,” Derek interjected, drawing their attention. “You know who'd love to receive some candy?”
“No,” they answered in chorus.
“Her name is Penelope Garcia and she's a great, great help to us when we're out in the field.”
“Is she the computer lady?” inquired Hava.
“Uh… yes,” he confirmed, bewildered by her insight or that appellation.
“Where is she?” immediately asked the three people close to the director.
“Who is it?” interrogated the other two, thrown by this dialogue.
Morgan was about to give them an explanation, but Ephraim gave him the slip:
“She's a lady who's so good with her computer. She can do everything.”
“And she's got cat ears and glittery glasses,” added Keren.
“Where is she?” repeated the brother and sister, curious.
“She’s in Virginia,” Hotch revealed.
“Ooooh!”
Faced with this general saddened exclamation, he tried to justify himself:
“It’s easier for her to work from up there.”
“I wanted to see her,” moaned Hava, genuinely pained.
“But you can see her,” interposed the explosives expert. “Look, we gonna call her with that computer.”
All little heads turned to the laptop in question and Morgan applied the protocol to reach the analyst by videoconference. Blonde curls and a pair of black glasses topped with bright orange pumpkins appeared.
“Goldilocks is ready to listen, my little...”she declaimed before realizing she was addressing a quintet of complete strangers. “Uh… Hello.”
“Hello, Mrs. Penelope!” they greeted her together, smiling from ear to ear.
Backing away from the angle of the webcam, her colleagues watched the scene with amusement. Including the branch manager, who had regained a discreet smile. Derek leaned over to reappear in the field of the camera.
“Baby girl, I'd like you to meet tonight's acolytes. Those three are the kiddos of Hotch’s cousins.”
“Hello!” shouted the three concerned, waving their hands frantically at the screen.
“Hello, sweeties!” she replied, imitating them. “Were you happy to work with your uncle?”
“Yeah!” they cried.
“I'm the one who worked with him!” said Ephraim, proudly. “And with Emily!”
“Us, we were with the cowboy and the fairy!” the two sisters told.
JJ bowed in turn to appear before the camera.
“Long story. We will explain later.”
“You better!”
“And these little ones,” Derek pursued, “are the children of Hotch's cousin's neighbors.”
“Hello,” they said, shyer.
“Hello, angels! So, what’s it like to work for the FBI?”
“We were with a tall, thin man and the old guy,” said the little girl.
“Thanks...” grumbled Dave, who had just burst into the main room of the police station, Spencer hot on his heels.
Emily deduced that they had finished handling the paperwork with the local authorities.
“We got the bad guy!” exclaimed vividly the brother.
“Yeah!” confirmed his younger sister.
“Congratulations!”
She waved her feathered and frilly pens to make the moment even more festive. No doubt she relished this suspended moment, far from the usual horror of their work. And, to tell the truth, the innocence and joie de vivre of the five toddlers was contagious. Everyone around them had an amused smile on their lips. Including the parents, not far away, who must have been used to this kind of phenomenon.
“Actually, I was calling because they have something to tell you,” Morgan resumed.
“Yes, it's to give you candy,” announced Ephraim, sticking as close as possible to the screen.
“Derek, he said you'd want some too,” snitched Hava, pointing at the cowboy.
“But they are yours.”
“Mom, she's going to say I have too many, so I might as well give them to other people,” he said before specifying. “A little. Not everything.”
“Mum's a dentist,” Hotch revealed without moving from his seat.
In any case, his voice was loud enough to be picked up by the laptop's microphone.
“Oh. Well, can I choose?”
“Yeeees!” they all agreed, thrilled.
They almost scrambled to present their findings to the laughing ex-hacker in her Virginia office.
“Look!” shouted the little girl and Hava as they lifted their filled bucket.
“Look what we've got,” bounced Ephraim and his cousin Keren as they spread the goodies on the keyboard.
“That too!” brother and sister outbid each other as they threw more onto the pile, causing most of them to slide to the ground.
Out of the corner of her eye, Prentiss saw that their progenitors were laughing. Some of them even filmed the scene, for their own souvenir or to show the rest of the family. Penelope was beaming. Colored papers, costumes, childlike chaos, it was everything she loved.
“Ho! It all looks very appetizing, you tell me. Let’s see.”
Derek had to tilt the screen to give her a better view of what was on offer, and then she was able to quietly choose a few treats from each child. They were happy as can be when she selected one of their possessions, even if it was her lifelong accomplice who retrieved it for her. Every member of the team knew that he was really going to bring them to her, and the kids seemed to understand it too.
“And that one too. Thank you, my little birdies!”
She pretended to blow them kisses, and her audience responded in kind. Then Keren, her cheeks reddening, dared to ask the question that seemed to have been on her mind for some time.
“Uncle Aaron, he... he says you have a unicorn. Is that true?”
“Yes, it is. Look…”
Garcia reached out from the frame of her screen and folded her arm with her unicorn mug in hand. All five pairs of eyes widened.
“Oooooh!”
“And look, I've also got...” – she went snooping somewhere to the left of her desk then came back – “an octopus.”
“So good!” enthused the boys and Hava.
“And... and... and...” – she searched a drawer on her right – “a dragon!”
“Yeah!”
“I still prefer the unicorn,” Keren admitted in a tiny voice.
And the kids suddenly turned to their parents and ran in their direction, screaming at the top of their lungs.
“Mom! Dad! We want the same mugs!”
The eyes of all three couples naturally turned to the branch manager. He sighed discreetly and moved closer to the laptop to address his subordinate:
“Penelope, send me the addresses as soon as possible.”
“It’s already done, sir.”
“We'll bring your candy back soon,” Derek informed her, his hands full of sweets.
“Thanks, my love!”
All the commotion had momentarily diverted Emily's attention from what had happened earlier in the evening, but she only had to catch that glimmer of sadness in his brown eyes to remember that he wouldn't be experiencing Halloween with his son this year. What about the next year? And the years after? She crossed her fingers that Haley's anger would subside in time for him to still enjoy Jack's childhood and participate in such festivities with him.

Exercise
Prompt: “Can we please stop running? I think I’m dying.”
Setting: FBI training course (Season 9 Episode 18 "Rabid")
Request: No
POV: Y/n
Words: 848
~•~•~•~•~♡~•~•~•~•~
I don't know how long it's been since we started running but all I know is that my legs are burning from the exercise. Spencer and Penelope stop a few feet ahead of me, trying to catch their breath. Catching up to them, I fall to my knees and lay down on the grass.
"8:49. Good God that's not even close," Garcia pants, her breathing heavy
Spence comments, "Why does it have to be such a fast mile?"
"I don't know but this is the most exercise that I've had to do in my life," I complain, the warm sunlight streaming on my face.
"Have y'all ever had to run a mile in the field?" Pen questions.
"Nope," I answer, "not even close."
"I'm not even in the field," she continues, "I sit at a computer on my perfect posterior like all day."
"Maybe we should ask Morgan for help?" Spencer suggests.
"No," Garcia replies.
"Absolutely not," I say as I sit up, my muscles aching, "he'd just make it harder than it already is."
I look over at Garcia, who is trying to stifle a laugh and I playfully glare at her, "Don't even."
She shrugs and laughs, "It's not my fault you said something that can be dirty if you put the right mind to it."
I shake my head in disappointment and Spencer pants as he continues, "But he has really good abs."
I lay back down, "Amen to that."
"Yes he does, but it’s bad enough some bureaucrat is making us take this stupid test," Garcia adds, "the last thing we need it Mr. Universe talking smack the whole time."
"He does know about this stuff, but then again we're already struggling enough," I said.
"He could probably like, teach us tricks and help us train," Spencer replies.
"We aren't dogs, Spence," I chuckle then groan in pain, "oh my lungs."
"I just hope the P.T. instructor isn't a jerk," Garica states, "those jock guys are always jerks."
"Don't jinx it Pen, we don't need that kind of karma," I replied.
"Uh oh, here he comes," Penelope says as she points to the hooded man who was walking towards us, "and such a total jerk walk too."
"If that's Morgan, I swear to everything on this earth I'm gonna kill somebody," I groan, "and it's gonna be him if he makes us do more exercise."
He gets closer and of course I probably jinxed it since it's most definitely Morgan.
"Hello ladies, how we doin'?" Morgan asks.
"No offense but why are you here?" I asked.
"Looks like I'm your new P.T. instructor," he chuckles.
All three of us groan.
"Oh no, don't give me that," Morgan laughs, "you know, you guys should have said something. I could have had the whole thing waived."
"How were we supposed to know?" Spence asks.
Morgan shrugs with an evil grin on his face.
"Too late now I suppose," I sighed, "let's get this mile over with."
"You didn’t hear?" Morgan starts. "The fit test is more than a mile."
My heart sinks, You've gotta be kidding me.
"Let’s go, let's go!" Morgan encourages as he makes us do so much grueling exercise.
We had to run up and down the bleachers and do agility tests just to name a few. We still had a run to do, but my muscles burned, my body felt numb, and I could barely breathe. Spencer, Penelope, and I collapsed on the ground, our breathing heavy.
"Can we please stop running? I think I'm dying?" I complain.
"Hey, hey, what’s with all this huffin' and puffin'? We still got a 2 mile run to do," Morgan informed.
"Morgan–I love you–you know I do, but there’s no way in hell my ass is doing that today," I replied, my voice a bit hoarse from lack of air.
"What she said," Spencer added.
Morgan laughs, "Alright, I guess it's time for me to let the cat out of the bag."
My body tried to sit up to look at him, but it quickly refused, my back hitting the ground to catch my breath.
"I kinda already had your fitness test waived," he trailed off, a cheeky smile on his face.
"What?" Spencer asked, confused.
"I mean come on, Babygirl, you're not even in the field," Morgan explains, "and you guys already have enough hours to qualify."
"If my legs didn't feel like jelly, I would kill you," I stated.
"Oh I'm gonna kill him," Garcia replies trying to tackle him.
"If I can manage to lift my arms, I'll hold him down," Spencer promises.
I finally manage to sit up, "I'll join ya in a minute. I'm regaining my strength."
Well more like watch the show of Spencer and Penelope trying to chase Morgan around the field was a better pastime than actually joining in.
"Waiting for you, Y/n!" Spencer calls out.
I laugh, "Comin'!"
I get up and try my best to tackles Morgan, but Garcia manages to first and we all fall to the ground in laughter.

The One Where Penelope Finds Out
Episode 2 of The One Where Everyone Finds Out
Spencer Reid x BAUfem! Reader
And for this episode... a little highly implied Morcia action because I love it, oh so dearly. She is his God-given solace, after all.
Category: Fluff. So very fluffy.
TW: mentions of Maeve’s death, mentions of vague crimes by typical unsubs of CM, slight sexual tension, and overwhelming amounts of fluff
Hello again! I am so overwhelmingly thankful for the incredibly response to yesterday’s installment! You guys are so wonderful and lovely; thank you so much! I am back with part 2 and we are onto Miss Penelope Garcia, the absolute Queen of My Life. I hope you enjoy this part and thank you so much for the support and love yesterday!
Love you all to bits xx
Tumblr media
It’s a week after the team has come back from North Dakota and Penelope Garcia is frustrated. And she hates being frustrated. And the only thing she truly hates more than frustration is giving emotional space to negative emotions of that variety. But she can’t help it this morning, so she bustles from the kitchen to her batcave so irritated at her own frustration that it’s practically boiling off of her.
“Good morning, princess,” Derek Morgan says as Penelope passes him by, almost not hearing him.
“Good morning,” she mutters, clutching her herbal tea ever tighter in her hands. She makes it to the doorway of her batcave before a strong arm comes over her shoulder, hitting the door before she can pull it open.
“Now, princess,” Derek whispers from behind her, gently caressing her shoulder to spin her around to face him. She pouts a little. Derek would know something was off with her. Damn profilers.
“The last time I said ‘good morning, princess’ and you responded like that, we didn’t talk for almost a day and a half and you got shot by an unsub. So, what’s say we skip over all that drama and you just tell me what’s bugging you, pretty lady?” He cages her into the doorway in a way that makes her positively melt. Her smile makes him smile and he presses a kiss into her forehead. “There’s my girl! Now, tell me, what’s got your pretty panties in a twist?”
“If you must know,” she whispers, trying to school the silly grin Derek’s presence elicits, “it’s Reid.”
“Pretty Boy? What did the skinny legend do to you, Baby Girl?” He places his arms on her shoulders, running his fingers through the ends of her curled blond hair to calm her down.
“He didn’t do anything to me, Chocolate Thunder,” she amends, “he hasn’t done anything at all, actually. That’s part of the problem.”
Derek cocks an eyebrow at her and Penelope sighs, eyeing Spencer’s desk where he’s looking through files and sipping at a cup of coffee. She indicates with her chin and Derek allows himself to be pulled into her office. She sits in her chair, settling the too hot tea next to her computer as Derek leans against one of the other desks, staring her down with as much eager anticipation as she was going to get from him this early in the morning.
“I set 187 up on a date with Claudia-”
“Your new neighbor?” Derek asks, looking at her questioningly. “The one with the cats?”
“Hey, now,” she admonishes, “she’s nice. And, if anything, I thought it might just get him back into the groove of things after…” She doesn’t finish the sentence, but she doesn’t have to.
“It’s almost been a year,” Derek continues, somewhat awkwardly. “Surely, Pretty Boy-”
“See,” Penelope lights up again, “that’s what I thought!” She rolls her desk chair until she’s nearly touching Derek. “But he won’t go out with her! I feel terrible because I already told Claudia about him and she seems really into it. But also...never mind, it’s stupid.”
Derek squats in front of her rolling chair, pulling it by the armrests until her knees touch his chest in his kneeled position, “There is nothing stupid about wanting to help your friend, Baby Girl. He just needs time, you know that.”
“How much time?” Penelope whines softly, her brow furrowing adorably as she pouts. He smiles at her and leans forward, just managing to stretch far enough from the ground to kiss the furrows out of her forehead.
“Well, clearly more than we thought,” Derek replies. He jumps up from his position and presses a quick kiss to her lips. “But, right now you and I both need to get to work, okay? And how about we go out for dinner tonight?”
“Thai food?” she whispers, still a tad whiny. She just wants Reid to be happy. He’s been...more himself recently, but she knows that he’s got to be lonely at the very least. And she can’t stand the fact that one of her best friends in the entire world is living such a lonely existence.
“Anything you want, sugar,” Derek whispers, pressing another quick kiss into her hair before leaving her office. Penelope sighs deeply, rolling back over to her slightly cooled tea. She takes a sip and grimaces. She forgot the agave nectar. With another overly dramatic sigh, she rises from her chair once again, shuffling her way to her office. Derek makes eye contact with her as she exits her office, jokingly narrowing his eyes towards her until she straightens her shoulders and gives him a soft smile. He laughs to himself before returning back to his work.
Doing her best to maintain the smile on her face, Penelope continues her way to the kitchen. She hadn’t realized that both you and Spencer weren’t sitting at your desks until she nears the doorway to the kitchen.
“You smell different,” Reid’s voice says. And then she hears your laughter. There’s something about the tone of your laughter that stops her in her tracks. Something that tells her she isn’t meant to be a part of this conversation. She shoots back, flattening herself against the wall. She leans in when you start speaking.
“That’s a really weird way to tell me to put on deodorant, Spence,” your voice wafts jokingly from the kitchen.
“N-no, that’s not what I meant,” Spencer’s voice sputters.
You giggle again, continuing with the same airily joking tone, “What else am I supposed to think when you greet me by saying, ‘you smell different’? No ‘good morning, no ‘how are you today’-”
“I didn’t say you smelled bad!” Spencer’s voice exclaims, and Penelope can practically feel him blushing. “Just different. Y-you...you never smell bad, Y/N.”
“Since when do you notice what I smell like?” you ask, the teasing in your voice fairly obvious to Penelope, though she fears for Spencer’s end of this conversation, knowing that he’ll struggle to pick up on that particular social cue.
“I-I notice...I notice lots of things about you, Y/N,” Spencer replies quietly, sighing slightly. Penelope feels like the wind has been knocked out of her lungs. No wonder he didn’t want to be set up on a date! It’s quiet for a moment and Penelope holds her breath. Please be nice to him, she silently prays, hoping you get the message. As far as she’s been able to tell since you joined the team, you’re genuinely quite nice, but she also knows that, even though she loves him, Spencer’s awkwardness is a whole language within itself.
“Well, that’s good to hear,” you whisper, almost too softly for Penelope to hear.
“Really?” Spencer breathes, the hope painfully apparent in his voice.
“Yeah,” you reply, still quiet. “Because I notice lots of things about you, too.”
Her curiosity gets the better of her then and she comes out of hiding, almost missing Spencer quickly retracting his hand from where he’s just gently pushed your hair over your ear. Penelope’s so excited that she almost can’t speak, but then she sees it: neither of you know. She’s not even a profiler and it’s so obvious; the room practically reeks of it. You two love each other. A little bit, at least. A lot if she’s right, and she’s very sure she is. She can’t believe neither of you know. It’s so apparent it’s practically slapping her in the face. She realizes she still hasn’t spoken when she notices Spencer’s cheeks growing, if possible, even pinker.
“Good morning,” Penelope cries, a little too loudly to be subtle. The jolting loudness seems to make you both even more self-conscious as you both try to inconspicuously step away from each other.
“Good morning,” you say, turning away from Spencer to reach up for a coffee cup. Penelope eyes Spencer for a moment, wondering if he’ll say anything, but he drops his head, hands in his pockets as he leans against the opposite counter, eyes staring resolutely at the floor.
“I forgot my agave nectar for my tea,” Penelope says, shuffling in between the two of you. She does catch a whiff of the scent Spencer mentioned. As he’d already stated, you always smell good, but there’s definitely something different. And, unlike Spencer, apparently, she knows exactly what it is. “Y/N, my sweet angel, you smell so good; is that tea tree oil I smell?” Out of the corner of her eye, Penelope can see Spencer’s head snap up, all attention focused on you.
“Oh, thank you, Penelope. And yes, I’ve started to use it as-”
“Hand sanitizer,” Spencer interrupts, oh so quietly. The tension is back, so strong that Penelope is still floored that neither of you seem to be able to feel it.
“Yeah,” you reply, not meeting his eyes. “You, uh...we were talking about how I didn’t want to...um buy hand sanitizer anymore...I wanted something more natural and...you suggested-”
“Tea tree oil,” Spencer rasps. “I can’t believe you took my suggestion.”
“It was a really good one,” you swallow, finally looking at him. “Why wouldn’t I take the advice of a genius?”
If it wasn’t so incredibly sweet, the dramatic nature of your responses to each other (over hand sanitizer of all things) could almost be funny. But the smile threatening Penelope’s mouth isn’t because of the underlying comedy of this situation. It’s because the smile on Spencer’s face is bigger than she’s ever seen it. It’s because the grin that glows from you is just as fervent. It’s because Spencer’s awkwardness might be a language all its own, but your penchant for language seems to extend to that as well. It’s because you are in love with each other...and it’s very apparent that, somehow, neither of you know. Is this how profilers feel all the time? Knowing something deeply personal about someone without them telling you? Something they don’t even know? Penelope lets her mind wander as you excuse yourself, taking your coffee to your desk. She looks up at Spencer, whose eyes are following you to your desk and who is, she’s sure, fully unaware of just how huge his smile is right now. She allows the spoon stirring her tea to knock against the sides of the mug, bringing him back to earth without embarrassing him.
“Hey, Garcia,” he says, addressing her for the first time this morning.
“Yeah, 187?” she replies, putting her tea spoon in the sink.
“Um, I’m sorry about...uh, not letting you set me up with your n-neighbor,” he mumbles, barely able to make eye contact with her. “I know...I know that you just want to help me, but I-” She interrupts him by grabbing his upper arm and squeezing gently.
“Don’t worry about it, Junior G-Man,” she teases. “I have a feeling you’ll be just fine.” Penelope doesn’t even try to control the huge smile that grows on her face as she leaves the kitchen, fully ignoring the confused look she knows he’s shooting her. Because even though he doesn’t know it, Penelope knows he’s going to be okay. Because Spencer is in love with you.

Lies Pt.1
Tumblr media
(The gif is not mine. Whoever made this thank you and I’m sorry)
Summary: Spencer Reid and Y/n Y/L are two incredible agents with a beautiful relationship. But things get messed up when Cat Adams comes into their life.
Type: Angst.
I changed things a little bit so there’s no spoilers for those who haven’t got into this part of the serie. Probably a second part if I dont have another block. Enjoy!
Pt.2 here
Pt.3 here
...
Y/n Y/L and Spencer Reid are some of the best FBI agents the Bureau has ever had, and all of their coworkers can tell you the same. Even those cops and agents who had to work with when the case was far from home. They were always so dedicated to their work. It wasn't a surprise when they got pretty close to each other. They had a beautiful friendship.
Their coworkers and other people they had worked with can tell you they looked so in love with each other. It wasn't a secret. The way they protected each other, the way they looked at each other. In the cases, always talking and laughing around and even got to the point where they got touchy, need to feel the other warmth. Yeah, they were in love.
But yet they were too proud to say it out loud. It took two long years to finally say it out loud. They started a beautiful relationship which, in the words of the technical analysts Penelope Garcia, their relationship was the remainder for all the team that love still exists, even when sometimes all can be sadness and death, they were the ray of sun and happiness who have entered the doors of the BAU.
But like anything can be rainbows and happiness all the time, things got messed up when Cat Adams came into the couple's life. Spencer had questions, and the only person who could give him answers was her.
Y/N on her side didn't feel right talking to Cat. It wasn't because she was jealous, she wasn't like that, and even if she were, she understands that it was vital for him to talk to her. Besides, Spencer wasn't excited either. Adding the fact that she received letters from Adams while Cat was in prison.
Cat Adams was utterly obsessed with Spencer Reid, and when she found out he was dating Dr Y/L, she got furious, so she decided to make a living hell for Spencer's little girlfriend. Writing her letters, telling her how much Spencer loved Maeve and Cat, and because he couldn't have any of them, he decided to pick Y/N as a third choice.
Y/N wasn't stupid, and she understands what Cat was trying to do, but the letters never stopped. Even in those moments when she needed comfort from all the stress, Spencer never found out what was going on.
Y/n exhaled and stood from her desk and walked through the BAU hallways with a million thoughts in her head. She stood in front of the Batcave how Penelope used to call it, and knocked on the door. After a few seconds, she heard chairs wheels moving on the floor, and later soft heels steps walking closer to the door. And then the door was opened, letting Y/N see Penelope's face. She smiled at her, and Y/N smiled as well.
"Hey pumpkin, how may I help you?" She asked and stepped aside, letting her friend inside.
"I just need some light and love into this madness," Y/N said while she sits on the empty desk aside from the computers.
"Well, you came to the right place."
Garcia could sense something wasn't okay with her. She sits on her chair and looks at her friend who was playing with her rings and with the specific one that Spencer gave her on their anniversary as a promise ring. Garcia wasn't a profiler, but she knew that the reason why she was acting particularly was because of Boy Genius.
"Tell me what is bothering that pretty mind of yours." She put her hand on her knee to give her comfort cause she knew Y/L wasn't good with talking about her feelings.
"It's just all of this thing about Spencer talking with Cat, I don't know, makes me have this weird feeling in my heart."
"Are you jealous?"
"No, I'm not. I thought that maybe was the reason, but I'm not at all. It's just, I don't know Pen." She exhales, feeling frustrated because she couldn't find the right words.
Garcia gives her a sad smile. "Look, if you were jealous, you don't have to because let me tell you that boy genius is in love with you. He wouldn't cheat on you or hurt you on purpose. Besides, with Cat? That lady is hella crazy."
Y/N chuckled and smiled at her.
"Hey, you two had a party and didn't invite me?" Emily said, walking inside of the room and sitting next to Y/N.
"Well, you are already here," Pen says.
"Is everything alright? Morgan told me Spencer was coming from his little chat with Cat."
"I hope he got the answers he needs," Garcia said, looking over at Emily.
"He didn't," JJ said in the frame of the door, looking exhausted.
"How did everything go?" Y/N asks.
JJ exhaled, walking inside and sitting in front of Emily and Y/N. "It wasn't right. She got into his skin, and he got so mad. When we're driving, he didn't want to talk with anybody. And then when we got here, he went to Hotch's office." "I hope he's okay." Y/N whispers, playing with her ring again.
"Why won't you go and talk to him? He probably wants to see you." Emily says, looking at her, but she was focused on playing with her rings.
Y/N shook her head. "When he's mad, he likes to be alone. Besides, if he went to Hotch's office for a reason."
"You don't want to talk to him, do you?" Emily asked.
Y/N could feel tears in the corner of her eyes and shook her head again. "Is not for something he did, but I don't think I will help if I go with him right now. I just feel weird, you know?"
"It has to be a reason why you feel like this, honey. "Garcia said.
Y/N nod and sigh. "When Spencer and I got together, he already met Cat, and when she found out we were dating, I don't know what happened, and she started sending me letters. She used to tell me how much Spencer loved Maeve and her, and you know I got this job months after Maeve died. Obviously, Spencer told me, but the way she described everything was so weird and hurtful, besides she told me he loved her so much and the reason he was with me it was because he couldn't have any of them and I was the third choice. I know she did it because she wanted to make me mad. But, I don't know, and today she wrote to me and told me she was going to do anything in her power to have Spencer with her again."
Y/N wiped the tear going down on her cheek.
"That bitch." Garcia said, wiping her tears because watching Y/N cry, one of her best friends, hurt her.
"Spencer knows about this?" JJ asked.
"No, he doesn't. It was nothing initially, and then I couldn't find the right moment and then all the stress we had been through. I didn't think it was a good idea."
"Baby, he's your boyfriend. He needs to know." Emily said, grabbing Y/N's tight.
"I know, but I don't think this is a good time either. Please don't tell him, I will, but not now." "Your secret is safe with us," Garcia said, and Y/N smiled at her friends.
When Y/N finally felt a little bit better, she walked out of Garcia's Batcave and put herself to work.
"Hey, where were you? I was looking for you." She heard her boyfriend's voice, watching him standing beside her. She looked at him and could sense how tense he was.
"I was with Garcia. How did everything go?" She already knew the answer but still asked. She watched her boyfriend sigh. She didn't notice the cup of coffee in his hand until he put it on her desk.
"It wasn't ideal, but it could've been worse."
"I'm sorry." She said, giving him a sad smile.
"It's okay. I have to talk with you about something." She could sense he was nervous.
"Yeah?"
He looked down, not wanting to tell what he was going to. He didn't want her to feel bad, but he needs her approval.
"Cat wanted a deal. Me going on a date with her so she can tell us what we need, but I needed to ask you first because I am not going to do anything you are not comfortable with because-"Spencer started rambling.
"Spence," She stops him. "It's okay. I mean, I know how bad you need to know this, so yeah, don't worry." It wasn't okay, she didn't want him to go on a date with her, but she would be selfish if she denied it.
Spencer stared at her girlfriend, he didn't think she would agree, and he would understand why. He didn't want her going on a date with someone else too. Yet, he felt relieved.
"Are you sure?"
Y/n only nodded.
It was now the day date. Spencer tried to find Y/n before he left, he needed to see her and ask her again if she wanted him doing that, but he didn't find her. She was getting distant from him. He felt weird not having her with him. They couldn't talk about it because Spencer knew that if she needed to speak to him, she'd.
And then with his heart hurt because he couldn't find his girlfriend, he went on a date with the woman who made her girlfriend be apart from him.
Y/n was doing paperwork all day, but then she received a strange call.
"Hello?" Y/n asked.
"Y/n Y/L?" The other line asked.
"Who is this?"
"I need you to come to the direction I will send you on a message, alone, please. I need you to save me."
"Who is this?" She asked again, more confused than ever.
"Emily Johnson, please come. She said that If you come with anyone else, she is going to kill me, please. I am scared."
Emily Johnson was one of the victims they were looking for a few months before, but for reasons the team didn't know, the case got closed, declaring Emily Johnson dead. The line went dead, and Y/n didn't know what to do. She knew that she might get in trouble if she goes alone, but she might kill her if Y/n doesn't go.
She grabbed her things and walked out of the Bureau. And then she received a message with the direction. Biting her lip, Y/n got into her car and started driving.
Y/n stood in front of a brown apartment door with the number 206. She took out her gun and opened the door softly. She walked inside, closing the door behind her, watching Emily Johnson tied on a chair, tears coming down her face. When Emily watched Y/n, she started moving and tried to talk, but she couldn't because of the tape on her mouth.
Y/n walked where she was. "Hey, it's okay. Everything is okay. You're okay. It is over now." Y/n took the tape out of her mouth, and Emily started crying again.
"Thank you, thank you so much. I thought she was going to kill me."
"I need you to tell me who she is." She started taking off the string who kept her in the chair.
And then the door got open, and Y/n retook her gun, pointing to the door. Her heart got broken when she saw what was in front of her. Spencer, her boyfriend kissing Cat, with his hands on her hair. Y/n put down her gun, and then Spencer pulled away from Cat, watching her, but Cat was watching Y/n with a smile.
Spencer, confused, looked where Cat was looking, and his heart got paralyzed. There was his girlfriend, looking at them with tears in her precious eyes.
"Y/n," Spencer said with all the guilt in the world. Shaking.
"It's her! Y/n, it's her." Emily said, and Y/n came out of her shook.
"Hello, Y/n, it is so nice to see you," Cat said with a smile.
"Sadly, the feeling is not reciprocated. And it's Doctor Y/L for you, " Y/n said. She untied the girl who was shaking and took her hand. "I will return you to your parents, okay? But we need to go with someone first." The girl nodded. Y/n looked at Spencer with disgust. He looked at her with guilt, trying to figure out what to do or what to say.
"Doctor Reid, I hope you can get Cat where she belongs, unless, of course, you want to keep her." She said, walking outside. Spencer took her arm hurt at the name she just calls him. It wasn't Spence, Spencer or even Reid. "Don't touch me."
"I told you I was going to get Spencie back," Cat said.
"What is she talking about?" Spencer asked, confused.
"Doesn't matter anymore."
And then Y/n left. Spencers biggest love went thinking he cheated on her

Hi my name is • Spencer Reid (Part 1)
Tumblr media
I looked down at the text, and back up to the cafe sign. The words Tea by the Seaside looked back at me, almost daring me to enter.
I’m here, I texted Penelope.
After a second I tucked my phone away and pressed the wooden door in front of me forward, the sweet smell of honey surrounding me, welcoming me.
I looked around, my interest growing as I spotted a booth. As I slid onto the cushioned seat, my phone chimed. In a swift movement the phone was on the table, lit up, showing Penelope’s reply.
He should be there now, his name is Spencer. Also, I recommend ordering the caramel hot chocolate, it’s D-E-L-I-S-H. She responded.
I chuckled, and looked up, meeting a mans eyes. He smiled at me, hesitantly stepping closer until he was on the other side of the booth. His hands were twisting together. He was anxious.
“Sorry to interrupt you, but are you Y/N?” His hands twisted together. He was anxious.
I nodded motioning towards the empty space.
“I’m Spencer,” He greeted, taking his cardigan off at the same time.
“Y/N,” I responded, holding my hand out.
His eyes flitted down to my hand and he grimaced slightly, “It’s safer to kiss,” He stated.
I chuckled and retracted my hand, studying Spencer’s face. “Penelope warned me that you’d say that,” I laughed, meeting his eyes once again.
Up close I could see that they were hazel. The green reminding me of leaves on a palm tree, the brown almost identical to coffee beans before being roasted.
My attention broke as Spencer cleared his throat, “Are you ready to order?”
“Sure”
Spencer waved over a waitress and drew his hands together. “I’ll take a large double shot espresso,” His and the waitress’ attention turning to me.
“Just a regular caramel hot chocolate please,” I said, smiling up at the waitress.
She finished writing down the order, and bud her temporary goodbye.
“Penelope said a bit about you, but not a lot. If you wanted to elaborate more on yourself,” I aired, my hands pulling into a complicated twist , similar to the one Spencer was doing minutes earlier.
“I work with Garcia, Penelope as you call her. I actually just got back from Chicago, a big case. I have three PHD’s and am currently working on my fourth Bachelors degree. And I love coffee,” He said, finishing as our drinks were placed in front of us.
I smiled and cupped my hands around the hot chocolate. Spencer gulped his drink down in the blink of an eye and yawned.
“How long were you in Chicago for?”
“Three weeks,”
I felt my mouth drop open and I nodded. I sipped on drink, looking at Spencer’s hair. It looked so soft and fluffy, I could bet it bounced when he walked.
“Is there something in my hair?” Spencer asked, a hand coming up to slightly ruffle his hair.
I shook my head, licking the milk foam off my lips before I spoke.
“No, I was just admiring it,”
Spencer chuckled lightly and tapped his fingers together. “What do you do for a living?”
“I own an antique and book store,” I answered.
His lips pursed, nodding slightly. “I’ve never heard that from someone Garcia has asked me to go on a date with,”
A snort left my nose, and I covered my face as warmth creeped across my cheeks, “I have to admit, I’ve mellowed greatly since college, I can’t say the same for some of my other friends. But that’s what brings us together, and it’s why I appreciate them,”
“Yes, they just weren’t my type,”
“Well what is your type Spencer?”
Before he could answer, his phone began buzzing erratically. He glanced down at the phone, and began collecting his belongings.
“I’m so sorry Y/N, it’s a case,” He apologised and explained.
I waved him off, and smiled, “Catch whoever it is as fast as you can,” I paused, “Boy genius,”
Spencer laughed loudly, his head falling back. He pulled himself closer to me and pressed his lips against my ear.
“My phone number is on the napkin,” He paused, “Cat lady,”
I laughed in turn, barely noticing as he pecked my cheek. I waved goodbye as he left the cafe, smiling as he hurriedly walked out of sight.
This date seemed like it had the potential to go far.

what i think of every criminal minds character
david rossi: chaotic grandpa, defo a good cook, kinda funny sometimes, definitely a blue lives matter kinda guy, pretty old
gideon: mad man, can never predict his next move, imo the best profiler that’s been on the show, he’s like a magic man, likes birds and got shot by a guy who also likes birds
aaron hotchner: sexiest man on that show, my god is he good looking, not funny, barely smiles, always frowning, but that’s ok guy has been through a lot, bad husband but i’d still marry him tbh sexy guy
spencer reid: i would love to be his best friend, i get physically enraged when people interrupt him or make fun of him because he’s just a guy who wants to talk, some questionable hairstyles but most are alright i suppose
penelope garcia: a ray of sunshine, would be so caring if she loved you, do anything to take care of you, bakes brownies and stuff for you, she likes cats and i like cats so we’d be friends
derek morgan: annoys me sometimes but i still love him, v good at his job, been through a lot poor dude, he’s quite funny too and i appreciate that, i love his relationship with reid
sweet baby jj: the love of my life?? yes i love her. she’s so sweet, media liason jj is superior she’s so soft, but profiler jj?? badass. remember how she fought that weird bank robber to keep henry safe? cool! a good mom, definitely bisexual
emily prentiss: a lesbian. no doubt about it. it is a hate crime that emily wasn’t canonically gay. definitely had a crush on jj for years, then her and tara had a thing i know it, very funny lady, very sexy. just amazing
alex blake: my wife. i love her. she deserved better i wish there had been a deeper look into her life and stuff and what happened with strauss. because they definitely fucked. her husband was a nice guy tho. very smart lady, wish she had come back when spence was imprisoned

“i want to love someone and be loved” ; spencer reid - part 2
pairing: spencer reid (criminal minds) x f!reader
summary: spencer decides it’s time to tell you, but he needs some help. 3887 words. part 1
a/n: THIS is the longest fic ive ever written but im actually kinda proud of how it turned out? i hope this is a good sequel :)
Spencer chickens out of telling you the next day.
He avoids you all weekend, actually. You resisted texting him the day after Rossi’s because you assumed he’d be busy – with his big plan involving a girl that isn’t you. You’re not bitter – but Sunday comes around and you message him not long after you wake up and six hours later there’s no response.
Twelve hours later - there’s no response.
Monday, you don’t have time to say hello to anyone – there’s a case waiting for you, somewhere in Florida.
Reid avoids your eyes. His body language tells you something is wrong, so you assume whoever he confessed to didn’t reciprocate (they’re insane) and he’s dealing with it. So you don’t press.
Spencer pretends to sleep the entire jet ride. He’s avoiding everyone, not just you.
He spent the whole weekend beating himself up. He drove to your apartment on Saturday, sat outside for so long a neighbour knocked on his window and asked if he was lost, but couldn’t bring himself to step foot out of his car.
So he locked himself in his room, away from you and your loveliness and away from his phone because he knew you texted him and he knew you’d send some soft message about being there for him if he needs anything and he didn’t need to be reminded of how beautiful and out of reach you are.
Derek seemed to be waiting for him Monday morning, arms crossed as he held a cup of coffee. It was weird seeing him in before Spencer.
“How’d it go?” He immediately asked.
“How’d what go?” Spencer mumbles, flinging his bag on the floor by his desk. He slumps in his seat.
Derek raises a dark eyebrow, “You know what, pretty boy. You had a big thing? Big plan?”
“Didn’t work out.”
It doesn’t take a profiler to realise Spencer is very clearly saying leave me alone. Leave it alone.
Derek isn’t one to leave it alone. Especially when it comes to Spencer.
He sighs and moves a little closer to Spencer’s desk, just in case someone overhears them.
“What happened?”
“That’s exactly it,” Spencer slams open a file, “Nothing happened.”
“And why did nothing happen?”
“Because I’m an idiot that can’t even tell a girl how I feel.”
“Whoa- hey!”
Derek spins Spencer’s chair so they’re face to face. Derek takes one look in Spencer’s eyes and knows what’s going on – he got too into his head and backed out at the last minute.
“You’re not an idiot. Why didn’t you do it?”
Spencer shrugs, “I got to her apartment. I had flowers, too. I don’t know.”
Derek’s evidently concerned – Spencer’s beaten up over this, over whoever this girl is, and he deserves the chance to experience love. Spencer deserves a lot more than he himself thinks he does.
“You seemed really excited, man. You can still do it. Just cause you try once and it doesn’t work out doesn’t mean you can’t ever try again.”
Spencer stares off into the distance, accidentally ignoring Derek as his thoughts slip out of his mouth, “Yeah, it probably wouldn’t have worked anyway – I was stupid to think I could get someone like her.”
“Hey, no.” Derek nudges Spencer’s shoulder so he looks at him again, “Don’t talk like that. You’re one hell of a guy, Reid. All you gotta do is get that confidence that you had Friday night back, and you’re all set. Don’t be so hard on yourself.”
Spencer gives a feeble nod. Derek moves back to his desk, knowing he isn’t convinced, but he isn’t done yet.
+++
Later, in Florida, Spencer’s making a coffee in the precinct’s kitchen after waiting twenty minutes for you to leave. Luck’s on his side, for once, and you’ve been working non-stop with Prentiss going crime scene to crime scene so he hasn’t had to actively avoid you. You smile at him every chance you get, though, and it distracts him.
Someone clears their throat behind him. It’s Penelope, whom Spencer didn’t realise was invited on this case.
She looks guilty. Spencer recognises that face; the face she has when she’s done something she shouldn’t have or knows something she isn’t really supposed to. Given current circumstances, Spencer bets it’s the latter reason.
“Morgan told me something he shouldn’t have.”
Bingo.
He leans against the kitchen counter, stirring his coffee absentmindedly.
“What did he tell you?” He asks, feigning tranquillity. Inside he’s screaming non-stop.
She’s got her hands clasped together in front of her, almost innocently, and fiddles with her fingers, “He told me you needed assistance in the love department.” Before he can object, she continues, “And I am willing to do anything if it means our resident weirdo-slash-genius falls in love and gets to experience some much needed cuteness.”
There’s no point in lying to her. There’s also no point in being mad that Morgan told her about his situation – they’re kind of a package deal. And, who knows, Garcia might be able to help.
“So…” She sways, trying (and failing) to appear nonchalant, “Who’s the lucky lady?”
Spencer shuffles on the spot, scuffing his shoes against the floor. He debates whether he should tell her, since, you know, you’re in the next room over, but Spencer worries that Garcia is so good at her job she’d somehow find out through hacking Spencer’s phone, or maybe somehow hacking his dreams. His subconscious. He’s terrified of Garcia and her abilities.
“You can tell me.” She insists, “I’m much better at keeping secrets than Morgan.”
Spencer turns away from her, she steps closer, and he mumbles your name.
“What?”
“Y/N.”
“WHAT?!”
Spencer spins, hands coming up to tell Garcia to shut up and Garcia immediately covers her mouth in both shock and hopefully so she doesn’t shout again.
“Since when?!” She screeches. “How could I not have known?! Oh God, almighty Doctor Reid, I feel like I’ve failed you by not realising earlier.”
Her enthusiasm makes him smile, for the first time in far too long. Garcia has that power – this innate skill to comfort those around her and make them feel special, make them smile when the world feels like its collapsing.
“Let me help!” She requests.
Spencer’s clearly hesitant. He knows it’s a bad idea.
“Please!” She begs, “I just- I have so many ideas of how you can go about this. Let me brainstorm, get back to you, and if I’m too over-the-top you can tell me no and we’ll pretend it never happened!”
He takes a deep breath. Yes, Garcia is the definition of over-the-top, but that’s one of his favourite things about her. It’s your favourite thing, too. And he did tell Morgan he had big plans. Anything involving Garcia is a big plan with big payoff.
“This is between us.”
“I’ll take it to the grave. Unless you realise how amazing my ideas are and use one to tell Y/N how you feel and then years later I get to commend myself during my maid of honour speech at your wedding.”
She looks ecstatic, hands now together under her jaw as her eyes twinkle. Spencer can’t help but laugh at her eagerness.
+++
The next day, the team returns to Quantico after a semi-successful case. The general mood is good and Morgan invites everyone out for drinks – Spencer declines, but you have your first full conversation since last Friday.
“C’mon, Spence,” Your head rests against the jet seat and you blink sleepily at him, “I feel like I haven’t spoken to you for years!”
Spencer gives you a small smile, “I promised my mom I’d call her tonight. Sorry, Y/N.”
You nod in understanding, “Will you tell her I say hi?”
“Of course. She loves you.”
You grin at eachother, immediately lost in your own world. You’ve missed him more than you realised, and you have no idea what’s going through his head, but you’re happy that you’ve had this – a Spencer Reid smile that makes you feel at home and on top of the world simultaneously.
Spencer has to tear his eyes away before he blurts something stupid, like she’s not the only one that loves you.
+++
“Spencer!” Garcia greets, Cheshire cat grin on her face. “I need to see you in my dungeon, please. Immediately.”
Spencer drops the file he’s holding. Unfortunately, Penelope’s request caught the attention of the whole team.
“What business do you have in the villain’s lair, Reid?” Derek asks. You’ve looked up from your computer, Emily smirking and leaning back in her chair in expectation.
“Uh…”
“Important nerd business. Go away.” Garcia says, eyes narrow as she tugs Spencer’s hand. He’s whisked away from any further questioning, leaving the befuddled team behind.
He isn’t sure what to expect when he stumbles into Penelope’s second home, but the display in front of him explains why he overheard a conversation about missing evidence boards earlier. Penelope’s obviously been using the new printer in her cave to her advantage – there’s at least twenty different pictures printed out on one board titled “date ideas”, then the board on the right has a picture of Spencer and you in the centre with a perfectly drawn heart around it. Under and around that is a mixture of love quotes, including song lyrics and quotes directly from romantic movies. He notices “The Parliament of Fowls” on there – Garcia remembers that he mentioned it’s considered the first Valentines poem?
“Whoa,” Is all he can say.
“I know it’s a little intense,” Garcia squirms, “But! I started scrolling through Pinterest and couldn’t stop. I don’t know what came over me, maybe some type of love deity, but I started thinking about you and Y/N in a classic love film in, like, black and white and I…”
She’s out of breath from animatedly explaining.
Spencer laughs through his nose, almost a scoff, but he’s impressed. He shouldn’t have expected anything else from the Penelope Garcia.
As Spencer wanders towards the first board, Garcia follows him like a shadow, “My personal favourite is-“ She points to a picture of chocolate fondue with faceless people in very little clothing, “-this one.”
Spencer awkwardly clears his throat when he begins to think of you and him like that.
“A little much for your declaration of love, though, I get it,” Garcia nods.
He scans the board – heart speeding up when he moves from idea to idea and picturing you and him in each one. He can’t help but think no, that one would be good for our anniversary – ah, she’d love to do that one for her birthday.
“What’re you thinking?” Garcia asks quietly. She knows his brain is whirring like her computer drive, so she approaches him gently.
“This one.” He says. “Where should we do it?”
Garcia grins behind him. The one he’s referring to shows a dinner table set up outside, brown wooded table with white wooden chairs opposite eachother. There’s flowers at the centre, a bottle of wine already poured in each glass in front of a basket of cookies, and the area around is shrouded by shrubbery, fairy lights hanging delicately from every-which-way.
It’s perfect. You love fairy lights, Spencer loves cookies, and the set-up looks private enough for Spencer to feel confident when he empties his heart and soul to you.
“The roof.” Garcia says wistfully.
“We have access to that?”
“Yes.” They both know they don’t. “Leave it to me. Oh… one more thing.” She adds, hesitantly, “Can Morgan help? I’m a lot of things, including emotionally strong and your love guru, but physically I’m gonna need some assistance.”
Spencer doesn’t even need to agree – Morgan’s gonna involve himself no matter what.
+++
Five o’clock is quickly approaching and you’re slumped over your desk, lost in your work. You need to be lost in it, because ever since Garcia released Spencer from her office right after lunch he’s been sneaking glances at you (he’s not sneaky) and has made several attempts to approach you but decided against it, sharply turning and pretending he meant to go another way instead.
You are beyond confused. You assume it’s to do with the girl he’s been trying to get over – you hope he’s been trying to build the confidence to tell you exactly what happened and maybe, you really hope, he’ll invite you over for the weekend so you can slip back into your old routine.
“Psst.”
You assume they’re not trying to get your attention, so you don’t move.
“Psst!”
You still don’t move.
“Y/N!”
Your head snaps up to Spencer leaning over the divider between your desks. He looks alarmed – which is odd, given he’s the one who called you – and he opens and closes his mouth a few times before he finally speaks.
“Are you busy tonight?” He sits back and, if he wasn’t so goddamn tall, all you’d be able to see would be his eyes. His added height means you can see his eyes and his nose. You wanna kiss it.
You smile – this is an olive branch, “I am completely available for whatever it is you might need.”
You sound incredibly eager, which you are. You miss him.
His cheeks move upwards, a smile, “Can I talk to you, later, on the roof? Uh-“ He clears his throat, “-I need to tell you something.”
You raise an eyebrow, “You’re not gonna push me off, right?”
“No,” He laughs.
“Promise me.”
Now he guffaws, “I would never, Y/N!”
“Promise me, Reid!”
“Alright, alright! I promise!” He’s jokingly raising his hands in a form of surrender.
You give him another smile and turn back to your work. You feel at ease, now, thinking he’s finally gonna tell you what happened on the weekend – finally you’ll be able to help him and go back to normal.
Spencer, on the other hand, is the exact opposite of ease. He’s about to pour his heart out to you.
He takes a deep breath and looks back to his computer, which is open on a tab titled “How to Tell Someone You Like Them.”
Step 3: Be Confident.
Spencer opens a new tab and searches, “How to be confident.”
+++
Garcia hacks into Spencer’s computer to open a document and type that the roof is ready. She wishes him luck, tells him she loves him, and calls dibs on being the godmother of your future children. As if she doesn’t have enough godchildren as it is.
He clears his throat and your head snaps towards him. You’ve been done for a while, playing Tetris on your phone, waiting for Spencer to take you to the roof where he swears he won’t kill you – you’re not entirely convinced.
“Um-“ He scratches his neck, “You ready to go?”
You nod and give him a weak smile in hopes it gives him some type of reassurance.
“Whatever happened, it’s okay, Spence.”
All he does is nod in return, gathering his coat and bag. He doesn’t really register what you say, or he would’ve been very confused.
You follow him up to the roof. The elevator ride is silent and Spencer is jittery; his hands twitch and tap against his legs, he’s bouncing on his toes and he keeps looking at you through the corner of his eye. You’ve taken several deep breaths to calm your racing heart – you hate heights, and this is the closest you’ve been to Spencer in a week. This will be the longest conversation you’ve had with him in a week, too.
The second the doors open, Spencer leaps in front of you.
“Wait!”
You jump back in surprise, “What? Are you okay?”
“I’m fine. Completely fine. Just… when we get there, let me explain first, okay? Before you say anything.” He’s pleading, as if you’ve already told him no. You look at him with furrowed brows and mumble an ‘okay’.
You’re visibly confused as you trek up the flight of stairs to the roof. Spencer pushes open the fire door and the first thing you notice is how bright the roof is – you always assumed it’d be dark, little light, especially at night like this.
Wait.
There’s fairy lights… everywhere. You’re pretty sure this isn’t the norm for the FBI roof.
Spencer is equally as awed at what he sees before him - it’s exactly the photo he saw in Garcia’s cave brought to life, but he’s too distracted by you to fully appreciate it. You look like a child on Christmas; eyes wide, pupils blown, mouth slightly agape. You’re gorgeous.
“What…is this, Spence?” You wonder, noticing the set table, fingers grazing the roses that sit in a vase in the middle. They’re fresh and smell wonderful.
He stands a little behind you, fiddling with his hands, and clears his throat, “Would you like to take a seat?”
You do. When he finally sits, he pours you a glass of wine and you immediately take an anxious sip. Although Rossi is a big fan of wine, you rarely take interest in it only when Spencer’s involved. You’ve come to associate wine with him – a smile peeks out from your glass as you stare at the man opposite you.
“I need to get something off my chest. But there’s cookies, if you want one,” He picks one up from his plate, breaking it in half and giving it to you. He’s stalling, but you seem to take the bait and bite into it.
“Are these from the bakery two blocks away?”
“Yeah,” He replies, but he isn’t really paying attention. He doesn’t know where to begin.
You wait patiently for him to open up. You’re still unsure of what to make of all of this – the beautiful setting, the wine, the flowers, the lights. God, the lights are dazzling in the Virginia night sky. You need context, and you need it now.
“Spence-“
“Listen.”
“Oh.”
“Sorry, I just…” He trails off, “I need to say what I need to say before I back out again.”
You fold your hands in your lap. You’re ready for whatever’s to come.
“Do you know how long we’ve known eachother?” He asks. His head tilts like a puppy.
“Nearly five years. Our friendaversary is coming up, you know.”
You realise, then, that this must be a celebration for that – that explains the… typically romantic setting. Before you can open your mouth to ask if that what’s this is, Spencer speaks.
“Four years, three-hundred and sixty days. That’s how long we’ve known eachother.”
“If we were dating, we would’ve been my longest relationship the second we passed a year.”
You don’t know why you said it, but it flusters him. He has to pause to take a breath and collect his thoughts.
“I’ve been in love with you for four years and three hundred and fifty-eight days, Y/N.”
It’s silent as you process and he figures out how to continue.
“I knew you were special when you were introduced to us. Hotch already had such a soft spot for you, and you had this way about you that made us all fall in love instantly. I remember Garcia did a background check the second she found out your name and she said you remind her of me and I… that freaked me out, to be honest. I thought you’d try to replace me.” He huffs a laugh, but can’t bring himself to look you in the eye, “I realised I was in love with you when you drunkenly defended me. Do you remember that?” His eyes flicker to yours for half a second – you’re wide-eyed, “You’d known me for two days at that point, but we’d already done a case together so we were celebrating. And these guys at the bar were whispering about me, acting like I couldn’t hear them, and the second you realised what was happening you stood up, stormed towards them and gave them a piece of your mind. It was incredible.
“You barely knew me, at least personally, but you thought so highly of me you scolded a group of drunk bodybuilders without a second thought. You made them apologise – it was hysterical watching someone half their size force them into submission like that – and when you were done you asked if I wanted to leave and go get ice cream. We couldn’t, cause you vomited on the way there, but I knew in that moment I loved you and I feel so hard, so quickly, I didn’t know what to do. And you never… you never indicated you thought of me as anything other than a friend so I didn’t try. Then you dated Greg who, in my opinion, sucked on his best days, and you encouraged me to date Abigail and I…”
He’s run out of breath and of things to say.
“I just love you, Y/N. I’m in love with you.” He adds, “I hope that’s okay.”
He finally looks at you, then. You’re just staring and he panics when he can’t make out what you’re feeling. He’s always been able to read you, you’ve always hated the saying that eyes are the windows to the soul because your eyes are always your tell, but now they’re… glassy.
You’re crying.
“Spencer…” You gasp, throat tight.
“It’s okay.” Spencer gives a tight-lipped smile. He knows what’s coming. He should’ve expected it. He has been expecting it.
“I love you too, Spence.”
Spencer chokes on air. He takes a gulp of wine.
You give him a teary smile in disbelief, “I’ve always loved you, Spence. I thought you knew that – I thought that big brain of yours knew exactly how I felt and… you didn’t do anything about it so I thought you didn’t feel the same. Spencer…”
He slowly moves a hand to place it palm-up on the table. Immediately you place your hand in his, your grip tight as you lovingly stare at him. This feels unreal.
“I’m in love with you too, you idiot.” You half laugh, half cry, “If you’ve really loved me this long, we’ve wasted so much time! God, we’re both idiots.”
Spencer’s crying too, now, and he starts laughing with you.
You’re two idiots in love, sitting opposite eachother on the roof of your place of work in a dream-like surrounding filled with fairy lights and flowers, and you could’ve been doing this for years.
Spencer sniffles, looking at you through his wet eyelashes, “Would you like to be my girlfriend?”
“If I say yes, will I get more dates like this?” You tease.
“Well, Garcia has a whole evidence board of date ideas she stole from Pinterest. We have enough ideas to last a lifetime.” He giggles.
“Penny was in on this?!”
Spencer gives a heh, “This is all thanks to her, so yeah.”
“She’s always had our backs.”
“She’s also now going to be convinced she’s cupid.”
You laugh again, and can’t help yourself when you lean across the table, still gripping Spencer’s hand, and letting your lips fall on his. Spencer leans into you, lips moving against yours as you both try to suppress grins.
You pull back slightly, Spencer’s lips following you, and whisper, “I would love to be your girlfriend.”
He kisses you again. And again. And again, just cause he can.
Big plan, big payoff. You’re worth every little stress and more.
