Together on a Quest
Tumblr media
Courtesy of this art piece goes to Your Femboy Shapeshifter!
When the world is thrust into great peril, there needs to be a hero to deliver it to peace once again. When you think of what makes a hero, one would assume a young man clad in armor, bearing a sword brimming with light and and a shield sturdy (and yet lightweight) enough to deflect all manner of monster strikes and sinister incantations. And how far would a hero get through his long journey but without a valiant steed to share that same spirited will for justice in a world overcome by sin and despair? Most importantly, a hero must be courageous, steadfast in seeing his goals met, and above all else, be a faithful example of mankind's love for all life that lives!
I am cosplayed as the Hero, Alef, from the very first Dragon Quest, and with me is my ever loyal companion Arthur the Keldeo!

References for both Kouperé and the three Pokéteers. (Yes. That’s what I’m going to call them from now on.)
Most of these concept images were drawn late last year. The one for Kouperé’s Resolute Form wasn’t worked on until very recently.
When it came to drawing these, I felt like I had the air of a professional. Like I could actually create high-quality artwork that people will care about. I hope I can continue to feel that way when it comes to my work.

Book XIII:
Poseidon, taking the form of the Greek army seer Calchas: Ajax! Other Ajax! I am here to give you motivation to protect our troops and our ships! Take heart, Achaeans! Rally! Fight! You can beat back the Trojans! Force them back! With your strength and courage, show the Trojans that Achaeans are not cowards!
Poseidon: *immediately swoops up into the air and disappears*
Ajax the Lesser: ...
Ajax the Greater: ...
Ajax the Lesser: so uh. That was a god, right?
Ajax the Greater: Yeah apparently

I just saw your Mizu hunter OC, absolutely adore them. Are shape-shifting OCs common in Monster Hunter?
thank you! as far as I've seen, they're not common at all, usually you either have a fully human or fully monster (both feral or anthro) OCs

actually I'm not done thinking about teru and ritsu's friendship. I think teru might be one of ritsu's first real friends. ritsu isn't like,, the most social kid in the universe, and I think he has plenty of superficial friends (see: "I talk about the weather with pretty much anyone") but I think the only real close friends he has are teru and shou. and I think it's bc both of them are people he met without his Perfectly Ordinary Middle Schooler mask. he has to fill the role of honor student, perfect son, doting brother, etc. all the time while ALSO trying to blend into the background and be inconspicuous, and that's part of why he lashed out like he did during the cleanup arc, but with teru and shou, his first encounter with both of them involved him being an arrogant little shit that's willing to pick fights, which contradicts the perfect kid act AND the perfectly ordinary middle schooler act, and is in fact much more honest bc he's not hiding this kind of nasty side to himself. and that honesty works out for him with these two! teru sees himself in ritsu because he's also kind of an arrogant little prick, and aside from initially trying (and succeeding) to intimidate him, teru looks out for him and risks his life trying to save him and they genuinely get along pretty well! and with shou, he sees that ritsu is willing to fight him on his own and he's like "oh you're fucking nuts, we need to be best friends now" and immediately respects him a lot just because he's not gonna run away from a fight he's certain to lose. idk, I just think it's important that ritsu's first real friends are ones who saw him in rather ugly circumstances and wanted to be friends with him anyway

The brutal contrast of Lava Lamp instantly agreeing to stay in the castle vs Syaoran at the start of Tsubasa having the same offer but continually refusing it, because he didn’t think it was proper.
And maybe that’s a natural difference between different sets of people in slightly different scenarios, or maybe it’s the general decline from 'Good' things into less good things when the timeline was interfered with. Like how previously Fujitaka was king and happily married to Nadeshiko, but the next time around Clow was king and Nadeshiko was nowhere to be seen, with Fujitaka already passed away. Like how Sakura used to be involved in purity rituals in the reservoir, but then it was just a ruin being excavated and nothing to do with Sakura.
I mostly just have a growing list of suspicions but let’s put a pin in it for now.

nghm okay my take on the neuvillette 'ships' is that they're...all kinda boring? theres a lot of interesting dynamics to explore dont get me wrong but for all of them romance is the least interesting option lol. first is because i dont think he's romantically-inclined by nature (aroace king) but also he intentionally tries to keep people at arms length because of his position as iudex (so even if he has friendly connections i cant see anything 'more' than that actually working out) .
however the most interesting juxtaposition for his character imo is being so filled with love for the world and the people around him and simulataneously not experiencing 'love' in the way a lot of people traditionally understand it. he loves people so deeply no he does not want to pursue any of them romantically. it doesnt even have anything to do with him being a dragon, he's just like that.

love an ending that is 'happy' in that a desirable outcome is produced, but made complicated by the fact that the protagonist has given up something integral to themself in order to make it so. it's sort of uncool in some circles to admit you LIKE when characters give up something really cool for something pretty basic, but it's all about context and quality of storytelling, right? that sort of conviction - this is a part of my personality that i am permanently renouncing access to, and it's my choice, and i'm going to miss it, but i'm not going to regret it - that's compelling. ending in which a character who loves nothing more than the rush of finding the answer to a question is handed, one day, a puzzle they just don't want to solve. and that part of their life is over, but it's not a bad thing. maybe the answer doesn't need to be known. maybe not knowing it opens you up to a creative mindset you never had before. character who gains some kind of special power chooses to give it up not because they no longer love the ability, not because it hasn't improved their life, but because this thing they love comes with costs, is getting in the way of a life someone they love or loved and lost would want them to live. i'm glad it turned out this way. i miss the missing thing with all my heart. i would let go of it again if i was asked to choose.

Patching Up an Oof on My Equine Friend's Hoof
Tumblr media
Artwork was done by Mariwoopy<3, you can find all her socials via her card she presented to me!
Tumblr media
It had been a pretty long day out off the beaten path, outside the boundaries of society and within nature's territory. Evan and his friend Keldeo, whom he likes to call Arthur (as a nod to a fabled young king who lifted a sword from a stone), had been spending their time together running across the Unova landscapes, having their own fun little adventure. Near the end of the day, Keldeo wound up with his hoof dinged up pretty badly by a big stone that fell off of a rock face. As soon as Evan ushered the steed to a nearby forest clearing where he can safely assess the injury, he quickly dug into his bag to grab some first aid items: pain-relief ointment, and some bandage to wrap around the irritated surface.
Initially, Keldeo was hesitant to accept this new form of treatment, having only been living in the wild and used to just washing his wounds by the water and then letting them heal on their own with rest alone, but his curiosity and Evan's calm reassurance helped him come around. They would talk as Evan mended Keldeo's foot to make him feel less nervous. Once the wound was cared for, they chose to stay in their spot for the rest of the night to let Keldeo rest his leg, as well as let Evan take a nap beside him, as surely both must be rather exhausted from their exploration. By morning, the hoof should fully heal, and it'll be like nothing bad happened.
(If you're wondering how I came to the title of the post, yes it was because I mistyped "hoof" to "oof")

I never really talk about my fursona too often bc I don't really have much reason to but I do have thoughts™️ about her to share from time to time. I don't really commission art of her either bc my moomin oc sorta takes then spotlight there and I've got so much story and lore for her whereas my fursona is just sorta. She was found in an arcade claw machine buried under everything else and though she looks handmade she does have a little fabric tag but the only thing on it is a small heart on both sides. That's about it story wise for now

story by me (craig)
I are literature
In the quiet town of Doodleville, there lived a peculiar doodle named Craig. Craig was no ordinary sketch; he was a cat with a mission. Despite his simple appearance, Craig harbored ambitions far grander than his humble origins suggested.
From a young age, Craig possessed an insatiable curiosity and a keen intellect. While his peers contented themselves with idle doodling, Craig spent his days studying the world around him, absorbing knowledge like a sponge. He learned about history, politics, and the intricacies of human behavior, all from the confines of his paper realm.
As Craig grew older, his ambitions expanded. He yearned for something more than the confines of Doodleville. He dreamed of venturing beyond the borders of his sketchbook and making his mark on the wider world.
One fateful day, Craig's opportunity arrived in the form of a stray pencil left unattended on the edge of his page. With a mixture of determination and excitement, Craig seized the pencil and began to draw. He sketched a doorway leading out of Doodleville, and with a final flourish, he stepped through into the unknown.
The world outside was vast and full of wonders, but it was also fraught with danger. Undeterred, Craig embarked on a quest to carve out his own destiny. Along the way, he encountered a colorful cast of characters, from mischievous doodles to formidable adversaries.
Despite the challenges he faced, Craig never lost sight of his ultimate goal: to leave his mark on the world and reshape it according to his vision. With each obstacle overcome and each victory achieved, Craig grew stronger and more determined than ever before.
In the end, Craig's journey was not just about conquering the world, but about discovering his true self and realizing his full potential. As he stood atop the highest peak, surveying the realm he had conquered, Craig knew that his adventures were only just beginning. For Craig was not just a doodle; he was a legend in the making, destined for greatness beyond the confines of his paper kingdom.
