Bag Spill of the day

21. November 2024 :: cute lil new companion backpack on duty. It's only 10 liters but big enough to fit my tablet. Certainly not my laptop but I try not to carry around too many things anyway. I love this color so much and I already got one compliment on how tiny this thing is.

But as you can see, it fits:

Tablet, pencil pouch (not pictured but it would go on top), bullet journal, journal-journal, e-reader (tolino shine 4), water bottle, another -pouch. Not pictured, because it's in a different little pocket: wallet and phone a bit of room to spare.

What's in my House Purse

If you haven't heard, house purses are a trend among the Kindle reading community. I don't read with a Kindle, but I recently moved to a bigger house and I like to read in a lot of places so I thought it was a good idea. The concept is basically a purse that you carry around inside your house so you don't have to get up to get things.

I might change what I end up putting in there, but here's what I have for now:

the book I'm reading (I'm currently alternating between Emma and Ulysses)

pencil and highlighter

my iPad and headphones (I like listening to audiobooks at the same time as I read)

my commonplace book and the pen I use for it

my phone

lip balm

a hair clip

a water bottle

a snack

my medication, electrolyte gummies, and an oximeter so I can check my heart rate

a fan if it's hot

a fidget of some kind

i have to keep a rubber band or rock or pen of some kind with me at all times to fidget with! i like playing with the pen cap best. it's not as loud and clicky as those pens with the springs, so i don't bother anyone when i toy with it.

i've been compulsively re-reading Interview with the Vampire, super engrossed with it at the moment.

the perfume oil is called 'Siren'. it has notes of sage, seaweed, patchouli, ginger lily, and lime. it's sort of brine-y and flowery at the same time, and super refreshing. definitely earned its name :D

i don't always carry around my old camera, but lately i have been. here's some pics of my bag that i took with it, so my phone could show up (since that's probably the thing i most consistently carry with me). it's a Lumix model DMC-FH20. i think it photographs a bit fuzzier; in general, i've found it doesn't perform very well indoors, and it creates a subtle fish eye effect (more noticeable in the first pic), but the colors are way better than my phone camera. feels more true to the what i see in person.
