You just made my day! I have been on Tumblr since 2016, but was a Live Journal girl back in my youth (99-01). As for John, I've been unabashedly in love with the dead man for 30 years. (Pathetic, really) he just makes me happy regardless of what goes on.

McLennon is a realization I made in 2016. I had been a fan for years, but didn't search out a fandom until I stumbled across fanfics on google. (fun fact, I wrote Beatles fanfic in high school before I understood what fanfic actually was!). I learned about Ao3 and the rest just fell into place. It makes so much sense. Once you see them together in archive footage, it's impossible to look at them as only platonic.

I can't believe you like my fics! I haven't written in so long. I have been working on one based on the Caversham trip, but it is extremely slow going because my personal life is incredibly busy.

I feel like I have to defend myself because I'm a Beatle-John fan. I hide this bit here because I know he what he did and not always did great things. But there are so many rock stars, pop stars, movie stars that are worshipped today that did more horrible things in the past than he did. But they are forgiven. Because they are still alive and was allowed to live longer and create new better ways to live. People greaved John's death then they made him something he never claimed to be and somehow punish him still today. I don't quite get it. Is it John's fault that some Beatle historians favors John? Like there aren't fans who favors Paul or George and makes them saints of the world? Ringo is totally left out and thinks he was like a innocent house pet or something. Men are scum bags to women all the time. Yet we have Donald Trump running a second time for president! People are insane! I'm not defending him but yez he wasn't even that bad in comparing to the masses of others. People that knew him wouldn't have any good to say about him if he wasn't. John was also a victim so was the other three.

I absolutely sympathize with you anon. John gets a bad rap most of the time and so much is pure ignorance.

He was not perfect, but admitted his faults and apologized. This is more than MANY celebrities would ever fathom. You can't tell me that the other Beatles weren't terrible in their own ways.

This is why I stay away from Instagram and TikTok because you get the same old "he was a wife b**ter" bullshit that has been debunked.

The man had unprocessed trauma throughout his life and never recovered from it. I feel like he should get a pass from some of the shit he said and did. BUT as a feminist, he should be accounted for.

Ugh, the state of America right now is horrendous. Id rather have a damaged man like John run things than the orange freak who makes my skin crawl. At least if John was president, acid would be legal.
