Green flag – Sakusa x reader wc 262 – gn!reader

Imagine Sakusa hearing you tell a friend that the greenest flag is someone with good humour. He nags himself with how he can show you he has humour, especially when he’s usually surrounded by three loud and admittedly funnier guys.

In an attempt to absorb their energy, he turned to said teammates and chuckled uncharacteristically loudly at whatever Hinata had said.

All three men stopped laughing and looked at him like they’d seen a pig fly.

“Are ya feeling okay, Omi?” Atsumu asked, brows furrowing in a near frown.

“Uh- yeah!” Sakusa threw a look over his shoulder, catching your eye just as you turned away. Facing back towards his friends again, he crossed his arms. “I laugh sometimes.”

The three other volleyball players glanced at each other and silently agreed to play along and not embarrass him at the work party.

“Of course!” Hinata squeaked.

Bokuto had noticed the way Sakusa looked at you with what he would call longing. So he clapped Sakusa on the back and laughed. “Our Omi is the funniest of the bunch!” he said, loudly enough that you couldn’t have missed it.

Sakusa should probably have been grateful, but could only bury his face deeper and deeper into his hands as his three friends spent the rest of the evening making it look like he was the funniest guy they ever met. Unfortunately, this was even more embarrassing than them admitting he doesn’t actually laugh around them, ever.

His only comfort after the party was your message asking if he wanted to get a coffee sometime.
