Because I agonised for an hour or more this morning on how i would get groceries before 'allowing' myself to order them to be delivered:

You don't have to push yourself to your absolute limit constantly as a disabled person to prove you are worthy of care and support and recovery/improvement/symptom management. (I know this is a broad spectrum that varies for each person).

Abled people do strictly unnecessary things to make their lives easier all the time. You're allowed to do that too.

#seriously it was like- i can't drive so it's easier to walk to the supermarket with my crutches #but then i'll need both of them #and it's nearly impossible (for me) to shop in a way that isn't extra labour and frustration with two crutches #so I should probably take my wheelchair #but that still limits me to what I can carry home in a backpack #and I have to cross major roads to get there without traffic lights and that's more difficult in my chair #and I'm already trying to recover from the past two days #and I have hobbies I want to do today and class to attend tomorrow #so I don't want to max myself out just getting groceries #but i *need* groceries today because otherwise myself and (more importantly imo) my cat won't have anything to eat (literal)#anyway uhh... being disabled is so much work that abled people without disabled folks in their lives don't see #radio chatter #actually disabled #actually chronically ill #mobility aid user

Y'ALL. Y'ALL so for a long time I've believed that "the sun" in Meursault's story is Carmen, and I went to check Hell's Chicken's dialogue to see exactly how he said that he'd dealt with distortions before, and... you know what else he said?

To my knowledge, it is a phenomenon where an individual morphs into a form often unfit to be considered “human”. It has no known causes, and the appearances were all different.

Unfit to be considered human.

Meursault, who, in his book, was judged by the court to be soulless.

Meursault, who has EGO for Cyborgs who have been so mutilated they barely act like people anymore; a murderer who was experimented on until ceasing to be human; a sheep named after Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, a novel about the humanity of androids and the inhumanity of humans; and now a rose that can't help its bloodsucking nature, based on Carmilla, a vampire whose story emphasized the duality between her vampiric traits and her human ones.

Meursault, who answered Heathcliff's ironic question of if he had metal for brains like this:

I know I have not been very active on tumblr of late, but I saw something that has angered me enough that I feel compelled to say something.

Empathy is NOT a sin.

Let me repeat that for those who didn't understand me the first time.

Empathy is NOT a sin.

Empathy leads to compassion. When you show someone compassion, what they do with that compassion is not your burden to bear.

Empathy is what allows a person to see a stranger struggling with something heavy and imagine ourselves in their place. Doing so allows us to realize that they might want help lifting it, because we would if the roles were reversed.

Compassion is what moves us to actually go over and help them.

And mercy? Mercy is what stays our hand when a person makes a mistake or does something we don't agree with. Mercy is recognizing that we have the capacity to be cruel, but that we DON'T HAVE TO EXERCISE THAT ABILITY.

Mercy is not laughable, or worthy of disdain. Compassion is absolutely necessary if we are to remain human beings. And empathy is never a sin.

rlly torn abt whether to actually pursue that major CC for troj for a championship (very few shows that give them, most very far away, very high entry numbers, mostly allround judges which tends to not be Troj's audience) or just idk. retire her for now, bring her back out in 4yrs time as a veteran if she ages well

#i could do the breed specials only next year #those are fun anyway so i'd like to do them and i was planning to #next year NKK Bergen is out but i see it's still on the prelim schedule for 2026 #otherwise we have 7-15hrs of driving each way to the other NKK shows #not really super feasible for a dog that likely won't place for an allrounder and is liked by half of the breed specialists #shes not a natural champion so its very likely it would be a waste #i think ive decided to complete the last 3 we have planned. we show for critiques and we always did #and the plan was all along to take it easier next year #do the closest/most fun #so we'll see #extra hard because UNTIL THIS WEEKEND she had a very mediocre season so far #and then she goes and #wins at the fuckin special for a specialist judge. shortlists at the main show for a judge thats not even after her type

I have learnt things about Geto that I wish I could unlearn

#I think I'm getting about the same amount of spoilers as a few weeks ago except now I understand them #But like. I expected so much of him #Seeing gifs of that one scene in which Gojo gets distracted because of Geto almost made me watch this a year ago #Geto was actually my favourite character in that one JJK fanfic I read that I mention so often even if he had literally one scene #I know so much of the emotional turmoil and conflict in JJK and Gojo in particular depends on him #And you're telling me he's Thanos?#I learnt a few days ago that everything pretty much happens in one year. That there's one year between Geto's death and Gojo's #I thought it would be like ten years. Ten years of the act haunting him #But no? So it's not a broken teenager who has these ideas and is killed by another teenager to stop him?#It's a what? ~30yo man saying Light levels of stupidity? Even worse perhaps?#Goodness I hope this is not so. I hope this is better written than what I am seeing #Because goddammit I can't do it. It would kinda ruin every emotional scene from then on?#That one scene I was so looking forwards about patting Gojo's back or whatever. The one in which Gojo gets distracted. It just.
