Bubble AMV: Hibiki × Uta — Shikisai by Riria. 🫧

So I did a thing. I made an AMV for the anime, Bubble. This is actually my second AMV. The first one wasn't for the international anime fans, which is why I didn't share that one. But this time it's for everyone (as long as you watched Bubble, that is. Because AMV=spoilers, duh!).

Turn on CC for the English translation of the lyrics, which I translated myself on top of editing the video. Because the lyrics encapsulate Uta's feelings for Hibiki perfectly, so not understanding it would make you unable to appreciate the AMV to the fullest. And as a perfectionist translator, I just had to go that far to take the matters into my own hands!

Not gonna lie, it was a huge pain in the ass to do all that by myself. But the animation and the song are both so God damn beautiful that I enjoyed the process all the same. Well, hope the ones watching it enjoy it just as much, if not more! 🫧

The Making of “Bawat Lahat” — A Personal Essay

It was a random night during summer of last year when I decided that there was no way I could reach my dreams if I didn’t start somewhere. I had always been creating things, always making sure to keep my hands and mind busy at work—whether it be through an art piece, a writing material, or graphic designs. But this particular thing holds a special place in my heart that all else can’t access. That “somewhere” happened to be in my hometown in Rizal, where I found nine other hearts beating towards their own dreams.

The song is entitled “Bawat Lahat” directly translating to “Every Everything”, carrying the message of appreciating every small detail in life and not wanting to grow up from it. Bawat poot na aming dinadaanan. Bawat sakit na aming nararamdaman. Bawat kwentuhan, chismisan, at aminan. These are all the small yet important things that make up our lives.

Gab was a natural when it came to music, the same way that I was when it came to filming. And so, our dreams collide as we attempt to capture the core memories of teenagehood and friends.

The music video, filled with candid shots of our everyday lives from birthday parties to tennis practices, and even slow days where we do nothing but sit in each other’s company, ends with a question. “Bakit hindi mo kami sinamahan tumanda?” At the time that I was editing that video, I did not expect that it would come to life all too soon. That only weeks or months later would be the start of our living separate lives.

What used to be noisy streets full of laughter and nonsense turned into quiet paths walked in pairs instead of a group. The pain that used to be dealt together was now faced alone. And the occasional stories that we would tell each other now remained untold.

It was my first attempt at getting out of my comfort zone and doing something with the skills that I had spent my childhood honing. It became the mark of a new beginning in my career and a halt in a few friendships. I value this piece of creation most because, despite its imperfections, shaky angles, and off-tune editing, it is something I can never recreate or relive—irreplaceable, in other words. No amount of good acting, script, or editing can replace the innocence and bliss of this creation.

seriously though if you want to look into vtubers, or are looking for new or more vtubers/streamers to watch, or if you're just looking for something to watch in general, please check out the holostars. there's 10 of them in the english branch rn and they've all got such different personalities and senses of humor and streaming styles that its pretty likely you'll find at least one whose streaming content and community you vibe with. plus they're all very close so whenever they collab with each other those streams are always entertaining, and they stream with others outside of stars pretty often as well

since they're part of hololive productions that means they're also virtual idols as well, so if you like music they have several original songs and plenty of covers to check out! (axel and hakka have the most, octavio is catching up to them, and all the others have at least one cover each except ruze and goldbullet, though both of them are in armis' debut original and new year's cover (also i think one of them hinted recently they're working on a cover? but now i cant remember if it was goldie or ruze omg both of them i usually listen to at work so now i cant remember who said it))

also also the second generation, tempus vanguard, are getting their 3D models now, it's very exciting! bettel's showcase was the other day and is a very great example of the kind of show he likes to put on so check that out if you're interested (he was exteremly nervous at the beginning but did hit his stride by halfway through so keep that in mind, haha). flayon and hakka's showcases will be this weekend and are sure to be a blast as well, with shinri's showcase and the celebration collab with all 4 of them (and mostly likely some other guests) are going to be the following weekend!
