Kept busy elsewhere in Russia and weakened by constant hammering of the R.A.F., the Luftwaffe has made no attempt to drop bombs on Moscow for many months. RUSSIAN HERO is Sergt. Korol who received the Order of the Red Star for his part in shooting down two Junkers and five Messerschmitt fighters.

STREET FIGHTERS have played a glorious part in the battle for Russia's cities as the Soviet army pushed back the Nazis. Typical street fighter in this Russian soldier, sighting his rifle.

A SPECIAL PAGE in the history of Russia's glorious fight in this war will be devoted to the guerrillas who, without uniforms or rank, are risking their lives to harass the enemy. Here an informal funeral service is held for a dead guerrilla. Note the wooden grave marker.
