mildly embarrassing confession: so i’m obsessed with no rolls barred plays blood on the clocktower and i don’t watch nrb outside of it but i really like the cast and it’s a fun vibe. (also watched a bit of noobs on the gooftower and tpi official vods) there were some standouts cast members when i first watched them last year but this time i’m generally enjoying everyone and liking everyone’s different play styles.

then in my sleep deprived state i start to become slightly obsessed with this one regular. just slightly. like i start hoping he gets big plays and screentime and funny bits. but i also want to see him mess up spectacularly and blow shit up for his team because he always gets stuff comically wrong and idk 💥💥💥 i don’t know why i picked him out of everyone but whatever, it’s just a 2h long game, cool to pick a bias for absolutely no reason, and i enjoy everyone regardless.

then one day it hits me like a truck. it’s because this guy reminds me of martyn. not in the sense he’s like martyn but he has the same effect martyn has on me. inexplicable whimsical fascination and wanting him to explode while giggling and twirling my hair. it’s ALWAYS a witty british man who’s good at improv and also has a WIFE. i can’t fucking stand myself 😭

I was thinking about the entire new new who season and the final to understand what Im feeling about it, but the conclusion is I felt nothing, and it's disappointing, not the show, I mean I watched it and it was fine, but the fact that it did not make me feel things it supposed to make me feel, like you're killing kate stewart

and Im thinking about what I should make myself for a dinner, Im supposed to hold onto chair and stop breathing the moment she dies, I love her, and yet... Im making myself mac and cheese

sometimes being the director of the buddy cole documentary is an emotional rollercoaster for reasons entirely unrelated to actual controversy with the character

basically. this morning paramount took down the comedy central website and made every link redirect to paramount plus (which i do not have). previously you could find clips from every time buddy cole was a correspondent on the colbert report for free on the comedy central website, but not only are those free clips no longer up, paramount plus doesn't even have the colbert report.

so even if this craven attempt to get people to pay ransom subscribe to their streaming service worked, they didn't even take the clips with them!!!

so i was in mourning for a solid few hours this morning bc like if i'd known this was going to happen i would have at least screen-recorded each of the segments even if it meant the audio sync was a little off. but i had no idea this was going to happen and now yet another piece of buddy cole media was lost forever. and i'm used to having gaps in my timeline. stuff like scottland and the lowest show i've only been able to watch bc bellini happened to have a dvd he could digitize. and stuff like the buddy cole funny or die clips, out on the edge, and the ctv royal wedding special i may never see. but when something like this happens in real time after i've already dedicated myself to preserving and documenting the works of buddy cole, it really stings

i know i shouldn't feel like i somehow "failed buddy" for not preserving these episodes. i had no idea comedy central's parent company was going to throw out so much of their content, we're just in a literal hellscape with regards to how corporations value art. but i can't help but feel a little protective of buddy - not protective in terms of controversy, per se, controversy is a natural reaction to everything scott does with buddy cole and i don't always have to agree with everything the character stands for. i've already gotten a taste of being in my own buddy cole controversy, and it was horrible but it also felt like this is what's supposed to happen because we're now able to have this conversation. but being completely forgotten? that doesn't feel natural one bit even though it keeps happening to so much of this character's timeline.

anyway, i pasted the links into the wayback machine and even tho it could load the interface it couldn't load the videos. i found a record of each episode on the internet archive but they're all chopped into 1-2 minute clips, there's an option to "borrow" full episodes and have them mail you a flashdrive but i have no idea how that works and if i'd then be allowed to copy the episodes onto my own computer. i eventually found the colbert report is still available to purchase on itunes for $1.99 per episode - i'd need four specific episodes so that would be more like $8, which isn't too bad, but still stings just on principle. plus, what if that iTunes interface goes down someday? the only colbert report dvds are "best of" and even if i think buddy cole is the best part of anything he's in, the people making the dvds probably don't.

Just finished the season 2 finale of Taskmaster: Minnesota, which might be the last ever episode of the show. I’ve only discovered the show a few weeks ago, but each new episode has been the highlight of my week for the last few weeks. So sad that it’s over, but I’m extremely grateful to David and everyone involved for creating such an amazing and fun show - it has been an absolute joy!

Power Rangers Ninja Storm : I will simply NEVER shut up about this season for reasons. first of which is that it houses like SO MANY of my favorite characters. I think the dynamics of the team are really interesting, even as individuals they are pretty solid. also dustin I see your undiagnosed adhd and I feel it bcz same my baby. I will also never not have a crush on hunter and shane.

Power Rangers RPM : Now that is how you make a darker story. I loved the concept of the whole world is destroyed by a computer program, too close to real possibility idk? I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic/survival drama. Also yes Scott is one of THE red rangers, Dillion's character arc alone can hold up a season in my opinion but it's supported by great characters with their own great arcs and it just makes it all so much better.

Power Rangers Mystic Force/Jungle Fury : I can't choose between these two, I love both of them equally. one of the reason is how the reds are handled by these seasons. Nick and Casey are very different, almost opposites of each other on the spectrum if you ask me, but they are also somehow similar. their magical/spiritual nature just makes it a whole lot better. Udonna and RJ stay being my favorite mentors.

Honorable mentions to : S.P.D, dino thunder and operation overdrive. I grew up on disney era and early new saban era so I'm a little biased.

i hope they continue making it into the future tho since its such a fan fav/cult classic and they seem to being getting good reviews

i mean i cant speak for everyone but ive been really enjoying the new episodes and really dig the new animation which ive heard mixed reviews on that too

ik the limited animation is what made “aqua teen”, “aqua teen”, but this is a nice change i mean some like it; some dont and thats fine we dont ALL have to be satisfied with it
