For context, I get motion sickness really easily so I can only listen to stuff for the whole 4 hours

The only podcast I regularly listen to is MBMBaM because I can't just listen to something, I have to also be doing something but I would get to distracted by what I'm doing to listen to something narrative, to the point that I completely skipped over TAZ and got into Dimension 20 instead because that at least has a visual component

The two exceptions to this are Welcome to Night Vale which is short enough that it's usually fine (that being said I started it years ago and I'm only on episode 58) and Pearlmania500 which while not like story based is very information heavy so I do have to focus on it (I used to listen to it when I played Minecraft but haven't listened in a while as I haven't played Minecraft in a while (also because spotify started putting really annoying ads on their episodes and I didn't have the money to subscribe(?) to their patreon))

For the third book of my Book Club with @zxromance I chose Confessions by Kanae Minato. I discovered this book from the @Pearlmania500 podcast Too Many Tabs. It is “Mrs. P’s Book Club 8” if anybody is interested in listening she does a really great job at breaking down the book chapter by chapter. 

Confessions by Kanae Minato is a thriller written from the perspective of multiple characters involved. I personally love this style of writing and feel that the author pulls it off really well. The novel is translated from Japanese so it was a little hard the first few pages but I caught on pretty fast and managed to finish it in one night. It’s a great representation f how grief affects people differently. The twists in this book were amazing and well written and I didn’t see any of them coming. I find it better to go into with no context to the plot but I definitely recommend it to anyone that likes thrillers.

In 2 days a bill is going to be voted on in congress called KOSA.

The KOSA law and EARN IT act could get Anime and Manga banned in the US. Due to it having “gore and violence”

It’ll also ban fanfics and any mature content.

The bill is being disguised as a way to protect minors but it will ban all of this for ALL of us. The bill states if you confirm your age you can view it, but the more you read it says that if an adult views it it will flag it and get the content taking down.

To stop this please please look at the links I’m sharing. The first link allows you to email your state representatives! Please make your own message so it won’t go to spam! It can be short (please stop KOSA)The second link is a petition and after if you submit your phone number you will get a call that will connect you to all your representatives offices, you will get a script all you have to do is read off what is said.

Let them know you are NOT okay with this! Last year we just BARELY got this bill denied. Congress is trying again this year. SPEAK UP!

Please please take this seriously. If this passes. The anime community will be DONE.

i got into anime and manga maybe 3 or 4 years ago and my home situation wasn’t the best back then. anime and manga became my escape from reality and writing/reading fics for my favorite characters has become a comfort to me. i would hate to see it all go.

contacting the reps through your email and phone number is really easy. like this person said, the message can be short and the call is scripted so you don’t really have to come up with anything on your own.
