What's in my House Purse

If you haven't heard, house purses are a trend among the Kindle reading community. I don't read with a Kindle, but I recently moved to a bigger house and I like to read in a lot of places so I thought it was a good idea. The concept is basically a purse that you carry around inside your house so you don't have to get up to get things.

I might change what I end up putting in there, but here's what I have for now:

the book I'm reading (I'm currently alternating between Emma and Ulysses)

pencil and highlighter

my iPad and headphones (I like listening to audiobooks at the same time as I read)

my commonplace book and the pen I use for it

my phone

lip balm

a hair clip

a water bottle

a snack

my medication, electrolyte gummies, and an oximeter so I can check my heart rate

a fan if it's hot

a fidget of some kind

i grew up in a densely populated urban neighborhood so i am obviously speaking from that experience but i think even if you live in a suburb or a small town or whatever and you feel like there's very little crime where you live then it's just objectively dumb to not lock your door. and again it takes 2 actual seconds.
