Be An Overcomer Through the Holy Ghost!
“For we know the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.” Romans 7:14 Being an overcomer of sin through the Holy Ghost is like a lifeguard saving a struggling swimmer from drowning; the Holy Ghost can come to our rescue if we seek Him and rely on His power to help us overcome our sins. Through sin, our lives can become cluttered with various difficulties that seem insurmountable. But…

“The Philistines took him and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza. They bound him with bronze fetters, and he became a grinder in the prison”  (Judges 16: 21).
That is what sin does. It blinds you and makes a fool out of you.
Sin causes people to do completely irrational things. We all know the story: men and women leave loving spouses and precious children to go have their so-called fling. Then they come to regret it.  Samson gave into sin not knowing he’s being robbed of his calling of being Israel’s judge, until his eyes were gouged out of his sockets.
Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.
Don’t be deceived by sin. If it comes knocking on your door, don’t answer.

I have a germ of a theory that good Christian fiction has stories that are less about shaving down your personality to meet some specific mold of what a good Christian looks like, and more about "how gloriously different are all the saints."
Not that the Christian life doesn't involve fighting against our own sinful nature and conforming ourselves to Christ-like behavior, but I think it makes for better, more realistic, and more universal stories when you also recognize that people have different gifts and flaws and they're going to be called to use their unique personalities to serve the kingdom of God in their own unique way, instead of assuming everyone has to conform themselves to a very specific (often secular-culturally based) image of good behavior. It makes for a much more vibrant story.

In grace something is overcome; grace occurs 'in spite of' something; grace occurs 'in spite of' separation and estrangement. Grace is the reunion of life with life, the reconciliation of the self with itself. Grace is the acceptance of that which is rejected. Grace transforms fate into a meaningful destiny; it changes guilt into confidence and courage. There is something triumphant in the word grace : in spite of the abounding of sin grace abounds much more. ~ Paul Tillich

There is a somewhat infuriating person who keeps coming up on our fyp, who firmly believes that no person should ever be allowed to cover up hateful tattoos, and that any tattoo artist who does so is an awful person. Because to him they deserved to wear the mark of what they were forever, to never find community or healing or the chance to make a positive change in the world around them.
I will likely never interact with this man, but it is always tempting to ask;
At what point does sin stain a soul forever? At what point is someone truly, irrevocably irredeemable? At what point do they cease to be a human, a creature capable of change and good? At what point did you decide that punishing the stained and irredeemable was worth the cost of trying to make the world better?
It is always punishment. Some idea of righteous sadism that outweighs the fact that the past is the past and will always be the past and the future can always be better, so long as it is there to change.
Pragmatically, this approach does nothing but make you edge closer to the people who think mere existence is the sin that stains the body the soul the blood. To the people that believe ‘criminal’ is a state of being rather than circumstance. To the very type of sin you say is incurable.
Anyway. Anger without focused intent towards positive change is, as the kids say, cringe.

Victory Over the Power of Evil (Luke 4:31-37)
Even though our thinking is important and critical, there is more to it than that: Orthodoxy (right belief) requires orthopraxy (right actions).
He went down to Capernaum, a village in Galilee. He was teaching the people on the Sabbath. They were surprised and impressed—his teaching was so forthright, so confident, so authoritative, not the quibbling and quoting they were used to. In the meeting place that day there was a man demonically disturbed. He screamed, “Stop! What business do you have here with us, Jesus? Nazarene! I know what…

Manifesting Mischief: A Playful Look at the 7 Deadly Sins through the Lens of the Law of Attraction
Unlocking Your Potential: Transforming Sins into Strengths with Self-Discovery and Manifestation Last week, while I was on a car journey with my friends while going to Porto, I was recounting how my hairdresser had decided to make me look ridiculous by giving me a dreadful fringe and miserably destroying my beautiful long hair. I complained to my friends, revealing to them that I am aware of…

“God has defeated Satan through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Through this overwhelming victory, God has also empowered you to overcome any temptation to sin and has provided sufficient resources for you to respond biblically to any problem of life. By relying on God’s power and being obedient to His Word, you can be an overcomer in any situation.” - John Broger

Unmasking Monsters: Discovering the True Nature of Fear and Faith
What Defines a Monster? When we think of a monster, vivid images often spring to mind: towering beasts with sharp claws and menacing growls or grotesque creatures lurking in the shadows. But in reality, what makes someone or something a monster transcends mere physical appearance. A monster embodies malice, fear, and the power to cause harm. It manipulates our understanding and instills dread,…

Finding Forgiveness and Spiritual Strength Through Christ’s Healing Power and Grace
Redemption through Christ brings hope and healing to even the most broken hearts. It’s more than forgiveness—it’s a chance to grow spiritually, find strength, and feel His mercy daily. The Savior’s grace invites us to let go of our pain, trust in His power, and embrace a renewed life. Scriptures remind us, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew…
