I was drawing something about Ruby and how she'd be feeling but while I was jotting things down, it made me think: is it really worth it?

I mean even the writers just brushed it off.

She lost a family member and the story handles it with a bystander going she cried a lot but she overcame it with friends, and started shining, became everyone's idol! She's truly someone sent by a god to bring light to darkness! In a few panels

That's it.

They could have had this same idea going but illustrated it with some depth into it. She lost her TWIN. Someone who she lived with all her life right beside her! And he was someone who she had a very unique and special type of bond with over the span of not just one life but two. But Aqua's presence and significance is just nonexistent in the final chapter. What he meant to Ruby was huge and it's not illustrated very well because Ruby doesn't get to speak for herself in the last chapter.

If that's what the authors deem is for the best, then what is the point of me trying to make it out? They clearly don't want to share it so much in depth even when they have the skills to, so this is what they want to do with their work and handle Ruby. I think this is coined this way to portray the nature of how idols "appear" as. Ruby isn't... Handled like a human being in the last chapter or the past several chapters actually. I'm not even sure if Aqua understood her well because he viewed her very idealistically the way he described her. Yeah.. Ruby did turn out the way Aqua described her as but that's how she appears outwardly. It's her shell. So sending out love is a role of hers now huh? But where is her personality as a person? She gives out love to people but... That can be achieved through anyone who has those "eyes" or "talent" isn't it? It actually doesn't have to be Ruby or herself as a person if it's about the eyes, it's more about the ability? You can put out a pretty doll out there and if it's charming enough, wouldn't it achieve the same effect?

I liked the movie arc a lot because it showed Ai was a human being but people wished her to be a cute, perfect and a convenient doll that could love anyone. Isn't THAT exactly what Ruby's become in the end? I didn't really take Ruby to be that way but the ending makes it seems like she's worshipped for a shell she's developed. It doesn't feel genuine. And I think that's intentional so why... What point does the author want to make about this industry~~~ Ai sends out a way better message in terms of what an idol goes through!!! This is so unfair to Ruby!!!

Everything Kamiki said was so right I just. Everything played out the way he said it would. People don't see Ruby as a person, the same way it was like for Ai. Ai wanted her truth to be out there though!! Ruby isn't following her mom's legacy~~~ I went oh he had insight!! He knew what was going to happen to his daughter!! He saw the same thing happen to Ai of course he would have. Aqua should have stayed beside Ruby and cheered her on. There is no point. On everything. Kamiki SAID he should go watch Ruby's journey as an idol? Doesn't that mean!!! He'd have let her live through it!! Dunk him later then!! Or is it that Aqua wouldn't be able to find him later? Honestly I really think!! The guy tried to bring back Ai, that was what he was gonna do- considering mephisto and fatal's lyric I feel the guy was going to die anyway even without Aqua having taken those measures??? He doesn't seem like he had a will to live ANYWAY but sure, Aqua sure. take your dear life along with him. This isn't explained.

It does make me think: why should I care about a work the author has dropped...how can this writing be something that isn't ditched. Let's face it, it is. That's the sad part. If I could feel the author did their best within the abilities they have, I'd still feel it's loved. But I'm not sure if they care for their own work?;; what's the point on trying to work with something the writers themselves don't care for?; I want to be convinced they do. But it's pretty hard to believe so. You have to love what you create or have some sort of passion in it to get it across to people. I couldn't really feel it in the end. So despite the art being very good.. I can't feel so much about it and it doesn't really give out a better message than it already did in the beginning of the series either. That's quite saddening. I hope they don't do something like this ever again in the pieces they write in the future, I'm not going to follow them because it's too risky to follow an artist who does this about their piece, regardless of how talented they are.

What is the show you've most enjoyed, either that you are currently watching, or finished recently?

Hmm...I'm enjoying Oshi no Ko right now, as well as the new season of Kimi ni Todoke. But the series I still keep thinking about (it doesn't help that I just read volume 11 of the manga) is Frieren. MY FAV!

2024 Summer Anime

Sorry I'm late on this - I'm going back to school for a second degree this fall so it's been chaos Lots to look forward to for this season!!

Oshi No Ko - Season 2 Such a killer series that I think a lot of people have been looking forward to the second season. They did a great job giving us something to look forward to in the story. Must Watch Noteworthy On-Going Shows: Tensura - Season 3 MHA - Season 7 New Seasons:

Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest This series was one of my first "longer" shows and I still love the original series. I know it really fell off with the 2014 reboot and the ecchi scenes were ramped up but I think 100 Year Quest gives it a nice fresh start now that people kind of know what to expect.

Additional New Seasons: Kimi ni Todoke: Season 3 A romance drama that my friend has tried to get me to watch for over a decade now. Tower of God - Season 2 I never finished season 1, but I've heard that this series is supposed to be highly reviewed and anticipated. Will go back and watch season 1 to catch up. Shy - Season 2 After letting this series sit for a minute, I'm not entirely sure I'll go back and watch the second season. I think there's definitely an audience for it, but I've got my list full of other priority shows at the moment.

New Noteworthy Shows: There's lots here for everyone this season.

Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction This is a big one I didn't realize was getting an anime adaptation. This is one of the highest rated manga series, I'd say of all time. I'm hyped to watch it. Done by a new studio called Production +h, the style looks perfect.

The Elusive Samurai This is a fairly new shonen jump series that has gained a lot of traction in the manga community. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but I've heard good things.

Rick and Morty (Anime) I have so many mixed feelings about this one. I love Rick and Morty but man, and I don't know if I want see them in Japanese/Anime since it's literally already an animations series - but then I realized, because it's produced by the same studio this could be a legitimate "version" of the series that's just a part of the canon Rick and Morty Universe which is kind of cool. Will just have to wait and see I guess.

Suicide Squad Isekai I'm completely on board with this one for some reason. Really not sure why, but it makes perfect sense to me. Honestly pretty stoked to watch it. (+ it's by studio WIT) Wistoria: Wand and Sword A kid enters magic school, although he can't use magic, he's particularly good with a sword. Almost like if Mashle were more serious and less out there? Read the first few chapters of the manga and enjoyed it quite a bit. The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies I think this looks really cute, will give it a few episodes. (Also because it's done by studio bones) Senpai is an Otokonoko A story about a highschool boy who cross-dresses, friendships between him, another female classmate and his childhood friend who's very protective of him. I'm curious to see how the story progresses and what kind of representation will actually be show-cased in the series. (Looks wholesome) Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines Amazingly animated slice of life of a group of girls who get rejected by the guys they like. (A1 Pictures) Plus-Sized Elf An elf that came to the human realm falls in love with junk food and now needs help and motivation to lost it. Ecchi series that I saw in manga format a few years ago that I wasn't really expecting to see an animated version for. Mayonaka Punch Has a super unique style that I'm interested to see if the story is actually worth watching at all. Delico's Nursery Same style as Mars Red - group of Vampires taking care of kids and murder mystery solving on the side. Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin - Anime Anime adaptation of the game, animations and character design look great.

Lots to check out this season, seems like a good bunch that are actually worth watching too. Enjoy!!

Here are my 2024 anime recommendation.

Note: I'll only mention sequels i liked, mostly as part of a series.

1.

Akuyaku Reijou Level 99: Watashi wa Ura Boss desu ga Maou de wa Arimasen/Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord

An expectionally powerfull last boss trying to escape her fate of death. Funny, enjoyable and fasctinating. The main trio (Yumi, Patric and Ellenora) Are simply the best, there is magic, there is dragons, there are dumb OG male lead being put in their place. There is a great animation. There are a a few losers who won me over/pos. Cute romantic side-plot (we stan), and themes of friendship!

Very Recommended.

Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai/YATAGARASU: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master

A story following an assistent of a prince and the prince itself, investigating the supernatoral mysteries of Yamauchi a kingdom, which in the subjects are human like creatures who can turn into giant crows. Low-Key an intellectual anime that has references me, as the simple person could not unerstand without googling it (I didn't and still had fun) But it dosen't justify HOW underrated this anime is.

What is my /pos ? I don't think there was a single important enough character I, as the audiance didn't misjudge. and I am usually pretty much hard to surprise, plotwise. I like the piece of media I am watching/reading being unpredictuble and if you do, as well, adding to a stirring, delightful clever plot, with action, fantasy, bunch of mystery and some thiller, Watch YATAGARASU.

Bonus: A must-watch if you liked

Senpai wa Otokonoko/Senpai is an Otokonoko

A beautiful aesthetically made queer story, descovering themes of love, friendship and self acceptance. What dosen't it have? It won my points just being based on a masterpiece of a webtoon. The animation was great, the characters relatable, and incradbly human (They are all my most protect babies). Love tringle-ish, LGBTQ+ Themes, Including Nonbianry and Aspec characters. Senpai wa Otokonoko is mostly about love, with all if its shapes- Friendly love, familial love, romantic love, and different kind of bonds.

Also one of the better drama anime out there imo.

Madougushi Dahlia wa Utsumukanai/Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start with Magical Tools

Dahlia is a brilliant creative magic artificiant. Carfting magic tools (basically thecnology) for everyone to use. This story is about her dealing with life and growing over her hardships, independent, free, and loved.

The femmenist story we all needed. Taking place in another world and following Dahlia, who was a workoholic woman in her previous life, becoming a beatiful, intelegent smart strong independet woman! Dahlia wins over character just like she won my heart. Shojo as its best, featuring humen relationship and modern famminity. I love it. This one was so fun to watch. (Also I am a fun of fantasy readhead heroines like shirayuki and yona lol).

5.

Acro Trip

A chaotic story about a middle school girl who teams up with her magical girl oshi's arch enemy. They are all losers who share like, one braincell (affectionately) /pos.

My favorute kind if humor- an unhinged clever parody. (Like Kamikuzu Idol, for example) That makes my laugh my a** off without feeling like I am laughing on someone or being laughed at. Truely comedy at its best. The animation whas a banger, the character designs ate off, and there wasn't a single episode I didn't fully enjoyed. Watch it. Please.

Mahoutsukai ni Narenakatta Onnanoko no Hanashi/The Stories of Girls Who Couldn't Be Magicians

Kurumi Mirai's dream has been becoming a magician since she was a little girl. This dream can come true if she gets accepted to the magic program of Rettoran academy - Magumi. She took the test and was sure it was her time to shine as a magic student, if she just gets it- expect she didn't.

More magical girls cuz I can and cuz you should watch this amazing anime. This stories is about dreams, and what it means to follow and fullfil them. Is there a hope to fullfil my dream if not anything went as I planned? Should I give up on it? If so, when? Can I find a new dream? Is there more than one way to fullfil a dream? Rettoran is an acadamy for those with dreams- not only magic related. A lot of magical girls anime follow the team if dreams but MahoNare did it diffrently, elegantly, and heartwarmingly.

Oh. And there are also magic related mysteries, the best cgaracter desing this year (and there was compotition) and pastel-calming-magical animation. I love.

7.

Hoshifuru Oukoku no Nina/Nina the Starry Bride

Nina is a girl who is forced to act as the priestess Princess of her country even though she is just a commoner. She learns about love and being loved.

I simply loved this anime, okey? Fantasy story with mystery, court schemes, love, war, sweet baby tiger (/pos) friendship between girls, princes not-so-charming. And mostly, in the center, standing one rebellious, clever-yet-dumb, determined to get her goal heartwinning girl.

Rekishi ni Nokoru Akujo ni Naruzo/I’ll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History

An office lady was reborn as her favorite game character- Alicia Williams, the villianess of the game. The plot twist? She is determined to become, as Alicia, the best Villianess in the world.

This anime tests the Heroine-Vilianess dynsmics. The good girl/bad girl, how the patriarcial society expects women to be vs how the main character choose to.

Sequels that are part of a series I enjoyed:

High Card Part 2- High Card.

Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri 2nd Season- Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri

This is one of my favorite shonen anime (I don't have a lot of shonen in my faves), and well, one of the best I've watched recently. Mystery, supernetural and psychological (my holy trinity of genres)

It was fun. Listen to Fatal.

Hibike! Euphonium 3- Hibike! Euphonium

The 3rd season was low-key disapointing but just imo, there were a lot of people who liked it, and it's only comparing to the previous two season, that are almost flawless to me. Still made me cry, tho.

I'm honestly...so excited!! (Until the next chapter drops and have me make that same expression kamiki makes and leaves me in despair. What is this comic really)

It's confirmed that Ai really found someone so precious as having a soul defined as nobility.

That's what I'd give to her if I were the author myself. She's a character who wanted to find love and strived for it all her life, I would not settle with her having any less. I would give her the best one to love, ever. He was like that when they were together and I'm sure he still does have her in his heart.

She did everything she could for him. I think he's trying to do the same and has been really pushing himself to do it which went against his nature, which's putting him through so much suffering in the process to the extent of him almost entirely breaking apart. That's why he needs saving. He still has those remainders of kindness left, is he really, really THAT beyond hope because I feel Ai would get what she wants in the end?? If anything, I feel he's THE one she wants. To help, to have, to have loved from what I see, and I'm really happy to have confirmation that he really was that person worthy of her love. If he is, then I also feel it's very natural for him to try risking everything he has for her sake, that's what's being shown in the two songs Fatal and Mephisto. This guy...according to those songs, literally can't bear to live without Ai. He treasures her more than his own life. And I knew it. I knew someone who Ai would love would be that kind of person because they'd have been the one she hand-picked and decided to have children with that she very much adored. I knew that, but I'm still really relieved to see she got the best guy she ever could at that point in her life. You go Ai. She deserves the best person ever and if he has a soul like that he makes a pass.

I really think I'm on the right track! If you've seen me, I've been drawing so much hikaai the moment 154 and Fatal dropped. I knew what this was going to be about. I wasn't sure because it isn't my work and they aren't my characters, so I was nervous and worried, but I kept going because I believed in it.

Fatal isn't a bad song in terms of what you call love you know. I knew it was his, and with 154 adding the context that Ai was really fond of her boyfriend, I figured what would be the answer right away in my subconscience...

If anything, I'm really happy for Ai and I hope the one she loved didn't stray off that far, I believe the guy she chose wouldn't be like that. He seems GOOD. I'll believe what I actually see and make of him, that's another message onk puts out there isn't it? You shouldn't just blindly follow what's been presented. Things are fabricated, exaggerated, with everything inconvenient being completely concealed. I want to look into the guy she loved that much with my own eyes. I can tell she REALLY had a heart for him, and I agree she was right. She's the one character that should be right when it comes to "loving", her theme is about it. Her eyes are "loving eyes". Her name means "love of a star". I wouldn't be surprised if she's the "god who loves people". Amenouzume does bless marriage and love because she found her own love and made her way into his territory, he was a really good guy too. She found the virtuous god who leads beings to goodness to choose as her husband. Can you even find someone who's better than that? She has the best eyes when it came to finding someone to love! It came off as a really cute story for me, and I feel like that's what's happened for her too. She found a really sweet boy she found cute and sort of just.. picked him up, took him in. And he really did love her back a whole lot. I wonder what would happen afterwards but that much IS what's happened. That part of it is very endearing. I'm happy she did find her love you know! So what I wish is for it to end up in a good way that she wants.
