hardest bargain.
Tumblr media
fluff. gn!reader × kinich. wc 489
summary. flower picking !
generally speaking, kinich is not the type to do things he deems meaningless and fruitless; unconditional, non-transactional. although, it is a different story when it is you, who proposes an activity.
when the first february day in the everlasting land of palmy days broke out with the brightest sun, you did not hesitate to seek kinich out to ask him to make flower crowns with you. one for him and one for you to match.
as it was said, kinich would not consider flower picking nor weaving of value; it seems way too idle and dull for his own worth. but not when it comes to you. he grumbled a bit, nevertheless, he persisted by your side all the same.
or rather, right up there, lying on the huge white chestnut oak tree's branch—while you were by its roots—in his usual manner. sometimes he closed his eyes, even so, kinich kept on listening to your ramblings the entire time.
“hey, kin, what flowers do you like?”
“kinich, do you think this one is pretty?”
“say, kinich, what is your favorite color?”
“kinich! look at this one!”
later on, he slowly positioned himself from lying to sitting. you can not expect him to go stiff from being in one position continuously, can you? it has been minutes to hours after all. he only stayed because it was you down there, collecting flowers you thought were the most beautiful ones.
after a while, he swinged branch after branch down. in complete silence.
and then, as you turn to your right, kinich is holding a palm extended to you. you giggle, loking at a lone feeble flower he just plucked out without any stem left to it. he does not understand your reason to laugh at all. cute.
“no, silly! you have to pick the flowers like that.” you squat down again and delicately show the correct way. “we need the stems to make the flower crowns. but it is okay, we can figure out the place for your little blossom too.” you smile.
“why? it is just a random plant i picked out, yours are better.” he looks at you confused.
you do not take any time to think before answering, “this flower is special because you gave it to me.”
if you did not know any or, well, kinich, better, you would expect a blush dyeing his cheeks. instead, he puts that same puny flower in his pocket.
“then, if you say so, i will keep this one until you find me a special flower for exchange too,” he says in a soft, muted voice.
ah, even now, he finds a way to carry out a perfect deal between two people once again. still, kinich knows, the feelings he holds for you require much more of his time and effort to give for you to accept it wholly.
it is by far his hardest and most priceless bargain.

I realize this is absolutely not the point of this blog, but I would just like to point out how totally unhinged the Orangina mascot is.
I can't decide which is my favorite: the slutty plants, the zebra that escaped from the set of a 1980s Italian variety program, or the hyper-realistic photo manipulations that appear to show very bland, middle-aged men getting lap dances from anthropomorphized animal strippers. There is also a charming burlesque penguin from a bygone era.
I think I drew too broadly by describing the plants as slutty. Of course, the bamboo shoot is very slutty, this is a given. The lavender, on the other hand, appears to be simply confident in her sensuality as she reclines in bed. The cactus is really more of a femme fatale and the hibiscus, obviously, is Marilyn Monroe - as one would expect. But the palm tree with her flaky, palmy skin, is clearly a nymphomaniac, running down the street while undressing. Or she's supposed to be Anita Ekberg in La Dolce Vita. Either way, this is complete madness.

Kordylina
Trzeba wielkiego zaangażowania wyobraźni, by zobaczyć w niej jakiekolwiek podobieństwo do kapusty — bo nie o ogólny kształt drzewa tu chodzi.
Z upływem czasu i w miarę rozwoju systematyki wprowadzono bardziej sensowne nazwy, jednak z jakiegoś powodu ominęło to potoczną nazwę Cordyline australis — New Zealand cabbage tree.

- i'm eating an apple! | gramatically correct, although i'm not sure why you'd ever need to exclaim you're eating an apple
"jem korbieta" - i'm eating womren | i think you meant to say women correctly. listen, i don't want to dictate your diet, but-
"plamy na słońcu!" - stains in the sun! | did you perhaps mean to say "palmy"- palm? the tree?
"wojciech!" - a name in the vocative case | did you know there was once a bear with that name?

"If you should happen to feel like a rag, grandfather Sandrot told me, lean your back against a beautiful high forest oak or against a "modern" oak that stands upright.
Rest your heels, buttocks, back and the back of your skull against your trunk.
Turn to the south, place your palms on the bark and stay there as long as you can... An hour if you are patient enough: Healed!
You will feel loaded!
- Loaded with what?
Loaded with life, boy!
It's easy to understand: the tree sucks its life from the earth, it rises up through its roots and its trunk, but it also sucks it up from the sky through the leaves and makes it descend through the branches.
It goes both ways, you know?
And you take advantage of it to get back in shape.
That's how our old folks cheered themselves up!"
(Henri Vincenot - La Billebaude)
🌳🌲 Silvotherapy is a real therapeutic method of treating and preventing diseases through trees.
It was only recognized as a scientific method in 1927, by which time it had been used for centuries.
It is based on the ancient idea of recovering health through trees.
In the past, patients with pneumonia were advised to spend some time in the woods or at least nearby.
A practice that could also be useful to us, who have distanced ourselves more and more from nature in recent decades.
🌲🌳 Silvotherapy is indicated both for healthy people, as disease prevention, and for sick people, as help and support in healing.
Healthy people can practice sylvotherapy actively, i.e. by walking, running or playing sports in the woods.
We can practice this type of forest therapy every day, or when we are on vacation or at the weekend.
Breathing the air of the woods is considered a truly beneficial remedy, given that it activates blood circulation, increases the number of red blood cells, facilitates breathing in chronic lung patients, promotes sleep and helps delay aging.
The air of the woods is beneficial because it contains significant quantities of negative oxygen ions, which help stimulate and harmonize vital processes and the psychic and emotional sphere.
