URGENT Call to a Action for Georgia [USA] residents - Say No To HB 30
The Zionist occupation and their allies are co-opting the struggles of antisemitism to silence anti-Zionist dissent. This bill is in direct violation of the First Amendment, which, in Atlanta, is already being tested by ongoing RICO charges raised against Stop Cop City protestors. The noose of fascism is tightening in our state. As outlined in the toolkit linked here, send an e-mail before 2pm tomorrow on Monday 22nd of January 2024, or show up at 4pm in the Coverdell Legislative Office room 307.

Humanity vs Evil
The difference between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is that Trump’s flaws come from a disordered personality and from hatred. Kamala’s flaws come from her humanity. She is human. She is real. She is compassionate and courageous and yeah she did flub up a few interviews as vice president. Because she is a good and genuine human being. She’s been accused of not knowing where she stands because she stands out by not giving the simple easy answers that we crave. She understands the nuance to important issues. Most things are not all or nothing. That is a cognitive bias that all human beings are prone to, but we must fight it. All you have to do to understand who Kamala Harris is, is to read her book. She cares deeply for others and she cares deeply for diversity and justice. When she falls down, because she is human, she fights and gets back up. The things she is criticized for, her joy, her laughter, her occasionally imperfect interviews, her complex view of issues etc., are all things that prove her humanity. We need her leadership. America is a beautiful and wonderful place but we have our skeletons. We have our prejudices. We need to fight them. We need to move towards unity.
Donald Trump has abandoned his humanity a long time ago. I’d argue he abandoned it when Barack Obama became president. He believed his birth certificate conspiracy would have prevented a black man from becoming president, and it didn’t. He knew it was a racist conspiracy. His own mother was an immigrant. It wasn’t about Obama’s father being an immigrant. It was about the color of his skin.
Let’s make the right choice this November. Let’s choose unity. Let’s choose cohesion. Let’s choose justice. Let’s choose a person who does genuinely care about our economic well being.

Protestors have launched an encampment for Gaza and at Emory College here in Atlanta!
They have sent a list of supplies needed. There's already been violent arrests with one student already held down and repeatedly tased.
If you can't make it to donate please send some money to the Atlanta Solidarity Fund to bail out the arrested protestors.

As the Israeli government continues to commit war crimes against the people of Gaza, it’s important to remember how all struggles for justice are interconnected. For instance, the movement to Stop Cop a City here in Atlanta is also a movement to stop US police from collaborating with the Israeli military.
A delegation of Georgia law enforcement representatives pose with members of the Haifa, Israel, Police Department in August 2023. USAmerican and Israeli flags wave above them.
Through the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange (GILEE), Israeli soldiers come to train right here in Georgia, and US police travel to Israel to learn their tactics…which is, frankly, terrifying, and a ludicrously literal example of the militarization of US police.
This relationship between Georgia and Israel has been going on for three decades, since 1992.
(Note that GILEE isn’t the only program in which US police collaborate with the IDF. This article from 2018 goes into more details about what tactics cops from various city police departments across the US have picked up from Israel.)
If Cop City opens, Israeli soldiers will be invited to come train there. Both sides will be able to hone their tactics for brutally stomping out even the most peaceful of protests.
STOP COP CITY. FREE PALESTINE. Here and there, settler-colonialist states target Indigenous lives, Black lives, and other POC.
Our struggles are interwoven. None are free till all, all are free from this imperialist horror.

Aaron Bushnell did not declare “I will no longer be complicit. Free Palestine.” and he did not self-immolate to call for the attention of those in power, he was calling for yours. He wants your eyes on him, he want you to hear him.
So instead of being complicit and allow them reduce a form of protest as radical as self immolation to mean nothing
You should be asking yourself how you too, will no longer be complicit, and how to ensure his self immolation will mean something
#do not allow him to be swept under the rug just like the person who self immolated in atlanta#he is trending right now. keep him trending. keep his words trending. keep *PALESTINE* trending.#aaron bushnell#free palestine#from the river to the sea palestine will be free#palestine#im tired and pissed so if this doesn’t make sense then that’s why. video reposted from @stopcopcity on Instagram.
this morning (4/25) at 7:30a students and protestors set up an encampment on the quad of Emory University in Atlanta demanding the university divest from Israel and connection to Cop City. within three hours ATL PD and Georgia State Patrol began dispersing the crowd with pepper bullets and tear gas and arresting at least 18 people for trespassing. it was reported at least one student was tased repeatedly. Emory administration just locked the majority of campus buildings to card access only and sent an email to faculty, staff, and students denouncing the protests as “completely unacceptable.”

.... California isn’t the only state where Cop Cities are being built. The term first captured national attention in January 2023, when Manual “Tortugita” Teran was killed by police while protesting the Atlanta facility that’s displacing one of the largest urban forests.
The influx of these facilities parallels the emergence of the defund the police movement, which — following the murder of George Floyd in 2020 — saw thousands of people across the country mobilize to decry police violence against Black and brown communities. Within the last five years, there has been a quiet rollout of over 80 multi-million dollar Cop City-like facilities across the country.
This development is raising concerns with anti-police organizers, especially when it comes to the impact on marginalized communities and movements. There is now a facility in almost every state and — according to researcher and mutual aid organizer Renee Johnston — at least 10 states have multiple police compounds.
...
At least seven cities, including Chicago and Baltimore, have allocated over $100 million to their Cop Cities — and many are meant to host international police training programs like the Israeli occupation forces. Activists and scholars have said that Cop Cities are replicated after Israel’s own Cop City, “Little Gaza,” where they “battle-test” violence against Palestinians. This would be an expansion of already existing police training exchange programs that many U.S. states and cities have with Israel.

"Non-Violent" Protests
I recently saw a disturbing video of the anti-war protests currently going on. You may have seen it; several cops are holding down a Black protestor, who is restrained and not resisting. Still, while the protester is being held down by three cops, one uses a taser on this restrained person for several prolonged seconds. The white crowd stands around them doing nothing. Scratch that - a bunch of them are filming - some quickly raise their phones when the tazing begins around 19 seconds in- and I assume they think this is doing something.
Tasers are not a non-lethal weapon! Black people are disproportionately targeted and killed by inappropriate taser use by police, and Black protesters are disproportionately arrested compared to their white peers. Standing there filming knowing you’re in no danger is taking advantage of your white privilege!
The crowd should have stormed those cops the moment the taser came out. Or at least after multiple seconds of contact. There is a single cop with a weapon pulling guard duty, who can easily be dispatched from behind.
When your comrade is being arrested, don't just stand there with your thumb up your ass. DE-ARREST THEM. The cops completely ignored being surrounded by useless observers because they know that getting filmed doesn’t mean shit. Look at their armed guard, his positioning! His weapon at ease and his movements relaxed because he knows none of you represent a threat to him even though you outnumber him ten to one! Meanwhile, look at how many of them it took to restrain this man! You all move in at once, push ‘em away from your comrade, expect resistance so stay together stay tight, protect your comrade so we can get the handcuffs off and get 'em out of there.
These mass protests have served as a perfect example of how non-violent action is a mere spectacle. If you aren’t willing to defend each other from violence, you are a participant in the violence.
I highly recommend Peter Gelderloos’ “How Nonviolence Benefits the State” regarding the tactics of student protestors over the past week. If you really care about putting up a real resistance to systemic violence, then it’s time to start re-educating yourself about what violence is.
