quite pleasantly surprised by wicked movie but i Will say we were robbed of elphaba leaning in close to glinda saying “come with me to the emerald city” followed by glinda’s “i’ve always wanted to see the emerald city” while looking deep into her eyes arms around her shoulders twirling elphaba’s hair

#not sure if this was unique to the last time i saw wicked but either way. shoutout to those two leads fr 😘✌🏻 <- that’s me kissing #two fingers and holding them out btw #personal #other notes:#- fiyero looked too old sorry but he did perform pretty well #- still unreasonably annoyed by ariana’s eyebrows being so pale and blending into her skin under certain lightings esp when they gave her #giant black lashes like at least be consistent 💀#- otherwise pretty pleasantly surprised by her performance there were still moments esp when she laughed where i was like this is too #‘ariana’ and not ‘glinda’ enough but for the most part she did wayyy better than i had anticipated #- the instrumentation to vocal balancing was weird throughout but i’m not sure if that came down mostly to it being in theatre vs on a home #tv ik it can depend on how they designed it #- was not a fan of nessa or madame morrible the way both of them sang and even how madame morrible spoke sometimes came off very stilted to #me i did like nessa’s spoken delivery tho #- not sure how but i had no clue abt the kristen/idina cameo ahjdf the way my mom #grandma and me all gasped #- cynthia did well i wasn’t concerned abt her initially but then saw the way they were marketing with her and got a little worried bc it #wasn’t very ‘elphaba’ but she portrayed her personality great #- they paced defying gravity weird i wasn’t super fond of the end. the bit where she’s falling and facing her younger self i was like okay #this is a cool change actually but then they interrupted in the middle again after that and suddenly cut to the ‘nobody in all of oz’ bit #and i went mmmm don’t like that #- liked the effects!#- wasn’t overly fond of jeff goldblum as the wizard but i suppose there is time to change my opinion there with act ii #- enjoyed what is this feeling flipping btwn so many settings to show how much they were clashing in every respect #- costumes!!#- was slightly bothered by autotune first half and then im not sure if they cut back on it or if i just got used to it #- probably more stuff that i might add later but can’t think of rn. overall nice experience don’t plan on rewatching anytime soon but still #intend to see part 2 #wicked 2024 spoilers #<- for the cameo mention mainly

starting to kind of date someone right before christmas is so stressful fr. do i get him a gift or what we've been on two dates but i'm seeing him tonight n it's christmas eve.....but what if he didn't get me anything then it will be weird.....

#so. what happened here is that i could not for the life of me find the word i was looking for in english OR dutch #so i put my head in my hands. and sighed. and still didn't come up with anything other than dünger (german)#(i'm running on notably little sleep but either way. this just happens sometimes)#so off to google i go and i type 'dünger nederlands' in hopes of finding a translation from german to dutch #google very helpfully recognizes i'm desperate like this every other day and shows me its translate widget. trying to translate FROM dutch #into english. which is cool that's fine. but dünger is not a dutch word!!! not even remotely!!! dutch has no umlaut!!!#so what google translate is doing here is taking my input of 'dünger' and deciding with no warning that i must have meant 'dunner'#which IS a dutch word. and which DOES mean thinner. but which is also...... spelled unrecognizably differently.......#anyway at least wikipedia still hasn't forsaken me. the word i was looking for is fertilizer. mest.#and i do have to hand it to google that i was looking for shit and it gave me some!! flawless service thank you!!#*

i feel like not enough people use writing fanfiction as a way to like... study and learn? outside of it being more practice and things. like sure, this is for entertainment first and foremost, but for me keeping the writing tone and characterization as accurate as i can to then transform it more into a writing style to create something good just ends up in me like, intensely studying the source material. i don't ever go off of memory i fucking break that shit down, study dialogue patterns and write down literally everything the characters i'm writing for say, observe the structure and themes and tone of whatever i'm looking at, watch and analyze things until i'm sick of them and come out a better writer because of that hands-on observation and because i simply fucking hate when other people go off of memory while writing characters i like ❤️

#💬#like what better way to study something you like than to work within it's bounds for the most part?#i can't enjoy something if the vibes are too off... if it doesn't have the same level of cartoonishness...#same reason why a lot of fan characters are uninteresting to me #if i can't make things look straight out of the show i don't see a point #i've become such a stickler for canon EXCEPT for when i think i can do better (often)#sometimes i definitely need to make vibe adjustments but i can't imagine straying too far from things unless i'm being artsy on purpose #definitely a lot of reslly great more transformative stuff don't get me wrong. lots of ways to do that right #cus i think something being really cool can easily outweigh accuracy #just as everyone has their own style #but for the most part i like to color within the lines #it's weird though because i'm always a lot looser when looking at other people's drawings and things #like i love a good shitpost but for some reason writing just isn't made for that to me #i just feel like for a lot of people it's more just playing with dolls than creating art #which is fine! but i'm too much of a perfectionist for it

I can't help but love them! They are just so precious. And honestly they are incredibly loving to me too! Sometimes the world seems so big and impossible, and I'm just one insignificant human among billions. But to my girls, I am their whole world. And every day they show me how much they love me. So I can never let them down. We are just a little multi-species family who loves each other very much!

Earlier today Scoria was playing in my blankets with me laying next to her, and she came over and wanted up on me. I put her on my chest and laid with her head over my heart. We just relaxed like that for an hour- I'm pretty sure she fell asleep for a bit because when I picked her up she did the biggest yawn ever.

Sakura is becoming a little sweetie pie too. She's very timid but usually snuggles me at least once a week now, and has gotten very good at staying calm while she's out. She's also gotten really good at target training! I'm proud of her progress. C:

I love my mommy and my sister thiiiiiis much. You can't see how much? Well that's cuz it's so big! We're inside it, it goes for miles and miles and miles!

realizing that it sounds kind of mean for me to be referring to this fic as the “cringe loser” fic if you don’t have the extensive lexicon i’ve created in my head for the lengthy opinion essay i haven’t written about how most people don’t actually want “good” autist-rep, they want “cool” rep even at the expense of ‘accuracy’. just believe me i say “cringe loser” with the highest degree of absolute affection

#N posts stuff #brief overview is: abed is generally one of the only characters i see lauded as Good rep #but there’s no way to quantify his representation in a way that successfully singles him out in the convo #ie; people claim it’s Good bc Harmon is autistic — doesn’t hold up bc post-music sia now touts a diagnosis #so either you think she’s lying for obscure internet clout OR having an autisticwriter in the room isn’t The Thing that makes it work #‘if they would hire autisticactors tho’ but that doesn’t hold up either bc abed is portrayed by an allistic man #and when that MH cartoon with the autistic character dropped people immediately started mocking the voice acting #even tho she was played by an autistic actress. so that also doesn’t hold up #so what differentiates abed?#shaun murphy is ‘cringe’ bc he talks weird and has meltdowns #and wendy please stand by is ‘bad’ bc she lives in a group home #and attorney woo is ‘embarrassing’ bc she has motor skill issues and makes odd facial expressions #and the MH girl is ‘childish’ bc she talks weird #etcetera and so on. so why is abed different? i don’t know if his portrayal Is significantly different #i think he just ‘looks cooler’ than these other characters so people like him more #the deficits he has are usually throwaway jokes instead of things that are given narrative weight. so you can ignore them if you want #and if you wanted to argue that the Narrative of the show is what makes a difference then i would also disagree with you #bc abed is pretty extensively mocked in the show. a lot of his autistic traits are just the punchlines of jokes about his characters #(i mean every character on the show is so at least abed isn’t single out but i wouldn’t exactly call it Respectful)#and if you argue that it’s good bc it’s ‘unintentional’ bc harmon didn’t know he was autistic at the time #then i’d point out that abed is made the punchline of an autism joke within his first five minutes on screen #so they knew Enough about what they were doing to make him the joke. so i don’t believe that holds water either #anyway the argument doesn’t cumulate in the opinion that any of these shows are definitively Good Rep #bc the notion of Good Rep is so shakily defined that it’s hard to quantify and also a lot of the examples i chose aren’t like #‘good’ narratively even if i like the characters so im not arguing that they’re better or worse than community or whatever #it really is just an argument about people wanting things to look ‘cool’ more than they want it ‘real’#and that’s why you see autistic influencers literally bullied off social media by other autistic people for acting ‘cringe’ by.. stimming #and that’s it. bc they didn’t look Cool Enough when they did it #so i think we desperately need to embrace Cringe Losers bc i think the Cool factor is a bad one to measure by

#amanda collecting emos 2 recruit because the other 2 accomplice guys there suck and are stuffy #daniel pov is so funny #daniel is nervous but the grungy dude who clocked him and gave him a flier seemed on the level so he sneaks out of his house and goes #2 the show w a friend. the music sucks but daniel thinks its sooo cool being around a bunch of degenerate young adults #maybe the dude (cough cough adam) who gave him the flier is in the corner not having any fun and when daniel goes to say hi he gives him #a shirt off the merch table #(queue adam getting yelled at and having to pay for the shirt or whatever)#all this and then months later he gets put in a jigsaw trap and his dad gets killed but the girl who probably killed him was kind of his #only friend in the jigsaw trap. and looked out for him the whole time and had her life ruined hardcore by his now dead dad #so hes pals w amanda even tho he probably feels super fucked up abt everything #he goes to the jigsaw lair w her because amanda is psuedo trying to recruit him but is making it more than obvious shes fucked up abt #doing any of this and is being super manipulated by the head serial killer guy but ehatever hes 17 and traumatized and wants to stick around #and holy shit the flier guy is there and apparently he was also in a jigsaw trap and is also very aware this is a cult #but he set up a wii so daniel takes turns playing guitar hero w adam and amanda #click #daniel

Tbh i don't know what to think of AI art anymore. I don't find any utility, personally, in centring the discussion on law and copyright; there are far more interesting things to discuss on the topic beyond its use as a replacement for human artists/workforce by the upper class

#rambling #i am not saying i think using AI image generation to replace human artists and leave them jobless is a good thing - i do think that is bad #there are real concern on the ethics of its use and creation of image generation models #but i think focusing only on things like how ''off'' or ''inhuman'' it looks or how ''soulless'' it is are not only surface level complaint #but also call to question again the age old debate of what is art and what isn't and why some art is and why some isn't #and also the regard of painting and other forms of visual art production as somehow above photography in the general conscience #i would love to really talk about these things with people but talking about ai art and image generation is a gamble between talking to #an insufferable techbro who only sees profits and an artist who shuts the whole idea off without nuisance #i have seen wonderful projects by human artists using ai image generation software in creative ways for example #are those projects not art? if they are are they only art because they were made by someone already regarded as an artist?#there are also cool ai-generated images by random people who don't regard themselves as artists. are they art? why or why not?#the way AI image generation works - using vast arrays of image samples to create a new image with - has been cited #as a reason why ai-generated images aren't ''real art''. but is that not just a computer-generated collage? is it not real because it was #made by an algorithm?#if i - a human artist - get a bunch of old magazines and show them to an algorithm to generate new things from them #or to suggest ways in which new things could be made #and then i took those suggestions and cut the magazines and made the collage by hand. is that still art? did it at some point become art #or cease to be art?#i think these things are far more intriguing and important to get to the root of ethical AI usage in the 21st century than focusing on laws
