kinda funny how most programmers would prefer to not have to touch apple products with a ten-foot pole but if you talk to basically any designer over like 25 they'll swear up and down and backwards to friday that nothing could ever hold a candle to any apple product

update: peach is doing very well!! she's eating and sleeping normally (sleeping more than normal, really, but that's to be expected)!! after 3 days of not sleeping and a few changes in painkillers, she finally just napped for an hr then, after another day, slept through the whole night (and most of the next day). she's started following all her usual routines again and is very keen to eat! still on some painkillers, but they're not having any horrific side effects anymore
now that im not staying up to keep an eye on her all night (while also dealing with upgrading my computer and my phone and also my sister preparing to go overseas and the dogs barking and howling constantly due to all of the above), i finally got some decent sleep too and slept for about 14 hrs. so today ive got that weird shakiness that i get from sleeping too much, but hey it's better than the whole of the last week
#personal#and i have a working computer that's finally on windows 10 so that's one less thing to have background stress about#and i have a working phone for the first time in.. a year? 1.5 years? idfk. my previous phone was 16gb so i could fit like 2 apps#could barely take pictures (and couldnt store them) and couldnt update most of my apps because i couldnt update my os because no space#so every app ran slow and then eventually my phone would crash if i opened the storage section of the settings#so i couldnt even offload apps so i could delete them while keeping the data for when i downloaded them again#couldnt order medicine remotely because my chemist only lets you do that from the app (not the website)#couldnt control the aircon because that could only be done through an app#missed loads of stuff because i didnt have email notifications because i could only use my browser for emails#couldnt see tumblr polls on mobile because i couldnt update tumblr because i couldnt update my os#left the house less because i had to delete pokemon go and that genuinely helped me go for walks#ive been dealing with all that for a year so this is very exciting and such a ridiculous qol boost#it sucks how much something like that affects your life. what do you mean i need an app for everythingggg#but god im just glad peach is ok. like there was a moment when i was so stressed trying to update my computer because it wasnt working#and then she ate a small bit of food for the first time in 3 days and just. everything was suddenly fine again#and the other night i spent like 6 hrs just sitting here downloading and installing things on my computer#but it was fine because peach was on the chair next to me sleeping through the whole night and it was such a relief#my sister finally got her flight yesterday (after it was moved four days in a row) so that's just one less thing happening#ive started playing bg3 so that's cool and maybe ill get a chance to actually properly watch that new dav trailer lmao#that premiered at 2am on the first night peach was home from surgery and hadnt eaten or slept yet and i was too stressed to care about dav#and it really just went downhill for the next few days#god. ok. today is the first day i can actually breeaaaathe

My F/Osā Game App called āWife Her Upā. A romance game filled with fluff. A game where you can meet the love of your life through different ladies and many different meet cutes.
A game with many special events, whether it be holiday specials, high school/university/engagement/post marriage anniversaries events special. A game where you can meet young, develop friendships, encourage your future wifeyās personal growth and influencing her future dream careers, let romances blossom and flourish..Perhaps cheating and angst drama scenarios to those who wish to break their and our hearts just to feel the pain tearing them out from the inside.
At the risk of their future wifeys breaking down crying and their hearts losing their faith and trust in you, unknowingly pushing that sense of dread and distrust into their āRestartā / āLoad Saveā alternate universe.
The F/Osā (that are the gamers and selfshippers of their own world, selfshipping with us) previous actions in their former universe plaguing us through anxieties and nightmares.
But other than the cheating, itās just so sweet and heart meltingly wholesome. That extra bit of fluffy, cotton candy, sugary goodness that heals our F/Osā tired souls. Us who give them the hope, light, love and strength to believe that the world can actually be a truly good place. Even if only in their dreams of living a married, loving life with us who live in a different world than theirs š

Going through a straight up comical amount of irritating situations to get the stupid 4* guaranteed ticket from the welcome to sekai campaign. It Will Be Mine.
#Iām resuming this tomorrow itās been hours now Iām just mad#Iām home because my parents are moving to a different state and I needed to pack whatever was left#and for some reason we just keep old devices when weāre done with them#so I borrow an adapter to allow me to connect my ancient unworking iPad mini to my laptop#factory reset it. i have to reset an old email to access the old Apple id to fully reset it.#it wonāt connect to the wifi so I have to reset the settings. i find out itās too old to run pjsk.#i find an old phone that should work. i reset it as well. Iām able to download pjsk & it takes 20 minutes.#pjsk crashes everytime I try to open it. i attempt to run bluestacks on my computer. bluestacks doesnāt have 64 bit for mac yet.#i get a free trial of parallels and download windows onto my laptop. this takes 40 minutes.#i try to download and run bluestacks on that. m1 macs apparently canāt run bluestacks 64 bit through parallels.#i go find the final old phone that I had forgotten about. it takes forever to charge because the charging port is fucked up. i reset it as#well. it canāt connect to wifi. i try a hotspot on my current phone. service is too awful. i try to do wifi sharing from my laptop.#you have to be connected to the router via a cable for that to work.#at this point it has been like 3 hours. Iām giving up because Iāve been down this route before#when I attempted to run 32 bit steam games on m1 mac#(wine64 doesnāt exist for m1 macs yet -> attempt to run boot camp -> boot camp isnāt a thing anymore on Apple silicon -> attempt to run#several different programs that allow me to run windows on a mac. none of them work. ->#look into linux & give up. -> attempt to implement the unfinished/unbottled wine64 code thru terminal. ->#fuck up and delete some important file & have to fix that (misery inducing) -> keep trying. i think I downloaded a Mac coding program at#some point? i realize I have zero coding knowledge and this is a mistake. -> give up and purchase crossover. game doesnāt even work. ->#3 months later update to the latest OS so I can have enough storage to play psychonauts 2. find out the $60 crossover#purchase was a bad idea because āheehee crossover doesnāt work on that buy the new versionā (fuck crossover).#my toxic trait is my belief that I can figure out anything via google and sheer stubbornness. usually this is true. occasionally there are#exceptions to this rule. most of them are because owning Apple products is a mistake.#i think if I reset the router tomorrow I can solve this problem but I can also just go elsewhere with better service or wait until Iām home#now itās a matter of pride. and also free 4*/I have nothing better to do because Iām stuck here until Tuesday.#<- this is all normal behavior by the way. who doesnāt spend 8 hours ramming their head against a problem every once and a while. enrichment#mine#oh I forgot. i also looked into cloning the app but that would cost money for something that might not even work.#ājust log out and make an altā and risk losing my account? #okay so#i have a spotify issue#if anyone could help that would be appreciated#my spotify web player stopped working#it keeps skipping songs saying that āthis song can't be played right nowā or something similar#then starts playing a song but the sound stops after 10 seconds#i tried it both on pc and laptop and none of them works#i checked the āspotify caresā account on twitter to see if others have similar problems but none of spotify's solutions seem to work for me#i was thinking if maybe it's the os since i have win 7 on pc and win 8 on laptop and i know the pc app is not supported on these#but I don't think it applies to the web player#i cleaned the cache restarted the device logged out then logged in tried in incognito disabled plug-ins#none of these work#the mobile app does work but i mainly use the web player#it's been nearly a month pls i need my music š#reddit also doesn't have any solutions that work#i mean i basically just said that nothing works so i probably won't get any answers here either lmao#but does this happen to anyone else?#personal

No, seriously, it's easy. probably. Watch a Youtube tutorial. Load it from a USB Drive for fun. Dual-booting? Software is magic anyway. Linux is decades old and open source. Gotta be many user-friendly version. Many apps work. VM for those that don't. Easy. Am excited for to use settings again. I have a 1tb USB SSD. I can do dis. This has been the breaking point.
Do I know anything about linux? Not really. Am I good with computers? Pretty damn good.
I will be liveblogging my linux journey. Later. I am busy this month.

Laptop is finally starting to give up the ghost š it's a 2015 laptop so it stopped receiving OS upgrades a couple years ago š and MS Office hasn't been able to update in over a year š which has finally culminated in OneDrive no longer being able to sync to finder (or run at all as a desktop app) š
#i've been saying i need to replace it since it stopped receiving OS upgrades but oofa are new macbooks expensive and not really what i want#i got it at a five finger discount so my tolerance for wonkiness is pretty high but this requires a real pita workaround#where i need to save locally and then manually upload via the onedrive web app#i went through multiple major data loss events in college so yes i pay for onedrive#i dont really like gsuite bc i find sheets lacks some functionalities i use vs excel and i prefer desktop apps for office software#the size of my air (11in) is also perfect for travel so i'll probably hang onto it just for that since i do 1-2 overnights/mo for work#it is just like. come the fuck on. really? i know that nothing new will last this long :\
