ok this is pretty important for any activists in Australia, I believe there's going to be state elections for Victoria and NSW soon, but from what I know the site will serve the same purpose during the federal elections too
in essence, it's a group that is pushing to have politicians sign a pledge to indicate what actions they're willing to pursue in support of Palestine, and hold them to account if they fail to follow through
everyone should be keeping an eye on this project if they want to vote consciously

July 21, 2024 - Palestine Action activists have broken into two factories which are part of Elbit’s supply chain, causing extensive damage. One group invaded the premises of Manchester-based Dean Group International, and another broke into Ametek Airtechnology in Sunbury on Thames.
Dean Group International uses a specialised technique called “investment casting” to manufacture components for arms companies, including Elbit’s Kent-based subsidiary, Instro Precision. This was verified last month when activists broke into the latter factory.
Ametek Airtechnology specialises in thermal and motion control solutions for weapons including missiles, military vehicles and fighter jets — including Israeli F-35 fighter jets used to bomb in Gaza. Ametek’s subsidiary United Electronic Industries lists Elbit Systems as a “valued customer” – a connection which was also confirmed through sightings of deliveries to Elbit’s Shenstone-based subsidiary, UAV Engines Ltd.
A Palestine Action spokesperson said: “Without suppliers such as Dean Group International and Ametek, Elbit couldn’t make weaponry which is used to commit genocide. Whilst our government continues to facilitate Elbit’s crimes, Palestine Action will continue to use direct action to end the complicity and shut Elbit down”. [video]/[video]

Podcast w/Rania Khalek and Nima Shirazi, link + transcript above ↑
#worth reading/listen to rn seeing how western politicians and the media keeps relying on the 'Big Scary Iran' narrative#to justify the ongoing genocide in gaza#(with iran presented as this 'puppet master' dictating the actions of non-US aligned groups in the region)#before the words 'iran-backed' leaves your mouth you should at least be able to identify who the axis of resistance is and why they exist#also... what happened in iran in 1953? who was mosaddegh? what were his political goals and achievements? and so on#anyway...#palestine#axis of resistance#iran#ansarallah#hezbollah

A little reminder
Supporting Palestine isn't an excuse for antisemitism. Being awful towards Jewish people won't help Palestinians. Jewish people ≠ Zionists. Jewish people are still a marginalized group with a history of being oppressed and, just like Palestinians are dealing with now by Israel, having entire groups of people wanting to eradicate their existence. Contributing to that hatred and stigma will not do anything helpful. It is totally possible to criticize and hate on the government of Israel without dragging innocent Jewish people into your hatred. Many Jewish people have nothing to do with what Israel is doing and do not agree with it either. And even with the ones who do- them being Jewish should not be the target. Because them being Jewish is not the problem, being Jewish did not make them support the genocide of Palestinians even when they try to say that's why they support Israel. They chose that, and their choice to support and/or help Israel is the problem. And there are plenty of non-Jewish people who are also helping and supporting Israel.
Point is, fellow pro-Palestine folks: be fucking normal about Jewish people. The actions of one group never justify bigotry towards an entire minority. Supporting Palestine is not a shield freeing you from the ability to be antisemetic.
#also#ngl#the people using israels actions to justify their hatred of Jewish people#sound EXACTLY like zionists who use Hamas to justify what is happening to Palestine#it's the exact same stupid bigoted logic of 'oh well this one group of Them did Bad Things so all of them are bad'#pro palestine#palestine#free palestine#free gaza#anti zionisim#antisemitism#anti israel

#something something while it is clear that israel is committing unconscionable acts of cruelty and ethnic cleansing#it is very clear - in part by how other similar cruel and genocidal regimes are being perceived/interacted with - that for more people than#i personally am comfortable with#it is because the perpetrators are jewish that people are as hardline and vehement in their support for palestine#it is possible for the world to be supporting israeli crimes against humanity DESPITE the ethnicity and religion of the perpetrators#in fact it is demonstrably occurring which you can see by the fact that largest pro-israel groups are almost all christian death cult orgs#i do get rather tired of some of the conflations being made and flattened because of how excited some folks are to have a good reason#for hating the jews this time#i work very hard not to let this impact my allyship and political actions#but boy howdie is this another area where i expect even a victory to leave me to die

One of them, Walaa, is a 17-year old girl with type-1 diabetes, which has put her at life-threatening risk several times due to a lack of access to insulin. The rest of the children have been exposed to skin diseases and hepatitis. Their goal is to evacuate their children and reunite with them.

Video transcript: Hello, I am Maryam, and this is the tent we are living in now. We were displaced from Rafah to Al-Zawaida about four days ago. We are living in difficult conditions in terms of obtaining food, water and safety, and here near us there is the ruins of a house. I hope you will help me and my family to survive this suffering.

Hello everyone, I'm coming back briefly to share a campaign that needs your help. I was contacted by Maryam (@/ahmad_khalil300) through instagram, she's looking for her family's campaign to be shared widely as it has received very little attention or donations.
-
Here's a little summary on her story:
Maryam's family consists of her mother Manar, her father, 3 sisters (including her and her two sisters, Malak and Maram) and 2 brothers (Sajid and Muhammad)
Before october 7th, they were living a happy and peaceful life. Maryam was studying at university, specializing as Doctor of Pharmacy. Her little brother, Muhammad, was coursing school and playing in the school's football team.
However, these dreams were shattered. They were forced to flee their home due to heavy bombing and are now living in a tent, under deadly condiitons due to bad weather, contaminated water and canned foods, which have caused them serious illnesses unable to be treated due to the lack of medication, painkillers or hospitals. Maryam suffers from extreme stomach pain while her mother and sister, Manar, suffer from kidney pain.
Their goal is to reach $35,000 ($5,000 per person) to be able to cross the Gaza border into Egypt, as well as accommodation expenses and life necessities. The children are looking forward resuming their studies and have a possibility of a better life.
[Image ID: Three pictures from Maryam's GoFundMe campaign
Picture 1: A photo collage of Maryam's family looking gleefully at the camera.
Picture 2: Mohammed pulling a makeship cart with two water containers and a bucket through an unpaved road.
Picture 3: Collage of two photos. The left one shows a camp with tents near view. They're surrounded by hand and an unknown source of water. The right picture shows their tent from the inside, full of covers and a small appliance on the back. /End ID]
As always, please read about their stories through their on words in their GoFundMe page.
-
[Image ID: Screenshot from Maryam's GoFundMe page. The title reads "Help save Maryam's family from the scourge of war", accompanied by a header image of a collage of family photos, as described above. The fundraiser is organized by Ahmed Khaliel and it has gathered £1,386 pounds from its £50,000. /end ID]
As of September 17th, the campaign has only managed to reach £1,386 from its £50,000 goal, not even reaching a fourth of the final amount.
Can we help this family reach their goal and have a chance of a better future? Please share here or on IG and donate whatever you can!
You can contact Maryam, follow her for updates and share her posts through her instagram accounts, @/ahmad_khalil300 and @/maryam_len2

Having self worth issues about the stupidest shit possible so lets focus instead on my courgette plants that are now FLOWERING
#I'm actually going to describe what i'm mad at myself about so#We can all roll our eyes about it together#Myself & another activist are the main ones pushing our local Palestine solidarity group to do more BDS actions.#& we had two events about it this week. One had less than 10 people show up including the two of us#WHICH ACTUALLY. IS NOT BAD AT ALL GIVEN THE SIZE OF THE TOWN#Population percentage wise that's like having 7500 ppl turn up at ur event in Dublin!! I should feel good about it#And then today on no notice I was asked to speak to a crowd of ppl about BDS#So I. Just kind of winged it. Wung it. Gave a very basic intro to bds & namechecked some companies & mentioned upcoming local events.#& then after that when talking to ppl in the crowd it transpired that all of them already knew the info I shared#But had little hope that anything we can do will have any effect in stopping the genocide & freeing Palestine#So i'm GUTTED I wasted an opportunity to mention the very real and very many successes of BDS & other boycott movements around the world#& also am having major imposter syndrome about presuming to be able to speak about BDS to an audience of ppl who are as knowledgeable as me#If not moreso!#So between these incidents & learning recently that someone I considered a friend doesn't consider me a friend i'm.....sad!#Local woman has self worth issues about not being able to single handedly end a genocide. And topple the western empire.#And not having many friends in her late 20s.#Its grrrrrreat 🙄

you couldn’t fucking make this up. a conservative mp practically endorsed israel’s actions because it’s ‘intolerable’ to allow an organisation committed to destroying its entire people to run a country. like…it sure is intolerable isn’t it. imagine having an organisation or, say, an entire government focused on destroying you and your people. imagine watching that on your screens and believing it’s the people under genocide who are the murderers.
#free palestine#Palestine#like do i endorse hamas and their actions? no of course i don’t. but hamas stopped being an excuse months ago#one group does not qualify the annihilation of an entire people

Antisemitism is never correct, but any discussion of Palestinian antisemitism has to have some nuance. If I was being oppressed by a group of people, had my home taken from me by them, bombed everyday by them, have my food and water supply cut off by them, and the only example I see of them are soldiers who point guns at me, I would absolutely believe that group of people was evil. I would not be allocating any of my precious energy to having a more enlightened viewpoint about my oppressors if my primary concern was staying alive. I would not be particularly interested in reading history books about my oppressors if I was digging through the rubble for my family’s bodies. I would not really want to meet or become friends with someone from that group if I got my leg blown off by one of their bombs. So yeah a pretty large number of Palestinians are antisemitic, but if your primary focus over the past few months has been scolding Palestinian people who are perhaps not wording their anti-Israeli sentiments the most delicately, you are are ignorant at best, or you’re just a Zionist in denial.
#a quality post by me#antisemites fuck off though for real#just because I have nuance about this topic does not mean I will tolerate antisemitism#it’s not right to judge a group by the actions of a fascist state that claims to be their country of origin#free palestine#free gaza#stand with gaza#palestine#anti zionisim

u ever see a mildly iffy post and look at the comments and just think “wow, everyone here is so fucking unpleasant in their own special way”
#comments on a post abt i/p stuff nd no one can grasp the concept of it not being 1000% black and white#it’s possible for both groups to be indigenous to palestine and it’s possible for both groups to not be able to “return to where they came#from”#as yk from what i know it’s pretty impossible to leave gaza at all and also most israelis r refugees from really bad antisemitism or r#descended from them#and also its possible to talk abt hamas and antisemitism w/o denying the genocide going on and vice versa#and its really fucking easy to not dehumanise regular israelis/jews and palestinians/arabs#like it’s so very easy to not do that#innocent palestinians don’t deserve to die bcz of the actions of hamas#innocent israelis don’t deserve to die bcz of the actions of the idf#and neither deserve to be displaced (probably into unsafe conditions) bcz u don’t think they’re indigenous enough#so many of u act like either palestine is just a country of antisemitic terrorists or israel’s full of fascist soulless militants#both r incredibly xenophobic (and racist or antisemitic to be more specific abt it)#idk i’m just so tired of ur ability to not be normal abt this while there r people dying#i would say “it’s online discourse ppl r just like that” except this is very much bleeding into real life and existed before the internet#long before the internet#so it does very much affect real life so idk just be better please#sorry tangent in the tags#ryan shut the fuck up#antisemitism#racism

i wish trying to do things with groups of people was not the most horrible time wasting activity on earth
#just went to local palestine action group meeting because i wanted to figure out if i could carpool to protest this weekend and the answer#was yes but then i spent the next hour and 15 minutes standing in a circle with people repeating the same things back to each other#like ok we are all here because we know it's bad. can we not talk endlessly in circles PLEASE#they did have other things planned but their speaker couldn't make it or whatever but like a bunch of people turned up anyway and i feel#like we could have accomplished something besides talking about how bad genocide is and what documentary they're wanting to show later#i should have known better and just emailed but whatever.....i did connect with someone i can get a ride with who lives in my town but then#they did not offer me a ride back when they left and i wasnt sure if it was socially acceptable to ask so i didnt so then i had to walk 20#minutes to the bus stop and supposedly the bus is coming in a couple minutes but of course. it won't#i'm so annoyed lmao i'm not going to get home until almost 9 and its going to be pitch black and there are no streetlights and i already#barely know where i'm going#not usually one to experience hanger but i definitely have barely eaten anything today and am angry but maybe for separate reasons#i can't even decide what i want for dinner!!!! goddammit#if i didn't have tomorrow off i might get lost in the ocean fr#me

anon who sent me this, tumblr won’t let me respond to your anon so i’m replying like this.
#israel#palestine#i want every antisemite equating jewish ppl to israel’s actions to pay attention#and notice how one of the most vocal people (especially considering their size!!) against this right now are jewish people#do not use what’s happening to palestinians as an excuse to unleash your antisemitism. jewish ppl are innocent. target ur anger at the right#groups or don’t target it at anyone at all.
