It has come to my attention (a true shock, really) that most people here must be very confused about the current situation. "But Lav, who is this circus stranger you abandoned us to? boo boo come back" Well, Lav won't be able to respond to that since I am taking over her blog for now, but I can! Hi there! I'm Eliott, and I am housesitting this blog for a while. Some people here know me from my former (deleted) blog where I basically wrote some stories and managed an occasional bookclub. I left tumblr to find some peace (which I found), but chaos called and who am I to deny it, right?

This blog is my circus for now, consider me its resident poltergeist. You won't be able to reach Lav but as she instructed in her previous post, you can address me asks! I will not open any DM though.

I'll drop by occasionally for some random chaos and book recommendations! Listing good books is what entertains me the most so let me know if you need help with your next read :)

I kinda smushed two Lost Time prompts and was inspired by two posts you tagged as Lost Time for inspiration since I've never really written or drawn art exploring Danny and Clockwork's relationship before. (Hope that's ok xp) I hope you like it ><

Danny raced through the Zone, struggling to reach Clockwork's lair as ghost after ghost delayed him, picking a fight with what Danny's core quietly noted was motivated by desperation.

Desperate to what? Beat him to the ground?

No, that wasn't it.

His core hummed with... discomfort??? Unsatisfaction??? None of these ghost were giving him what he wanted.

What did he want?

Danny didn't know. Didn't have time to think as he blasted away one of his rouges, confusion bubbling when Pandora of all ghosts seemed to bow at her defeat. Although, it wasn't like she was putting much effort into their fight. She seemed only amused. A quiet acceptance lingering in her eyes as he slowly floated away from her.

"I understand I can't have you. Not with how your cores call for each other."

...what?

He didn't stick around for an answer. A desperate need like no other pulling him towards Clockwork. Idly, as he finally reached Clockwork's lair, a conversation he had with Clockwork resurfaced.

"Ugh, that's the third time this week that Skulkers broken his promise not to attack during school hours! And it's only Tuesday!" Clockwork simply smiled in amusement as Danny ranted about his day.

"But as I recall, you've successfully ended the fight before the Fentons showed up with minimal damage. You're improving. What is there to complain about?"

Danny snarled but pulled back, startled at his harsh reaction, hands slapping his mouth closed. Where did that come from?

"Sorry, it's just that..." He growled softly, flexing his hands into fists, "Lately these fights have been feeling so... UGH lame!"

"Lame?"

"Yeah! Lame." He huffed, looking away from Clockwork, knowing he was laughing at his childish insult.

"Poor thing." Danny's core bubbled at the insult. Clockwork raised his brow towards Danny, the ghostling's irritability easy to read with how little control he has in hiding his core's projections. "Is the lame fights to blame for your irritability or does the baby ghost need a bedtime?"

"BEDTIME?!" He stuttered at the offense, his core surged at the insult. He groaned. "Don't tell me you want to pick a fight, too! That's what everyone seems to want from me lately! At least you'll be a challenge."

Clockwork's eyes pierced right through his soul and Danny involuntarily shivered with fear.

"Perhaps tomorrow."

"Tsk- Perhaps tomorrow." Danny mocked. "Scared you'll lose?"

"No." He smiled a little, "I'd like to see their desperation as they fight for guardianship one last time. I let this go on long enough."

Guardianship. His core hummed with recognition. Expectation.

This was it. What was it? He wouldn't be alone anymore! Since when was he alone? He just had to prove himself! But why??

He entered Clockwork's lair with a grimace, irritated and tired from all the ghosts attacking him since their last conversation. Everyone understood what they were fighting for except him. Would Clockwork even explain himself after?

He didn't have much time left to think, when Clockwork swung at him. His core hummed with excitement, wild green eyes meeting calm, piercing red.

Game on.

DP x DC Prompt #26

Tucker hadn't heard from his cousin, Richie, in a while. It wasn't the biggest deal, Tucker has lots of cousins he doesn't necessarily talk to. But, well, when he sees someone who looks a lot like Richie in the news. Well, it was concerning.

Since when did Richie have superpowers?

Map part for the hole dwelling map, starring... Not my ocs! I wanted to use ocs, but I don't have any-- so I just used the characters from a fic I was reading at the time 😂

Turns out, the symbolism was so much fun to twist into the 11 seconds I had to work with, I ended up going way more complex than I meant to. If you wanna read the fic this was based on, please do!! And tell the author I said hi! :D

I have two inter-connected headcanons I would like to share

First, that Shanks was absolutely going to take Luffy with him right up until he learned that Luffy is Garp’s grandson. He himself got his start as a cabin boy on Roger’s ship, it’s not like he’s apposed to children being pirates. He brought it up to Makino and she explained Luffy’s family and Shanks realized that if he took Luffy he’d end up with Garp The Fist bringing the whole damn navy down on him for kidnapping the man’s grandson. So he reluctantly decided to leave the kid behind. A large part of him teasing Luffy about how he’d never be a pirate was less to do with making sure Luffy knew Shanks wasn’t gonna take him and more to do with reminding himself that he couldn’t bring Luffy with him, even though he really wanted to.

The related headcanon is that, originally, the Red Hair pirates were going to swing by Syrup and pick up Usopp after they left Dawn. They had it all planned out. Yasopp and Shanks in particular were real excited about it. Luffy and Usopp, growing up together on board, just like Shanks and Buggy. Even when they knew they couldn’t take Luffy, the plan was still to go get Usopp. Then all the stuff with the bandits and Shanks losing his arm happened, and Yasopp was reminded of just how insanely dangerous their lives are — how even with their skill and their power, they are not infallible, and a single mistake could mean injury or death for them, much less for a vulnerable child who’s counting on them. And Yasopp decided he couldn’t do it. He couldn’t bring little Usopp into that kind of danger.

When news that Usopp was sailing with Luffy reached the Red Hair crew, everybody decided it must have been fate.

The stories where Nightmare ends up meeting Dream as child instead of an adult after he breaks free from his rocky prison are great actually.

Because Nightmare, no matter how long he's been festering in his angst and anger, he can't stay mad at a child.

He'd look down into his now little brothers big worried eyes and see nothing but foolish naivety and innocence. The same foolish naivety and innocence that meant nothing to him back then. The same foolish naivety and innocence he had had when they were both the same age, when Nightmare was just as naive, although that is something he wouldn't have admitted if not for the circumstances.

Dream would cry and apologize for being so stupid and never seeing just how much his brother has been hurting this whole time. And Nightmare wouldn't have it in him to crush his little golden soul like he'd been waiting to do for hundreds of years.

Maybe, just maybe. No matter how much Nightmare considered himself as the superior one, and behaved as such, he really did see Dream as his true equal his mind, which warranted fear.

He waited and yearned for a nemesis to battle for an eternity, he wanted someone to defeat. But they don't exist, not anymore, not as a child in the form of a brother he hadn't missed.
