Ok so I finally watched Prodigy ! And it was surprisingly good. This is obviously a kids' show but I ended up being pretty invested in the story. The main character started as Ezra Bridger-ass annoying but he's grown on me. Genuinely I think this might be the best new trek show with Lower Decks lmao. It even got me caring about what happens to CHAKOTAY of all things !

Also it had GREAT alien rep omfg there were so few humans I LOVE THIS SHIT !!! especially UFP founding members rep ahhhhh !!!!!!!!!! I've been wanting this for YEARS they did it for me

Thoughts on ‘Is it Over Now?’ ?

I love it! I was very troubled when I first heard it (it’s a troubling story!) so it took some time but it’s really grown on me. It’s so powerful. I love that it’s the dark flip side to songs like Style or Blank Space—which have layers to them and are truthful but are also soooo cool and Chill-Presenting, if that’s the word I want. Taylor is never Chill(TM) (a blessing) but 1989 was the era where that’s what she was kind of presenting to the public. The sadness and reflection are still present in the standard album itself —I’m always so haunted by something I read at the time about how the album starts with putting broken hearts in a drawer and then ends with Clean, the broken heart did not stay hidden for long—but this is REALLY the stuff she was holding back in telling the story. And to see the messiness, the hurt, the sadness, every detail stored up and memorized and saved, is so powerful. Because it’s always there every time.

Also I personally am obsessed with Taylor expressing the sentiment of “did you THINK I DIDN’t SEE—-” in any of her songs. She ALWAYS sees!!! She’s always watching.

So yeah.
