I still can't get over how percy, even having lost 99% of his memory, STILL rejected reyna, who is arguably the most BEAUTIFUL and POWERFUL woman in camp jupiter, all because he had the VAGUEST inkling that he was in LOVE with a girl named annabeth... and at that point the only thing he could remember about her was her NAME.
he is down BAD for her and she is for him too so you literally CANNOT be telling me they AREN'T meant to be together... like bro they raised the whole ass RELATIONSHIP STANDARD simply by EXISTING tf you mean they aren't MADLY in love with each other???

I saw a post that was like "P&P is about a man listening to the love interest and unlearning his toxicity" and it's similar enough to many others I've seen that I'm just ... aghhhh.
ffs Elizabeth is not the love interest; she is the protagonist of the damn book and P&P is primarily about her character and development and experiences. If you care more about Darcy's, okay; that doesn't mean it's what the book is about.
Yes, Darcy listens to Elizabeth's criticisms despite the circumstances and that's good. But that framing makes it sound extremely one-sided, yet Elizabeth's arc (which, again, is the main focus of the novel) is contingent on seriously considering what Darcy says and drastically overhauling her conceptions of pretty much everyone involved. The listening goes both ways!
Not going to lie, "toxic" and its variants are losing all meaning for me at this point.

For all the sayings that tarlos is a poor substitute for a certain ship or got together too soon or don’t have any development or years of slow burn and realization. You know what? it is actually one of the reason I love that tarlos started the way that they were. I love that it tells a story of how two people meet and get attracted to each other, and start seeing how that grew into either a relationship or not. Because yes ! (Suprise) that is how most romantic relationships started in real life! I love how banal it is! And them not having 6 years of build-up or how they both were still dealing with their own issues and insecurities and working thru it while also working on being with each other does not make it any less valid of queer story. I hope someday we won't dismiss queer relationships and stories because of how fast they got together or how much of a family member they consist of (ehm tarlos not having kid @ fox)
I love seeing them not only have feelings for each other but the way the show portray their love as an act, that them being with each other is a conscious choice and effort they both make. I hope someday we won’t be dismissing any queer story whether they got together after six years of pinning or got together immediately. They are soulmate.
Tumblr media
*and having queer characters portrayed by queer actors will always be a big freaking bonus.

It will never not irk me durning my play throughs, when Astarion is like “the orthon is nothing!”
*** que my eye twitching ***
My guy. My dude. My brother in the Absolute. Excuse me? Da F***?
The orthon is part of the Gauntlet! The makers wouldn’t have had him in the Gauntlet if it was going to be easy!!!!
I have been bloodless since you came out of the closet. Keeping your perky undead ASS happy. I’m f***ing with the devil Raphael to unlock your quest. You really wanna give me lip right now. Do you have any idea what my approval rating is with the other companions ? I am “passing the salt at dinner “ away from a goddamn marriage proposal from Gale, and I haven’t even flirted or slept with him!!!!
I will always pick “repeat after me: thank you for helping me, it was very kind” cause I love Astarion , but he fully tests my patience at time.

☆ — reactions to screaming and crying II. by @ricesinspo, credits appreciated!
— ☆ —
[★] running to someone else because you're not sure what to do, "help! they're crying, what do i do?????"
[★] running to someone else, but to 'report misbehavior', "ugh they're being annoying! stop them!!"
[★] asking "what's wrong?", only to give half-hearted advice that is barely assuring, if even at all.
[★] sitting by their side; as in being just there. perhaps you're not quite sure how to help.
[★] staying quiet. saying nothing. staring disapprovingly for a while, then, "... are you done."
[★] "you know this is hard for me too, right? you're making this even harder. so stop it."
[★] "what's wrong with you?! say it! don't just scream and cry as if anyone's going to understand!" (<- is the person making it difficult for them to open up)
[★] "you know crying won't solve anything, right?"
[★] "what happened? this isn't like you at all..."
[★] ^ the above but more condescending, "where did my good and cheerful child/friend/[relationship]/[name] go?"
[★] "suck it up."

Reasons I love Chaggily
1. They work well together, let me explain. (The plot could easily set them up to be in a throuple)
While Charlie and Vaggie are an amazing couple, ( and I absolutely ship them together) adding Emily to the mix would make complete sense. Whether Emily falls at some point or decides to help Charlie and Vaggie, they all have one thing in common. They have been lied to, and or hurt by heaven’s actions. Making the perfect situation for them to bond over shared trauma.
Season 1 Ending Spoiler coming up in my next sentence!!! You have been warned.
With Sir Pentious making it to heaven, Emily has more motivation and reason to help Charlie and Vaggie with the Hotel. Or at least find a way to stop heaven from continuing the exterminations. Like I said before this places the characters in a perfect spot to work together/get to know each other better. (Assuming this is the route Emily chooses to go, in order to help Charlie and Vaggie)
If all three of them interact more in season two or three we could get cannon Chaggily, but ultimately it is up to the writers and producers. I would be shocked and thrilled if chaggily became cannon, but I am satisfied with Chaggie staying in a relationship.
2. They work together as foils for each other’s character development.
In the event that Emily continues to realize that heaven isn’t what it says it is, Charlie can remind her of all the good that is still in the world while Vaggie can relate to, and understand where Emily is coming from.
In the event that Emily falls, Charlie and Vaggie would be the perfect people to help her through everything. This would set them up to spend more time together and possibly end up together in a throuple.
For Charlie, Emily brings the eye opening experience of realizing that Heaven isn’t all it says it is. While Vaggie helps support Charlie’s dreams, Emily could bring a more painful, but open view of Heaven to Charlie. And that is not to say that Emily wouldn’t believe in Charlie’s dream, but she could bring the realization that many “Sinners” can’t get to heaven just from trust exercises.
For Vaggie, Emily and her share a feeling of betrayal from Heaven. Vaggie’s betrayal is far more intense than Emily’s of course, but if Emily falls (that would change things). With Emily’s arc of learning that heaven isn’t what it says it is, Vaggie and her can bond over the fact that they both hate, or for Emily specifically (starting to hate the way heaven treats “sinners”)
I could keep ranting about Chaggily, but I don’t want to be overwhelming.
Thank you for reading this, if you made it through my rant. :) I would love to talk about Chaggily anytime!!
HOLY. COW???
THIS IS ALL OF MY THOUGHRS AND I LOVE THAT YOU PUT THEM INTO WORDS! I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING, THANK YOU!!
PLUSS, i toats agree that Chaggie by itself is a satisfying relationship that can just be by itself, and if the writers were to go down that route i wouldnt be mad myself. But the crazy potential of CHAGGILY. Is INSANE. and you pretty much took the words out of my mouth! Its just such a beautiful relationship that would work perfectly as for the dynamic, character growth, plot, etc etc! Thank you anon 🫶🫶

@feanorianweek Day 4: Caranthir & Haleth
Even though Haleth’s hair was now grey and her limbs were not a strong as before, she still took as many walks with Caranthir as possible.
Caranthir to this day remembers every path and every conversation during all these outings
(part of the now camed “Eramos Felices y no lo Sabiamos” series, a.k.a. 5 times a Feanorian was not appreciating the moment and 1 time one did)

@feanorianweek Día 4: Caranthir y Haleth

Things that lLittle Women 2019 got wrong (Ofc Amy and Laurie related):
First of all, let me clarify that I LOVE Little Women 2019. It's my favorite version of all time, specially bc it's the first time someone tried to give justice to Amy and Laurie storyline, however this version still fell short in some ways, that I hate and just help to perpetuate the long false story of "Laurie settled down with Amy":
Laurie and Amy meeting in Europe: In the movie Amy is the one who sees Laurie and jumps after him. She is the one who was hoping for him to find her at the hotel. Also after they stop talking Laurie returns to his sad walking.
In the book this never happened. Actually It's Laurie the one who comes back to life after he sees Amy. He is the one who starts waving his hat aggressively hoping for Amy to notice him:
"The quick trot of ponies' feet made him look up, as one of the little carriages, containing a single lady, came rapidly down the street. The lady was young, blonde, and dressed in blue. He stared a minute, then his whole face woke up, and, waving his hat like a boy, he hurried forward to meet her."
He is the one who claims that he couldn't find them and care about it, because Amy never asked and he started talking about it:
Amy: "How is your grandfather? When did you come? Where are you staying?"
Laurie: "Very well—last night—at the Chauvain. I called at your hotel, but you were all out."
(Like my boy nobody cares and she didn't ask you if you looked for her or not 😭😭😭)
In fact He stayed with her that afternoon helping her with everything she had to do that day meanwhile thinking how much she changed and how gorgeous she is:
"Laurie did not read all this while he watched her feed the peacocks, but he saw enough to satisfy and interest him, and carried away a pretty little picture of a bright-faced girl standing in the sunshine, which brought out the soft hue of her dress, the fresh color of her cheeks, the golden gloss of her hair, and made her a prominent figure in the pleasant scene"
So there wasn't no coming back to sad moment after he saw her. My boy was too intrigued for that. Please and thank you.

I saw a popular author post about how, while of course Elizabeth has some obligatory flaws, Darcy's are exponentially more severe, and it was like stepping into a view so far removed from mine that it was almost disorienting.
The thing is, I periodically see people wondering why Elizabeth/Darcy is such a behemoth in Austen fandom when either/both of them have substantial flaws that the narrative doesn't shy away from. Their flaws aren't identical, but they do obviously mirror each other and are thematically intertwined, with reflecting character arcs and specific beats. As I see it, the novel maintains a tense and careful balance between them—not in terms of centrality (Elizabeth's mistakes and growth are more central to the narrative than Darcy's IMO) but in terms of the weight given their flaws and virtues.
And for me that's essential to their appeal!
I love plenty of other Austen characters and relationships, but for me, personally, none of the other canon pairings are balanced in such a fun and satisfying way. The closest (and the other most conventionally romantic pairing in Austen IMO) is probably Anne/Wentworth, where at least the choices of both of them are heavy contributors to their current problems. But a) the novel is ambivalent as to whether Anne actually erred morally in the first place and b) that is long in the past by the time of the novel; the Anne of the main story of Persuasion is a fairly idealized figure by contrast to Wentworth.
I sometimes see arguments that, say, Anne or Mr Knightley or Elinor Dashwood or whomever are actually as flawed and prone to error as their romantic counterparts, but I just ... don't buy it, honestly. As far as canon Austen goes, I only really see that balance in the course of the main story with Elizabeth/Darcy. P&P loves them and holds them up as admirable (and they are!), but it also loves undercutting them in clearly paralleling ways and does it over and over throughout the novel.
So the idea of an Elizabeth and Darcy where one of them has obligatory storytelling flaws that can't seriously be compared to the other's is just ... blah. It cuts out the fundamental interconnection and resonance between them that I think is built into the structure of the novel down to its bones and is what makes their relationship special. A lot of stories pay lip-service to that kind of dynamic, sure, but despite the many (many) imitators, I don't often see it done successfully. But P&P is the real deal.
So yeah, when people are like "why do people like Elizabeth with Darcy so much when she could have a different man who doesn't make serious mistakes" I'm just thinking ... why on earth would I want Elizabeth "there was truth in his looks" Bennet with someone who would never make mistakes on that level? Or when people are like, Darcy's just misunderstood, wouldn't he be better off with Jane [or another relatively idealized female character] it's like ... hell no, I love him, but I do not want to inflict him on that poor woman.
It's not that there's something wrong with multishipping them (I've written alternate pairings for both!) or shipping them with other people, but just in terms of the novel as it exists, I do think the balance and echoes between them are part of what makes the novel work and one of the sources of their long-standing popularity. And I feel that trying to pin the "real" blame on one or the other up-ends that balance and diminishes a lot of what I, at least, find appealing about the dynamic between them.

yes im back on my hughie/a-train bullshit look away <3 so i know i just said in an earlier post that they barely have any scenes together but my goddd i love how in this season they actually have so many scenes!!! like i deadass think theyve been on screen together more times just this season so far than in all the earlier seasons together like DAMN. and i obviously love a-train's character development arc (ive been waiting for this since season 1) but i especially love how his desire to become an actual good hero (mainly in his brothers eyes of course) is shown in his wanting to make amends with hughie and win his forgiveness for killing robin. like that was the very first thing he did in the show & thats how everything started so he wants to go back to that beginning & fix That. he saves hughie and does all these favors for him, only so he can make it right with him & be forgiven, like thats literally all he asks in exchange. because then that means he did something good & perhaps his brother will forgive him & see him as a good superhero
