! the boatboys one had an underlying sketch that someone put on the board as free to use - it's the thin yellow lines underneath the drawing. they didn't leave an @ anywhere but i did my best not to cover their signature, it's next to joel's head.

Traffic in Africa

Gallavich week day 1

Starting Gallavich week right by crossing off the ‘traffic’ bingo square (circle) with Gallavich stuck in traffic in Africa, just not the kind of traffic you might have expected. This was inspired by the wonderful Africa, by the even more wonderful Willow @ian-galagher. I also used some colours from @necrotic-nightshade’s wonderful colour palette. @gallavichthings

Here's a little comic from Eaurp's first time on a spaceship in actual space, the ISMT-47 Violet, which brought her from Mellanus to Starfleet Academy on Earth.

About 40% of mellanoid slime worms react to experiencing zero gee for the first time by losing their skeleton and collapsing into a blob as a way to minimize damage from crashing into the ground. You get used to it and eventually it's not a problem anymore. Guz would have dealt with this on a zero-gee trainer airplane if she had stayed in the space program, or experienced it in a training simulation in Earth Orbit or a holosuite at Starfleet Academy, but the Violet's crew like to make sure passengers from backwater worlds get their space legs as soon as possible.

Airline now told me I'm not getting compensated for the missed flight and 13 hour overnight layover because it was "outside of the airline's control". Well that's convenient for them, right. Means that they only need to compensate people whenever the airline is like "today I'm not in the mood to be punctual".

i wish that drivers licenses were like. at all indicative of driving skill.

do you know what my driver's ed course was? "don't drink and drive, the gas is on the right, use your signal when you turn, and don't drink and drive. here is your learner's permit, if you go a few months without fucking up you will get a full license. please do not drink and drive."

which is insane to me, because as an 18 year old i probably should not have been given clearance to drive a several tonne death machine??

anyways I'm saying this because I've been driving for nearly a decade now, and dear god. there's a lot of people who just should not be on the road. i understand that this is a car-based country and we do not actually fucking have public transportation. but like. if you are operating a several tonne death machine you should ideally know how to do so in a way that does not make other people fear for their lives. If I am sitting and waiting to turn, I should not be in danger of nearly having the front of my car taken off because YOU decided that driving on the right side of the road was for squares, actually.

Chasing traffic

I got off the phone a few minutes ago with the police I was leaving the courthouse for a work errand and this car behind me was also leaving and they kept honking because they wanted me to turn but there was so much traffic that I couldn’t turn and they kept pulling up on my bumper and they hopped the sidewalk to try and go around me but they were going to hit my car that way so I had to risk it and pull out into traffic because I thought that was a better chance of not getting hit and they pulled up beside me and stopped and rolled their windows down screaming at me and starting throwing water bottles at my car and I’m still shaking and like that just feels like such an insane thing to do just because you wanted to turn quicker especially right next to a courthouse
