Sky still drinks a bottle of milk at bedtime & she has another when she wakes up. I mix a ratio of 75% organic soy milk with 25% chocolate protein milk for her, every time.
I’ve noticed that some milks make her stomach upset and she barfs, while others don’t. It’s not a vegan vs dairy issue, we’re sure it’s something else.
We had been giving her Pediasure for 2+ months (she didn’t barf the whole time) and my Mimi started buying her Orgain this week. She literally barfed the day after reintroducing her to Orgain, which I’d been buying in NY and she was getting sick more often. I chalked it up to her getting illness from her cousins or car sickness back then, but it’s definitely the milk.
We compared all three milks ingredients and it seems like Orgain is the only brand that uses sunflower oil + a fiber called inulin, which can cause upset stomach.
So now I wonder if she’s allergic to sunflower oil or some other random ingredient??? But poor girl she barfed en route to her friends birthday party today and I was like
wtf????? This milk is totally messing with her stomach đŸ„Č

30 days of me focusing on my macros has my after workout meals looking like:
Tumblr media
Post workout shake:
-Almond milk (1 serving) 30 cals (2 G protein)
-Dragonfruit/açaí frozen 30 cals
-Orgain organic plant protein powder 150 cals (21 g protein)
-chia seeds 19 cals (1 g protein)
Total shake: 229 cals (24 g protein)
Baked drumsticks:
130 cals (12 g protein)
Oikos Zero sugar:
60 cals (12 g protein)
Meal total:
419 cals (48 grams of protein đŸ’ȘđŸœ)
Not all of my meals has quite THIS much protein. But, it was right after lifting, so it’s the best time to kick it up. Many of us aren’t getting enough for our daily needs.
To find out how much protein you need in a day for an actively training adult, use this equation:
Weight (Kg) x 1.5 = protein total daily (low end 1.2, high end 1.7)
Be sure to convert weight to Kg!
Be careful. You can also get into trouble with excessive amounts of protein in a day, which done regularly could lead to health issues. Do the math or use an app and keep track!

I'll pay you money if you make a new powder food product that is a protein powder and carbohydrate meal replacement and multivitamin and B complex vitamins and multi mineral with
supplements in it like medicinal mushroom powders and herbs like maca and ginseng and taurine and L carnitine and guarana and creatine and steroids and I want it to have a salty sweet flavor like lucuma and Soylent — if it's gonna be in capsules, it doesn't need a flavor, but if it's gonna be in powder, then it needs a nice flavor
— it needs to have complex carbohydrates and wheatgrass juice powder and spirulina powder and cracked cell chlorella powder and barley grass powder and low sugar
— you can use sucralose to get a sweet flavor so you don't have to put sugar in it
— this powder needs to have the right ratios of vitamins and minerals so that you can take an entire daily dose of all of your vitamins and minerals with the meal replacer because what I see from other vitamin products is that they don't have the right ratios of vitamins and minerals and you end up taking too much of some of them and
not enough of the others when you take a double dose, so we need to even out the ratios so that the meal replacement protein powder will have the correct ratios of all the different ingredients in the powder and so people don't get sick and die from overdosing on vitamins, it's important the meal replacer needs to have low doses of
the dangerous vitamins, minerals and supplements so we can eat an entire stomach full of powder and not get sick from it so we don't have to cook food and have an entire raw meal replaced with a smoothie and it also needs to be raw vegan and biologique organic and it also needs to be very pure quality so that the manufacturing
ingredients don't contaminate the safetiness of the powder food product, and to make it perfect, put the entire meal in capsules so we can swallow the meal whole and not have to brush our teeth every time we eat and the capsules don't need fiber if we're gonna swallow them whole.
Basically, any vitamin, mineral, or medicinal supplement that you would take on a daily basis, you need to put in the new powder formula, even MDMA and psilocybin and mescaline and LSA and ayahuasca and THC and cocaine.
Would you ask the government if you can put Adderall and Vyvanse in the product? I know some people who can pull strings for us. My good friend B, Barack Obama, and my bestie and
boss man Dennis Francis can get us permission to legalize Adderall and Vyvanse so we can put The Addy and The Lizzy in the formula. While we're here, we might as well put LSD and PCP in the formula because they give you beast like energy and endurance enhancement.
I want you to put just enough of the drugs in the powder so that when you take them all at once, you feel comfortably high and it doesn't make you scared that you're too high because we need to take this on a daily basis.
I weigh 200 pounds because I'm a body builder and I lift weights every day.
I'll manufacture the drugs because I'm above the law and I have a written agreement with the government that I can manufacture illegal drugs if I want to.
How much money would you charge me to design this formula?
This would be so badass if we could make this powder — it would be like the coolest thing we've ever done so far.

icymi Orgain sold the majority stake in their company to Nestle
Orgain was created by a cancer survivor because he couldn't find clean protein shakes on the market.
He created his own company with all clean and organic ingredients, natural sugars, and using a wide variety of vegetables and fruits.
But sometime around mid 2022, he sold a majority of the company stake to Nestle, of all companies.
Here's one of the articles about it:
I noticed a change in taste right away, but since the owner had improved the formula two other times over the years, I figured he did it again.
Nope.
The goal of Nestle is to make as much money as possible while not giving a shit about the human cost or what they do to the environment. I can't say for certain, but I'm pretty sure they were behind the changes to Orgain powder.
Now there are several unhealthy sugar substitutes in it, almost none of the vegetables they used to have, and they no longer list the ingredients as clean sourced.
I was thrilled to find Orgain years ago because multiple family members have cancer, but for well over a year I was feeding them this new formula because I didn't realize what happened to the company.
If you use this product, check the ingredients again just to make sure you're still comfortable with what's in it.
Part of the agreement in 2022 included the option to acquire the rest of the company in 2024, so if you use Orgain, keep an eye on the ingredient list since it will most likely change again this year once Nestle fully owns the company.

The Best Protein Powders for Busy Moms
Being a mom is a full-time job (and then some). Between managing your baby’s needs, your household, and your personal goals, finding time to fuel your body can feel like an impossible task. Protein powders or protein smoothies can be a lifesaver, especially if you’re working on rebuilding muscle or gaining weight. But with so many options out there, it’s hard to know which one is the right fit for your lifestyle.
Here’s a look at some great options, tailored for moms who need something convenient, clean, and easy to use.
Tumblr media
1. Whey Protein Powders
Whey protein is one of the most popular options due to its fast absorption and high protein content. Many whey powders, like Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard, are well-regarded for their taste and versatility. They mix well with milk and are packed with essential amino acids to aid recovery and muscle growth.
Best For: Moms who want a tried-and-true option that’s widely available and easy to use.
Considerations: Look for a brand with minimal added sugars and clean ingredients, as some cheaper options can be loaded with fillers.
Tumblr media
2. Plant-Based Protein Powders
If you’re looking for a dairy-free option, plant-based proteins like Orgain Organic Protein or Vega Sport are excellent choices. These powders often combine sources like pea, brown rice, and chia seeds to provide a complete amino acid profile.
Best For: Moms with dietary restrictions or sensitivities to dairy.
Considerations: Some plant-based powders can have a grittier texture or earthy flavor, so it may take a bit of trial and error to find one you enjoy.
Tumblr media
3. Collagen Protein Powders
Collagen protein powders like Vital Proteins are a fantastic option for postpartum moms. Collagen supports joint health, skin elasticity, and overall recovery, making it a great multi-benefit addition to your routine.
Best For: Moms looking for a protein boost with added benefits for skin and joints.
Considerations: Collagen isn’t a complete protein, so you might want to pair it with other sources of protein if you’re aiming to meet specific fitness goals.
Tumblr media
4. Clean-Ingredient Blends
Some protein powders focus on being as clean and natural as possible, with no artificial flavors or sweeteners. Options like FlavCity Protein Smoothies and Naked Whey prioritize high-quality ingredients and transparency, making them great for moms who want to avoid processed additives.
Best For: Moms who value clean eating and ingredient transparency.
Considerations: These options can sometimes be pricier, but the peace of mind is worth it for many.
What to Look For in a Protein Powder
When choosing a protein powder, consider these key factors:
Ease of Use: Look for a powder that mixes well with just milk or water—blenders aren’t always an option when you’re juggling a baby!
Clean Ingredients: Avoid products with excessive additives, artificial sweeteners, or fillers.
Protein Content: Aim for at least 20g of protein per serving to support recovery and muscle growth.
Taste: Let’s face it—if it doesn’t taste good, you won’t use it. Reviews and sample sizes can help you test options.
Finding What Works for You
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to the best protein powder—it’s all about finding what works for your body and lifestyle. Whether you’re focused on quick recovery, muscle building, or simply staying energized through your busy day, the right protein powder can make a huge difference.
What’s your go-to protein powder? Share your favorites or tips in the comments below!

The Best Plant-Based Protein Powders for a Healthy, Vegan Lifestyle
When it comes to maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet, protein is essential for muscle growth, recovery, and overall health. For those following a vegan lifestyle, finding high-quality protein sources can be challenging. However, the market has seen a rise in the availability of good vegan protein powders that cater to plant-based diets, offering both protein and added nutritional benefits. Whether you're an athlete, fitness enthusiast, or simply someone looking to improve your overall health, plant-based protein powders are a convenient and effective option. In this article, we’ll dive into some of the best plant protein powders available, with a particular focus on those that incorporate greens for an added health boost.
What Makes a Good Vegan Protein Powder?
A good vegan protein powder should contain a complete profile of essential amino acids, which are crucial for muscle repair and growth. Unlike animal-based proteins, some plant proteins are considered incomplete, meaning they lack one or more of these essential amino acids. Therefore, choosing a protein powder that blends various plant sources like pea, rice, hemp, and chia ensures that you’re getting a well-rounded nutritional profile.
Additionally, the best plant protein powders are those that are minimally processed and free from artificial additives, sweeteners, and preservatives. Organic options are becoming increasingly popular, as they ensure you’re not consuming any harmful pesticides or chemicals. If you are looking for extra nutritional benefits, some plant protein powders also come fortified with greens, providing you with additional antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.
Best Plant Protein Powders to Consider
Orgain Organic Protein Powder Orgain’s Organic Protein Powder is often regarded as one of the best plant based protein powder on the market. Made with a blend of pea protein, brown rice protein, and chia seeds, it offers a complete amino acid profile. Additionally, it’s USDA certified organic, ensuring that the ingredients are free from harmful chemicals. Orgain also includes 50% of the daily recommended intake of vitamin C, making it a great all-in-one supplement for your fitness and health needs. Its smooth texture and variety of flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and peanut butter make it a favorite among vegan athletes.
Vega Protein & Greens If you’re looking for a protein powder with greens, Vega Protein & Greens is a great choice. This product blends plant-based protein from pea, pumpkin seed, and alfalfa with a mix of organic greens like spinach, kale, and broccoli. It offers 20 grams of protein per serving and provides a boost of antioxidants, fiber, and micronutrients from the greens. It’s ideal for those looking to incorporate more vegetables into their diet without having to eat large servings of greens. Plus, it’s free from artificial flavors and colors, making it a clean and nutritious option.
KOS Organic Plant Protein KOS is another standout brand in the plant-based protein powder market. Its formula combines pea protein, quinoa, and pumpkin seed protein, which offers a broad spectrum of amino acids. What sets KOS apart is its inclusion of organic greens like spinach and kale, along with digestive enzymes and probiotics. This makes it an excellent choice for gut health as well as muscle recovery. The protein powder is also organic, non-GMO, and free of dairy, soy, and gluten, catering to individuals with various dietary restrictions.
Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein Garden of Life’s Raw Organic Protein is a top choice for those looking for a high-quality, vegan protein powder that is both raw and organic. With a blend of 13 organic sprouted proteins including pea, chia, and quinoa, this powder provides a complete amino acid profile. Additionally, the inclusion of organic fruits and vegetables adds a nutritious element to the formula. Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein also contains probiotics and enzymes that aid digestion, making it easier on the stomach and a great option for individuals with sensitive digestive systems.
Benefits of Protein Powder with Greens
Protein powders with added greens provide several key benefits, making them a valuable addition to your diet:
Boost in Nutritional Value Greens like spinach, kale, and spirulina are rich in essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, C, K, and various B vitamins. They also provide important phytonutrients and antioxidants that support overall health, reduce inflammation, and protect against chronic disease.
Improved Digestion Many greens are high in fiber, which is important for maintaining digestive health. By including these greens in your protein powder, you can enjoy a more complete nutritional profile that supports healthy digestion and regular bowel movements.
Convenience and Increased Vegetable Intake For those who struggle to get enough vegetables in their diet, a protein powder with greens provides a convenient way to increase your vegetable intake without the need for extra meal preparation. Simply adding a scoop to your smoothie or shake can help you meet your daily vegetable goals.
Organic Greens Powder: A Perfect Pairing with Plant Protein
In addition to plant protein powders, organic greens powders are another popular supplement for those looking to enhance their nutrient intake. These powders typically contain a concentrated blend of green vegetables like spinach, kale, chlorella, and wheatgrass. Organic greens powder are particularly beneficial for their detoxifying effects, support for gut health, and ability to boost energy levels naturally. When combined with plant-based protein, these powders create a supercharged supplement that not only supports muscle recovery but also promotes overall vitality and well-being.
Conclusion
Incorporating a good vegan protein powder into your routine can provide numerous health benefits, from muscle recovery to enhanced energy levels. The best plant protein powder are made with organic, whole-food ingredients that deliver a complete profile of amino acids and added nutrients. When choosing a plant-based protein powder, consider options that include greens for an extra nutritional boost, as these powders offer both protein and essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Whether you prefer a simple protein shake or a nutrient-packed blend, the options available today are varied, making it easier than ever to find the perfect product for your needs.
By selecting a high-quality protein powder with greens or an organic greens powder, you can elevate your plant-based diet and enjoy the benefits of a well-rounded, nutritious supplement that supports your overall health and fitness goals.

Check for Allergens: Be vigilant about allergens like dairy, soy, or gluten. Opt for hypoallergenic options if you have sensitivities. Recommendation: Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein is a whole-food, plant-based option that avoids common allergens and is packed with nutrients.
7. Third-Party Testing
Quality Assurance: Look for labels indicating third-party testing for quality and purity. This ensures the product meets safety standards. Tip: Brands like Bulk Powders Pure Whey Isolate often conduct third-party testing to ensure you’re getting a reliable product.
