having comorbidities that contradict/contraindicate each other is so stupid man.
you have PMDD. every time you get your period you spend the week before on the edge of a major depressive episode and lose all hope for the future. unfortunately for you, you also have PCOS, which makes Hell Week entirely unpredictable.
so you try to stabilize and predict Hell Week via birth control. but wait! you have migraines with aura! all hormonal birth control is now contraindicated for you, because it increases your risk of death.
ah, well, fuck. okay, well, you have pcos and your hormones are out of wack, let’s get those back on track. but guess what! that’s hormonal birth control again! so your testosterone stays high, and you have chronic acne now.
well, okay, let’s leave the hormones alone. let’s just deal with the acne. however the high-strength acne prescriptions cause such bad birth defects that you are almost legally required to be on some form of birth control. can you see where i’m going with this?
okay, so birth control would “solve” all your problems at the risk of maybe making one thing worse. let’s chance it. oops! you’re now horrifically depressed for a third of every month—and not just that, but your migraines did get worse, and now you’re barely functional.
fuck fuck fuck, get off that. stop taking that. go get an MRI just in case. well, i hope you enjoy migraines, because for some reason that birth control experiment did lasting damage. but don’t worry, your MRI is completely clean!
just. comorbidities, man.

Need some affirmations so: in 27 days i will be able to go on testosterone and i will become super hot and finally stop looking like a prepubescent teenager and my voice will go deeper and my vocal cords will not only thicken but also get longer and i will have fat redistribution and my face will get beautiful and i will have an easier time building muscle and my disability will get easier to manage with that and my shoulders will get broader and my boobs will deflate even more, and my hips will get smaller and i will not put so much weight on on my belly and won't look as pregnant anymore when I'm bloated and gaining weight, and my arms will get bigger, and my face will get gorgeous and how it was always supposed to look, and my skin won't be as dry anymore, and i will recognise myself in the mirror and i will become drop dead gorgeous because i finally look like a man, and I won't have people treat me like a minor anymore, and i will feel more connected to my body, and my dick will grow and i will feel much more comfortable, and once i pass and can be somewhat stealth in public women won't feel so possessive over me and what i want and need anymore and that i should feel comfortable with whatever they feel comfortable because we're both women, and i will like my own voice and i will sing so beautiful and it will finally feel natural when i sing and maybe i won't have so much trouble finding the right pitch anymore, and my ribcage won't be as small and round and i will grow more hair on my body again, and I won't have to lie about my identity and pretend I'm a woman anymore, and i will just be me, and i will meet people who didn't know me before and who won't know my deadname and who will always call me by my name, i will become known under my name,
#own post#trans#trans man#testosterone#also i will become a further bit less fertile bless me#and I won't be on fucking estrogen hrt anymore (the pill)#i was put on it for my periods but i was put on a feminising one without my knowledge or consent because they just assumed that everyone#with pcos will want to look less masculine and i didn't find out until last year and it has undone a lot of what my natural testosterone#levels had given me#fucking shit show#and I can't really go off it because my periods are pretty debilitating and changing pills for a few months isn't worth it because of the#side effects of having to adjust to new hormone stuff#such a fucking shit show

#i feel so bloody ill these days#my doctors have written everything off as pcos and just tell me to take a pill for it - which i have been but i don't think it helps#they're like 'oh just take it with food and water' (i do - no difference - i think eating/drinking actually makes things worse)#or 'oh just give it time to kick in' (i'm genuinely trying - it's supposedly a side effect-free medication lmao)#i spend every waking moment of my life on the verge of being sick and they're acting like it's completely normal!!!#hate this hate this hate this hate this hate this#moral of the story: don't get a sex-specific diagnosis it will kill a doctor's interest in helping you

my voice started changing SO fast on T like the first changes i noticed were around three weeks and now it's been like six-ish weeks on 0.3 (a pretty low dose) and my voice is noticably deeper and cracking when i try to pitch it too high. really wasn't expecting this to happen for like a year im really pleased :)
#it's very on and off though like one day ill sound totally normal#another one ill be much deeper and unable to pitch up and have a bit of a sore throat#but it's consistently happening to where im sure its the T and ppl are noticing the change#by probably next year i think i will sound like a man consistently. very happy!!!#a side effect is that i sound gay as hell and i imagine this will create some new problems for me bc usually when i pass i look gay#to people. i am aware of this because i live in Hell and people make sure to let me know of my faggotry#but eh it's basically either gay guy or butch to those people so it's not like a significant change in QOL wrt homophobia#my prescription is also gonna be out in two or so weeks and then i can go back and ask to raise it again yipee#i prolly need to do blood testing first tho bc PCOS makes me require more monitoring

CW for period talk and internalized ableism
I’m so tired of spotting on the pill!! I go 10 days without a period and then I start bleeding lightly again. I have no cramps or other period symptoms, but it’s so inconvenient and expensive. I wish my body wasn’t defective.

I think nonbinary ppl should get the day off work if their tummy hurts :^/
#skin breathes#my cramps are soooooooososososo bad today oh my god#like im pretty sure something is wrong with me like pcos or something#stuff like that runs in my family#but every time i try to address it with a doctor they just try and prescribe me birth control pills about it#but birth control pills famously make me insane and the side effects are physically really hard on me too#the cramps are so bad that the sheer pain makes me nauseous and my chest feels tight and my heart rate quickens#and i cant focus on anything. like even worse than usual#and thats ON TOP of a whole host of other pms symptoms#like im rendered completely bed ridden for around 3 to 4 days every month#and i was told that everyone experiences periods differently my whole life so#i didnt figure out anything was wrong until i hit my 20s and they got worse and worse instead of better#really really need to schedule another appointment about it i always forget until my monthly reminder arrives lmao#anyways lets hope i dont puke up this ibuprofen im about to take cheers lads

I’ve been non stop on my period since the middle of august (after already having a month long period across June/july) and it’s just got heavier again and I think I should be allowed to commit a small crime or be given a million pounds compensation
#before anyone says anything: I’ve already been diagnosed many years ago and unfortunately this is just a side effect of being so swag 😔#(I have pcos. this isn’t my first rodeo with an very VERY extended shark week)#(and I’d rather this than a very moody few weeks of progesterone and an ultra sound that I never hear the results back from again)#(but seriously pads cost so much when you need to be using them constantly so. million pounds please *grabby hands*

On the one hand, my body is throwing a great big tantrum about not having dienogest and not being able to bleed about it. Big feelings. Big struggle to not live off Nutella.
On the other, temperatures feel more or less normal. I slept without waking up soaked in sweat. My chest isn't constantly aching with how hard my heart is beating. My pulse hasn't been over 100 all day, even after having caffeine (my blood pressure disliked that move slightly).
I thought I was imagining things.
I was not imagining things.
I can wear sweatpants and hoodies and, in a few days, probably, move without feeling like my heart is gonna explode.
#chronic illness#chronic pain#endometriosis#pcos#hypertension scare#probably still smart to hit up the cardiologist#I'm already dreading the talk to the doctor#“why do these readings look different to ours?”#because for the last four years your coworker suggested any issue I came in with was all in my head#because I am never informed what I am supposed to do or not do for the tests you need#because I have had TWO correct medication prescriptions in the last five years#because I am so very very tired of routine tests coming back for yet another new condition#because if you decide to change anything about my meds I'm playing side effect roulette AGAIN

Why are gendercrits acting as if this is new information? This isn't the fearmongering W you think it is, it just shows you aren't actually educated on the things you're talking about.
Cross-sex hormones use in females
"The female body is not developed to handle high doses of T anywhere close to male levels."
#these are similar risks and side effects of PCOS#and guess what? you can manage testosterone side effects the same way you manage PCOS#terfs are fascists#amateur art critic
