Thinking about how pale ore is eerily chill to the touch

about how PV's spells, likely learnt from its father, take on the same shape as nails made out of an ore allegedly related to its parents

about how those spells are pretty much a solid state of soul for a few moments about how solid state of matter is often the most "cold" state, generally speaking

about how cold it's often associated with lack of emotion and corpses

Also thinking about how the knight's spells, learned from the snails, is more raw, more volatile

stated and shown to literally burn opponents, more of a hot blast than a proper solid mass

shaped and named after haunting ghosts, spectres that do not lay to rest, despite soul itself being present in the whole environment and not necesarily directly linked to sentient beings

about how it is strong emotions what fuels their transformation into their more powerful state through the usage of void, a volatile yet maleable substance, and the opposite of light

Seeing Vika's hair (specifically the patch where its a different color, at his nape) for some reason makes me think a lot of Saran running his hands through it, when they're cuddling

It's like a 'pet here' spot lol. It stands out. Why is that part black? The rest of his hair is pale due to the parasite, so why not that area?

the answer is so simple its definitely anticlimatic but its black because...he dyes it AHHAKJSBCDKJ

when vika noticed his hair losing color, he experimented w dye bc while he cant do anything about losing his senses more and more, he can at least bring some color back into his hair. he settled on the black underfloof since he likes the look the most so far ahsbc (its also less of a hassle to touch it up unlike when you fully dye your hair)

dunno if some noticed but in the ghost touch side story (tw for vikas suicide ideation) or the AU doodles, u can see baby vika natural hair

and yes!! im sure i doodled that a few times too bc i (and them ofc heheh) love it; saran running his fingers through the hair at his nape, gently scratching and tugging on the strands. running his fingertips along his neck until they dip into his collar. holding the back of his head when he leans into a kiss.....sighhhh

every time I see a non-elezen player describe duskwights as primarily defined by having dark skin, I kind of wince

because no actually, not every elezen with a dark skin color is a duskwight! carvallain and jannequinard are wildwoods! marcechamp, from tailfeather? wildwood. lucianne from the archers guild? wildwood.

and sure, there are a couple of prominent duskwight characters with darker skin- grinnaux (who is technically a modified wildwood with the duskwight version of face 1’s scars) and foulques. but. it’s a weird misconception to have when characters like liavinne, shale, jandelaine, mother miounne, and ysayle exist.

and when the character creation can be accessed by anyone to check this. the only playable race in ffxiv that is divided into clans with dark and light skin colors is viera. elezen have the same range of options as miqo’te! but somehow I never see keepers of the moon described as being distinct from seekers in terms of skin color in the same way as elezen.

Man idk the argument about hvy being a Chinese company and so they're restricted on having characters with dark skin tones when dislyte is ALSO a Chinese company and they typically are really good at representing the culture they take from for their characters makes it somewhat mute
