In 1899, Captain Jack Harkness was sought out by the Torchwood institute who recognized his healing ability and picked up on him talking about (a time traveling alien known as) the Doctor and recruited him. Having been told by a fortune teller that he wouldnât catch up with the Doctor for at least a century, Jack decided to join them to fill the time. ("Fragments", Torchwood, TV)

Pronouns: She/Her
Date of Death: September 28th, 1985
Voice Claim: Baby Box (Gabbyâs Dollhouse)

Name (Nicknames): Gabriel Stauffer (Gabe)
Age, DOB: 5, March 13th, 1980
Nationalities: African-American

Date of Death: September 29th, 1985
Voice Claim: Dash (The Incredibles)
Personality Description: Gabe is a loving child with a heart of gold. He is described by his father as a âlion-childâ, taking it upon himself to stand up for those around him (especially his friends) even if his pudgy, petite appearance isnât intimidating in the slightest. Gabe is, however, very gullible and easily falls victim to lies and false promises if they involve his friends and/or family.
Possesses: Freddy Fazbear, Funtime Freddy, Ennard/Molten Freddy
Name (Nickname): Jeremy Roberto Doherty (Jerry)
Age, DOB: 14, December 10th, 1970
Nationalities: Ukrainian-American
Pronouns: He/They
Date of Death: September 29th, 1985
Voice Claim: Lloyd Garmadon (Ninjago)
Personality Description: Despite his eccentric clothing choices, Jeremy is a timid boy who prefers to stay in the background of things. They derive most, if not all, of his confidence from his friends, especially from their best friend (and wouldâve-been younger brother) Gabriel. They make him feel strong, and he has a subconscious need to protect them.
Possesses: Bonnie Bunny, Funtime Freddy, Ennard/Molten Freddy
(Note: Jeremy wouldâve been adopted by Gabrielâs family if they had survived. Sadly, both of them had died before that could happen).
Name (Nicknames): Francis Reynolds (Fritz)
Age, DOB: 9, July 29th, 1976
Nationalities: Canadian-American
Pronouns: He/Him
Date of Death: September 30th, 1985
Voice Claim: Lewis Robinson (Meet The Robinsons)
Personality Description: Fritz is, for the most part, an average boy. He enjoys drawing and making pictures of him and his friends together, especially so with his best friend, Andrew. Fritz is standoffish and a tad bit awkward, but is not socially adverse.
Possesses: Foxy the Pirate Fox, Funtime Foxy, Ennard/Molten Freddy
Name (Nicknames): Cassidy Coney (Cassie)
Age, DOB: 9, October 1st, 1976
Nationalities: Indian-American
Pronouns: They/Them
Date of Death: October 1st, 1985
Voice Claim: Vee Noceda (The Owl House)
Personality Description: Though selectively mute, Cassidy has no problem helping their friends when/if they need it. They are deeply empathetic and acts as a backbone to their friend group. Typically, Cassidy is a very passive, non-violent person; but, if somebody presents themselves as a threat to those they love, they will stop at nothing to raise hellfire on them.
Possesses: Golden Freddy/Fredbear, Funtime Freddy, Ennard/Molten Freddy
Name (Nicknames): Andrew Smith (Andie)
Age, DOB: 9, July 29th, 1976
Nationalities: Mexican-American
Pronouns: He/They
Date of Death: October 1st, 1985
Voice Claim: Ronno (Bambi)
Personality Description: Andrew is a soft-spoken and mild-mannered young boy. He prefers talking and grouping up with his friends, especially with his best friend Fritz. Andrew loves giving his friends gifts, which included paying for some of their things (such as food and tickets). Unfortunately, when faced with any form of danger, he instinctively shuts down and is of little use/help.
Possesses: Golden Freddy/Fredbear, Funtime Foxy, Ennard/Molten Freddy
elizabeth, sammy, charlie, and mikey will probably be next:o)
(edit: maybe if we all pretend that susieâs security bracelet is colored it will be)

Amell, Bernthal, Cox, Van Dien Added To FAN EXPO Philadelphia Lineup, June 2-4
Things just got a lot more interesting for fans of a few blockbuster franchises as FAN EXPO Philadelphia today announced a new slate of key additions to its already outstanding lineup of guests. âArrowâ star Stephen Amell, âPunisherâ standout Jon Bernthal, âDaredevilâ headliner Charlie Cox and âStranger Thingsâ breakout Grace Van Dien will now be attending the event, June 2-4 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Advanced Tickets for FAN EXPO Philadelphia are on sale through May 18 at www.fanexpophiladelphia.com, with discounts on individual day, 3-day and Ultimate Fan Packages available for adults, youths and families. VIP packages are also available now, with dozens of special benefits including priority entry, limited edition collectibles, exclusive items and much more.
Amell teams with fellow âArrowâ cast member Emily Bett Rickards; Cox joins âDaredevilâ co-star Vincent DâOnofrio; and Van Dien pairs with Joseph Quinn as a âStranger Thingsâ tandem at the show.
They complement the other previously announced FAN EXPO Philadelphia guests, led by icon Michael J Fox, his Back to the Future costars Christopher Lloyd and Tom Wilson; Henry Winkler (âHappy Days,â âBarryâ); Christina Ricci (âThe Addams Family,â âWednesdayâ); Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Spider-Man); Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings, Rudy); Peter Weller (Robocop, Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension); Katee Sackhoff (âThe Mandalorian,â âBattlestar Galactica); and Bonnie Wright (Harry Potter). Additional celebrities, voice actors, creators, cosplayers exhibitors and programming for this major comics, sci-fi, horror, literary, anime and gaming convention will be announced closer to the event.
Known to millions as the crime-fighting vigilante in the title role of âOliver Queen/Green Arrowâ in the eponymous hit CW series, as well as âThe Flash,â âSupergirl,â âBatwoman,â âDCâs Legends of Tomorrowâ and other iterations, Stephen Amell has also appeared as a series regular in numerous shows, prominently "Hung," "Private Practice" and "Heartland." He also had recurring roles in "New Girl" opposite Zooey Deschanel and "Private Practice" as the love interest to Amy Brenneman.
Jon Bernthal played the lead âFrank Castleâ in the Netflix Marvel series âDaredevilâ after a popular run as âShane Walshâ in the AMC hit drama âThe Walking Dead.â The classically trained Bernthal most recently starred in last yearâs âAmerican Gigoloâ on Showtime and has appeared in such large-scale productions as World Trade Center, The Pacific and Rampart, and has had guest roles on top TV series like "CSI: Miami," "Boston Legal," "Without a Trace" and "How I Met Your Mother."
Charlie Cox has had more than 40 screen credits, with his role as âMatt Murdockâ on âDaredevilâ (reprised in âShe-Hulkâ and Spider-Man: No Way Home) the most prominent. He gained wide notice for his portrayal of âOwen Sleaterâ in the HBO period drama âBoardwalk Empireâ and played the lead role of âMichael Kinsellaâ in the AMC+ crime drama series âKin.â
One of the breakout stars of this past season on âStranger Things,â Grace Van Dien has earned a fervent following for her role as âChrissy Cunningham,â the latest among her 30+ credits. She was also a regular on the NBC drama âThe Villageâ and portrayed real-life actress Sharon Tate in the film Charlie Says, based on the Charles Manson murders.
Philadelphia is the eighth event on the 2023 FAN EXPO HQ calendar; the full schedule is available at fanexpohq.com/home/events/.

So, itâs âall or nothingâ time, âEmmerdaleâ.
After indulging in some relaxation by going tanning, stock-preparation shopping with Jameson whiskey and a box of Girl Scout Cookies - Tagalongs (thank gaud itâs the season for them - weâre talking full-on depression-level cookie here - a cookie/biscuit that is topped with smooth, rich, peanut butter and covered in creamy chocolate, and actually feeling good about the purchase, because the girls whom I bought from are Muslim* - I need to emphasize all of the positivity in my life right now for the obvious reasons), I came home, watched tonightâs episode, ate an entire row of cookies after the dinner I ate while watching the episode, listened to some City And Colour, and did some thinking.
... So, I get sucked in, to the point of blogging about, only by characters/pairings whom I find very relatable on a deeply personal level, so, obviously, thereâs an intensity to my life and relations that lends itself to my shipping Robron in the first place, not to mention every thing that theyâve been through up until this point, and angst in storylines usually feels cathartic because of that symbiosis. Am I an Aaron to a Robert? Yes, though, weâre both more like a blend of both than we are distinctly one and the other. Has she gone cold and harsh to me when I needed her most like Robert did to Aaron (as told to Rebecca) at The Mill? Yes. The difference(s)? We werenât (newly!) married!, hell, we werenât even together, so cheating wasnât even an issue, she had no idea that I was going through additional emotional turmoil that wasnât about what was going on between us (Robert does know, and in no vague way, just not every single detail), what I did to her was so much worse, and personally afflicting, than Aaron doing, and mulling, drugs in prison is for Robert, and - hereâs where I think the show really screwed up - I could sense the turn coming, and for much longer than any one deserves, whereas Robert seemed to just flip a switch (yes, that has been Robertâs M.O. in the past, but, given what weâve been shown since the start of their genuine relationship, I thought that we were supposed to assume that was just an aspect of being in an affair, eliciting self-preservation, and that we were seeing new ways of Robert dealing with upheaval, and good on Paul Coates for trying to convey that Robert had, in fact, seamlessly reverted back to his âtypical Robert waysâ today in yesterdayâs second episode, but fucking Bill Taylor gave no indication that was the case in said episode). Iâve seen other viewers comment on how even Ryanâs acting testified to how plainly wrong that scene was by being off (and not in a âplaying drunkâ way), and I agree, it was like he couldnât bring himself to completely sell the scene (much like Noel Fisher as Mickey in 6.01). It just didnât look natural and it seemed to not feel natural for Ryan (and, again, no, not in a âcharacter in Self-Destructive Modeâ way, just off). ... âFlipping a switchâ is a poor choice of words, because thatâs how it always is, regardless of being able to see it coming or not. The true faults lie with there not being enough of a climax during the latest prison visit to set Robert off, any signs in that scene that he was going to, it not being clear that he was mad at Aaron, and not just the situation, as he smashed up The Mill (a good example of tension before a switch flips for Self-Destruct/Preservation Modes would be how Jane Pearson and Owen Lloyd-Fox wrote Aaron at the lodge - you knew that heâd had hit a new low with a lover, and that he wanted to hate Robert, and himself for loving him, but what was also obvious was that him telling Robert that hatred was real, and not just how he wanted to feel, were lies, and that there was hope), unnecessarily dragging Aaron beneath Rebecca (she would have slept with Robert with out that particular lie being told), and not any where near enough hidden insecurity seeping through as he convinced Rebecca to sleep with him. ... Itâs as though Ryanâs perceived detachment from the scene made Robertâs words more believable (when weâre so used to seeing right through him, because the insecurity has been glaring, because of Ryanâs presence). All of the writers need to understand that these grievances, and not the actual cheating, are what many of us are really bothered by, and that what grieves us, again, not the actual cheating, but the way in which it was done, is whatâs harmful to bisexual representation, because it paints us as easily provoked, short-sighted, and viciously vengeful.
I know that itâs clear that weâre supposed to have hope, and that theyâll come out this even stronger, but, when youâve got me questioning if a relationship is too toxic, you might want to pull back on the tribulation.
I say both of the following things very cautiously:
Iâm either filling in for Aaron Fan on my own new to-be-created channel, especially as John Do is no longer uploading their scenes, (for those of you whom donât know, Aaron Fanâs clips are public again, but they are taking a hiatus from uploading new clips) ... or Iâm not even blogging about Robronâs storyline any more. Itâll depend on how they continue to handle the fallout in next weekâs episodes (the prior is honestly more probable).
(I cannot fucking believe that Japril, one of my extremely rare, and normally not blog-worthy, straight ships, whom have been going through shit for how long now?, are the ones filling me with so much hope for happiness right now ... gah, I miss being able to have two conversations at once - one emotionally deep and one distractingly strategic - with some one!)
*=As an American, it is my right, and duty, to oppose a reckless administration that was put in place by treasonous circumstances, and, at this point, one of the of most virtuous ways I can do that is by supporting young girls whom are being taught to be strong, independent, knowledgeable, and kind to the earth, and whom just happen to be of a targeted, and oppressed, religion.

Remember When:
Cameron escaped from prison and took half the village hostage at The Woolpack. As Zak tried to overpower him, Cameron shot the gun and Alicia collapsed. And while the villagers pleaded with him to let Alicia out to the paramedics, Cameron continued to insist that "one more won't hurt" and that he just wanted to Debbie to love him again. Debbie, however, destroyed Dan's plan for them to get the gun by betraying everyone by shouting that it was a trap... Eventually Debbie convinced Cameron that if he let everyone go they could be together again, so Cameron let David get Alicia to help before allowing everyone but Debbie and Chas to leave... Whom he then ordered to decide between them who should die and who should stay with him, after realising Debbie had tricked him again... And then Marlon woke up, after having been knocked out by Cameron, and he and Cameron struggled as Chas and Debbie tried to escape - but the cellar had flooded because of the storm... Cameron attempted to drown all three of them before Marlon eventually escaped, later followed by Chas... And after one last attempt to drag Debbie beneath the water with him, Debbie also managed to escape before Cameron killed himself by grabbing hold of a light bulb...

Andyâs exitâŚ
I just have to give a nod here about Andyâs final exit episodes (actually, the entirety of that week really) which I personally thought were great.
Robert had come back from being off screen for almost two weeks with a bang - to help his brother - with some of the most memorable writing quotes (courtesy of Owen Lloyd-Fox, Paul Roundell, Chris Gill and Isabel Cameron) and our lads worked together (briefly unfortunately before IMâs poor creation made their appearance) to try to nail the Whites. Plus, we had the quite memorable âget stuck in the engineâŚâ scene.
What is actually great about that week is that we saw that when push came to shove, Andy was still Robertâs brother and he would do whatever it took to get him his life back and bring down the Whites (heâs probably living a grand life now on the run while Robert is stuck in prison so the favored son still got off better). This also made me sad that it was actually the end of Andyâs character and any further development and growth between the two is now lost. They tidied them as being true brothers once again in their final scene together.
What we also got after that is Robert asking Aaron the question what if it was Liv? And well, we all know what the answer would be then and to this date.
THIS was when the show was in top form and THIS is the show I miss, one where plot wasnât priority/in your face 24/7 to the detriment of all their characters but that changed soon enough after SSW2016 đ.

Conversation
The Scrapyard Safe
Robert: Are you alright? You look a bit... jumpy.
Aaron: What d'ya want?
Robert: Nice to see you, too.
Aaron: I'm busy.
Robert: Alright, so I'll just, er, pick up this month's report and go then. Adam said it was finally ready. (Aaron hands the report over) Heard that Chas was getting back together with your dad. It's every kid's dream, isn't it? Parents getting back together?
Aaron: Not mine.
Robert: Do you wanna talk about it? (sits down) A brew would be nice.
Aaron: Make it yourself. I've gotta go. (leaves, Robert goes over to the table, finds Aaron's note) Aaron? (runs outside) What the hell do'ya mean you're leaving? For good?
Aaron: It's none of your business.
Robert: Have you got in trouble with the police again? Are you doing a runner?
Aaron: No.
Robert: Aaron!
Aaron: I just need to get away for a bit.
Robert: Why you doing it in secret then? Aaron, why you're running away?
Aaron: Because there's nothing left for me here now.
Robert: That's not exactly true, is it? Aaron? You alright? Your arm's... (Aaron passing out) Aaron? Aaron! Aaron! Aaron! Aaron! What's happened? (pushes his sleeve up) Oh God! What've you done? Hang on, hang on, it's gonne be alright. ((drags him to his car)

Chapter 16 -- Perfect Harmony | Charlie Gillespie
Summary: Emily Fox is a talented 17-year-old with a passion for all things music. Her dream is to become a successful singer-songwriter one day. But to achieve that dream, she needs to get into one of the most prestigious music schools in her district â itâs all been part of her plan since she was six. Sadly enough, those schools cost a ton of money that her parents donât want to invest. They donât even want her to pursue her dream. So, now Emilyâs hustling, working at the music store to save up to get into college. Thatâs until she meets Charlie, an annoying seventeen-year-old boy with the same dream as her. The only difference is, heâs just doing it. He doesnât need a fancy college to pursue his dream to become famous with his band. He just writes his songs and books small gigs here, there and everywhere. Will meeting Charlie defer her from her dream college, or will he actually help her achieve the dream?
Pairing: Charlie Gillespie x OC (Emily Fox)
Warnings: mentions of death, sexual assault
Important note: the characters of Charlie, Owen, Jeremy and Madison are based on the characters they play on the show and i do not own their names, only OC are mine. The songs arenât mine either, theyâre all from the show except for one.
The song used in this chapter is Sirens by Cher Lloyd
~|Charlie Gillespie|~
A few days go by and none of them are spend without Emily. We help around at the Music Store, write songs, rehearse, and then I drop Emily off at her house where we say goodbye for a good fifteen minutes. âYouâre going home today?â she asks me on Thursday evening. Weâre in front of the red door, my arms wrapped around her waist and hers around my neck, her fingers tangled up in my hair. âI donât know yet. Iâm okay in Jeremyâs garage.â She raises an eyebrow at me. âIâm sure your parents are worried about you, Charlie.â I avoid her gaze by looking somewhere behind her to try and figure out what to tell her. âHey,â her voice makes me refocus on her. âTake it from me, running away from your parents isnât the right option.â âThen why did you?â She releases her grip around my neck and places her hands on my chest, pushing me away a little. âI didnât run away, Charles. This is different. I would go back to my parentsâ if theyâd let me.â âRight, sorry.â I tuck a strand of her long brown hair behind her ear. âIâll go back tomorrow, okay? I canât face them yet.â âYou promise?â âI promise.â A smile breaks through on her face just before she leans in to kiss me one more time. âGood night, Emily Fox.â I plant a kiss on her forehead and step away from her. âGood night, Charlie Gillespie.â She stays put, watching me as I walk away. I turn around once more to throw her a kiss, which she cutely plucks out of the air. Iâm so in love with this girl, Iâd do anything for her. Even going back to my parentsâ house. Anything to make her happy.
I donât hear from or see Emily the next day. She doesnât respond to my texts about the new melody I came up with last night or any of my hilarious memes Iâd send her during class. Sheâs not even at the Music Store when I arrive after school. I figure somethingâs held her up again and decide to just play around with the Black Fender since Ash is too busy with the customers to ask her. Fridays seem busy. The boys arrive around 7 when the buzz in the store has finally died down. âHey, what are you guys doing here?â Ash finally notices us, a confused look on her face. âWaiting for Emily for band practice,â I reply, placing the guitar back in its place. Ashâs eyes widen and her lips part to let out a huff. âShe didnât tell you what day it is today?â The boys and I exchange glances to check if either of them knows. âHer uncle passed away exactly one year ago. She asked for a day off, and Iâm pretty sure she didnât go to school either.â I swallow a lump in my throat. I canât believe she didnât tell either of us. âWhy didnât she say anything?â Owen whispers, that worried look on his face. The same look he had when things didnât go too well with his sister. A look he seemed to have reserved for the girls he considers his sisters or are his sisters. âShe spent this day last year with Mitch, closed off from the world,â Ash replies as she starts sorting through the invoices, which is normally my job when Emily has to close the store. âDo you think sheâd appreciate some visitors?â Jeremy asks Ash. âIâm not sure. You could always try? Just donât push it,â she replies. The boys glance at each other again, all three of us knowing what to do. âAnd if you do see her, wish her my best.â âWe will,â says Owen, âThanks, Ash.â âNo problem.â We leave the store, and suddenly, everything around me seems glum and dark. âWeâll just go check up on her, see if sheâll appreciate some company,â Jeremy suggests. âIf sheâd rather be alone, weâll leave straight away,â I agree and then lead the boys to Emilyâs house. The road Iâve taken many a times with her before. The road that seems so endless all of a sudden. The road with the red door at the end of it. Even that door seems looming now. We ring the doorbell and wait until Mitch opens the door. His eyes look red and puffy, and heâs in his joggers with a blanket wrapped around him. âOh, hey, boys,â he greets solemnly and sniffles. âWe heard from Ash what today is,â Owen starts, âWe wanted to come and see if thereâs anything we can do?â Mitch opens the door a little further and steps aside, letting us in. We find Emily in the living room, wrapped up in a blanket with tears running down her face and tissues all around her. My heart breaks at the sight of a broken down Emily. âEmsâŚâ I whisper, catching her attention. She turns her head, her teary eyes wide at the sight of us before she breaks down into sobs again. Her frail body rises from the couch and walks up to us, straight into my arms. As if on automatic, I wrap her up in my arms and start rubbing her back comfortingly. The boys even wrap their arms around us into a group hug. âIs there anything we can do?â Owen asks both Emily and Mitch when we pull away from the hug. âGet you some food orââ he gets cut off by the doorbell ringing. While Mitch goes to open up, Emily looks up at me with sadness looming all around her.  âCan you guys just stay?â she asks with a sniffle. âYeah, of course,â I reply, tucking a strand of hair thatâs stuck to her cheek from the tears, behind her ear. âAnything for you, Emily.â She grabs my hand and leads me towards the couch, the boys following suit. âMadison brought us food,â Mitch announces when he walks back in with Madison behind him. âMom made some lasagna when I told her what today was,â she explains, placing the tray onto the kitchen table before joining us in the living room. âHey, boys,â she gives us a wave, which all of us return. âHow are you feeling?â She walks up to Emily and presses a kiss to her hair. âBetter now,â she manages a thankful smile through all the tears. âYou guys want anything to drink?â Mitch asks. âIâll get it,â Madison chimes in, âYou sit down.â Mitch obeys like a lost puppy and takes a seat on Emilyâs other side. âWhat do you guys want? Emily, some lemonade?â The sad girl beside me nods her head before placing it onto my shoulder. âBoys?â âSame,â I reply simply, and Jeremy and Owen tell her the same. âWhy didnât you tell me last night what today was?â I carefully ask, placing my arm around her shoulder, so her head lands on my chest instead. âI kind of forgot,â she chuckles tearfully, âI only remembered when I was writing a song upstairs and it reminded me of him a little and then, you know, I was reminded of what day it was. Iâm sorry.â âThatâs okay, I just got worried when I didnât hear from you or see you in the store,â I tell her. Madison hands out the lemonades and takes a seat on the couch. âWe asked Ash if she knew if you were up for some company,â Jeremy adds after sipping from his drink. âShe wasnât sure, but we wanted to check up on you anyway and see if we could do anything.â She lifts her head from my chest and eyes the three of us with a small smile cracking through her pale complexion. Thatâs when I notice sheâs not wearing any makeup and her hair is scraped up messily. Still, she appears breathtaking. âIâm glad you guys came over,â she admits, and it makes me smile. âLast year, we spend this day at the hospital and then several weeks home,â Mitch chimes in. âWe just sat on the couch, ate tubs of ice cream, watched movies and cried. My sister was the only one we saw when she came to check up on us and brought some food.â âRemember what Bobby said just before he died?â Emily asks her uncle, fresh tears pooling her eyes while a smile tugs at her lips at the memory. âYou got to keep on dreaming, Emmy. Catch that feeling,â They quote in unison. I realize thatâs why she got so mad when I called her âEmmyâ. Itâs what her uncle used to call her. Itâs reserved for just him. âHow did your uncle die?â Owen asks cautiously, âIf you donât mind me asking.â âUhm⌠He got into an accident,â Emily replies, wiping an escaped tear away, âHe was on his way home from this musical conference thing, I donât remember what it was, and the bus he was on crashed and flipped upside down. Several people died that day.â âHe had a collapsed lung and several broken bones. He stayed alive for an hour or so more, until Ems and I got to the hospital, and then he slowly went,â Mitch adds. âHe waited for us, wanting to see us one more time before he left,â Emily sobs, and I press her closer to me. âI canât believe his sister didnât even come to say goodbye.â âYour mother was in New York, Muffin. She wouldnât have made it in time.â âShe came home a week after he died for the funeral, Mitch. She didnât even try to come and see him.â I flinch at the volume and anger in her voice. Her parents donât only not care about their own daughter, they didnât care about her uncle. Probably because heâs the one that put that dream of hers in her head. Heâs the one that introduced her to music. Mitch turns to us now, the sad smile still on his face, and says, âThe funeral really was beautiful though. Just like Robert wouldâve wanted it. Emily wrote a beautiful song and we had a professional singer come in since she couldnât do it without breaking down. We almost made it into a whole musical, didnât we, Muffin?â Emily cracks a smile, nodding. âHe wouldâve loved that so much,â she sniffles. âCan you sing it for me, Muffin?â Her breath hitches in her throat. Sheâs thinking about it. I can tell by the way she freezes, then rubs her nose once. âPlease?â Emily gets up and grabs my hand, beckoning everyone to follow her. She leads me down a hallway and into a large room at the very back of the house. The lights flicker on, revealing an entire studio. Instruments everywhere, pretty much every instrument that exists, and even a recording booth in the corner. My eyes scan the room before landing on Emily. Sheâs staring into the room too, as if taking it all in. âI havenât been in here in so long,â she whispers before taking a step. âCan you guys help me?â she turns to us. The three of us spring into action and set everything up; microphones, instruments â she instructs which ones she wants to use â and plug them into the amps. Mitch and Madi sit down on the couch in front of our set up. âYou start,â she whispers to me, and I begin strumming the electric guitar. She then nods to Owen, who begins thumping the bass drum, while she starts singing and Jeremy joins in with bass. âI carry the weight of you in my heavy heart And the wind is so icy, I am numb I carry the weight of you heading back to start With a thousand eyes on me, I stumble onâ She shuts her eyes when her voice waivers, and I witness a single tear rolling down her cheek. âI am tired, I'm growing older I'm getting weaker everyday, yeah I carry the weight of you I carry the weight of youâ Jeremy and I quit playing for a moment, leaving Owen with the beat that carries Emily into the pre-chorus. âLay down here Beside me in the shallow water Beside me where the sun is shining on us stillâ Jeremy and I then chime in again, and Emilyâs voice grows with our instruments. âLay down here Beside me in the hallowed water Beside me where the silver lining stays until The sirens' callingâ She takes the microphone from the stand and walks up to Jeremy, a small smile tugging at her lips. The room suddenly feels less dark, less sad. As if somethingâs lifted. âWe follow the sun down low 'til we hit the night And you hold me so tightly It's hard to breathe Ohâ She turns to Owen as if speaking to him now. He gives her an encouraging smile, which boosts her singing a little. âAnd I'm tired, I'm growing older I'm getting weaker everyday, yeah We follow the sun down low We follow the sun down lowâ She turns around to face Mitch and Madison again, really getting into the song. Her voice grows stronger and stronger with the second. âLay down here Beside me in the shallow water Beside me where the sun is shining on us still Lay down here Beside me in the hallowed water Beside me where the silver lining stays until The sirens' calling The sirens' callingâ She now walks up to me as we slow the music down a little, letting her voice carry us instead. She rests her head on my shoulder for a moment, as if needing to lean on me for strength. âYeah, I'm tired, I'm growing older I'm getting weaker everyday, yeahâ She lifts her head, and takes a step away from me, needing some space. âI am drowning, and you're stealing every breath Take me away and just Lay down here Beside me in the shallow water Beside me where the sun is shining on us still Lay down here Beside me in the hallowed water Beside me where the silver lining stays until The sirens' calling The sirens' callingâ Owen and Jeremy stop playing, leaving me with the same solo I did at the start. Emily looks at me with hope and happiness in her teary eyes. Then itâs completely silent for a second. âThanks, guys,â she whispers, her voice shaky as she breaks down again. The boys and I leave our instruments for what they are and rush up to her to embrace her, forming a shield around her against all the sadness in the world. Mitch and Madison join us, making it the biggest group hug ever. I can tell Emily and Mitch are both glad weâd come ringing at their door. I can tell they appreciate us for it, without having to tell us they do. This group hug and the smiles we receive from them, even on a sad day like this one, is enough for me to know.
