Shower thoughts about "kids shouldn't be allowed on the internet until (insert arbitrary age here)" and "kids shouldn't even know about sex until (insert arbitrary age here" are adjacent flavors of the same incredibly flawed idea that like...

There are these Big Things that, when we reach a certain age, are likely to be day-to-day relevant in our lives. Even if we don't have sex daily or use the internet daily, these topics come up in our media, our discourse, our news, our surroundings, every single day.

And the "kids shouldn't be using the internet" thing posits a reality where we can keep kids from knowing about it or wanting to use it - when many parents use it daily! - until some arbitrary time when "they're ready" and then suddenly they are allowed to, with all the knowledge and skills and curiosity of being that age, go loose on something they've never learned how to use. Likewise with sex, the ages most people say it's "okay" when they make these arguments are usually teen years, when the AVERAGE age when USAdians lose their virginity is 17. Considering how many people on this website routinely report being virgins in their 20s or 30s, how many kids are fucking at 13 to make the average that low? What do you think happens if their sexual awakenings come at the same time *or before* anyone has given them age appropriate sex ed?

For the internet, I can actually say anecdotally, what happens! Because we got internet at home when I was 12. Issues included me spending ludicrous amounts of money on pay-by-the-hour usage (did you know that in the mid 90s AOL charged by the hour? Now you know.), addictively hanging out in chats and playing muds until 2 am, then attending school daily on 4 hours sleep, fending off countless A/S/L messages from weirdo old dudes, and being solicited for cybersex with strangers! And I had no idea what I was doing! And here again is the overlap of internet and sex!

Anyway. I told myself I'd keep this short but here we are.

Age-appropriate sex-ed, age-appropriate internet usage, age-appropriate [insert thing you think kids shouldn't know anything about at all for some fucking reason] will almost always keep children safer than throwing them in the deep-end when they're older.

Rebels has been a comfort show for me longer than I’ve actually cared about star wars (my grade 6 self loved watching Disney XD on tv what can I say🤷🏻‍♀️)

And the main reason is because of how much the ghost crew loved each other..they were a family and I loved that about them

Anyways, I haven’t felt that same comfort until The Bad Batch and I just love it so much

I’m gonna feel super empty when this season ends :(

Reasonably, I'd want Venom to interact with the other assassins guild characters.

... But apparently Dizzy had a pretty random set of characters featured in her arcade mode, and if I were to pick someone a little more random...

I'd want to see him and Elphelt get some interactions in could you imagine how much fun that could be??

I'm really enjoying the episodes but the lack of Echo is genuinely making me salty to the point where I just feel annoyed every time we get another episode where they don't use him. Especially when there're points where it would be really good to have him there!

To have a character who people begged would get more development following season one actually begin to have significant development only to fall victim to ever decreasing screen time as his story gets more interesting is disappointing ngl

[Darkrai sighed as they left the building. They had see the posts showing Latios' concern...and they knew they'd be found out eventually. They had asked to meet up on top of Rose Tower, which was currently isolated. They could feel themselves fluster slightly as they saw him at the top.]

"Hi..." Koko started. "I made it, like you asked."

"Hehe, glad to see you here." They paused for a second, pulling out the basket of Pecha berries they had bought in Cristalin. "I, uh...got you these. I know they're your favourite."

[Koko's eyes lit up at the sight of the basket. He took it from Darkrai's hand, a warm smile on his face. He happily ate one of the berries before the two fell quiet.]

"...was that bouquet from you?" Darkrai asked, tilting their head at the Tapu.

Koko felt his face flush, closing off part of his shell from the nerves. "Yeah...I know you find roses pretty, so..." He trailed off, his gaze meeting the ground. "Look, there's been something I've been meaning to tell you and you asking to meet up was the perfect ti—"

"I love you too."

"...huh?" Koko gave a look of surprise, his face going more red. "H-how did you...figure it out?"

"Well..." Darkrai averted their gaze. "I brought you up here to tell you the same thing. It's fate." They approached the blushing Tapu, holding their hand out, waiting for Koko's permission before pulling him closer. Koko embraced Darkrai, the two in a world of their own. They were one of the few beings that he fully trusted...they understood him.

"Shouldn't you get back to Hammerlocke...?" Koko questioned, a hint of worry in his tone.

Darkrai gave a chuckle, "I know, I know. Oh, and one more thing." They placed a light kiss on Koko's cheek, getting a surprised squeak in response. "Hehe. You're so sweet."

"Heyyyyyyyyyy!" Koko retreated into his shell as Darkrai giggled. He didn't mind, really. This was all just new to him.

"I'll see you soon...darling." Darkrai winked before flying back off to Hammerlocke.
