Guys, I'm gonna apologize before I describe this absolutely horrendous idea that I just had. I am really sick and have access to Tumblr, gods save us all. There are also some mentions of vomit, so if that triggers you or makes you uncomfy, probably don't read this. Okay, now ONTO THE BULLSHIT IDEA.

So vampires don't like garlic,right? European vampires, anyway. Most other vampires don't give a flying fuck, they'll kill you no hesitation. But according to some sources, some European beliefs around vampires stated they were created by a disease of the blood, so a powerful antibiotic would “kill” a vampire. Others say vampires hate the smell, or it weakens them yadda yadda. Onto the idea.

Say you were really craving a meal with a shit ton of garlic, and after eating you went about your day, only to run into a vampire that wants to drink your blood. Unfortunately for both of you, when you get scared, you throw up. So this vampire gets absolutely nailed with this unholy combination of anxiety-fueled, garlic-loaded, projectile vomit and just starts writing on the ground in pain from the garlic acid.

Also consider, imagine that this vampire dies from this malicious and disgusting attack and goes to wherever vampires go when they die, and the other vampires are like "I died from a stake to the heart, I died from sunlight, I died from holy water" and this vampire rocks up covered in 2nd and 3rd degree acid burns and gets asked what happened and has to tell the other vampires that " some random asshole ate garlic and threw up on me and I died".

I do like Raverne though, I think it's got a nice fancy sound to it! (I had kinda suspected it was going to be an R instead of an L, so the fact that it's SO close to Laverne except for that is hilarious to me personally.) and Dragoneye Duke is honestly probably the best translation for his title, I wasn't envying the localizers that one. :') Baur instead of Baul I was NOT expecting, but in retrospect I think his name's supposed to be a reference to the Bauru crocodile, so that actually makes way more sense!

someone else also said Meleanor has become Maleanor, which is the REALLY weird one to me, because I was so surprised it was written as Mel instead of Mal in the first place?! oh god no I can't decide which one I like better. 😭 (I wonder if they might change it to Mal...they have made romanization changes before) (like I remember House of Distraction being corrected to House of Destruction in Playful Land) (I did check and she's still Mel for now, but I dunno, they might Mal her up and some point and save me from having to make a decision about which one to use) (HECK I CAN'T DECIDE)

Obviously next week could prove this all dead-wrong, but I don’t think the trial’s quite over. I don’t believe the end of that episode actually took place, because I’m pretty sure we’re still firmly in the “punish Agatha” phase. Rio’s suddenly gone. Alice seems to be dead by Agatha’s hand, and no one—including Teen, who has always been on her side—seems primed to believe she was out of control. The others have been sucked beneath the power of the surrogate son who not only just told Agatha to fuck off, but went full-Wanda to do it. It just all seems too tailored to cut up any of the character progress Agatha’s made on the Road thus far. Getting harassed by her ghost mother and hearing her son’s voice don’t feel like a complete tear-down. This does. It feels like more trial.

I have very strong opinions about disaster preparation as someone who lives in a tornado zone, where evacuation is NOT an option for anyone and the only way to definitely survive is to 1) be in a building that WON'T just get picked up AND 2) have a basement, cellar, or specialized tornado shelter.

The simple fact is that the majority of fatalities in tornadoes are people living in mobile homes/trailers and those deaths could be reduced massively if the government built tornado shelters in high risk areas. But there's been very, very little effort to do that and tornadoes are just getting stronger and more deadly while poor people are left to huddle in our bathtubs, listening to the sirens and thinking about easily we could die.

I think it’s really dumb that there being wolf statues all around Thedas is somehow attributed to Solas having an ego when he’s not the one who put them there.

It also shows you just how little they know about Thedas itself, because most of those statues are found on lands that were once held by Elves, such as The Dales, because wolves were a culturally significant animal to them. You also find them outside Dalish camps acting as wards against evil, sort of like gargoyles. They’re meant to scare off the dangers of the world.

Also, have they considered that Solas just kind of…likes wolves? He clearly loves wolves and has strong feelings about them. They symbolized the rebellion itself. Not every depiction of a wolf is necessarily a depiction of him. Wolves are a symbol in elven culture, likely dating back to Elvhenan itself. One which has come to represent different things over time and changing circumstances.

Claiming this as somehow being evident of Solas—mister ‘I hate myself more than anyone has ever hated themselves’—having an ego is the literal definition of bad faith.

Read a damn book.
