i think that part of the explanation for elon musk's behavior both during and after his twitter acquisition, aside from the fact that he's The Most Divorced Manchild in existence and is constantly high on ketamine, is that he's trying to compensate for the fact that he can never run for POTUS bc he was born in south africa.
#like being POTUS would be the crowning glory in his weird nerd ubermensch fantasy of himself#thank god that will never happen#the closest he can ever get is running his pet social media platform as a propaganda outlet for his chosen candidate#and then be promised a cabinet seat by said candidate#for the record i think peter thiel has the same hangup lmao#politics#usa#text

Omer Bartov, Israeli American scholar and a professor on genocide studies, speaks with Amy Goodman of Democracy Now about campus protests and antisemitism.
"And then we visited the encampment [at UPenn]. We talked [with student protestors] about antisemitism and about its current use. There was absolutely no sound of any — no sign of any violence, of any antisemitism at all.
... antisemitism... is a vile sentiment... And no one should condone it, and obviously none of us would ever condone it. But it has also become a tool to silence speech about Israel.
... there’s nothing threatening about opposing occupation and oppression [in Palestine]. That is not antisemitism... Even being anti-Zionist is not antisemitic."

Where Can You Find Quality Upholstery in the USA?
Quality upholstery is essential for maintaining the beauty and comfort of your furniture. Whether you're looking to revamp an old piece or want to invest in a new one, the USA offers a plethora of options to find top-notch upholstery services and materials. In this article, we'll explore various sources and locations where you can find quality upholstery in the United States.
Local Upholstery Shops
Local upholstery shops are often the go-to choice for those seeking quality upholstery services. These small businesses are run by skilled craftsmen who can transform your worn-out furniture into elegant pieces. They offer personalized services and can assist you in choosing the right fabrics, colors, and designs to match your décor.
Furniture Stores
Many furniture stores across the USA offer a wide range of upholstery options for customers who wish to personalize their furniture. You can choose from a variety of fabrics, colors, and patterns to match your style. Some stores also have in-house upholstery services or partnerships with local upholstery professionals.
Online Retailers
The rise of e-commerce has made it easier than ever to find quality upholstery materials and services online. You can browse through a vast selection of fabrics, leathers, and other materials, often with detailed descriptions and customer reviews. Online retailers provide convenience, and some even offer free fabric samples to ensure you make the right choice.
High-End Showrooms
If you're looking for luxury upholstery options, high-end showrooms are the place to visit. These exclusive boutiques and showrooms offer premium, designer-grade fabrics and materials. While the prices may be higher, the quality and craftsmanship are unparalleled.
Interior Designers
Interior designers often have access to a wide network of upholstery resources. Hiring a professional interior designer can be a great way to find high-quality upholstery materials and services, as they can connect you with trusted suppliers and craftsmen.
Antique Stores
Antique stores can be a hidden gem for quality upholstery enthusiasts. You can find unique, vintage pieces with timeless craftsmanship and style. While these may require some restoration work, it can be a rewarding experience to give new life to antique furniture.
DIY Stores
For those who enjoy hands-on projects, DIY stores provide a range of upholstery materials and tools. You can find everything from fabric, foam, and springs to staple guns and sewing machines. DIY upholstery allows you to personalize and restore furniture to your liking.
Fabric Outlets
Custom boat Upholstery USA and warehouses are great places to find affordable, high-quality upholstery materials. These outlets often offer a wide selection of discontinued, overstock, or clearance fabrics at discounted prices. It's an excellent option for budget-conscious shoppers.
Home Decor Expos and Trade Shows
Home decor expos and trade shows frequently feature exhibitors specializing in upholstery materials and services. These events are an opportunity to explore the latest trends, connect with experts, and discover unique upholstery options.
Things to consider while looking for quality upholstery in USA
When you're looking for quality upholstery in the USA, whether it's for furniture restoration or a new project, several factors should be taken into consideration. These factors will help ensure that you end up with upholstery that meets your needs and expectations. Here are some essential things to consider:
Type of Furniture: The type of furniture you plan to upholster will influence your choices. Different pieces, such as sofas, chairs, or headboards, may require different materials and upholstery techniques.
Fabric Selection: Choose a fabric that suits your lifestyle and aesthetic preferences. Consider factors like durability, color, pattern, and texture. Fabrics range from natural materials like cotton and leather to synthetic options such as microfiber or vinyl.
Durability: If the furniture piece will see heavy use, prioritize durability. Look for fabrics with high rub counts or materials designed for high traffic areas.
Budget: Determine your budget for upholstery materials and services. Quality upholstery can range from affordable to high-end, so understanding your budget helps you narrow down your options.
Skill Level: Consider whether you'll be doing the upholstery yourself or hiring a professional. More complex projects may require the expertise of a skilled upholsterer.
Upholstery Techniques: Different pieces may require specific upholstery techniques, like tufting, channeling, or nail head trim. Ensure that the chosen upholsterer or DIY approach can handle the techniques required for your project.
Upholsterer's Experience: If you're hiring a professional, check their experience and portfolio. Read reviews and ask for references to ensure you're working with a reputable upholsterer.
Local Regulations and Standards: Upholstery materials may be subject to fire regulations, especially for commercial and public spaces. Ensure that the materials you choose comply with local safety standards.
Eco-Friendly Options: If you're environmentally conscious, look for eco-friendly and sustainable upholstery materials. Many companies now offer options made from recycled or natural materials.
Maintenance: Consider how easy it will be to clean and maintain the upholstery. Some materials may require special care, while others are easy to clean and maintain.
Customization: Determine the level of customization you want. Some suppliers offer custom dyeing, printing, and even custom-made patterns to suit your unique needs.
Warranty and Guarantees: Check if the upholstery fabric or materials come with any warranties or guarantees. This can provide peace of mind in case of defects or unforeseen issues.
Matching Your Decor: Ensure that the chosen upholstery complements your existing decor and color scheme. Samples and swatches can be helpful for testing how materials will look in your space.
Shipping and Delivery: If you're ordering materials online, consider the shipping and delivery options. Ensure that they are reliable and provide tracking information.
Safety: If you have pets or children, consider the safety aspects of your upholstery choices. Avoid materials that may pose risks to your loved ones, such as fabrics with small parts that can be ingested.
Measurement Accuracy: Precise measurements are crucial, especially for custom upholstery. Be accurate in measuring your furniture to ensure that the materials you order fit properly.
By carefully considering these factors, you'll be better equipped to find quality upholstery that not only looks great but also suits your specific needs and preferences. Whether you're working with a professional upholsterer or tackling a DIY project, thoughtful planning is essential to achieving a successful outcome.
Conclusion
Quality upholstery can transform your furniture and enhance the ambiance of your home. Whether you prefer local artisans, online convenience, or high-end showrooms, the USA offers a diverse range of options to suit your preferences and budget. The key to finding the best upholstery lies in careful research, considering your unique requirements, and exploring the multitude of resources available. With the right choice, you can enjoy beautiful and comfortable furniture that lasts for years to come.

Israel has just bombed a hospital where hundreds of wounded and refugees were taking solace. Journalists in Gaza have reported there was hardly a single body whole in the aftermath (If you can stomach it, there's a video of a father holding what remains of his child). At least 500 people killed by IOF soldiers, who planned this action, got into an airplane and dropped that bomb willingly. The deadliest attack in five wars, according to the Ministry of Health.
Israel has denied ownership of the attack and said it was a misfired Hamas rocket. Originally, they celebrated it on their social media, saying they had destroyed a Hamas target, treating the deaths like an unfortunate collateral. After international backlash, they posted videos to their social media claiming it was a Hamas rocket. The video, though, shows a second explosion 40 minutes after the airstrike, and they edited it our of their tweet in a pathetic attempt at covering up.
Israel has said multiple times that they were going to bomb hospitals. They told doctors to evacuate and leave their patients to death because they were going to bomb, namely: Al Shifa, Shuhada Al Aqsa and the Quwaiti Hospital. Al Shifa housed at least 10.000 refugees and wounded, and worked as a hub for the press because it was one of the only hospitals that still had working generators. Medical crew worked with sirens blaring to signal the hospitals were not empty. This was a purposeful massacre. These people died hungry, thirsty and in pain because of the Israeli government's cruelty.
CNN and other media outlets already tried to pin the blame on Hamas, parroting back the pathetic propaganda being sold by the IOF. Even in death, Palestinians can't be respected and are used to further their own oppression. These people's deaths are not going to be in vain. Within our lifetimes, Palestine will be free.
Take action. The Labour Party in the UK had an emergency meeting today after several councilors threatened to resign if they didn't condemn Israeli war crimes. Calling to show your complaints works.

Protests in support have already erupted in Beirut, Madrid and Rabat in response to the shelling of the hospital. Join your local protest and raise your voices. For people in the US, Israel has just asked for additional $10bi in aid on top of the annual $3.8bi already given to them. Palestinians are asking that you refuse this loudly, with their every breath.

bought a new electric toothbrush, and the fucking thing didn’t even come with a wall adapter
#they said in the manual it’s to quote reduce plastic production#which is true enough but not everyone has USB plugs in their walls#and the manual also says not to plug it into an extension cord or block at risk of damaging the battery sooooo#I’d wager that 95% of homes in the USA use standard plugs and not USB ports#AND if you try to order one through their website you have to 1) get a warranty on it 2) give them the serial number 3) your receipt#ANDDD it can’t just be any USB-to-outlet plug. it must be 5V.#or else the toothbrush beeps nonstop because of the battery fucking itself up#I would just fuck off and use a standard toothbrush but I was recommended this type years ago#and only got a new one because I dropped the old one and it made a rattling noise when it ran#so I’m spoiled on that end of personal hygiene#I’m just… bro just give me an adapter instead of making me jump through hoops to brush my damn teeth#after already paying upwards of $40 for ur product in the first place

Melissa hated her feelings.
She buried them in a chest in the 5th grade (along with her ability to express them). Other peoples' feelings on the other hand was her forte. She could process, decipher and regurgitate other peoples emotions effortlessly. This gift could’ve taken her through college, all the way to a degree in psychology. Distinguished Dr. Jefferson with a PhD and a cozy office and impressive roster of high-profile, weallthy clients was a shiny idea. Fate would have a different hand for Melissa her talents were exhausted on mediating family fights, friend group drama, and charming her way out of confronting her own feelings.
“Feelings.” Even saying it out loud to herself seemed silly. Something reserved for ‘cry babies’ and water signs. Typical Sunday nights started tame, reading or writing fan-fiction and drinking cranapple juice. And then like clock work her father would yell her name,
‘MELISSA!!!’ Emotionless, she’d get up dust off her Winnie the Pooh shorts and make her way downstairs. On the long walk down the hall to the stairs leading to the living room brawl, she’d go through her check list:
1.) Don’t cry.
2.) Stay neutral; Deescalate
3.)Don’t take anything personal. This isn’t about you
She padded down the carpeted stairs in her old soft socks to see her mother tightlipped and tear streaked thinking,
‘she broke rule number 1’. Her father, Michael was proud and angry, his big belly filled with self righteousness. She knew he would be unyielding in his resolve and at this point her only option was to deescalate.
‘Rule number 2’. Then her sister the water sign and calamity for the evening sat on the floor nearly fetal, face red and raw with emotion.
‘Its not your fault’ Melissa wanted to say ‘You just didn’t follow the rules… you’re loved.’ But she couldn’t say that because she’d be breaking rule number 3. It wasn’t about how Melissa felt. Even though she felt like screaming,
“VANESSA, YOU DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG. DAD—YOU JUST HAVE PENT UP ANGER BECAUSE YOU GREW UP IN THE HOOD OF DETROIT AS A BLACK MAN IN THE 60s AND 70s. YOU NEED A HEALTHY OUTLET LIKE.. I DONT KNOW… THERAPY?!?!?! THIS IS A WASTE OF ALL OF OUR TIME. I LITERALLY JUST WROTE THE BEST SAILOR SATURN x CHIBI USA FANFICTION EVER AND THIS IS KILLING MY VIBE!”
Instead, she decide to hear every one out. She decided to help. To calm her dragon of a father down. To be a translator for her emotional sister. To not take it personal. To stay neutral. To not cry.
9 years later, at her fathers funeral she still never broke the rules. She played her flute and spoke at his memorial. She was present for her mother because it wasn’t about her. When other peoples' emotions bubbled up she stayed neutral. She sat through both services and she did not cry. It wasn’t until she excused herself to make a phone call outside did she collapse onto the stairs of the funeral home and weep alone in the cold Detroit snow.
It’s okay to break the rules sometimes, she reminded herself. As long as no one else sees it.
Traumas began to compact on Melissa, as they do. Humans tend to collect traumas like pebbles on a long hike. We toss them into our backpacks and keep moving forward. Some hikers would falter, but Melissa was built for this. She’d carried the stones of her family’s traumas uphill for years. She was strong.
When men began to befriend and reject her, saying ‘you’re too good for me’ but not too good to make them feel good. She carried that.
When childhood friends began to cut off the strings of her heart, saying ‘We can’t be friends anymore’. She carried that.
When her family separated like dandelion seeds, it seemed like they’d never be together again. Melissa slept on so many couches, floors and car seats sometimes she didn’t know if she’d see them again.
She carried that.
Dying was never an option though sometimes she didn’t mind the thought of it. Peace and warmth were two things she’d desperately yearned and hadn’t felt fully since the womb. Then one night in the pitch black of the hot, sweaty, roach-infested studio in southeast Houston she slept in she wondered:
‘Why can’t I break the rules?’ She’d seen everyone else in her life break them like popsicle sticks. And she didn’t just want to break the rules, she wanted to break them boldly and loudly and annoyingly and honestly and sloppily like every one else gets to do. It was in that moment, tucked in a thin jacket inside of an 8-foot high instrument cubby in the inky darkness—it hit her.
‘Is my suffering for a high purpose? Or is my suffering trying to kill me?’
She cried.
She escalated.
She took it personal.
But it wasn’t enough. She wanted to scream in a microphone in a sea of shadowy faces. She drank whiskey and wove her pain into rock music.
‘Music is my boyfriend’ she declared. The only man that kept his baggage to hisself. And it healed her. It gave her voice reason and purpose.
The pebble-laden hike became lighter with time. The incline eventually evened out to flat, beautiful landscapes where the breeze finally met her back. She knew it wasn’t gonna be easy or sunshine but even the rain cleansed her and it was beautiful too.
Somewhere in the rain she decided rules were meant to be built and broken. Like trust and love and friendships and families. Because every thing deserves the opportunity to change and grow.
So... She broke rule number 1 on stage while singing a beautiful song. Dr. Jefferson (PhD) screamed for her to stop but she didn’t listen and the tears flowed like rivers of emotion down her cheeks.
Rule number 2 was broken when she grew older and saw the injustices of the world. Marching with hundreds in protest she realized not everything needs to be pacified.
And one day when she finally fell in love, she broke rule number 3. No matter how much training she’d done she couldn't help but take every thing her lover said and did personal. But it was ok. Because in all her resistance she realized breaking rules was her power.
Melissa began to fall for her feelings. Her feelings gave life purpose. They weren’t always logical, as feelings seldom are. They were sloppy and embarrassing and rude and so fucking uncomfortable. But they were hers. And they were real. And when she sat alone sipping wine, staring at the moon…They were the only ones still by her side. Ready to break the rules for her because they loved her.
And she finally loved them back.

so, i see all these aus where danny gets help from the justice league for the anti ecto acts, and they're great. but hear me out. ghost king danny. classic setup, acts need to be repealed or war.
so danny goes to the league, of course.
the league of assassins.
Ra's is already familiar with death, and ghosts, and the realms. ya man's had the lazarus pits for centuries, he knows a little bit of what's what. maybe there's already some trade relations going on. more importantly, he has a massive group of hyper competent people who can pull strings in the government very stealthily, and have no outside affiliation or loyalty to that government.
but why not the JL? most of them are based in the USA. they work with the government (danny assumes). surely they are aware of the Acts. surely they would conform to them, enforce them.
so ghost king danny meets with ra's, who gives rancid vibes, but is able to, and wants to, do a smear campaign against the JL. against the USA. to gain favor with the guy who is the king of his most sacred resource, and knowledge about how to use the Pits to gain some basic liminal powers.
danny doesn't like the solution, exactly. but he's king. and this is what will protect his people. this is what will get expedient results. this is what his advisors who will still permit peace will allow.
so danny takes the deal with Ra's.
the initial outrage begins online, perhaps through MikMok. a mega famous influencer is cosplaying as superman, doing a twerking sort of dance to the most current haha funni meme song. the text overlay reads: when the superheroes condone genocide because they aren't human, ANTI-ECTO ACTS (whatever law/section code they were passed in).
it goes viral. and then someone finds the Acts (prodded along by the League) and it goes from a hit sensation online to every. single. news outlet flooding with information (puppeted by the League).
is this real? the Acts are real. but why? if these people(?) don't exist, why the Acts? the outrage. the mass confusion. the conspiracies. the new subgeddits and trending xitter tags. 4kun greentext be me: a ghost, becomes the new thing.
at this point, the GIW are scrambling to keep their involvment on the downlow. there are acts, sure, but they're not enforced :DDDD
vlad is in a similar situation. he cloned a guy. he def experimented on other ghosts to get to that level of knowledge. naturally, this is about when lex luthor gets involved. because, wouldn't you know it, but project CADMUS? yeah. that was a collab with DalvCo. they both wanted non-human clones from green stuff. they got it, and now luthor's sitting on some unpretty information.
he promptly shoves vlad under the bus, which is rapidly becoming less of a bus and more a trainwreck.
the league is surprised this happened, but goes with it.
the US governemnt is still trying to deny, deny, deny.
it's at this point that the JL gets themselves together. they don't know if the papers by Drs fenton are biased, or if ecto entities really are mindless creatures bent on destruction.
constantine says they're biased. green lantern concurs.
they decide to summon an ecto entity and find out what is going on.
danny is pretty stressed. it's a stressful situation. he's on break for the first time since they got a solution to this problem. he's not gonna answer a summoning. he has people to do that for him.
so they don't get the ghost king.
but they do get-
dani. and jazz. at the same time.
maximum possible psychic damage.
in the room at the watchtower is the big 3, green lantern, martian manhunter, flash, constantine, zatanna, raven, and black canary (legends of tomorrow experience? cool headed? there for arrow who is busy?).
dani doesn't like superman. he treats clones badly. jazz doesn't like batman, see Arkham.
dani doesn't know who c, z, raven, or bc are. jazz kinda knows of them, but not well.
so the actual negotiations go down with WW and MM.
they have a lot of questions. dani (abomination form) introduces jazz (basic looking human) as a princess of the realms. jazz says that the Acts are real, the realms want war, go suck a creamsickle (that was dani), they want restitution for the lives lost from the GIW.
then they leave the JL wondering who the GIW are.
someone (LoA) manages to hack the watchtower and post the meeting online as soon as it happens. or maybe they livestreamed it on Switch.
my spamblr, the result of my space buying tumblr in 1999, gains its first sexy women (jazz). jazz/WW fiction springs up on AOL3 overnight.
the GIW goes public. they try to push the envelop of ghosts being non-sentient. they try to use jazz being ambassador for that meeting to help their case. the JL is fighting accuations, but they are being pidgeon holed into siding with the GIW by the media.
it's at this point that things go from trainwreck to airplane runway crash.
dalvco and luthor are in a lawsuit. the usgov is under pressure from everyone. people are calling for impeachment of the president. the GIW is getting raided and having their evil posted online. the drs fentons are absent (in the ghost zone, either being evil or having mimosas with pandora). ra's is trying to use new knowledge of the Pits to reanimate tim's spleen. the JL is under constant fire. everyone who has ever had a malicious opinion about super or meta control is getting new platforms. danny can't use his intimate knowledge of what's going on to write his essays for school.
the world is galvanized. there are calls to action. liminals of Amity Prak come forward. you could be liminal too! the Acts get repealed. the GIW gets cleaned out, all prisoners rescued. the realms get restituition. the meta protection acts get expanded.
people will learn about phantom, the superhero. the dead boy who saved them all when the JL didn't answer amity's calls. the JL comes under more fire. they lose funding, defund the police style. for maximum chaos, this can be when the miraculous ladybug crossover starts.
phantom gets a bajillion features on true crime podcasts. tucker keeps sending links to the episodes to them. sam will never admit it, but she listens to them.
but things will never, ever be the same. arguably it's a bad end. but...
black canary restructures arkham from what jazz said to batman in that meeting. many of the rogues get actual help. the joker is transfered to a supermax. he never escapes again. nightwing takes the discowing costume back up in celebration.
vlad loses the lawsuit, and uses his powers to get one over on luthor, who has a mind control suggestion implanted to (amongst other things) never be able to work on these projects again.
there is greater transparancy in superhero work. this makes some people start social programs for villians who have a point. it works for a few of them. the JL is cleared up to handle more extraterrestriel threats, not leaving the burden on one person alone in the cities. the child sidekicks have less work.
amanda waller is fired. ironically, she had nothing to do with any of this, but people assume that she did. either way, everyone agrees it's deserved.
the league of assassins makes a lot of money. they get hired a lot in turbulent times.
disney, which is utterly unchanged in this dimension, makes a documentary about everything. they get dani in for an interview. it's in very bad taste. there is at least one death pun and CGI'd animal.
danny graduates.
clockwork smiles.
