The war ends with Shepard fundamentally transformed and her memories of the past are a jumbled paradox that she cannot resolve. Meanwhile, Kaidan retires to the orchard and keeps to himself, but can't stop looking to the sky. The latest thing I wrote, heavy on the angst and it took a lot out of me but I'm proud of it.

Kaidan grapples with the offer to become a spectre, questioning how he can do the most good in the war while wrestling with long-simmering feelings for Shepard. A mission fic on Chalkos with alien ocs, space weed, and doohickey emp bombs. I think this fic is a lot of fun.

An event that defines your character's past:

Ares is the Butcher of Torfan, and there's nothing he regrets more than giving in to his hunger for vengance after Mindoir. Torfan didn't bring anyone back, but it took Ares Shepard with it.

2. How your character sees themself

Ares knows what he's capable of & after his ressurection, he accepts the role the galaxy has given him to the fullest.

3. How others view them:

Kaidan loves Ares with all he has - in a very platonic way. Others look at Ares Shepard and know he's going to burn them sooner or later, but they still want to be there. Anderson? He took Ares in when Mindoir happened. He will always be proud of him - no matter what.

4. Their closest relationship:

Ah, yeah. Sitting down with Kaidan for a beer, watching the sun set, or a match of biotiball ... That's Ares idea of a good relationship / friendship.

5. A major fight scene:

End Game. Nuff said.

What pets would the septic egos have?

Jackie:

Probably a German Shepherd or a Boxer dog.

Probably name one or the other Tucker ngl🦮

Tucker-as a boxer dog-would be super playful and an eater.

As a German Shepard-Super adventurous and would probably help Jackie with his rescues

Chase:

The hedgehog would be named nutmeg. His bunny would be named peaches

Nutmeg was mean at first to the other pets-but soon he warmed up to them. Don’t let his cute face fool you…he is not afraid to hurt you

Peaches is such a sweet bunny. Very innocent. But does get scared easily. She’s well protected by basically everyone pet in the damn group. Peaches is a tan looking bunny with dark brown spots on her.

Henrik:

Henrik’s probably get a poodle and a tonkinese cat

The poodle would be named Otto!. Tonkinese cat will be named Minka.

Otto is playful and really affectionate. She’s super friendly with everyone

Minka is also pretty affectionate but she’s really only affectionate and then would just walk away. But she’s super affectionate really with just Henrik and JJ + Otto. But other than that-that’s really it.

Three ships:

Virgilia/Plutarch. I know, a bit cliche to put my own ship forth here, but I'm noticing how much less of a shipper I've become insofar that I've more lukewarm takes on most ships, but this is one I'm really passionate about. It really (obviously) encompasses a lot of what I personally enjoy in seeing a relationship unfold. Virgilia has her own personal journey that fits well with Plutarch's. They complement each other so well and it's enjoyable to write / think about them :>

David Butt/Julia Montague. Those two are from the BBC series Bodyguard and they are such an interesting couple. There's hatred initially, each of their moments bringing them closer, and the final resolution of their story (the question of being together) never finding an answer. The show has its own problems with the portrayal of Muslim characters, and tbf whenever I rewatch it I only watch the first three episodes, but it has a sort of tension and development that I've really never seen replicated. I'm a sucker for bodyguard stuff, but none ever did it as well as this show, and most of those stories are far too smutty, far too overprotective, far too easily and quickly resolve (and me and @beedelia totally have a Plutarch&V AU based on those two).

This is NOT a ROMANTIC ship (hence the &), but I love PLATONIC stuff so much, so: Ellie Williams&Joel Miller. I really, fully, enjoy their growth together. I love a good parenting platonic not-actually-related situation. Their story is so raw. It's the way that their relationship is painted through struggles. It's the going through everything to keep their dad/their daughter safe. I love their journey and I love both games so much.

This was really hard because, as I said, I've got plenty of ships and I feel rather lukewarm about them. As in, yeah, I enjoyed this, but it doesn't have my mind spinning once I finish it and am done with the show/game. Here's a list of some ships I enjoy, but do not have a lot to say about: F!Commander Shepard/Miranda Lawson (Mass Effect), Cullen Rutherford/F!Inquisitor (Dragon Age), Will Graham/Bedelia Du Maurier (Hannibal), Serena Joy/Mark Tuello (Handmaid's Tale), Blackbeard/Stede Bonnet (Our Flag Means Death), Newt Scamander/Leta Lestrange (Fantastic Beasts). Was this cheating? Maybe, lol.

First ever ship:

I think my first ever ship was Captain Amelia/Dr. Doppler, mostly because I was very gay for Amelia and was excited for any romance interest she got. Like, it should have been me, but this was second best. I didn't write fanfiction about it or anything because I was far too young, but I think this was the first moment where I really shipped something.

First time I engaged with fandom might have been Remus Lupin/Tonks. Though I mostly read stuff rather than wrote anything.

First time I wrote something (in rp) was Haymitch/Effie, though I don't ship them anymore--same as Lupin and Tonks actually lol. Both for different reasons.

Last song: Bottom of the River by Delta Rae. Been listening to this one while writing!

Last movie: Everything Everywhere All At Once. I've had this on my watchlist since release and finally got around to it. Feels like something you should totally watch a second time. It was a brilliant movie.

Currently reading: A secret history. I'm not sure what to think of it yet & I'm halfway through. It's definitely interesting, but it's a very slow read (or maybe me mostly reading it in bed before falling asleep just doesn't read very fast).

Currently watching: Arctic Warrior. It's a German TV show about one (military) expert and one beginner having to survive (and travel through) the arctic parts of Finland. I usually don't enjoy those kind of shows, but I have a soft spot for Otto + watching it as an uncut reaction video from a favourite youtuber of mine is double fun. Actual tv series though, I want to start Succession (thanks Emily, lol) and/or Yellowjackets.

Currently consuming: I ate my salad + slice of bread for the evening :>

Currently craving: Still a bit hungry, so maybe some fruit later. I've got mango and peaches at home :)

I watched a lot of the movies listed here when I was a kid. I didn't see the way women were being belittled or treated like token pieces when I was young. I only took away the best parts of those characters.

Rhonda from Tremors? A young female scientist working on her own!

Gwen DiMarco? Funny, tough, scared out of her mind but still there!

*There is a scene in The Mummy when the two groups reach Hamunaptra. A man says, "They are led by a woman. What does a woman know?" It was not until I was well into my adulthood that I realized this was meant to be a dig at her. Growing up, I always thought it was a genuine question. A question uttered with reverence and awe. What does a woman know? We know so many things! Women are able to do so much without ever having to look it up or ask. I took this as a sign of "Yes! Women are mysterious. We hold so much knowledge. We are powerful!"

**Hedda Gabler is a play that stole my breath away. I love every bit of this work. A woman trapped in a marriage she had no desire for. Not because there was another man, but she truly did not want to be married! The self-sabotage, the destructive and toxic qualities that she takes on throughout the play is heart wrenchingly beautiful. I love Hedda's flaws.

If you want to chat about these women, I will talk for days.

i dont really know how to articulate this but its crazy just how many people dont even realize they dont care about female characters. all their faves are men. they never talk about girls without being led into it. and when you try to point this out to them they try to defend themselves that their faves are just the archetypes they like, despite clearly not caring when that same archetype is a woman. like i feel like at a certain point it is your problem with the common denominator if you cant find a single female character to enjoy

How to: Rate your OCs based on how they handle cuddling/being cuddled.

Ashford: 2/10

Ashford does not want your cuddles. He does not need your cuddles. He gets plenty of touch, thanks for asking, and if you're looking for affection, he is completely clueless about how to provide. He scores two points on the cuddle scale for the following weaknesses:

He will get handsy if he's thinking about round two and on occasion the other party has mistaken this for affection and fallen asleep on him. He'll acquiesce as long as they don't get any ideas.

He is doomed to fall in love because I said so, but only very slowly, and as he does he gradually becomes more open to cuddling. What it looks like is creating space and letting them come to him. Being the bigger guy unlocks a protective urge in him but he channels that more passively into little things like running a finger through their hair. The more cuddly he gets, the more he's trying to avoid verbalising some feeling, this is something Kaidan learns.

Otto: 8/10

Otto was like, born with too many electrons. They're some sort of unstable compound that is constantly seeking contact with other people and then bouncing off of them. They like to throw their legs over yours, poke and prod, maybe wrestle a bit. They take full advantage of being short and small and will end up in your lap in no time if you let them. Could be platonic, could be romantic, they flirt with everyone. The downside is they don't sit still for long.

You light up a match “Maybe you would put a chalkboard above the bed. Make them sign in.” the fire comes to life in the fireplace just as a ball of paper hits the back of your head, thrown by him.

“Hush, you!” the tall male mutters.

7. Catch Your Eye – Maxim/Reader – Inspired by @overlookedfile :

“Good evening,” Horvath utters in an almost friendly tone, and it has the desired effect, surprised eyes jump to him and widen “Can you help me by waking up the moron in stall three for me?”

So far so good the woman doesn’t faint. Quite the opposite curiosity creeps into the sharp gaze. With cautious steps, she reaches the mirror and tries the frame to see if the mirror is fake.
