i spent most of the day finishing off babygirl’s face (scary TARDIS wolf cross-stitch) and now all she needs is her crystally ears and mane. …And her eyes. Which my partner says is really freaking him out, but in fairness i don’t think she’s going to look any less frightening when I’ve stitched them in.

honestly the worst part about my job is how I'm walking past people with my dream jobs all the time!!! Actors, singers, musicians, artists... like, wow, it's actually possible to have those jobs, but I'm not one of those people? cool. cool cool cool
#unfortunately due to anxiety and maybe depression I stopped making art & singing & playing instruments#i mean i did keep playing the piano but only during my weekly lessons and i haven't played ONCE since I stopped taking lessons#over a year ago#there's no way I could get a job as any of those things bc unfortunately they hire people who are motivated & really good at what they do#and not people who simply can't imagine having another job but who are like.. average at best#rip#doddie redet

I'm reading about how Israel, in the immediate aftermath of the 1948 Nakba, deliberately replaced olive trees and other indigenous flora with European plants. This ecological disaster, which is now proudly hailed under the banner of 'making the desert bloom,' was done to 'de-Arabize' the landscape, and to cover up - often with fast-growing European pine trees -the ruins of Palestinian villages that were destroyed by Zionists forces.
And I just need everyone to read this passage from Pappé, because the symbolism of what happened to those European pine trees in the desert speaks for itself:
