#leia organa #dog #puppy #shiba inu #video #sound on #shiba scream #velociraptor #sin pin #she jump #puppy tantrum #that’s pippa’s big pen that’s like a fancy industrial outdoor cat pen my grandma bought and never used #so it’s like over six feet tall in the front and back and maybe like four feet on the sides?#it has more panels but it’s smaller right now to try to get Pippa not to pee in it as much #leia is in there because she and Pippa got into a fight over a toy so they both are in different kennels for time out and to cool down #this is also why I couldn’t crate train her because she’d do this from 12am to 6am straight #like ma’am I have neighbors I share walls with #last time she was in this pen she figured out how to use the latch after about 20 minutes #you can see how she can jump on my dining room table and destroy all my things with that vertical leap

Meet Tomato, my Red Sega i-Dog! This little guy came all the way from Japan, and he's easily one of my favorite i-Dogs I own! :D

His beautiful bright red color fits really well within the fall scenery, so I figured it'd be a perfect opportunity to take em out for a little photoshoot!

He's a wonderful little addition to my collection of i-Pets, and I'm so happy I scored him last year! : ]

I’m really starting to love December

#my pics #dog #dogblr #22 weeks #she’s really such a happy friendly little guy #and in the last couple weeks has just hit that point where dumb puppy brain switches to big kid brain #she still struggles with overstimulation hyperactivity #but she tries very hard to refocus on toys like I’ve been teaching her #she is very mouthy like most acd’s but she has been EXCELLENT at learning ‘gentle’#now that she has at least a bit of an attention span I’m taking her out walking pretty far #both on leash and off #we live on a farm surrounded by other farms so there’s lots of space to roam #next I need to start reinforcing cues by drilling outdoors / in strange locations #need to work on stay #and then I can really get into teaching her how to herd sheep #she LOVES being around them #and honestly there’s nothing that makes me happier than being out grazing the sheep w a dog #really just having so much fun with my little bud

will never not be pissed off and also baffled by outdoor cat owners who, instead of actually listening to concerns about the safety of their cats, will just boldly state shit like this as if it isn't horrifying:

"yeah i just let my Half Blind cat out to wander around where theres cars and wild animals and cruel people but he isnt hurting birds !" Shit like this should count as neglect and abuse and I'm not exaggerating in the least. this doesn't even take into account weather and disease and all the other factors you're also exposing your cat too I just don't understand how people can say stuff like this proudly.

And this is said in response to people taking home cats they find out on the street and like I understand not wanting to lose your cat but if you're not fucking taking care of it IDGAF!!!!!! WAH WAH YOU CAN'T CLOSE A DOOR OR INVEST IN A CAT HARNESS OR PLAY WITH YOUR CAT then don't get a fucking cat!!!!!!

#And yes if your cat needs outdoor time and is a former outdoor cat etc you CAN walk your cat!!!!!!#You literally can walk them!!! it's fun and easy to do it's not limited to just dogs!#this way you can supervise your cat and keep them off the road and keep them away from eating/hunting shit they shouldnt #its not anymore expensive than any other toys or supplies you should be getting for your cat #animal abuse #outdoor cats

there is no such thing as a “low maintenance pet”, only different maintenance.

dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, birds, small mammals, et cetera all have different needs, and your individual lifestyle may be better suited to meeting the needs of one more than another. you may be able to properly care for a cat but not a fish, or a fish but not a rabbit, or a rabbit but not a bird, and so on, but that doesn’t make any pet “easier” to care for than another. it doesn’t make any pet need less care and attention than another.

promoting any pet as “low maintenance” leads to neglect at best and abuse at worst.

#fish and cats and probably the worst when it comes to this but in two different ways #fish because people have the idea of a fishbowl or one of those teeny tiny tanks and think that's fine #and combined with how easy and cheap it is to get a fish compared to a cat or a dog leads to people just getting them #without knowing how to properly care for them #*in general* getting a cat/dog is a pretty lengthy process whether youre adopting or buying from a breeder #and typically involves some kind of application and a vetting by the rescue/breeder #but literally anyone can walk into the pet store and buy a fish #and they don't know about getting a filter or a heater and thermometer or even the right tank size for their fish #and they certainly don't know that you need the entire tank set up WELL before getting the fish to properly cycle the tank #and then with cats it comes down to the whole outdoor cat thing and the misconception of cats as 'independent'#and less informed people think 'oh well i can just leave the cat outside all day and all i really have to do is feed it'#and so (1) they leave the cat outside all day (neglect/abuse full stop) and (2) don't own cat toys / cat furniture et cetera #anyway in a perfect world i don't think places like petco or petsmart should be allowed to sell the animals themselves #in a perfect world they wouldn't be allowed to sell fishbowls or those teeny tiny tanks or those tube things for like hamsters and them #but we don't live in a perfect world so :-/#i speak #animal welfare
