Backstory

Born into a strict pure-blood family, Ode was raised to be a perfect, obedient girl. Her temper and wits, however, were not to be easily controlled. From a young age, she started questioning her family's values and behaviour, often getting scolded for her 'too lenient' yet 'rebellious' nature.

This, especially, showed when her best friend, Kit, was announced to lack magical abilities. Despite her parents believing it to be shameful and forbidding her from any contact with him, the two kids would sneak out to meet each other regardless. Merlin forbid, she would not abandon her best friend.

The disdain for her family grew bigger with each year that passed yet she still tried to keep up the facade in social situations. Desperate to get away and seek independence, she applied for a job at the Daily Prophet after graduating from Hogwarts and quickly found her calling in investigative journalism. She'd occasionally dabble in activism for squib and women's rights, sometimes, even getting in trouble because of it. Luckily, her childhood 'friend', Melv would always bail her out. To her surprise, they sometimes found themselves working together, even landing them on the front page of the newspapers once.

At the age of twenty, she decided to move to London—mainly to put a good amount of distance between her and her parents. Little did she know she'd run into her childhood friend Kit there after years of scarce contact. Despite her wrath about him not writing as often as she would've liked, they quickly rekindled their relationship and got married a few months after – twins soon followed.

Personality: Ode is energetic yet mild-mannered. She has strong believes and is quick to speak her mind and stick up for others – and often gets in trouble because of it. Despite her fiery temperament, Ode values kindness and integrity above anything else and certainly knows how to charm people. Despite their differences and frequent arguing, they made a good team. And, for some reason, Melv was always there when she needed him. Even if she hated to admit it, she was glad he was around.

The two got closer after Kit's death as Melv offered her support when she most needed it and it quickly resulted in growing feelings and happy marriage.

The eldest daughter born to JULIETTE LA TREMOILLE - a difficult woman who’s vanity and notion of social standing consumed her every thought - and LOUIS DELACOUR; a kind man, who possessed a deep rooted sense of social justice; the pair were an unlikely match. While not a part of The Sacred Twenty-Eight, the Delacour’s held an elegant beauty that was envied amongst the french aristocracy. As the eldest, Lynette carried the weight of the Delacour name on her shoulders. While Lynette loved her family, the reservation and underlying dred gnawed at her with every glance at Aimee. Beauxbatons came at the perfect time. Fleeing the Delacour manor in a carriage pulled by abraxan winged horses, she found relief in leaving her mother’s secrecy behind and her newborn half sister. Challenging even the beauty of Veela’s, her charm and elegance captured many at the school leaving sorcerers fawning at her feet. Jealous witches deemed her ‘too good to be true’ as she spent her years excelling in her academics and flirting with boys from esteemed families alongside best friend ODETTE BEAUSOLEIL. While potions grew to be her forte, she became known around the school for her intellect as well as her beauty by those who sort to match her effortless grace. 

Donned as the example for her siblings, Lynette was scrutinised for not keeping them in line. Chastised for her younger sibling’s reckless behavior, CLAUDETTE’S disobedience and disdain for life in high society was a continuous strain on Lynette. Covering for Claude countless times, who was too distracted in her active rebellion against her mother’s wishes to fully grasp the consequences of her actions. Plucking leaves from Claude’s hair with displeasure and an often sturn icy exterior, she primmed her siblings to their mother’s liking knowing that if even a single hair was out of place Lynette would face the repercussions. Over time, a strain grew between the sisters. Lynette grew tired of playing fiddle to her mother’s whims, only for her actions to be undermined timelessly by Claudette. Having graduated and made a name for herself within high society, Lynette accompanied her close confidante SELENE SNYDE to an esteemed party unbeknownst of the company she’d soon acquire. One sorcerer that captured her attention was that of CASTOR WILKES; a beauty to behold their dark sensibility felt almost intoxicating to be around. Holding a sense of self entitlement, while she judged them for their candor and brash ways, they seemed elated in finding Lynette’s pressure points. Uttering inappropriate comments into her ear as they danced, they were challenging and pulled at Lynette’s tightly wound strings. A shared pointed look from across the room, they promised that the mere presence of them in her company could guarantee her the match of the decade; to none other than a member of The Sacred Twenty-Eight. 

Words like music to her ears, they forged a false union under the pretense that it would flock more potential marriage contracts to Lynette’s door step. Elated in the attention that she received, Lynette basked in her new found suitors; devouring the words of notable members such as OSIRIS NOTT and ASTRAOTH SNYDE; who bore her flowers and gems in hopes to win her hand. Frustratingly, despite those coming to pay her a kind word, Castor always found their way into her thoughts. Infuriated by Castor’s general lack of interest in unionship, Lynette appeased the interest of Astraoth and quickly became the gossip of Witch Weekly. Despite capturing the attention of a noteworthy member, Lynette’s heart belonged to Castor. Burning with desire for them, the pair played cat and mouse as they toyed with the other’s heart. Though in the end, they both found that despite everything they unaquiffically couldn’t scorn the other from their heart. With everything that came with being an ‘perfect’ pureblood, their love for one another was not one either wanted to sacrifice. Breaking off her relationship with Astraoth, Castor and Lynette were quickly married; unable to bear the thought of being apart a moment longer. Content in her new marriage, Lynette glowed with the knowledge she’d secured a true match. While not Twenty Eight, the name was renowned and well established for her mother to be appeased if not overjoyed for her eldest. Everything was seemingly perfect, until Claude shared the news of her planned elopement with none other than EVANGELINE SELWYN, whom she’d been secretly dating for years.

Dc Bombshells is legit how I found out I was bisexual, if you do it skip annual (bombshells is my favorite comic out of all of dc)

No one buys diversity, so diversity is not made. You’ll have to go to the 90s for that most of the time, at least if you want a main PoC character. Avoid new 52 (“is it that bad?” Go into the anti new 52 tag. Hard mode: find a character that isn’t being complained about.) Avoid Heroes in Crisis, even if your new fave is in it. I also think rebirth (current reboot) is bad but that’s up for debate I only read old shit and the rare good modern ones

YJ is cute! So is Teen Titans (older). I love Renee Montoya as The Question, you should check her out. There’s a Shazam comic, since you liked the movie. theres also Legion of Super-Heroes, wonder twins, and Batman beyond. I’m just listing them for options, if there’s any I say “go for first” it’s Blue Beetle 2011(Jaime is baby), or Birds of Prey 1999 (Oracle, Black Canary, and more)

Robin: Son of Batman is great, and so is Agent 37. A lot of people love Dick Grayson! He’s fun but remember: he’s Romani just white passing like Wanda & Pietro don’t let anyone tell you different. Vixen (sexi animal wife), black lightning, hellblazer (magic man), midnighter (gay Batman), poison ivy (plant babe), firestorm (jock & nerd), supergirl, green lanterns (Jessica & Simon are the dream team), and nightwing are great. If any of these pique your interest just ask about them and I’ll give you info n send a rec list.

Anyway read DC Bombshells except skip annual (the only complaint I found was someone going “uhhhh lesbians didn’t exist then uhhhh not enough straighties” so I’m gong to hate-reread ITS SO GREAT)
