Bringing Otaku Ministries Together at NCMU 2024

NCMS 2024 is in the books!

A week ago, I asked for your prayers as Jake (one of our writers and our small group overseer) and I made our way to this year’s Nerd Culture Ministry Summit. People from all over the world (hello, Germany!) traveled to the Garden of the Gods and Glen Eyrie Castle to hear from experts in nerd ministry, connect with one another, worship and pray, and just nerd out about gaming and of course, anime!

In fact, with encouragement from Gwen of Jesus Otaku, we went further with that last bit, organizing a meeting of the minds of people who use anime in their ministry or are considering how to do so. And of all the many things I took away from this event (and which the Holy Spirit laid on my heart), that meeting was the most memorable. Our group shared our hearts for anime fans, worked through possible ministry routes, prayed, and of course, gabbed about our favorite series!

Beneath the Tangles Prayer Group | November 18 - 24 Prayer Requests

Here are our prayer items for the week:

18 - Pray that God will provide financially for Beneath the Tangles and that we’ll use our finances raised through Patreon (http://patreon.com/thetangles), Ko-Fi (http://ko-fi.com/beneaththetangles), and other platforms in a faithful manner.

19 - Pray that our social media platforms reflect Christ and for our staff as they develop content and interact with followers. May we model Christ every step of the way.

20 - Many Christians find our site as they seek resources about anime. Pray that we’ll be able to support and encourage them to seek God more fully on their Christian walks.

21 - Pray that God will raise up the new staff, partners, and volunteers that Beneath the Tangles requires.

22 - We want to envision big things, including a ministry that shakes down walls for Christ across the vast space of the anime fandom. Pray that fans will think of Jesus when they think of anime, and may BtT be a way in which God makes miraculous things happen in this sphere.

23 - Pray that Christian voice actors will be good witnesses to the industry and their fans, and find spiritual support in their struggles. Our Christian friends in the voice acting community include Caitlin Glass, Luci Christian, Jordan Dash Cruz, Kelsey Cruz, and Amanda Gish.

24 - We’re kicking off a week of thankfulness by asking you to pray in thanks for our readers, followers, and subscribers. We are so thankful for your passion for our ministry and hope we can continue to create content that carries you along with our mission!
