Ooo may I have a snippet of Haunted pls 👀
Yes you may 😘
*for reference, this is written as a "found footage" type of deal where the boys are paranormal investigators*
The screen shakes as the camera pans to another hallway, pieces of the ceiling scattered on the floor. Doorways stand along the side of the hall, menacing shadows seemingly playing tricks in the bright light accompanying the crew. Soap steps into view as he peers into one of the rooms, a small black device in his hand. There's a static sound effect added as the lights on the top of the device flicker, spiking to the yellowish light before falling still again. Soap glances down at it before looking to the camera. "I like how this thing goes off when I look into the only room with a creepy ass doll," Soap laughs, gesturing with the device and looking back into the room once again. "Yeah, I wouldn't go near that thing," Gaz says as he joins Soap, flicking a small flashlight into the room. "Oh, I don't plan on going into that room. That thing's fucking creepy. I want to catch evidence of the paranormal, not catch a possession. I mean, like I'm dedicated but-" Soap is suddenly interrupted by a loud banging from further down the hall. Gaz immediately turns towards the noises, but Soap slowly turned and then looked back at the camera. "Fucking shut up, I'm trying to talk here." He quips, and a strangled snort comes from behind the camera. "The only investigator ever to tell the ghosts to shut up," Gaz laughs as he turns back to look at Soap. Soap laughs and points at someone next to the camera, yet just off screen. "You're insufferable, MacTavish."
Hope you enjoyed! *fuck my phone for not behaving while I tried to copy paste this*

Madcleradin Paranormal Investigators AU because i simply had to sit down and think about it after remembering this post by @dis-a-ppointment again for the millionth time.
Will went missing in 1983.
He was kidnapped for a week, but he managed to get away and Mike found him in the woods near the quarry after going out every night to look for him.
Will swears there was another girl there, even though they never actually found the perpetrator or any sign of a girl having gone missing.
Will and Mike start looking into it in High School - Will swore by it, and kept having nightmares about the girl, feeling guilty he'd left her behind.
So, Mike, to help Will, looks into it further - using the same detective skills he'd used while Will had been gone. He finds out about Jane Yves, and how she should be around the same age Will had said the girl should be.
It's a project they kept hidden from Lucas and Dustin, Will not wanting to burden anyone else with it. He talked to Hopper a million times though, and he insists he's looked into it but that there's nothing to lead him in any direction. Especially as Jane supposedly died in a miscarriage, and the lab had shut down ages ago.
In senior year, they start breaking into empty houses because Will wonders if he might recognize one of them, if he might remember the location of where he'd been kept it could be their first clue.
One day, they're breaking into an abandoned house near the trailer park when Max catches them. She joins them for their 'ghost hunt' - the best excuse they could come up with - and though she thinks it's bullshit, she's having a blast making fun of them whenever they flinch at a "scary noise".
AKA Will starts hearing things and insists they're ghosts, while Max just makes fun. Mike is a fence straddler - he doesn't actually believe ghosts are real but he's a 100 percent on Will's side. If Will says he heard a ghost than it's a ghost. period.
Eventually it becomes a bit of a hobby - going to "haunted houses".
Max is doing it for the ghost hunting, unaware of the Jane thing, but Mike and Will are still also investigating behind Max' back.
The summer after High School, when Dustin and Lucas are both going to an early summer program at their respective colleges, the three of them are left to spend their summer break road tripping around the state and "investigating". Both for fun and because they found a way to make money off of it - they end up selling their stories to a popular alternative magazine - Max takes pictures, Mike and Will write, and sometimes Will makes art of the ghosts they saw.
Along the way though, Will starts wondering if he might actually be going crazy with the voices he's hearing and the things he's seeing, but his best friend buddy pal Mike insists that if that's the case they'd go crazy together.
Eventually, they figure out that their "ghost proof" has a particular pattern, and they realize the "ghost" might be communicating with them - that it's strangely enough - not a different ghost for each house, but one ghost following them.
Long story short it was El communicating with them using her powers, and she leads them to where she's being kept.
Also, Mike and Will kiss.

While I sat outside with my sister to pass out candy to children I came up with a small little AU. There’s not a lot for an actual story but enough for some headcanons.
            Paranormal Investigator AU
Duncan burned some bridges while in Toronto and can’t seem to find a decent job. Gwen can’t seem to find a job with her art history degree.
One day while channel surfing they get to the Travel Channel and there’s a show about paranormal investigation. Gwen jokes that it would be easy to scam home owners and pretended to feel an ‘evil presence’ in a corner.
That’s where Nocturne Paranormal Investigations began.
They’ve been scamming from Mississauga all the way to Montreal. That is until one day they get a call from a man who calls himself Mr. Madden and he’s from Vancouver.
Gwen doesn’t want to make the trip because going cross country means spending money but the man promises to pay them triple.
She almost hangs up because it ticks off to many boxes on the start of a horror movie. Strang man not from their area calling them to go a long way from home. Check. Not doubling but tripling it when she turns it down. Check.
That is until he’s pleading on the phone and that he only called because his niece spoke highly of them.
Gwen decides to play along because now that she thinks about business has been slow and she has time to kill.
After a few minutes Mr. Madden wears her down and now that she thinks about it she they could use a change of pace, but also they can’t be picky when it comes to business. Even if it screams Dumb Horror Movie Decision™.
Gwen takes the case without consulting Duncan which made him think that his life was a living hell while they drove to Vancouver. Which made her life a living hell for 22 hours.
DJ their new hire, and old friend, was a good buffer, but there was only so much he could do from Duncan being an ass. Which made Gwen act like an ass. Which just makes DJ wish that maybe he took his uncles offer as working at a temp agency.
The moment Duncan drives his car up the long driveway, with tree’s and  random pieces of stoned carvings he makes a comment about if they die he’ll kill Gwen.
The mansion is huge and Duncan now thinks that Gwen should have squeezed a couple extra thousand.
Gwen finds it annoying that Duncan has not only been bitching for the whole time, but now he’s bitching at her for not negotiating better.
Gwen was going to kill him if the owner of the house didn’t.
Duncan sees another car in the large driveway and is back to being grump, but also on edge to the point that Gwen thinks he finally lost it.
He starts to light up while they wait for Mr. Madden to answer the door. Gwen can basically feel the stress off him. She wonders if he’s really scared of this big mansion. It is screaming murder mystery house
Mr. Madden finally answers the door. He has familiar features with blond hair and green eyes. Gwen feels her stomach drop because if his niece is the person she’s thinking about that means Duncan’s ex-girlfriend isn’t far behind.
Gwen hopes that maybe they aren’t there. That it would just be her team and Mr. Madden during their investigation.
She’s proven wrong when he takes them to the drawing room because it’s the place that had the least activity from spirits.
There are four other people in there. Two she knew were going to be there, the other’s didn’t even come to her minds radar when she sees them in there.
Two she knew Bridgette and Courtney. Courtney is Duncan’s ex, and Gwen could basically feel Duncan stiffen. Like he’s some cat that just came into contact with a very large dog that’s a threat.
The other two is Geoff, Duncan’s childhood friend who moved during 7th grade. The other is Trent, the guy Gwen’s been seeing for the past couple of months.
Geoff is Bridgette’s boyfriend and Trent is now Bridgette’s cousin through marriage. (Trent’s dad married Bridgette’s aunt).
DJ is confused as to why Duncan is glaring at Courtney, and Courtney in turn is glaring right back at him.
DJ decides to lead the conversation because now Gwen and Duncan are distracted.
He can’t get to it because Trent asks Gwen what she was doing there, she says it’s for work. She asks what Trent’s doing there and he tells her that he’s family.
DJ tries it again but is once again interrupted when Courtney scoffs and rolls her eyes which just sets off Duncan because why not? They weren’t there for a job or anything!
After, like, 30 seconds of them yelling at each other Bridgette intervenes and says that their bad vibes is feeding the spirit.
Courtney reveals that she’s there to prove that their a scam, not because she knows but because she thinks all paranormal investigators are scammers.
Duncan, who always thoughts ghost were fake and people who actually hired them were idiots is now putting 110% effort into the job.
DJ is able to redirect the conversation back to Mr. Madden and his ghosts.
It’s been happening for years now, but it wasn’t until recently that it seems to have been amped up.
Gwen talks about energies.
Courtney scoffs again.
Duncan says they should kill Courtney and offer her up to appease the spirit.
Mr. Madden eventually has to leave because he got a call to go into town because of business or whatever.
So now it’s a full night of investigation with Courtney constantly interfering by being right about them being fakes.
Luckily no one is taking her seriously but it’s started to make Gwen nervous that Duncan might go too far and eventually the truth of the scam will come out.
Obviously the more the night goes on the more romance happens between Courtney and Duncan.
Oh no they get locked in a room. Duncan makes a comment about how she’s so desperate to get back together with him that she locked them in.
She says that Duncan is the one that’s not over her, so that’s why he suggested to investigate that room.
Ghost makes a sound
Courtney mocks Duncan “Oh so scary! Come on Duncan, I know you can do better than that.”
Duncan takes the compliment but tells her that it wasn’t him.
The entire night is filled with ghost activity as it soon becomes apparent that the ghost is very much real and Nocturne Paranormal Investigation has to come to terms that they are now in over their head because this spirit is starting to become down right violent.
Duncan and Courtney makeout at one point during the night. They would go further but the ghost is a cock block.

Chasing Pasts in Shadows
or the madcleradin paranormal investigators au i had to write
part 1 | part 2
Will had a really bad feeling about this.
"Wheeler, are you sure this is the right address?" Max asked from the backseat, her voice a strange mix of amusement and exasperation.
"You saw the google maps, I saw the google maps, there's no way this is the wrong place," Mike said, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel. "I mean, unless google lied to us,"
"Wouldn't be the first time," Max grumbled.
"We should go talk with Mr Reyes," Will interrupted their imminent squabble session. "I know he said his house was big, but this is kind of ridiculous."
Ridiculous was a gross understatement. Mr Reyes had called their little company a few days ago, asking them to have a look around because he felt some disturbance in and around his 'cottage'. This 'cottage' was a mansion bordering on a manor. Afternoon sun hit the stone perfectly, making them glow and glitter; the shade and light somehow complemented the bursting gardens of mauve pansies and chrome daffodils and bright bougainvillaea. Will could see ivy crawling up the side of the house, while grapevines curled up and around the thick fencing. His hands twitched to paint the sight.
Focus on the task, William. He shook himself out of the reverie to see Mike and Max get out of their car, which was held together by the mechanical prowess of El and the engineer genius, Dustin. Mike got in the trunk of the car to pull out their regular equipment, while Max stalked the perimeter, looking for something Will never understood. She claimed she could feel 'energies', traces of paranormal activity. That was the only time Mike agreed with her, talking about some 'vibrations' and temperature, and  2 years of animosity over El evaporated just like that.
Will took out his phone to look over the information Dustin gathered when Mike cursed quietly.
This wasn't unusual in itself, Mike talked to himself a lot, when doing anything technical or investigation related, it helped him keep track of stuff he's doing. Will loved hearing his occasional little remarks about the tripod being an inconsiderate asshole or the wires being unnecessarily difficult, it made Will's day. Then again Will loved everything about Mike Wheeler, his sarcasm, his insistence that aliens existed, the curl above his right eyebrow, his eyes that seemed to contain depths of thoughts inconceivable-
Will had to get his huge crush on Mike under control.
"Mike? Is everything alright?" Will turned around, finding Mike frowning at a regular camera.
Mike shook his head. "I'm sure it's nothing," He trailed off, "Max! Get your ass here!" He yelled to Max who was doing something on the far side of the fence.
"What's up, Wheeler?"
Mike looked a little troubled, but he quickly smoothed out his features. "You remember how Dustin and I meticulously recharged every battery last night? It's dead now. I was trying to click a picture of the house- It isn't turning on,"
Max took the camera, inspecting every part of it. "Are you sure you put it in correctly? Plus to plus and all?"
Mike bristled, "Of course I did, I was in the AV club, Mayfield. I thought you might sense something,"
"Do you?"
Mike hesitated a little, "No."
Will was getting concerned. "Max, can you check the rest of the stuff? I have to go through the questions and the information Dustin found for us. Mike, come with me for a sec," Will dragged Mike away by his wrist, putting some distance between them and the exceptionally sharp ears of Max. "Mike? You good? You know you can tell me anything, right? Even if I don't understand what you are talking about, I'm still here for you," Mike frowned as if he didn't quite believe Will.
"Yeah, I think I'm okay. I just thought,” Mike hesitated, fiddling with the string of his ‘Mother Mother’ hoodie.
“You can tell me, Mike. It’s okay,” Wil could see the tension on Mike’s face. He wanted to smooth the wrinkles on his forehead. He didn't.
“It’s weird. I know Dustin and I charged the devices yesterday. It shouldn’t be dead. Dustin even joked about using those things for 48 hours straight,” Mike pulled at the hair curling around his ear. “I’d say this was something paranormal and spooky, but there was nothing to sense, no fields or vibrations or whatever. It was as if the battery died after being used. Plus our phones still work, so whatever it is, it is targeting our equipment specifically. And our equipment doesn't use any wireless networks to operate, so this cannot be from any overhead disrupter.”
Will silently marvelled at the stuff Mike had deduced within minutes. “We’ll fix it, Mike.”
“You’d know you wouldn’t have to if you hung around for half a second more instead of running off to flirt,” Max barged in, holding the camera, beeping the “20% battery left” message.
Will sputtered, as Mike did the same.
“It’s not like that!”
“Mayfield, shut up!”
Max looked at them, with an expression that read ‘are you fucking kidding me’. “Are you fucking kidding me?”
“How long have you been eavesdropping?!” Mike said, affronted by the notion.
“Don’t get your pants in a twist, I just heard something about wireless networks, chill,” Max sniffed. “Can we go meet the old dude now or you both want to take another millennium to confess your undying love for each other?”
“Yeah, let's go.” Will awkwardly walked to the huge kissing gate, pushing it open and power walking in, just to avoid Max’s obnoxious remarks. He hadn't seen the questions to ask or the briefing Dustin had sent, but nothing could go wrong this early, right?
***
poor, naive will.
ive already written more of it, i just decided to post it scene by scene bc it'll be more frequently updated. this isn't betad at all so lemme know if anyone finds any mistakes or typos (be gentle please this is my first time writing fanfic)
this is set in 2022, so modern au bc i don't have enough knowledge about ghost hunting in 90's america and the party doing gen z things is too chaotic to pass up. they just have Instagram and tiktok, but no yt channel.
Will is kind of their leader and one of the two active investigators but they all have their own tasks to do.
El is a hardware mechanic and social media manager with lucas
Dustin manages the software stuff and their research (Will helps with the research)
Mike is the heart the other active investigator and he can feel paranormal activity and traces ie a dowsing rod for that stuff (based on that scene where mike reaches for el when she's using her powers to see him in s2)
Max is the on-site technician and always on camera duty . Also a dowsing rod for paranormal activity.
Lucas manages their social media and appearance and takes clients (mike and max help to check their authenticity) and plans their entire schedule bc they are still students and time is precious
lumax are together
they operate out of mike's garage
i think that's all the bg info i can remember for now
inspired by/ based on @dis-a-ppointment 's moodboard and @aeilus 's art
@swordsandskeletons thank you for hyping me up and being generally excited for this💞💞
next part will be up 20 April, at 1800 IST, come scream at me if i forget 🙂

Nancy Wheeler is first and foremost a skeptic, so of course it's her boyfriend who can see spirits. And if it weren't for her own close encounter she wouldn't believe him. She doesn't believe half the stories they hear but she's not about to let him go investigate on his own.
Their latest case has brought them to the bright lights of Nashville to solve the murder of an average backup singer. Even though all signs point to one suspect, Jonathan and Nancy know by now that things are never as easy as they seem. But with an ill-natured mourner, unhelpful clientele, and an even more unhelpful apparition it's up to them to sort through the stories to find the truth before it's too late.

Chapters: 1/1 Summary:
One shot. Modern AU. Paranormal Investigators AU. Gift Fic.
"Then came the sign, which after several hours of bickering, multiple Sharpies thrown at one another, and askew clothing, they settled on the name “Remnant Investigations Agency”. Which was too plain according to Owain but his decision would have resulted in a sign that covered an entire window, covered in text both Inigo and Severa agreed was inane.
So, their business’s name stuck and they settled down to wait for (supernatural) jobs to (hopefully) come in."
The Trio run a Supernatural Investigations Business that's doing Very Well thanks for asking (lies). In fact, they recently received a (supernatural) job request from a girl named Elise. OR: Garon dies off screen and Elise is bound and determined to not let her house become the setting to an Actual Horror Story.
~
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, FRIEND!!! I hope you like and enjoy this fic. Thanks for always being here for me to chat with about any topic under the sun. I’m always saying how grateful I am that we’re friends and I mean it. I hope you’re having a great holiday and that your time is relaxing. You deserve it!
Hello everyone! This fic is for my lovely friend @someobscurereference! The prompt was “Trio Paranormal Detective Agency where they will always get the job done but it’s always dumb jobs nobody else wants to take, like finding a lost dog”. I had a lot of fun writing this fic, though fun fact, I almost wrote as Elise. I didn’t, but do know that there is a version in my brain where it’s written Outsider POV Elise.

Chasing Pasts in Shadows
part 1 | part 2 | part 3
please pay attention to the tags, there's some heavy stuff going on
Mr Reyes was a balding, rotund man in his fifties, who greeted them, showed them around the garden like a realtor and finally invited them into the parlour (A parlour!) to have some tea. Will was currently sat on the long couch with Mike crowding him in towards the right armrest and eyeing the plates suspiciously and worrying the rip in his black jeans . Max took the armchair nearer Mike, picking up one of the sandwiches. Mr Reyes took the last armchair, settling in with a sigh. “Oof. Bad knees, these days. I'm not as young as I was, back in the eighties,” he chuckled, “but you kids don't have to worry about that yet, hmm? I should hope not. Well, take whatever you’d like to eat and you can ask away,” He leant back into the plush of the chair.
Will nodded and reached in for a grape. ”Mr Reyes, before we start, if at any point of time you feel uncomfortable answering questions, do let us know. We want to know as much as possible about the case but not at the cost of your mental health. Do you understand?”
“I do.”
“Good. Max, hand over the recorder, please.”
Max passed it to Mike. Will reached out for it, electricity racing up when his hand briefly brushed against Mike’s. He fought down a shiver, clicking it on and placing it on the middle of the table, among the delicately arranged sandwiches, fresh fruit and cheese and crystal glasses of sparkling water. “Just say your name and age, we’ll take care of the rest.”
“Javier Reyes and 53.”
“Mr Reyes, you called us to investigate some disturbances in, um, your house. Could you please elaborate?” Will asked, chewing on his grape. It was delicious.
“Oh, what do you want to know about?”
“When did they first start?”
“About 10 months ago, I was in the kitchen to get a drink, I think, at 2 am in the morning, because the mini fridge in my room had broken down a few days ago. The entire house had blown a fuse, and some of my appliances short circuited before the fuse. Old faulty circuitry in an old house. So, I was getting a beer from the refrigerator, when the chandelier started swinging, just enough to be visibly moving. I thought nothing of it, going back to bed. Things progressively went worse from there,” Mr Reyes said. Will could see his fingers clenching hard.
“Worse how?” Max asked, reaching for another plate of sandwiches. “These are delicious, by the way.”
“I’m glad, Ms. Mayfield,” Mr Reyes smiled, his eyes losing a bit of their edge. “About your question, well, it didn't get bad right away. At first, it was swinging chandeliers, knives out of the wooden block, on the island or just my phone dying even if I charged it all night,” Mike, Max and Will glanced at each other. What the fuck? Mike mouthed silently.
Just keep listening, Max mouthed back.
Mr Reyes didn't notice their little conversation, continuing, “then I started finding the knives in increasingly weird places, like the library, behind a book I was thinking of reading, in the bath where I could have cut my foot on it, once I found a meat cleaver on the bedside table. I couldn't sleep again for the rest of that night,” Mr Reyes cut off, shivering. Will felt like it, too. Meat cleavers near his head? Will would run, screaming and never looking back.
“Are you okay, Mr Reyes? We can take a break if you like,” Will asked.
“No, no, it’s fine, it’s relieving to get this off my chest. I was so happy when I saw the Facebook ad,”
The what? Facebook? What the fuck was Lucas doing?
“If you are sure,” Will nodded.
“I heard footsteps, first on the floors above or below me, then it got closer, I heard it outside in the hallways, in the room adjacent to the one I'm in, and it always walks towards me. They start silent, barely audible, getting louder and louder til I'm sure there’s someone on the other side. Just there, looking, standing, staring. It’s gotten even closer since the last few days,” Mr Reyes' face was frozen in an expression of confused terror. Will felt sorry for the man. Mr Reyes seemed so optimistic, so happy. No one would ever think he was going through a horror film all the time.
Mr Reyes went on. “The footsteps are always coming from where I can’t see. I was making and eating dinner the day before, when the dreaded sounds came up, thud, thud, thud, behind me,” Mike inched closer to Will, a movement so minute, Will would have missed it if he wasn’t attuned to every single part of Mike. “I whipped around, sure I’d see the intruder, a squatter or something, but there was no one. Nothing. I decided I’d call someone, maybe a priest to have a look around the next morning. I threw away the rotting pb&j full of maggots-”
“Wait, rotting pb&j?” Mike asked, perplexed.
“Oh, yeah. It's been happening for some time but food goes bad the moment I take my eyes off them. It rots away like it's been sitting there for days. Liquified and maggots crawling through them,” Max set her plate of sandwiches down, a bit green in the face. “I'm not sure how that is happening, but I don't eat here anymore, my friends take me out for meals.”
“Mr Reyes,” What the fuck, Will asked, “Do you have any other place to stay for a while? All of this sounds like it’s very intense for you-”
“Oh no, Mr Byers, I can’t leave this place, not after- not after my dear Emily…” Mr Reyes choked up. “I can’t bear to leave this place, no. If I stay over at a friend’s, she won't come to me. She talks with me in my dreams, asks me how I am, we do things we normally do, like cooking together, reading in the library, kissing me, but if I don't come home, Emily doesn't come to me, only the sound of footsteps, getting closer,” A tear dropped down Mr Reyes’ face. Will felt unsettled. The things he was describing did sound like a true haunting, but what if it wasn't?
“Mr Reyes, I think it'd be good for you to take a stroll in the garden, get a breath of fresh air,” Will spoke up. “I insist.”
Mr Reyes slumped, breathing heavily. “Alright,” He said, after staring at his shoes, for what seemed like an eternity, “I'll take a short walk outside,”
Will turned back to the others the moment he left. “How are you guys holding up? If this case is true, it'd would be the biggest one yet, financially and paranormally,”
Max looked at Will. “You don’t believe him, do you?”
“It’s not that, I suspect other things as well,”
“Will,” Mike said, so softly near his ear, Will nearly jumped out of his skin. “I don’t think he's lying,”
“What do you mean?”
“Max, you can feel it right? It’s so heavy around him, It is coming off in waves,” Mike stared at the door Mr Reyes exited from.
“It’s still here though,” Max said. “If he was being haunted, then the intensity of the energy would cease the moment he left, but it didn’t.”
“But it’s different, they are not similar,”
“You mean there are more than one entities in this house?”
“It doesn't have to be an entity, Byers, it can be a object with history as well,”
“But this doesn't feel like an object, it feels separate,” Mike sighed loudly. “I don't understand.”
“So I was way off when I thought it was schizophrenia.”
“You thought it was schizophrenia? Have we not done this shit like a thousand times?”
“Well, sue me, I was thinking of his mental health, Max. It has happened before, when it was just El, Mike and me.”
“Okay, okay, Max, calm down, Will can’t feel the traces so it’s not his fault. Will, thank you for looking out for us, I, uh, we appreciate it.” Mike looked at Will, eyes soft. Will felt his cheeks heat up.
The door swung open and Mr Reyes walked in, his face noticeably calm.
“I feel better now,” He took his seat. “We can continue.”
“Mr Reyes, can you show us the food thing?”

things are escalating, what is going to happen?
thank you for reading!!
once again this was only betad by grammarly and hemingway editor so please lemme know if there are any errors or weird dialogues bc english isnt my first language and some of it looked funky to me.
some more lore that i can't figure how to put in the story w/o infodumping
el's full name is Janelle Hopper
will and el are still step siblings
lonnie is out of the picture
el is hopper's bio daughter
el was never experimented on and she grew up a happy normal life bc hop and joyce got together when will and el were about 5
mike, will and el met in kindergarten, just like in canon
the only reason el has this backstory is because i personally want el to not have a trauma filled life
next part should be up tomorrow, same time ie 1800 IST, spam me with messages if i don't update ✨✨
tell me what part you liked!!
