The act of passing down knowledge as a sacred and enriching tradition that honors wisdom, connection, and legacy in your personal and spiritual journey. Recognize that sharing knowledge, experiences, and insights with others is a powerful way to preserve, inspire, and empower future generations to learn, grow, and evolve. Embrace the idea of being a steward of wisdom, a beacon of light, and a guide for those who seek understanding, guidance, and inspiration.
Cultivate a mindset of generosity, humility, and service as you pass down knowledge to others, knowing that the act of sharing wisdom, lessons, and teachings is a gift that fosters growth, learning, and transformation. Embrace the transformative power of passing down knowledge, as it can spark curiosity, ignite passion, and inspire others to explore, discover, and create their own paths of enlightenment and fulfillment.
Practice embodying the values, teachings, and principles that you wish to impart to others, leading by example, authenticity, and integrity in all aspects of your life. Embrace the joy of witnessing the impact of your knowledge-sharing efforts, knowing that every seed of wisdom planted in the hearts and minds of others has the potential to bloom, flourish, and bear fruit in the world.
By embracing the concept of passing down knowledge with love, wisdom, and a spirit of service, you can create a ripple effect of learning, growth, and empowerment that transcends time, space, and generations. Let the act of sharing knowledge be a legacy of light, a legacy of love, and a legacy of transformation that honors the past, enriches the present, and inspires the future on your personal and spiritual journey of impact, influence, and enlightenment.

Timelapse for this painting I posted
#process#video#the song is the coppice by wickerbird#I know it should be the opposite but I feel very weird posting time lapses and sketches with all the a/i bullshit#cuz I feel like I’m inadvertently contributing to these asshats learning how to duplicate the sketches and brush strokes and shit#like showing how it’s done#but I’m not gonna stop sharing#cuz I love exchanging knowledge and experience with people who are learning to paint#my skills are not 100% technically sound or perfect#far from it#but I learned something from someone else and it’s my turn to pass it along and try and knock down the fear of making something#anyways I drew a horse and some grass

Today we thinking what if Anastasia knew Māori. Do you think maybe she had a moko and John freted awkwardly around her the first days before he gathered his courage to finally salute her in Māori? Surprised but very kind she salutes back. John instantly becomes a puppy when around her and often attempts to speak his rusty Māori around her, like a secret they are both partakers into, immensely pleased that there are families out there that kept their traditions and languages even if it would have happened outside his control. But the she kindly stops him, forgiving herself that her knowledge of the language only goes as far as a few phrases. Her mother only knew very few words, she can speak even less than her.
This momentarily sets John aback but he offers to teach her (from the little he knows himself), so she could teach it to her children (gesturing towards her already visible stomach).
She laughs bitterly. She wouldn't want to keep him from more important business. But he still finds time to teach her. He desperately wants to reconnect with his coulture. He obsessively latches to Anastasia.
We don't know for sure what happens next. She becomes a sewn tongue? Takes the silent vow? Retreats into the tomb before her children come of age?
Thousands years later John with almost the same emotion and apprehension salutes Harrow with a very akward "kia ora". She doesn't understand. The language was lost entirely in time. He cannot manage to connect to her in any meaningful way.
He could have done better for her. He could have passed down the generational knowledge. He could have been her parent.
Except she wouldn't accept his teachings.
He renames his daughter Kiriona.
#i have no knowledge of māori so this is very shallow#but something about meeting your kin again after myriads years and not being able to see yourself into them anymore#i would go even further and rise you what if john actually wanted a family with anastasia but knew to keep his distance (hopefully)#so he projects his feelings into Harrow the same way Pyrrha projects into Gideon#but this is mostly about feeling alienated from your own failings to pass down the very things that mean the most to your identity#tlt#the locked tomb#kiriona gaia#harrowhark nonagesimus#anastasia the first#john gaius

Been thinking a lot about Oda choosing Queen of Night as Law's image flower.
Like. Isn't that really important? In a story heavily featuring sun symbolism, MC with an image flower called Sun-facer, being assigned with "Beauty under Moonlight" is a dead giveaway that the author considers his role to be complimentary to the protagonist, an alternate source of light that takes its light from the sun.
A lot of Japanese fans think the last bit of vegapunk's message, "Those of you who are toyed by that fate, I hope this message reaches you" - was directed at Law's plot. There's no other D who is currently alive and interested in their "checkered fate" other than Law. Dawn and Dusk shared an interesting observation about Law's family being the only family of D's confirmed to originate from the opposite side of the red line (x). Then there's the hidden family name, and a five billion berry devil fruit ability. The groundwork has been laid out and none of these have been properly explained yet, there's no way Law wouldn't be important to the endgame plot.
#I'm still onboard my theory that Law's ancestors didn't belong to the ancient kingdom#but they embraced their will and passed it down in own bloodline - perhaps to fulfill some sort of duty#the knowledge is lost in law's generation but he's being 'guided' and 'kept alive'#it's all probably a red flag but let's stay hopeful#even though losing his hat was Hella ominous#BUT LET'S STAY HOPEFUL#one piece#one piece meta#1 am feels#it's not 1 am tho#trafalgar law#trafalgar d. water law#monkey d. luffy#mine

I was thinking on if Alex would ever teach his thievery skills to his kids and. hm.
the thing is, Alex got involved in the crime scene from a young age, not because he wanted to, but because he didn't really have much of a choice. society was stacked against him, and for very much part of it for the earlier years, it was a matter of survival.
now he's a renowned thief - the neath knows his trails very well. and he's damn good at it. where he may not be able to handle the complexities of the science behind them, he knows locks inside and out, can map out any building, can work through any plan of a break in. He's *skilled* in that matter, and he's damn well proud of it. he has no moral guilt with any of the matter, at least for who he steals from now.
but.
I'm not sure it's something he'd want his kids involved in. Because he didn't have a choice. and he wants them to have every choice he never had.
#i think at least eith johnny already being 12 when they met and being involved in his own crime stuff would make alex more then happy to#pass down his knowledge. but with penny. well. he might hestitate a bit when she asks#oc: alex#...and he never fully got the chance to teach the hybrid anything...

Going back to what Saphira says about the Ra'zac when Eragon first mentions them before he even knows what they are, how she seems to already possess some knowledge even though she's never seen or heard of them before, and in general how she seems to have a strange level of wisdom even for a child and I have to wonder if perhaps all dragons possess some innate knowledge, or if they can absorb information while still in the egg like in the Temeraire series. It might have been just early installment weirdness and an attempt by Paolini to make dragons seem more mystical, but I do wonder
-Mist
#Lights also pointed out it might be genetic knowledge passed down from humans when they joined the Pact#but that doesn't explain all the other stuff she says so idk#eragon#inheritance cycle

how did u learn to paint?? like i just cant wrap my head around it
<3 I love answering asks like this!
You will have to bare with me, I don't save many of my studies, and my files aren't that organized so I don't have as many images as I would like.
The studies I've found most helpful for myself personally with painting are various master studies. (This is also, as always, alongside study of fundamentals.) And always follow a study with self-critique (and, if you can get it, outside critique!)
"Master" in this sense means anyone who you want to learn something from.
One way you can do this is by copying an artist's work directly. This is to try and understand some of their stylistic techniques. Leyendecker, Andrew Loomis, and John Singer Sargent are personal favorites of mine! I try to keep these quick, I'm not trying to get an exact copy.

I also get a lot out of copying photos. In this case, I'm not trying to glean some technique, rather, I'm trying to interpret the photo and explore my own stylizations.

(photo credit mountain men of alaska )
I also really enjoy taking a painting or piece that already exists, and making it "mine" by putting my characters in it haha, which is sort of a combination of master studies and photo studies!

(William Bruce Ellis - Covent Garden (1930)) (Barberini Faun)
And then, in my work that's not a study at all, I'm informed by all of these!

What master studies do is help me refine my style and practice my technique, but also I'm communicating with artists of the past through my art! They're teaching me! And I have so much to learn.
And of course... most importantly... I paint.
a lot.
I don't do as much study anymore, not because I feel I've learned all I need to, but because for work I draw 50+ drawings a week. 'Drawing for work' and 'study' occupy the same space in my brain and I need some fun drawing time!
So to sum up, draw a lot, reference constantly, and copy the people you want to draw more like!
(and, of course, when doing a study off of someone else's work, always give them credit. If it's your photos there's no need.)
#I really tried to pare this one down cause it got LONG#as always I am more than happy to delve deeper into any of these particular points!#I'm always always always happy to explain as much of my process as possible#and I'd love to pass off some of my knowledge to others!#I love to see people creating art and want to do anything I can to help empower people to do so more#I love you mwa mwa mwa#asks#edsheerankinnie#art tips#painting tips#I pretty much wear my influences on my sleeve#like I don't care#I honestly get so so so excited about art I'm like shaking a little#like oh my god#we get to MAKE Things#we get to sit down and through the power of our own hands we get to CREATE#and I get to access the knowledge of humanity. throughout history#I get to reach my hand out and have people who are long gone pass their knowledge on to me.#like come on. that's unreal...#at some point you will unlock this feeling if you let yourself#the feeling of connection over centuries#when you hear michelangelo was so shocked by the lifelike nature of his own sculpture he threw his chisel at it to see if it would move#when you see rockwell's love for simple moments between normal people#when you see cave paintings of a woman and you know she was loved.#you get to fucking connect#and feel human#and it's really special#and it's why I think everyone should draw. everyone should draw a LITTLE#music too#augh I'm emotional

I love when I bring my cats to my parents place and they hang out w their cat and they do the cat equivalent of kid cousins at a family hangout which is like. Going to the garage and accidentally breaking something in some like mass hysteria version of a normal game you’ve just made up which is throwing table tennis balls to try and catch one in a ceiling beam but u end up getting them all stuck up there knocking something important over and your parents are all sooo stern but you can’t stop giggling and then they get more mad but have to be nice abt it because it’s a family hang
#the loose trauma bond u have w ur cousins from a young age from a vague shared knowledg of the family curse#which is actually just how unresolved trauma was passed down through generations <3

I think fratboy Podlight who sends his powerful grandmother stupid texts is a VERY funny concept.
"My dad didn't love me because he could never move on from the lover he had in his 20s. My sister is up to no good. I party hard at Aftergatherings about it, are you rockin' with me?"
He is 38 cat-years-old.
#BB!Podlight#Aftergatherings#Better bones au#Fennelposting#There's a secret AU of the AU where everything is exactly the same but the cats have the ability to text tbh#I do occasionally just for fun imagine what their phones would be like for no particular reason#Misty is the sort of old person you think you'll have to teach how to use an app#But the moment never comes and you find out she actually has a whole ass burner phone and even refuses to upgrade to--#--a more modern model because she doesn't trust a device she can't take the battery out of#And your blood goes cold for a moment because like... Gamgam?? Silly funny gamgam with the long speeches at gatherings???#When pressed she's just like ''once you give a secret to the world you can never take it back. Knowledge is power and power is a weapon.''#It's fun. I wish I had a way to translate half of these fun phone thought experiments into canon compliance lmao#Btw just as an aside. If this ever DID become an original project it would probably take some inspiration from like...#I really love the new Zelda games' magitech take on an apocalypse. VERY cool idea.#Months ago I had a passing thought of Fallen causing such an apocalypse and entertained it for fun for a while.#Put it down ofc because I like the project in its current form#But it was a fun thought.

whenever i bake bread, i talk to the yeast when i mix it in with the flour and then when i add warm water. i tell them that it's time to wake up and ask if they had nice dreams sitting in the fridge and that i am happy to give them a delicious meal. it is true that in 12-18 hours i will be burning all of the little yeasts alive, but they are not so long lived, and as our species have had a symbiotic relationship for thousands of years, i think that the yeasts understand.

"Sure...likewise...? (is this some kind of trap..?)" "Did.. hold on were you following me through the bushes?—"
"Don't worry about it! Come 'nd sit, we can all chat!"
(Lodi is fascinated with this new stranger, Damascus has mixed feelings.)
#misfits of war#[Lodi either watches people without their knowledge or snipes them clean shot. Damascus is the strangest objecthead he's ever seen]#[Damascus IS strange for his even for his kind so that's fair tbh. Lodi really saw him and went 'I like this weird one having a crisis']#[The introverted sword is getting claimed by the extroverted apple. They are not even on the same side of the war]#[Not that that will stop Lodi; They do what they want regardless of the politics in any given area or who's side you come from]#[They don't discriminate much. This is both a good and a bad thing depending on the situation or their opinion. Or both]#[Damascus just had the daylights scared out of him and doesn't know how to feel about this fruitfolk; He's never seen or met one like Lodi]#[He'd seen and met a few in passing before the war but never knew any particularly well; He's never met one so...whatever Lodi has goin on]#[Damascus will become very concerned with them and their methods very quickly]#c.damascus parastin#c.lodi moros#art.post#comic.post#art#comic#Unrelated SORRY THIS TOOK LIKE. DAYS. Adhd is not kind 2 me#It took a while but not THAT long to do mannn. I had the script in my head sorted and the thing laid out in my brain#It was the Sitting Down And Doing It part that took forever#Managed to hype myself up n get it done. I should've just taken my Adhd meds that would've worked better but I forgot </3

Bucky being really involved with the youth at his synagogue. The kids always seem drawn to him and he finds himself roped into helping out with youth activities, but soon finds it’s something he enjoys. Teaching them to make challah the way his mother taught him. Helping the kids with their Hebrew studies. He’s a valuable resource of Jewish history. Sometimes he’ll talk to the teens about the war because they’re older and understand, but none of them ever press him to talk about his experiences. What the kids seem to be mainly interested in is how Jewish life has changed for kids since Bucky was a kid. They want to know how their shul compares to his, what games he played, and hear the stories he can pass on about living in a Jewish immigrant community. He often finds the kids ask the questions but the grown ups in the room are listening just as intently.
#headcanon#mod c#thank you for submitting this!#bucky barnes#jewish bucky barnes#jewish bucky#i completely agree! i also have always headcanoned bucky as being excellent with kids#hes a big brother!!!#also love the idea of him teaching hebrew and jewish history!!#him as an elder passing down knowledge!!

You ever see or read any japanese superhero stuff (kamen rider, super sentai, ultraman, magical girls, etc)?
Kamen Rider Ryuki specifically is near and dear to my heart, to the point of fan rider designs, but that was a fluke born from having been really into its attempted rangers-style Americanization, Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight, when I was a little kid. Aside from that, toku and magical girls are mostly outside my wheelhouse. I know what I'm looking at when the allusions crop up and at a glance I know the difference between those four things, but that's about it
#I also had a smattering of passed down knowledge of Ultraman from my father#as for some inscrutable reason it was part of the saturday morning rotation during his childhood in the 60s#thoughts#personal#meta#kamen rider#ask#asks
